Katt Williams Trolls Celebrity Guests For Attending Diddy’s Parties

Katt Williams took aim at celebrities who attended Diddy’s parties in an attempt to network in the entertainment industry during his latest stand-up set. The jokes come after authorities arrested Diddy in New York City, last month, on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. The Bad Boy mogul has already pleaded not guilty to the alleged crimes.

“You know how many celebrities went to Diddy’s house thinking they was gonna dance? How does that feel? You a grown ass man, you gotta leave Diddy’s party like that,” Williams joked in a clip caught by DJ Akademiks. “You can’t even sit down in the car, you gotta drive all the way home standing up. Can’t roll the window down. You roll that window down, have breeze hit that open asshole.”

Elsewhere in the stand-up set, Williams joked about federal agents allegedly finding 1,000 bottles of baby oil during the homeland security raids on Diddy’s properties, earlier this year. He mentioned Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, who downplayed the seriousness of the allegation by noting that there’s a Costco nearby his home. “P. Diddy’s dumb-ss lawyer said, ‘He probably got it at Costco.’ Costco hit right back and said, ‘We don’t even sell baby oil,” he remarked at one point, before adding, “You thinking you getting a massage — b-tch you can’t even get up. That’s why God gave me eczema, I can’t even use baby oil.”

Agnifilo has already confirmed to TMZ that Diddy will not be taking a plea deal in the case and plans to proclaim his innocence in court. Reggie Watts Has Words Of Wisdom For Fearless Creators

reggie_watts(1024x450)
Veeps

Reggie Watts is the former bandleader/in-house musician for both Comedy Bang! Bang! and The Late Late Show, a comedian with a new special available to stream on Veeps, a musician, a writer, an improviser, and creative force of nature. Pushing back on the expected is Watts’ forte, crafting 2024’s most unique special, a comedy and music filled period piece set in the hopeful pre-internet mid-’90s.

Below, in our latest quick check-in with the most interesting voices in comedy culture, Watts talks about the benefits of growing up in the tech/social media pre-dawn, who he’s listening to, his comedy and music heroes, what he’d tell young comics about finding their own unique voice, and not being afraid of failure.

What was your first concert?

My first concert was Fugazi in Missoula, Montana.

What are the last 3 records you bought or albums you listened to?

Gosh, that’s a really good question. I’ve been listening to the song “My City” by Juliet Mendoza on repeat. The Marias Submarine, that’s an amazing album. And “Flight FM” by Joy Orbison.

Who are the artists across comedy and music that you grew up loving?

There are so many. I grew up with a lot of Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. I loved watching them when I was younger. Carol Burnett, Prince, Michael Jackson, Ministry, The Smithereens, just so many.

As an improviser, is there still a fear of failure when you are on stage, and if so, how do you use that energy?

I don’t really have a fear of failure when I’m onstage but I do have a fear of letting an audience down if I’m not connecting to them and I think I like using that as my energy source. And the constant newness is what’s exciting and new for me onstage.

What was behind the decision to base this latest special in the ’90s?

Yeah, I just wanted to base it in the ’90s because I wanted to recreate some of the hopefulness that we felt in the mid-90’s about the future and about the internet and just the absurdity of pretending it’s another time period on stage.

What are the bits from ‘90s culture that you think have had the most influence on your work and on culture in general?

I think the counterculture movement of the ’90s — especially growing up in Seattle — [has] always had a big effect on how I’m perceiving the world and how I’m creating things. I think just the camaraderie that I had with my friends back then kind of motivated me to always put friendship first. And just the ability to have the freedom to think and do what I want to do.

What are the benefits and drawbacks of being someone who has lived pre-internet and within the internet era?

Well, I think there’s really only benefits. You know, I got to live my childhood and teen years with no phones but with computers and computer games and things like that because the internet thankfully came along after high school. It really allowed me to have a normal, organic, human based upbringing. And then the internet came around at exactly the right time, for me, and I loved the expansion of the technology and where it’s gone since. I think I’ve experienced the perfect technological curve in my lifetime.

What advice do you have for aspiring comics and performers when it comes to experimentation and expectations?

I think just try not to self analyze. Try not to just do the things that people expect from you. I think it’s important to kind of adopt like a “fuck it” kind of attitude. As long as you’re caring about your audience, that’s really the main thing. Just have a good time with it.

Who is your dream collaborator and why?

Dream dead collaborator would probably have to be Prince — I would’ve loved to do something with him. I don’t know if our styles would have matched because he definitely seems pretty… writer-ly and structure-ly and super rehearsed but I bet you he could definitely get on board with where I’m coming from.

Dream alive collaborator I think would be Björk. I think she’s just a polymath, you know? She does so many things, she’s multimedia and I think she just has a vision for all forms of media that she’s involved in and I really like that.

Funny Marco Reveals Why He Canceled Stand-Up Tour With Bobbi Althoff

Funny Marco has released a video speaking at length about his decision to cancel his joint tour with Bobbi Althoff. In the candid update, he explains that, while he still loves Althoff, their comedic styles weren’t meshing the way he had hoped. He says neither of them is in the wrong and it boils down to a difference of opinion.

“I love Bobbi to death, Bobbi is a good person… I don’t have sh*t bad to say about nobody,” he began. “But when people pay they hard working money I really care about that. When I’m on a stand-up tour, and I’m selling out these tours, and then me and Bobbi being able to come together and people are paying they money to come see us, I really want that to get better.”

“I did stand-up before and I’m still doing it so I understand I’m learning how to entertain a crowd and it’s not the same thing that you get on Instagram. … And I feel like Bobbi was stiff a little bit,” he added. From there, he explained that he hired script writers but Althoff was against the idea of working with them. “It was hurting me because I know people are paying they hard[-earned money]. …and I wanted it to get better but Bobbi was just in her way of doing it how she wanted to do it, and I was in my way of doing it how I wanted to do it. So, nobody was in the wrong when it came to that,” he said. “I just wanted more out of Bobbi. I wanted her to dance more, I wanted her to talk.” Check out the full explanation below.

The two had been performing together since May and were scheduled to conclude the tour on August 17 in Kansas City. Earlier this year, Althoff dealt with accusations of copying Marco’s interview style, which prompted her to offer him $20K for “putting her on.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Funny Marco and Bobbi Althoff on HotNewHipHop.

Pete Davidson Fires Back At Fan Who Accused Him Of Being Racist

Pete Davidson fired back at an audience member after performing at the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night. The fan had accused the former Saturday Night Live star of making a racist joke on stage. According to the U.S. Sun, Davidson returned to the stage after his set with fellow comedians Jon Stewart and John Mulaney to speak with the audience.

At this point, a fan shouted out that Davidson is a “racist.” In response, he quickly fired back “You’re a cunt. Sit the fuck down!” Stewart attempted to calm the situation down by joking “clean up in aisle 3.” The three comedians soon walked off stage.

As for the woman’s reasoning, a source told the outlet: “He was talking about his realtor, who is black. And he said the realtor was showing him homes, and he called the big room the ‘master bedroom’.” Davidson then did a bit about himself being “the master,” before being corrected by the realtor, who explained that the term is now “primary bedroom” because “master was named after slavery.”

The interaction comes after Davidson checked himself into rehab earlier this year. He was battling with his borderline personality disorder and PTSD. “Pete regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune ups’ and to take a mental break, so that’s what’s happening,” a source told Page Six at the time. Speaking with actress Glenn Close during Variety’s Actors On Acting, Davidson revealed in 2020: “I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it.” The latest ordeal also comes after Davidson and his ex-girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, split up. A source for PEOPLE reported that Davidson is “out and about and doing really well,” last week.
