Giggs & Diddy Address The “Mandem” On Their New Single

Since delivering a strong contender for Song of the Summer in the form of “Act Bad” with the City Girls, Diddy has been mostly focusing his efforts on promoting that. This New Music Friday (August 4), however, he has a new track to share with the world – “Mandem.” The song finds Puff connecting with UK artist and his longtime friend, Giggs, and is set to appear on the latter’s upcoming Zero Tolerance album.

As Hypebeast notes, the LP has a release date of August 18. It will also mark the 15-year anniversary of Giggs’ debut project, Walk In Da Park. Knowing this, it makes sense that the South London-based MC opted to rap over rugged, low-end production on “Mandem,” as a tribute to the earlier sounds he created for fans. “I never understand them, I hold my hands out and they disrespect my hands them / Even disrespect my mandem / And use man, they brought us ’round these f**kin’ randoms,” the 40-year-old reflects amid his fast-paced rhymes.

Giggs Prepares for His Zero Tolerance Album with Diddy Collab

Besides honing his creative craft, Giggs has also been spending plenty of time outside this summer. He was spotted supporting renowned footballer Lionel Messi at his debut game for Inter Miami, where DJ Khaled was also hanging out. His “Mandem” collaborator was in the building as well. Months prior to that link-up, we saw Sean Combs proudly showing off some slang from over the pond that his foreign rapper friend taught him.

KayCyy Delivers Hypnotic Vocals On New Track “My Jeans”

KayCyy is an artist who has been buzzing for a minute now. However, it was Kanye West’s DONDA that truly put him on the map. His vocals on “Keep My Spirit Alive” remain one of the best parts of the entire album. Moreover, he acted as an insider as he was present for many of the conversations leading up to the album’s release. More recently, KayCyy was a featured voice on Travis Scott’s Utopia.

Unfortunately, KayCyy didn’t get his proper credit. Once Travis made the features public, he didn’t add KayCyy to the song “Thank God.” Of course, the artist was not happy about this, and voiced his displeasure on social media. Furthermore, he revealed some cover art that says “I’m Not No Background Singer.” Fans immediatey figured this song would be a Travis Scott diss. Instead, it is a track called “My Jeans” that KayCyy had been waiting to drop for some time now.

Ciara And Chris Brown Party Together On “How We Roll”

Two of the best R&B voices join forces once more on a new single. Ciara and Chris Brown have dropped their track “How We Roll,” and this is one that has been mentioned to us before. In April, Brown shared with his Instagram followers that he had some heat coming with Ciara and it is finally here. These two collaborated in 2009 with “Turntables” on Ciara’s album Fantasy Ride.

In the music video below, both crooners show off their dancing expertise as both of the parties they speak about in the music video, come together. They share a dance toward the end and it certainly had to have been a fun time shooting it. Both are singing, in harmony at times, about getting ready to get down and dirty with their partner. Furthermore, they express that it is their love and that they should not care about how other people view their relationship.

Stirring Up Controversy

As most music fans and people around the world know, Chris Brown has a troubling past that still comes up. For example, he was supposed to perform at the AMA last year during the Michael Jackson Tribute. But, it can be assumed that it was due to the situation surrounding Rihanna. Couple that with Jackson’s situation he was involved with, and it most likely was not the best choice for the producers to have that happen. Twitter users were certainly not afraid to sound off on Ciara making music with Brown again saying, “Ewww, why is Ciara platforming Chr*s Br*wn knowing he’s an abuser?”

What are your overall thoughts on the song? Do you think that Ciara should not work with Chris Brown based on other fans’ reactions? Make sure to tell us what you think in the comments section below. As always, stay tuned into HNHH for all the news around music and new songs.

Quotable Lyrics:

Jordan Ward & 6LACK Shine On A Tender & Nostalgic New Single, “MUSTARD”

Jordan Ward is one of the most exciting voices coming up across any genre, although to call him on the come-up sounds unfitting. After all, following cosigns from the likes of Tyler, The Creator and this new collab single with 6LACK, the 28-year-old is quickly establishing himself as a bright voice with star potential. Moreover, this new track “MUSTARD” highlights Ward’s penchant for sincere and subtle songwriting filled with detail on closer inspection. It’s an acoustic guitar-led cut with dry but warm percussion that’s a perfect soundtrack for a day around the park. Lyrically, though, it centers around rebirth and change, making for a sweetly melancholy song with a lot of emotive weight behind it.

