Chief Keef’s Most Beloved Song “Faneto” Turns 10 Years Old

Chief Keef came into the rap world with a bunch of bangers that immediately turned him into a household name. For over a decade, Keef has been reinventing himself with every new album. No two Chief Keef albums are alike. In fact, no two Chief Keef songs are alike. Overall, he is an artist who can produce his own beats while also creating new sounds that will have you doing a double take at what you just heard. Having said that, fans still have nostalgia for the classics. One song that just turned 10 years old is none other than Faneto.

This is a quintessential Keef song and may just be his most popular and most beloved. Sure, Finally Rich contains his breakthrough single, but “Faneto” serves as a declaration that he was more than just a one-hit-wonder. It is a song that contains some thrilling production and an iconic intro that instills fear in whoever might cross Keef’s path. It’s a song that immediately throws you into a moshpit and more important, it makes you feel some sort of emotion. Keef is incredible at tapping into aggression, and that is more than evident on “Faneto.”

Let us know what you think of Faneto, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is Chief Keef’s best song? What do you think of his newer output compared to his classics from a decade ago? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Kanye West Reminisces On His Childhood In China With Throwback Picture

Kanye West is looking forward to his second VULTURES listening party in China with Ty Dolla $ign this Saturday (September 28), once again reminiscing on his childhood. Before their first go-around on September 15, Ye had posted a throwback picture of him as a kid sitting on the steps of Huang Shan (also known as the Yellow Mountain) with the caption “BACK.” For those unaware, he moved to Nanjing when he was ten years old to accompany his mother, who taught college courses as a Fulbright Scholar. On Friday (September 27), the Chicago artist posted yet another throwback pic of him on Instagram with the caption “BACK AGAIN.”

This time, the post features a young Kanye West with white Nikes standing near what seems to be an elevator. As such, considering how massive the first show in Haikou was – with over 40,000 fans in attendance – it seems like he’s ready for another spectacle. What’s more is that the VULTURES duo even premiered some new material that has fans thinking that Yeezy is back in album mode. These include the new track “Preacher Man” and a surprising remix of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles.”

Kanye West’s Latest Throwback Post

However, other new music rumors from years ago resurfaced thanks to a new Consequence interview with Bootleg Kev. The rapper claimed that Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar have a whole album’s worth of scrapped songs together produced by Madlib, a mystery that originally captivated us so long ago. “I just think it just needed to be structured,” Con told Kev. “It was there, it’s there, it’s crazy.” Given Ye’s many controversies and recent musical moves, this will probably never see the light of day. But fans can still dream…

Elsewhere, we still don’t know if Kanye West’s supposed next project will be VULTURES 3 (as Ty Dolla $ign promised) or something else entirely. Another collaborative effort, a solo album, a short EP… Who knows? What we do know is that he has a lot to handle and answer for in the public eye, a moment of possible retribution that probably missed its window. But we can never count Ye out of another culturally dominant moment, no matter if its context is for better or worse.

Dr. Dre’s “What’s The Difference” Is The Type Of Production We Want On The Next Snoop Dogg Album

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have one of the most anticipated projects of the year on their hands with Missionary. There isn’t a lot of information on the Doggystyle sequel, but there are some loose expectations that it will arrive in November of this year. Furthermore, the producer extraordinaire has been hyping it up sporadically, with the most recent chatter around it coming in August. In an ET conversation, he said, “This one is gonna show a different level of maturity with his (Snoop’s) lyrics and with my music”. There have certainly a lot of opportunities for said “maturity” over the years, as Doggystyle is over 30 years old.

So, we are hoping with all of that time Dr and Snoop are going to outdo themselves and bring another incredible listening experience. While we are looking back on that unofficial collaboration album, we are taking a trip back to 1999 with 2001, one of the most timeless hip-hop records of all time. Tracks like “What’s The Difference” are something we are hoping to hear, at least some elements of, when Missionary arrives. Ingenious sample flips like the one on this track with Eminem and Xzibit, made Dre into one of the best mad scientist-like producers ever. If he can somehow work some similar magic all these years later, it will be a highly impressive feat.

