Tinashe’s ‘BB/ANG3L’ Tracklist Keeps It Short And Sweet

Tinashe’s next project is short and sweet. It’s called BB/ANG3L, and it’s due on September 8 with distribution through Nice Life Recording Company. The seven-song EP will feature the previously released songs “Talk To Me” and “Needs” and will be supported via Tinashe’s upcoming joint tour with “Heaven” collaborator Shygirl. Tinashe shared the cover art, release date, and tracklist on social media earlier today.

BB/ANG3L is the 30-year-old singer’s sixth album and third project since leaving RCA in 2019. In a June interview with Rolling Stone Korea, Tinashe said of the upcoming project, “With this new music, I did a lot of genre-combining, and he really brought an electronic side that I loved in the production. Then I balanced that with a lot of R&B melodies and vocals. I hope everyone really likes it.” She later previewed the music at a party in Los Angeles, and since then, has been full steam ahead on the album’s promotion, cryptically tweeting lyrics.

BB/ANG3L is due on 9/8 via Tinashe Music Inc./ Nice Life Recording Company. You can see the tracklist below.

1. “Treason”
2. “Talk To Me”
3. “Needs”
4. “Uh Huh”
5. “Gravity”
6. “None Of My Business”
7. “Tightrope”

Tinashe is a Warner music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Tinashe Details Her “Needs” With Her Latest Track

Tinashe is in full rollout mode. The singer has just released the second single, “Needs,” off her upcoming album, BB/ANG3L. Coming in at just over three minutes, the 30-year-old singer explores her deepest sexual desires. Tinashe seems more confident than ever on the track and has no problem showing it.

In the accompanying video released on YouTube on Thursday (August 17), the singer is seen dancing through the aisles of a grocery store with her friends in tow. In a recent interview with Dazed, Tinashe opened up about her inspiration. “We wanted it to have that playful, reckless energy,” the singer says as if the group had “broken into this grocery store and were having some type of after-hours party in it.”

The Singer Is Gearing Up For Her Forthcoming Album, “BB/ANG3L”

She also revealed to the publication her direction for her next album. Tinashe says she wants her fans to know her “on more of an intimate level” with BB/ANG3L. “With this era, I want people to get to know me on more of an intimate level, very up close and personal. I want it to feel like this album is whispering in your ear. My last era we leaned into a lot more concepts, a lot of dark makeup, a lot of outfits, which was amazing and beautiful. But being able to have this stripped back side of me, to play into different colour tones, different vibes, just feels very cinematic and really personal.”

The track seems to have fans even more excited about what Tinashe has next under her sleeve. “ICON!!!! Baby you just get better and better. So unique, so fresh, so fun! You are the epitome of what the industry needs and what people are always saying they are looking for yet for some reason can’t find. THIS is your lane and you nail it everytime,” one fan commented under the visual.

Quotable Lyrics:

Open twenty-four hours
There’s no shirts or shoes required
Eat your heart out (Yeah)
My body is a buffet
Eat my pussy, boy, don’t call me
I can’t be ya one and only

Tinashe Breaks Down Her ‘Needs’ On Her New Single

Known to craft her art on her own terms, Tinashe is laying down the law with her new single. Tonight (August 18), Tinashe is kicking off a new music project of hers with “Needs.”

As the song’s title suggests, Tinashe makes her needs known on the track, delivering suggestive yet sexy lyrics over a pulsating beat.

“Don’t be a tease / Grab them keys / Afterparty in between the sheets / Top floor shawty in a penthouse suite / I make you say, ‘Please’ / Please / I’m not easy, but I’m feenin’ / I’m just human, we all got needs,” she sings on the song’s chorus.

In the song’s accompanying video, Tinashe and her crew dance their way through an empty supermarket. In one spicy scene, Tinashe is seen naked, covered by cold-cut meats.

The track comes from her upcoming album, BB/ANG3L, which she will release via producer Ricky Reed’s Nice Life Recordings.

“For BB/ANG3L I was very inspired by the concept of identity,” said Tinashe in a statement. “Exploring both how I self-identify and also challenging the perceptions of others. I believe how we identify in this world is ultimately our own personal choice; and I’ve enjoyed stripping back layers of aesthetic fluff, smoke, and mirrors, and white noise to get down to the core of myself. Who we are at a core level, when we are alone – raw and unfiltered, is what I want this album to reflect.”

