Sheff G is already getting back to making music following his release from prison on bail on Friday. He paid $1.5 million to the New York City Department of Corrections to get out. To promote upcoming music, he shared a teaser video of himself in the studio on Instagram, on Sunday.

“Free the guys,” he captioned the post. “Rip the guys, NY WE BACK EVERYTHING LITT. EVERYTHING LITT DROPPING SOON ALL NEW HEAT COMING SOOONN I PROMISE. Appreciate Life, imma have fun w this sh*t #Riptheguysfreetheguys #RIPPOP Brooklyn we HEREEEEEE.” The post has already received over 200,000 likes on the platform.

Sheff G was arrested in 2023 as one of 32 alleged gang members indicted for shootings and other crimes. Ice Spice shared a picture of herself in the studio with Central Cee on Instagram, Sunday afternoon, leaving fans stoked for a possible collaboration between the two. She didn’t share any details, captioning the photo with the single word, “alright.”

“They said they don’t listen to UK rap !! [fire emojis] i’m tooo ready,” one fan commented. “She wasn’t lying about her causing an earthquake we all see that jatty right,” another fan wrote. Several celebrities also commented on the post. SZA remarked, “Dis bout to eat,” while Omeretta The Great left behind several heart-eye emojis.

Back in November, Central Cee discussed Spice during an interview with Complex, explaining that she reminds him of himself. “She reminds me of me a bit… she’s cool innit,” he said at the time. “Humble, down to earth, don’t really care too much about the shiny stuff; but knows how to play the game. Rihanna’s “California King Bed” Was Written In Minutes, Muni Long Recalls

Rihanna’s 2010 Loud cut “California King Bed” remains a fan favorite even over a decade after its release, but according to Muni Long, it didn’t take long at all to write. During a recent interview with Complex, the songstress recalled cooking up the classic in a matter of minutes. According to her, she was in the midst of a major move when she hit the studio to work on the track and rushed through the writing process to get back to shopping for furniture online.

“I was in Miami at the time for ‘California King Bed,’ working out of We The Best studio, and I was actually working with Jermaine [Jackson] from The Runners,” she explained. “They had the chords and everything. I listened, I went back into the room, and they gave me the file.”

“I wrote the song in like 10 minutes. I was like, ‘Turn it up, let me get this done real quick,’ so I could go back to looking for my furniture,” she admitted. The Florida-born performer also revealed that the song was expected to go to another famous singer. She learned months later that RiRi claimed it. “Originally, they were trying to pitch it to Kelly Clarkson,” she shared. “Then I came back two months later, and my publisher Ryan Press said that they were going to cut it for Rihanna. I was super excited.”

While fans are certainly having a blast looking back on some of the Fenty Beauty founder’s biggest hits, they can’t help but hope for more music. Erick Sermon Credits Dr. Dre For Changing His Approach To Making Music

Erick Sermon says working with Dr. Dre changed his approach to making music. Speaking with HipHopDX for a new interview, Sermon recalled getting in the studio with the legendary producer and learning that his writing process is entirely different than he was expecting.

“We go to Malibu. As soon as I press play, we do one record. I press play again, we do two records. I press play again, we do three records — in one night. The guys said, ‘Erick, we’ve been here for eight years, we ain’t never seen that before. Nobody has done what you did today.’ I put another beat on and he calls Snoop over. Snoop been working on the records that I did. Then I come back and Dre is working on the record that he rapped on. So I said, ‘Yo, let me rap on that. Let me do your style how you rhyme and how you put your records together.’”

From there, Sermon says he pulled out a pen and paper to begin constructing rhymes, but someone told him they “don’t do that here.” He then recalled Smitty telling him: “Dre would say the cadence and then we would all say a rhyme, and then if the rhyme sounds good, then we put that down. So there’s no writing; it’s just 16 bars of whatever your freestyle may be.” Sermon added: “The process was something I had never seen before in my life and had never experienced in my life getting produced by somebody. It makes you not want to [write rhymes] no more. That method is undeniable. You can’t go wrong because you got a room of people that is agreeing with the line and if the line is not right then it doesn’t go. So everything is right… and my verse was spectacular.”

