Keke Palmer & DaniLeigh Vibe To New Music In The Studio: Watch

Keke Palmer’s name is most commonly comes up connection with two things – her versatile acting career, and now, her infamous internet beef with baby daddy Darius Jackson. We’re still unsure if the True Jackson VP alum and her co-parent have gone their separate ways for good, but amid all the drama, Palmer hasn’t for a single second stopped securing the bag. She joined forces with Usher to star in his “Boyfriend” music video earlier this month, and now, she’s spending time in the studio with friends – including DaniLeigh.

The Chicago native’s Instagram lit up with a new video recently that finds her previewing an unreleased track that she’s obviously proud of. “Shorty got assets, good checks, good sex, good credit, she good,” Palmer sings in the preview, confidently bopping along to the beat playing behind her. As she spins around to preview the environment she’s in, we catch sight of Dani in the background, also grooving along with Keke’s latest.

It remains unclear when the 29-year-old plans to share the single, if at all, but considering she just gave us her Big Boss visual album only months after giving birth, we’re not asking too much of Palmer quite yet. Her acting career is definitely what’s kept her name in lights all these years, but many people in the comments are noting that the mother of one’s vocals are a force to be reckoned with too.

DaniLeigh certainly looked happy to be back in the studio hanging out with friends, but not as pleased as she appeared to be during her daughter’s birthday party earlier this month. The “Dead To Me” singer and DaBaby put their differences aside to celebrate Velour’s second trip around the sun, marking her first public appearance since May’s unsightly arrest. Usher Recalls Chaperoning Young Beyonce During Studio Session With The Dolls

Hollywood may seem huge from the outside looking in, but when you really examine the lives of celebrities, many of them are uniquely connected in surprising ways. Growing up in Texas, Beyonce quickly rose to superstardom thanks to her vocal and dance talents. We’ve previously heard Lizzo discuss the time she watched Queen B perform in a Walmart parking lot, and now, Usher has a heartwarming story to tell about his past with the “CUFF IT” hitmaker.

As AllHipHop reports, the Dallas-born artist appeared on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp recently. During the interview, Usher recalled the time he spent working at producer/songwriter Daryl Simmons’ house. “Fun fact, I knew Beyonce when she was 12 years old, 11 years old,” the father of four told the host. “She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.”

Usher shared that Bey’s group was making music at Simmons’ place while he was also visiting. “I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that, the oldest person in the room,” the multi-talent laughed. Years later, the pair went on to connect in 2008 for “Love in This Club, Pt. II,” which first arrived as a single from Usher’s Here I Stand LP.

Usher has been everywhere in the news lately. Not only did the 44-year-old connect with Summer Walker and 21 Sav on his new “Good Good” single, but he also had R&B icons Nelly and Ashanti giving him a run for his money while crooning out one of his throwback hits. See that adorable moment at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Travis Scott Shows Off Studio Session With Rick Rubin

Travis Scott continues to be one of the biggest artists in all of hip-hop. Overall, his clout is about to increase significantly as Utopia is about to be released later this month. Although the release date has yet to be confirmed, he has noted that he will be performing the album at the pyramids in Egypt on July 28th. Consequently, people think that the album will be dropping on that day. No matter what, it is very clear that the project is about to be released, which is super exciting.

Moreover, it was revealed that the album will have five different album covers. Additionally, Travis Scott has already begun selling merch bundles on his website. This is due to the fact that Billboard is now counting these bundles toward album sales. When Astroworld came out, Scott sold so many bundles that his album sales were astronomical. With Utopia, it seems like we will be getting something very similar. As for social media, Scott has been showing some of the behind-the-scenes work on his album.

Travis Scott x Rick Rubin

For instance, in the Instagram post above, we can see Travis Scott working with Rick Rubin out in Malibu. Throughout the video, Rubin is praising Travis for one of the beats he was working on. Although, he was also giving him some pointers on how to change up the song and continue working through it. Overall, it was a very constructive studio sesh. That said, we still didn’t get too many glimpses of the actual song, which is a huge tease. If anyone knows how to build mystery for an album, it would be Travis.

Hopefully, the album ends up living up to this wild rollout. There is a lot of hype surrounding the project, and fans are expecting him to deliver. Let us know what your expectations for the project are, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Russ Mentored By Dr. Dre In “Dream” Studio Session

Russ has been setting the hip-hop world on fire recently, with his moody raps giving off premiere summer vibes. Now he’s getting in the studio with one of his all-time favorite influences, the one and only Dr. Dre. On his Instagram feed, the “Losin Control” artist showed off a few pictures with him and Dre chopping it up in what Russ is calling a “dream” studio session. Apparently, the Compton-based music producer was coaching the young buck up with his latest tracks.