Azealia Banks Praises Cardi B & Tinashe, Disses ASAP Rocky, Rihanna & Others

For once, Azealia Banks is using her social media platform to spread positivity about other artists (though it didn’t last long before her Instagram Story posts once again took a turn for the negative). To begin her weekend, the New York native shared her thoughts on Cardi B, revealing that the mother of two is actually much kinder than the public perception seems to paint her. “[Cardi] genuinely reached out when I was having a real rough time mentally during the pandemic and it was really so heartwarming and helpful,” Banks wrote over a black screen.

She further noted that the Invasion of Privacy artist “isn’t a bad person.” In fact, Azealia says “she’s really a sweetie pie” who she would “highkey love to kiki with.” Another female entertainer that’s currently in the embattled lyricists’ good graces is Tinashe. “It’s time to put some respect on [her] name,” Banks told her followers in another post.

Azealia Banks Has High Praise for Cardi B and Tinashe

It’s rare to see the “Luxury” singer uplifting so many other women at once, and many were enjoying the good energy coming from her content. It didn’t last, however, as a few slides later Banks had some thoughts on the ongoing discourse about New York’s best rappers. “Now why would y’all gas Rocky like this? Like he got a single memorable bar worth repeating?” she asked. “I grew up with Rocky, he’s always had imposter syndrome.

She went on to notably praise ASAP Ferg and ASAP Nast for their contributions to East Coast hip-hop, but not before insulting the intelligence of Rocky’s girlfriend. “Lol thank god Rihanna is not smart enough to have snagged Relli,” she name-dropped another member of the ASAP crew. “That’s the type of d**k you have to fight a b**ch in the streets for,” Azealia continued.

New Music From Tinashe & Roy Woods Appears On Our “R&B Season” Update: Stream

Before we say goodbye to yet another weekend, we’ve got a handful of hot new tracks to share with you on our R&B Season playlist. Last Sunday it was Justin Timberlake’s sensual return on Coco Jones’ “ICU (Remix)” that pulled at our heartstrings, but today (July 23), it’s Mario’s turn to take the lead. The renowned vocalist connected with Lil Wayne and Tyga for his latest, “Main One,” which landed alongside an accompanying visual on New Music Friday. After that comes another noteworthy collaboration from some of R&B’s finest – Ty Dolla Sign and Chris Brown – called “Motion (Remix).”

This week’s update is far more male-dominated than we’ve seen in the past, but music lovers definitely aren’t complaining. Holding it down for the women is Tinashe, who’s making her mark on “Talk To Me Nice,” as well as the ever-ethereal Snoh Aalegra. The latter’s new single is called “Be My Summer,” and it’s the perfect seasonal love song to send to anyone who’s weighing on your mind romantically at this time.

Our recommendations don’t stop there. Canada’s Roy Woods continues to impress us with his string of singles that have landed so far in 2023. Recent efforts include “Young Boy Problems” and “Don’t Mind Me,” but as July comes to a close he’s back with “Test What I Know.” If you’re looking for something sure to set the mood for a night of dancing, Burna Boy and Byron Messia’s “Talibans II” will surely do the trick. Elsewhere, our final pick of the week comes from “GOD DID” collaborator Fridayy, who proudly flexes his vocal chops on “When It Comes To You.”

If any of those sound like your jam, you can stream the entirety of this weekend’s R&B Season update exclusively on Spotify. Are there any recent arrivals that you think we missed? Tinashe Is Starting A New Era With Her Sultry Song ‘Talk To Me Nice’

Earlier this year, Tinashe appeared on the deluxe edition of Shygirl’s Nymph on the track “Heaven.” She was also brought out during Kaytranada’s Coachella set, along with Anderson .Paak, HER, and more.

She’s kicking off her next era with this her new single “Talk To Me Nice.” Her forthcoming project is reportedly called BB/ANG3L, following 2021’s 333. It’s a sultry song, with lyrics narrating temptation: “You got options, I got options / Want you, but don’t need you / Tease you, but I please you,” she sings.

In our 2020 interview with Tinashe, she discussed her persistence when it comes to making art. “It’s interesting because I’ve never really looked at my career as an option or thought I would ever possibly, potentially do anything else,” she said. “So even in the lowest of low, I’ve been discouraged, but I’ve never been hopeless. I’ve always just used that down period as some type of motivation to create better music and create better art and be a better creative. I really thrive sometimes when my back is against the wall. I feel like I step up to the plate in adversity. I would say a lot of times the lows have been good things and motivation for me to keep moving forward and I just wouldn’t ever stop anyways. It’s all part of the journey.”
