Wiki & Tony Seltzer Swerve While “Dodging Losses” With Papo2oo4 On New Single: Stream

Wiki and Tony Seltzer are on one heck of a run right now, following up quickly on their previous 2024 single “No L’s” with some more bizarre but nonetheless impressive heat. Moreover, their new collaboration “Dodging Losses” is one of their oddest but most creative and unique tracks yet, and it features Papo2oo4 on the hook, as well. It follows their incredible chemistry on the album 14K Figaro from last year, and proves that they have so much more to offer the hip-hop world.

Furthermore, “Dodging Losses” is an exercise in intricate rhyme schemes and coldly delivered and cynically comical bars from Wiki and Papo2oo4, whereas Tony Seltzer provides an oddball bounce, fuzzy bass, digitally distorted synths, and a lot of different beeps and bloops to make the beat feel all the more vivid. What’s more is that each half of this duo has a lot more material for you to discover. Tony’s collab album with MIKE, Pinball, is one of 2024’s best albums so far, whereas Wiki also linked with MIKE and The Alchemist for their collaborative effort, 2023’s Faith Is A Rock.

Check out “Mayors A Cop” for a taster of that, and look forward to what else Wiki and Tony Seltzer have coming down the pipeline. If you haven’t heard “Dodging Losses” with Papo2oo4 yet, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out on YouTube below. You can also find some standout bars down there too and drop your thoughts on the record in the comments section. As always, stick around on HNHH for more killer rap drops around the clock.

Quotable Lyrics
But since he started again, the kid’s lost his s**t,
Tossed in bed, lost self-consciousness,
Plenty of boys to them, so nah,
He ain’t lost an ounce of respect

Wiki & Tony Seltzer Are Taking W’s & “No L’s” On New Single

Wiki and Tony Seltzer were two heroes in the world of hip-hop last year. Both were at the forefront of some of the strongest releases in what was seen as a down year for the genre. Their distinctive sounds coming out of the New York underground scene brought us some refreshing listens. For the Harlem rapper, Wiki was on two standout tapes, the first of them being Faith Is A Rock alongside MIKE and The Alchemist. Then, just about a month and a half later, the veteran MC came back with even more consistency on 14K Figaro. That time Tony was in the mix, producing some great alternative hip-hop. Now, the dynamic duo of Wiki and Tony Seltzer is back with “No L’s”.

For the former, this is their first release of the year, whereas for the latter, he is keeping his momentum going. Tony has also built up quite the rapport with the aforementioned MIKE and it was furthered on Pinball back in March. On “No L’s”, Wiki is rapping with good pace and command over what turns into a trap instrumental 30 seconds later. If you need a confidence boost, then this is the track for you.

Quotable Lyrics:

Most of the time I’m so chill, a jokester
But lose my composure you won’t tell, so
Slow down part- hold that thought
Let me break down the program to your whole court, by the stairs, by the courts over there, don’t dwell
If you don’t know me don’t yell
Hat down, covers the head

MIKE & Tony Seltzer Recruit Earl Sweatshirt & Tony Shhnow For Wavy “On God”

MIKE is one of the more eccentric and ever-changing artists in modern day hip-hop. He can go super lyrical and abstract on something like Faith Is A Rock or Burning Desire. Or he can be looser and dip into more contemporary sounds on Pinball. The latter is his latest offering following a very impressive and diverse 2023 in which those more experimentative projects dropped. One track to make a note of is MIKE’s “On God.”

Pinball is a collaboration tape that sees MIKE working with Tony Seltzer. He is also a native New Yorker like his rap counterpart, hailing from Brooklyn. The tape just dropped today, but leading up to it, there were a couple of singles released beforehand. Those included “R&B” and “Underground Kingz.”

“On God” is one of three tracks to boast a feature. In this case MIKE and Seltzer are teaming up with two other “underground kingz,” Earl Sweatshirt and Tony Shhnow. It is a bit of a weird mix, but they all work together very well. Every rapper on the track gives a subdued performance which complements Tony S.’s woozy and wavy trap-like beat. You will be floating on a cloud after listening to this one.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “On God,” by MIKE, Tony Seltzer, Earl Sweatshirt, and Tony Shhnow? Is this one of his strongest tracks on Pinball, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the best performance on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. You know I’m on & off, hydraulic
I cannot talk, it’s all in your pocket
I milly rock when I saw the dеposit
Ain’t off the top but it’s off the noggin
I’ll do you wrong, my dawg can vouch

MIKE & Tony Seltzer Provide Their Take On Early 2000’s “R&B”

MIKE is someone we always love discussing here on HNHH. The New York rapper and singer just knows how to do things differently, without turning people away. At just the ripe age of 25, MIKE has delivered some fantastic projects since he got his start in 2017. 2023 was arguably his strongest year yet. The underground scene was more dominant over the mainstream in terms of quality releases. MIKE was a key part in two of the best albums from that year. Himself, The Alchemist, and Wiki, all came together for Faith Is A Rock.

Then, just about a month later he returned for his solo effort Burning Desire. That had features from Larry June, Earl Sweatshirt, and more. Since that point though, MIKE has remained dormant. That has recently just changed as he has just dropped his first piece of music in 2024. “R&B” is a collaborative single with producer Tony Seltzer.

Seltzer was worked with a host of rappers such as Ski Mask the Slump God, Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, and more. MIKE is very familiar with him, as they have been in the studio as well. According to Stereogum, they first collaborated their talents on MIKE’s debut record May God Bless Your Hustle. “R&B” has a soulful feel with the music video being a quite funny callback to early 2000s visuals. The fading to black briefly in between shots, as well as the grainy quality all add up.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “R&B,” by MIKE and Tony Seltzer? Should he and Tony drop a collaboration album this year, why or why not? Does this sound work for MIKE and should he do a full project with it? Is this one of his best songs in the past year, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding MIKE and Tony Seltzer.
