Jackson State University Renames Stadium Tunnel “Paper Route Tunnel” In Honor Of Young Dolph

Young Dolph’s legacy will be remembered anytime anyone steps foot in Jackson State’s Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium tunnel. The prestige historical black college university will change the name of its tunnel in commemoration of Young Dolph.

The new name of the covered passage will be called the Paper Route Tunnel. The school held a press conference with coach Deion Sanders and the players where the university’s representatives revealed the new name.

“We should rename it,” said a Jackson State spokesperson. “The name of the tunnel should be called Paper Route Tunnel. In memory of Young Dolph, the life and legacy.”

The relationship between Dolph and JSU grew when the late Memphis rapper showed up to Jackson State’s 28-7 homecoming victory over Alabama State in October. After the game, Dolph joined the team’s celebration in the locker room. They got lit to his “100 Shots” song, and the video clip went viral on social media.

Since Jackson State University has memorialized Young Dolph, his legacy will forever live there.

SOURCE SPORTS: adidas Teams Highlight “More Is Possible” During Sweet 16 Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Title IX

During the Sweet 16 games, adidas sponsored teams wore More Is Possible t-shirts with language directly from the Title IX legislation on the back.

adidas continues to raise awareness for Title IX’s 50th anniversary by having partner school teams wear “More Is Possible” t-shirts during warm-ups at both women’s and men’s Sweet 16 games, as well as when teams progress through the tournaments. The shirts will convey a significant message – incorporating words directly from Title IX legislation – reminding fans and athletes to push the bounds of possibility:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”  

The “More Is Possible” tees are a follow-up to adidas’ announcement earlier this week that it had become the first major sports brand to implement a broad-based, equitable, and inclusive Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) network, which is open to every eligible student-athlete at an adidas-partnered NCAA Division 1 university – which includes more than 50,000 students.

As you may know, Tom Brady’s retirement lasted all of two months. When the greatest football player of all-time retired, his friend and one of his most notable rivals, Peyton Manning, penned a letter congratulating him on his career. Now Manning is joking about that letter, saying he wants it back.

“I want the letter back,” Manning said at an event hosted by The MINT Collective on Saturday. “You got to read all these nice things, I want it back. I want the bottle of wine back, too.”

[WATCH] Wrestling Legend Triple H Announces Retirement After Suffering from Heart Failure

Last September, Paul “Triple H” Levesque had a “cardiac event” leading to the legendary wrestler and WWE executive missing time from the company. For the first time since the incident, Triple H made a public appearance, sitting with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

Triple H stated that he found out he had heart failure when he got pneumonia.

“My lungs were inflamed, and as the next couple days went on after I got home it got increasingly worse. My wife [Stephanie McMahon] saw some blood and stuff that I was coughing up, and went and got checked. It was coming from the viral pneumonia, but I had fluid in my lungs, I had some fluid around my heart.

“So they followed up on it, did an EKG and echo[cardiogram]. Basically, the way your heart pumps out, 55 to 65 percent of your injection fracture is a good number. I was at 30 [percent]. I got a quick text message saying, ‘Don’t take time, pack a bag real quick, head to the emergency room. I’ll fill you in on the way.’”

Triple H revealed his ejection fracture had dropped as low as 12 and stated he was “nose diving” and was “sort of at the one-yard line of where you need to be, or where you don’t want to be.”

Triple H would go on to get a bit emotional in the conversation, reflecting how his world changed and how it could impact his three daughters. “Suddenly, I come home and I’m a little bit sick, and their dad, who’s strong, always, suddenly is in the hospital. I don’t know if they understood the consequences of it, but there’s moments in there when they’re putting you out for stuff [pauses to collect himself] and you think, ‘Is this it? Do you wake from this?’ That’s tough to swallow.”

Triple H would go on to tell Stephen A. that his time in the wrestling ring is over. “I’m done. I won’t — I will never wrestle again. First of all, I have a defibrillator in my chest, which it’s not a good idea for me zapped on live TV.”

Could we be getting a Floyd “Money” Mayweather verse in 2022? The undefeated boxing legend was photographed in the studio with popular NFL Wide Receiver Antonio Brown that has, of course, gone viral. The photo surfaced on Thursday morning (Mar 24), which shows AB and Floyd laughing with the billionaire in front of a mic, appearing to be rapping. No audio has surfaced; therefore, a collaboration between the two is merely speculation.

The possible collaboration would mark Mayweather’s music debut. Mayweather has been around hip hop his entire career, even as far as launching his record label, TMT, several years ago. However, the label has yet to produce a single release.