Snoop Dogg Smokes Around His Grandkids In The Studio, Fans Blast Him For It

Snoop Dogg is a smoking icon in hip-hop, acting almost like a mentor in the game when it comes to the chronic. However, it’s a part of his brand as much as it is a part of his lifestyle, which can often cause problems when it comes to how this image translates to a younger generation. Moreover, Tha Doggfather recently faced some backlash for a video he posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday (February 21). In it, he’s in a recording studio with his granddaughters and smokes a blunt, which a lot of people in the comments section took issue with.

“Unk don’t give no f**ks he gon play but he damn sure gon smoke,” one commenter suggested jokingly, although others didn’t share this sentiment. “Like Serioisly … Is there a blunt in his hand in front of the grand babies? Come man, damn,” another chimed in. However, others pointed out that the blunt that Snoop Dogg held wasn’t lit in this clip, so it’s entirely possible that he took a break for some family time, even if he didn’t let it go. Maybe this will be another one of his comical smoking stories in the near future.

Sadly, this news and discussion comes amid a very difficult and tragic time for the Long Beach native. HIs brother on his mother’s side, Bing Worthington, passed away last week at age 44, and his loved ones recently honored his memory and celebrated his life at his funeral service. “Everlastin love Beverly’s boys,” Snoop Dogg captioned a picture of the service, in which he stood by the casket wearing all-red. “Dirty left bing and snoopy [fire emoji] [rose emoji] [dove emoji]. @badabing33 miss that laugh and the way u made us smile keep mama company till we get there [dove emoji] [peace sign emoji].”

Meanwhile, as the 52-year-old continues to process this loss, he is starting to see the fruits of other labors. For example, he and Dr. Dre recently launched a new alcoholic drink named after their iconic track, “Gin & Juice.” Hopefully these grandkids don’t get their hands on this, either. Playboi Carti has fans annoyed as of late. Overall, this is due to the fact that he has yet to drop his album. Although Carti has released five singles over the past couple of months, he has yet to release the album. Ultimately, this has fans aggravated. To make matters worse, he made a mockery out of Adin Ross on stream Sunday night. This has subsequently led to a litany of bad PR. That said, Carti is an artist whose whole mystique is predicated on not caring, and remaining in the shadows.

Recently, however, Carti found himself in Los Angeles, in the studio with Kanye West. Ye is going to be dropping Vultures Volume 1 on Friday, and fans are excited to hear it. Carti is supposed to be featured on the album, and there could be a few more songs between the two, coming down the pipeline. After his studio session last night, Carti was photographed coming out of the office. The images ended up going viral, mostly due to Carti’s unique attire.

Fans immediately began commenting on the outfit, and the reviews were not particularly flattering. People accused Carti of wearing a thong, although it seems like it is more of a bodysuit than anything else. Either way, Carti’s fits have been going viral as of late, and some are not amused with these fashion statements. As you will see below, some fans are claiming that this is having an effect on his aura, whatever that means. At the end of the day, we just want a new album. Whether or not it ever comes, remains to be seen.

Ja Rule & Hitmaka Join Forces For Studio Session

Ja Rule and Hitmaka recently linked up for a studio session, which means there could be some new heat coming from them in the near future. Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t have any sound, so we don’t really know for sure what style or approach they vibed to in the booth. However, we do know that the producer is very versatile and amassed a lot of hits (it’s in the name, folks…), so we’re sure that there could be some great chemistry with the New York rapper. In fact, considering that Ja has another album on the way, hopefully this ends up being one of many beatsmith links that he partook in for its creation.