Latto Fans Barely Recognize Her In Teenage Rap Video

Latto has been rapping for a long time, as she has plenty of old performance clips from when she was just a teenager. However, a new example of this that hit the Internet this week might be the most unrecognizable and shocking yet. Moreover, it’s a music video of her with two friends rapping over a trap beat that sounds right out of the early 2010s, and this is when she was still going by “Miss Mulatto.” In it, the Atlanta femcee has some fun in front of a green screen and delivers a charismatic verse with a much higher pitch than what you’ll find on Sugar Honey Iced Tea.

It’s always heartening and at least pretty cool to see where rappers came from, especially when they are such huge stars now. It also goes to show that Latto’s been about female rap from the jump, even if some shade she sent Ice Spice’s way might put that in question for some today. Nevertheless, everybody has to start somewhere. Setting up the timeline for her artistic evolution reveals a pretty step-by-step progression thanks to videos like these.

Latto’s Been Rapping For A Long

What’s more is that 2024 is the perfect time to look back on Latto’s humble beginnings since this has arguably been her biggest 12 months yet. In fact, she was named “Trapper Of The Year” at T.I.’s Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, which is the highest honor because it’s a source of hometown pride. Of course, we can’t discount 2023 either, which held “Put It On Da Floor” and all the groundwork that provided this massive 2024 in the first place. Much like this old rap video, it’s always important to connect the dots and understand that there’s levels to the amount of work hip-hop’s icons have to put in.

Even though Sugar Honey Iced Tea didn’t perform the best commercially, that doesn’t reflect the dominant conversation that Latto was at the center of this year. There’s a lot of ink over the state of female rap and their interpersonal career dynamics, and she’s been a big part of that discussion for better or worse. Ultimately, we’re just excited to see what 2025 looks like and what the next evolution will be. Maybe we’ll look back on this moment years down the line in the same way that we admire this music video.

Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” Could Be Amazing To Hear At The Super Bowl

Everyone is talking about the decision to select Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Overall, an overwhelming number of people are team Weezy in this ongoing debate, and we can see why. Obviously, Kendrick is a great pick, but the Hot Boys member has just as many if not more classics. While you can argue his performing chops aren’t what they used to be, seeing him rock one of the biggest stages in the world, especially in his home state of Louisiana, would be a sight to see. Just imagine Lil Wayne going setting the field ablaze with “A Milli”.

All of this back-and-forth online has us daydreaming about this very possibility. The cultural impact and the iconic performance from Wayne on this Carter III single would “feed families” as the kids say nowadays. However, we are still holding out hope that Kendrick will bring out one of his biggest influences for a special guest performance. Not only would that be a viral story, but it would be another W for the culture of hip-hop, much like the halftime performance back in Inglewood a few years ago. For now, just picture what it would be it like to her Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” and tell us how happy it would make you feel in the comments below.

Sister, brother, son, daughter, father; mother-f*** a copper
Got the Maserati dancin’ on the bridge, p***y poppin’

Drake Shows Tremendous Love For Lil Wayne With Young Money Throwback Repost

There’s no doubt that two of the biggest hip-hop artists of this generation and Drake and Lil Wayne. They are powerful forces on their own, but when they come together, it’s always going to be an even more special moment. Unfortunately, at least on the outside looking in, both legends aren’t up to much as a duo. The last time we heard them on a record(s) was back in 2021 on a reissue of Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green” and then on Certified Lover Boy. However, with Drizzy fending off tons of outside noise from his contemporaries, it sort of makes sense why things haven’t been the same ol’ same ol’.

But with them developing a partnership/friendship since the late 2000s, true close buds will always find a way to support each other. That’s the case here, as Drake is doing so from afar, according to HipHopDX. A Lil Wayne fan account on social media who goes by liltunechi_classics reposted a clip from 2009 during the heat of the Young Money days. It’s a wholesome video, as Weezy is “introducing” two of his newest signees to an “excited crowd”. The Louisiana native mimicked an audience screaming while Drake was holding the mic.

After listing off his laundry list of nicknames, he then gave the mic to Nicki. All three of them had a hard time keeping a straight face, as Drake was making suggestive and childish noises during her self-introduction. The For All The Dogs creator came across the post and shared it on his IG Story while speaking highly of Lil Wayne. “We were so lucky to have the most supportive boss in the game always gassed us up”. You can be skeptical of where they stand with each other right now, but you cannot deny that they at least have incredible amounts of mutual respect for one another.