AB has been recording in Miami this week, preparing for his forthcoming debut album. AB has been in album mode since his controversial abrupt exit from his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during last season’s game against the New York Jets in January. The Buccaneers and AB have parted ways since. After the departure, AB released his new single, “Pit Not the Palace,” which has already accumulated over million views on YouTube.

Earlier this month, Antonio Brown linked up with Young Thug for a forthcoming music video. No official word on the release of the collaboration at press time. Brown is scheduled to perform at this year’s Rolling Loud in Miami.

Outside music, Brown, arguably the best wide receiver in the league, is set to have surgery on his ankle and begin searching for his next NFL team. Brown’s music is distributed via Vydia. More on the story as it becomes available.

Last June, Bloomberg reports Harden and Saks will work together to grow high-potential consumer brands, along with Harden offering his viewpoint as a fashion enthusiast.

“As we work to build this new board, James is an important and valuable addition. With experience in growing businesses and as someone who values self-expression through fashion, I am confident that he will bring a distinct point of view that will help us better deliver for our customers,” Saks Executive Chairman Richard Baker said in a statement. “His expertise, combined with that of our other board members, will enable Saks to further capitalize on the significant growth opportunity within luxury e-commerce.”

Harden’s business portfolio now expands to include BodyArmor drinks, Stance socks, and Pura fragrances. Those efforts are alongside his sneaker and apparel deal with Adidas.

Off the court and outside of fashion, Harden is also making his presence felt in Hip-Hop. The Brooklyn Nets superstar was named an executive producer of the Lil Baby and Lil Durk joint album Voice of the Heroes.

The McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee has updated its list of the 45 Greatest All-Time Boys Players in Games history to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the McDonald’s All American Games. Since the list was last updated in 2017 for the 40th annual Games, there have been five new entries. The 45th annual McDonald’s All American Games will be held on March 29 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, and these latest additions to the roster arrive just in time.

The new members of the list include All American Games Alumni Chauncey Billups (1995), Chris Bosh (2002), Chris Webber (1991), Jermaine O’Neal (1996), Rasheed Wallace (1993).

Previous members of the 45 Greatest Boys List include LeBron James, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Kevin Love, Kobe Bryant, Grant Hill, Shaquille O’Neal, and more hoops legends. Former NFL Running Back Mark Walton Arrested For Armed Robbery In Miami

According to a report from the New York Post, former NFL running back Mark Walton has been arrested for an alleged armed robbery that took place last month in Mami.

Police in Miami say that Walton and another man brandished guns following a confrontation, demanding everything from the alleged victim. Authorities claim that Walton and his accomplice made off with a Rolex watch in the stick up.

Jail records show Walton was charged with robbery/armed/firearm or deadly weapon.

The 2018 4th round draft pick played for the Bengals for his first season out of U. of Miami, but played for the Dolphins the following year. According to the Post, the 24-year-old RB “was released by the Bengals after he was arrested three times, and then by the Dolphins after he was accused of attacking a woman who was pregnant with his child.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Brittney Griner Meets with U.S. Officials, Doing “Well”

WNBA star and Olympic Gold Medalist Brittney Griner met with U.S. consular officers on Wednesday in Russia. She is stated to be in “well” condition.” Griner has been in Russian custody since Feb. 17, for allegedly attempting to bring vape cartridges with hashish oil into the country.

“A U.S. consular official was able to verify that she is doing as well as can be expected,” U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price said to ESPN. “We’ll continue to work closely with her legal team and her broader network.”

Prior to the meeting, Russian officials were stated to have denied access to Griner, a violation of international-law requirements. Griner had kept in contact with her family through her Russian legal representation. Griner is currently in pretrial detainment, which currently has an investigation period that will expire on May 19. Russian prosecutors can petition for an additional extension and has up to 18 months before she is brought to trial.

SOURCE SPORTS: Zion Williamson Throws Down Between the Legs Dunk During Rehab Workout

Zion Williamson is shut down for the season but he is putting the NBA on notice for next year. Williamson was cleared for one-on-one play and has even been seen throwing down between the legs dunks off the backboard.

Williamson is back with the team in New Orleans after spending two months in Portland for rehab on a fractured right foot.

“As far as right now, the update is the update. Z is still out indefinitely,” Pelicans coach Willie Green said. “We’re still working being fully healthy, which he’s not. But he’s getting there. We’ll update you guys at that point if we get to that point.”