Furthermore, Hitmaka’s still keeping busy with his career, even if some potential beef with King Harris, T.I., and Tiny might get in the way of a possible collab. Regardless, we can only guess as to what this new work with Ja Rule could sound like, especially considering their storied artistry. Will they tackle flashy, old-school 2000s beats to evoke the previous era or will we see the MC ride more contemporary production? Either way, these career revitalizations are always a treat to see in hip-hop, even if the results can sometimes make this hype vanish. Fingers crossed for this one!

Of course, we know that Ja Rule is very confident in his skills and success, as he thinks no top 50 rappers list is complete without him. “I’m not a hater,” he said of Billboard and VIBE‘s top 50 MCs list, which left him off, during a recent appearance on The Tamron Hall Show. “Congrats to everyone on the list. [But] these lists, they’re meaningless because music is subjective. You like who you want to like, you know everybody has their favorite artist… But my thing was: this is a list comprised by Billboard. They do numbers and statistics, if I’m not mistaken. Okay so, that list is impossible to make without Ja Rule being on it -–statistically impossible.

“There are artists that don’t have number one records, don’t have number one albums,” the “Always On Time” spitter continued. “I’m not knocking anybody on the list because, like I said, music is subjective… And when it comes to some of the older artists, you kind of got to go by different metrics because they didn’t have the sales. What’s more is that this excitement ramped up thanks to the Cleveland creative walking back his retirement announcement from last year.

Furthermore, Kid Cudi expressed as such during an interview with Zane Lowe discussing his new album INSANO, his creative path, and so much more. “I was kind of out of it,” he remarked concerning his commitment to hanging it up. “I was just in this place where I was thinking about my future. Meek Mill & Fivio Foreign Meet Up Amid Theory That They’re The Same Person

A lot of rappers have plenty of similarities: their crews, styles, flows, regional loyalties, life experiences.. you name it. However, what’s more rare to see is when fans notice parallels between two completely different MCs from two completely different cities. It’s almost as if they create a multiverse through their head-canon, and a viral Twitter discussion posited that Fivio Foreign and Meek Mill are each other’s equivalents in their respective cities. The reason as to why is up for debate, but we know the Philly MC and Kanye West collaborator– perhaps future collaborator– get along well. Moreover, the two recently enjoyed a fruitful and hype studio session in a new clip they shared to social media.

Furthermore, it would be great to see these two link up for another energetic track together, such as 2020’s “Demons & Goblins.” As for whether Meek Mill and Fivio Foreign are clones of each other, there are certainly many ways in which you could draw these connections. One is their unwavering dedication to their cities, and another is their rapping style and how they typically handle their subject material in their verses. But the same can be said for so many other lyricists, so maybe this is more of a direct talent and relevance comparison, which is impossible to firmly assess.

For example, DJ Akademiks recently called him out, plus Freddie Gibbs, while responding to various sexual assault and grooming allegations against him. “There’s been numerous individuals who probably felt certain way about me over the years,” the media personality stated on his livestream, insinuating the Dream Chasers boss as his target. “Maybe their career wasn’t doing that good. They had to do some bunny-hopping for billionaires, had to sell their houses, they got dropped from their label. They might have thought that I was one of the reasons why their situation went down.”

You runnin’ this sh*t.” In another post, the two perform along to what appears to be a new collaboration. “My daddy dead and my momma dyin’/ On my daughter, I’m just out here trying,’” The Game raps.

The post had fans on Instagram stoked for the team-up. “Big hit got a verse from game with out a name drop!?!?!?” one user commented. Another wrote: “Sh*t sounds f*ckin nuts [fire emoji].”

Big Hit recently collaborated with his son, Hit-Boy, to drop his first project since getting out of prison, The Truth Is In My Eyes. The two celebrated its release at Bottom Bunk Sneaker House in Los Angeles, earlier this month. Hit-Boy discussed the gravity of the moment in a candid post on social media at the time. “Being in elementary school telling people me and my dad were gonna make music together one day when he’s back out on the streets,” he captioned a post. “Over the years we have had points where he touched down for a second maybe a few months MAX and we started recording and making some progress. Then he’d let the streets win and he’d end up right back in the cell for years at a time.”