What’s more is that the vocal embellishments throughout, like background vocals and ad-libs, add a lot of atmosphere to “MUSTARD.” Jordan Ward sings with a slightly pitched-up voice that fits its reflections on the past quite well, while 6LACK keeps his signature soulful drawl. However, even though the track might sound simple at first, a few elements reveal the fleshed-out structure beneath. For example, wavy and low-toned synthesizers close the track out, and more effect-heavy guitar chords accentuate the chorus. Overall, it’s all held together by a sticky and distinct vocal melody for the chorus that makes for one of the catchiest and most tender ones you’ll hear all week.

Kali Uchis Taps JT And El Alfa For Latin-Flavored Banger “Muñekita”

Earlier this year Kali Uchis promised fans not just one, but two new albums this year. She also communicated to fans that one project would be entirely in English and the other entirely in Spanish. So far she seems to be living up to all of those promises. Back in March, she dropped Red Moon In Venus an English language embrace of Kali’s R&B stylings. Red Moon has features from Omar Apollo, Summer Walker, and Don Toliver and the album became Kali’s highest-charting project to date when it debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200.

Now Kali Uchis appears to be on her way to releasing a second album and just as she promised, it will be in Spanish. Details on the album aren’t available yet, but its lead single is officially out. The track is called “Muñekita” and features a pair of guests who make impressive contributions. JT of rap duo City Girls and dembow superstar El Alfa join Kali on the track. Together the trio create a tropical Latin trap banger that fans have already heaved praise onto. The song marks Kali’s first new Spanish language song since her 2020 album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞. You can listen to Kali’s new single below.

Kali Uchis Returns To Spanish Songs

In the press release dropped alongside the song Kali elaborated on how she chooses collaborators. “I love bringing artists together that you’d least expect. Wiz Khalifa is a man with plenty of confidence – there’s no denying that. Still, on today’s New Music Friday (August 4) release, the “Taylor Gang” hitmaker made it clear that even he needs to hear words of affirmation from time to time. “I ain’t got a gun but their hands to the ceilin’ / I ain’t palm readin’ but I got ’em in their feelings, yeah,” the 35-year-old spits on his first verse. “Ain’t Vanilla Ice but I’m iced out, chillin’ / Was the good guy ’til they made me the villain,” he continues, reflecting on the public’s perception of him.

Cordae Is Confused On “Make Up Your Mind”

Cordae has been on a tear as of late with his recent singles. “Doomsday,” a song to appear on Lyrical Lemonade’s debut album, saw him and the late great, Juice WRLD, trade bars over Eminem’s “Role Model.” He also teamed up with the jack-of-all-trades, Anderson .Paak on “Two Tens.” The J. Cole-produced track contains catchy flows and a smooth and simple head-bobbing-beat. So, it is only right for Cordae to keep up the moment and release more heat for the fans.

However, this new song “Make Up Your Mind,” goes in an unexpected direction. Cordae is known for bodying boom-bap and trap beats, but this groove wants to get you funky on the dance floor. It’s definitely a change of pace for someone who always brings bars and hard-hitting verses. Any time an artist goes 180 degrees with their sound it can leave fans divided, but this song has a undeniable vibe.

’80s Disco Fun

This new cut from Cordae has him making clever comparisons, while simultaneously poking fun at why some girls can never make up their minds. It has an earworm of a pre-chorus: “I said, she love me (Love me) She love me not
But she don’t got not damn clue about what she wants.” The “Love Me” background vocals are shouted out in a way, referencing ’80s disco and it gives tons of personality to the track. In the quotable lyrics, he makes a fun reference to his significant other, Naomi Osaka, who’s parents are Haitian and Japanese, even though the line mentions that her mom is Korean.

It’s a different style for Cordae and his fanbase so we want to know, how are you feeling about this track? Do you want to see him tackle different genres? Tell us all of your thoughts and opinions down in the comments section. Stay tuned into HNHH for all the newest and hottest songs every weekend.