What are your thoughts on the love from Drake to Lil Wayne in this throwback repost? Do you think we will eventually see a reuniting of sorts down the line? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lil Wayne and Drake. Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar & Royce Da 5’9″ Teamed Up On “100” Off Of “Detroit” 12 Years Ago Today: Stream

Big Sean’s brand new album Better Me Than You has us reminiscing on how far he’s come in his career. Moreover, 12 years ago today (September 5), he dropped his breakout mixtape Detroit on the Internet and re-released it on streaming services for its ten-year anniversary. While there are plenty of highlights to name here, there are multiple reasons as to why “100” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Royce Da 5’9″ is an easy standout.

For one, these introspective verses see each MC speak on their aspirations before their life is over, ripping through a dramatic and percussively stark instrumental. Also, this is a minor but still relevant chapter in the beef history between Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar, a tale that ended amicably. But it’s curious to hear this track back when you consider that it dropped a year before K.Dot would challenge Sean and many others on their “Control” collab. For obvious reasons, this reflection on that competitiveness is more relevant than ever these days.

Meanwhile, with a potential collab album with The Alchemist on the way, this throwback doesn’t take away from all we have to look forward to from Big Sean in the future. If you haven’t heard “100” with Kendrick Lamar and Royce Da 5’9″, find it on your preferred streaming service or check it out on YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some standout bars and the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on this retrospective look. As always, come back to HNHH for more recollections throughout hip-hop history.

Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj Bodied “Mercy” On “Dedication 4”

There’s no doubt that Lil Wayne is one of the greatest MCs to ever spit into a microphone. He may not be at the peak of his powers anymore; however, his influence and tons of classic projects make him an irreplaceable figure in the genre’s history. He did most of his dominating throughout the 2000s and into the mid 2010s, which is obviously another reason why he’s so highly regarded. Making this longevity all the more impressive is how often he was dropping. On top of streaming platforms, mixtape sites such as DatPiff were just another area where Weezy ran things. The Louisiana native was able to do this with his Dedication series, perhaps most notably.

Across the now six installments in this fan-favorite series, he gave his best stuff to tons of popular beats across hip-hop. Dedication 4 saw Lil Wayne attack “Mercy” by Kanye West, a mid-2010’s club banger that still hits today. Working with Wayne on this interpolation is none other than Nicki Minaj, one of his closest pals and collaborators. Obviously with this track officially turning 12 today, we know how it goes. But this track still wows us all these years later thanks to their show-stopping flows and hilarious bars/double entendres. Relive Lil Wayne’s “remix” of “Mercy” with the link below.

Drake Hilariously Roasts Joe Budden’s Throwback Beach Photo

It’s no secret that Drake and Joe Budden don’t get along, and last night, Drizzy hopped online to troll the podcaster on Instagram. He shared a series of photos featuring himself, Duke Dennis, and Budden, suggesting that they influenced his infamous selfie pose. “I’m not aware of my picture or mirror face it’s a curse from birth and I’m influenced by what I see,” he captioned the photos.

His trolling didn’t stop there, however. One fan in his comments section took note of Budden’s bold pose, which Drake proceeded to roast him for. “2 hand gun squat at the beach is nuts tho,” the commenter wrote. “😂😂😂😂 double gun finger dip down is zaney,” Drake responded, “He’s headed back to the all inclusive and about to order a martini shaken not stirred casino royale a** pose in the Shawn Marion shorts.”

Drake Gives Joe Budden A Shoutout

While social media users are somewhat surprised that he decided to give Budden a shoutout at all, the personality has had plenty to say about Drake in recent months, and most of it hasn’t been nice. For this reason, many can agree that Budden had it coming. He’s yet to respond to the post, though it’s likely he’ll address it on the next episode of his podcast. Budden doesn’t only have negative things to say about Drake these days, however. He shocked fans earlier this week by praising the Toronto hitmaker for his latest release.

Drake dropped three tracks on 100gigs.org last week, and Budden had mostly nice things to say about them. According to him, Drake is “doing a decent job now in post-battle recovery,” and he’ll have a “front-row seat” for game 2 if it happens. What do you think of Drake roasting an old photo of Joe Budden? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