This was a brief pit stop on a week in the life of Russ. He also went to the famous Gold’s Gym in California, attended Larry Jackson’s wedding, and bore witness to a Timbaland/Swizz Beatz performance at the wedding reception. Plus, Dr. Dre wasn’t the only legend in the studio that day. Jackson himself, Snoop Dogg, and Michael “Harry-O” Harris were in attendance, offering up their takes on the session and where to go with Russ’s upcoming music.

Russ’s Dream Come True

Seeing as all of these rap icons were going to Jackson’s wedding anyway, the stars literally aligned for Russ to get a once-in-a-lifetime studio session with titans in the hip-hop industry. He’s getting one-offs with plenty of musical talent outside of the studio as well. He was featured on Black Thought and Danger Mouse’s joint album, Cheat Codes, which also had Raekwon and Joey Bada$$. While those latter two are relatively new, the Roots musician and Danger Mouse have been in the game for a minute.

However, that’s what Russ likes about this time in hip-hop history. He can soak up wisdom from the ones who have been in the game for a long time while also collaborating with true peers to create some unique sounds. With his new album, Santiago, dropping soon, it only makes sense to get as many talented ears as possible to listen to the upcoming release and offer guidance. For Russ, having Dre grace him with his presence was enough of a blessing.

Jim Jones Says Dr. Dre “Punked” Him During Dipset Studio Session

Jim Jones recently incited some potential bad blood between Dipset and Dr. Dre after saying he’ll charge the star producer $2 million if he ever releases the songs they recorded together. Moreover, these revelations came from an interview with The Amazing AllHipHop podcast. While the Harlem MC recalled a “great night” in the studio with Dre, he went on to express some harbored feelings of frustration. “That was a great night in Hip Hop, a great night for the Diplomats,” the “We Fly High” hitmaker expressed. “I had a little studio on 28th street, and Dr. Dre was trying to recreate his new sound for his new album at the time, and we had that sound. Came to my studio, me and Cam did like four records in there. Juelz came and did a record at the end.

“We did about four or five records with Dr. Dre,” Jim Jones continued. “I don’t know what he ever did with the records. Yeah, he did them directly to his hard drive so we had a copy of it to listen to and s**t like that. Truthfully, he better not put it out ’cause I’m charging $2 million for my verse.

Jim Jones Felt Punked By Dr. Dre

“It was the first time I ever had somebody really make me do my verse over like 20 times. The first time I got a piece of that, it had made me think about 2Pac and Snoop. All the others that had to get the beats from Dre. Dre was punking n***as like, ‘Man, go back in there and spit that s**t over, bro. You bugging the f**k out.’ Every time he told me, ‘Nah nah, do that over, man.’

“Like bro, you’re cursing at me,” the Diplomat stated. “You don’t even know you’re cursing at me. You’re punking the s**t outta me right now. ’Cause n***as is looking at me like, ‘You’re telling Capo to do his s**t over? This is crazy.’ N***a, you f***ing it up for me.” Regardless of those studio woes, we’ll see if this manifests into a reconciliation and a release. For the latest on this story, stick around on HNHH for the latest on Dr. Dre and Jim Jones.

Logic & Dwight From “The Office” Spotted In The Studio Together

Logic is certainly no stranger to a fun studio session. Fans consistently get a look into his life and recording process through his YouTube series, Just Another Day.

However, a recent Instagram post shows him in the studio with a rather unexpected collaborator – none other than actor, Rainn Wilson.

The “Everyday” rapper took to his account on Saturday (December 31) to share footage of the surprising duo making music together. “My man is making beats right now and he’s really snapping,” says the 32-year-old. He subsequently shows the actor using an MPC beat-making machine. “Look who stopped by to cook some beets,” he writes in the post’s caption.

Of course, Wilson is best known for playing Dwight Schrute in the comedy series, The Office.

Logic is a documented fan of movies and TV shows. He has even teased about his involvement in various films over the years. In 2018, it was announced that he was set to star in a film produced by J.J. Abrams. However, it’s still yet to see a release and has reportedly been scrapped.

Further showing his passion for motion pictures, the video for his collaboration with Marshmello, “Everyday,” is actually a 10-minute long short film.

Earlier this year, the Maryland native dropped his seventh studio album, Vinyl Days. The monstrous 30-track project shows off his love for old-school boom-bap. Additionally, it finds him spitting verses with a wide array of guests including Wiz Khalifa, RZA and Action Bronson. Furthermore, it features skits from some pop culture figures like J.J. Abrams, Aaron Judge and Anthony Fantano.

It’s certainly not hard to imagine Dwight Schrute delivering an entertaining skit or an intro on a Logic track. We can only hope that we’ll get to hear what they’re making soon.

What do you hope Logic and Rainn Wilson are cooking up? Comment down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest music and pop culture updates.
