Quando Rondo Drops Single “Cash” Amid Federal Drug Charges

Georgia rapper Quando Rondo is dealing with a lot of outside noise right now. Unfortunately, he could be serving up to two decades worth of prison time. On December 10, the 24-year-old rapper was originally arrested without incident. He was simply a passenger in a vehicle and was the only one in handcuffs by the FBI on federal drug charges.

A couple of days later, we learned more about the situation. Rondo was involved in conspiracy to possess and distribute various drugs. Those substances included marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. The accusations date back to 2021 as well. So, it is safe to say Rondo is not in the best state now, but he did manage to get a track out today to sort of address all of it.

Channel Tres, since he entered the music industry in the late 2010s decade, has positioned himself to be a very versatile artist. He thrives in the dance and house genres, respectively. However, he is also a talented rapper at the same time. Usually, when you hear dance/house artists on a song, they are singing. But, Tres can do it all.

In the present and years past, he has been showing us that he is the ultimate Swiss Army knife. Earlier this year, Channel brought his cool and effortless flows to SG Lewis’s sophomore project, AudioLust & HigherLove. He is on perhaps the best track, “Fever Dreamer.” Then, just about a week or so ago, Tres delivered another solid performance to KAYTRANADA’s EP, Lover/Friend.

Toosii Has An “IDGAF” Attitude On His New Single

Toosii’s growth as an artist since he came into the industry back in 2018 has been exciting. He is only a 23-year-old which is another component to all of this. He has so much more room to grow, especially with his dabbling in rapping and singing. In 2023, he has been putting in work to solidify these skills.

In early June, Toosii came out with maybe his best full listen to date with NAUJOR. It is named after his government name, Nau’Jour Grainger. It featured one of his biggest and best songs, “Favorite Song.” He is already gearing up for another project soon to come.

NLE Choppa Takes Pot Shots At Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, & Chrisean Rock On “Shotta Flow 7”

NLE Choppa’s 2023 has been an eventful one, to say the least. The Memphis rapper is sort of a goofy character in the current hip-hop scene. Honestly, though, it is always a treat to see what the 21-year-old artist is going to do next. He had a lot of people talking after hearing his rendition of Nelly’s classic hit with “IT’S GETTING HOT.”

Outside of music, Choppa has said and done some things online that have caused debate as well. Back in August, he posted an unsolicited feet picture in a random photo dump on Instagram. In October, he had people worried about his safety after he “disappeared” to his hometown to shoot a music video. All in all, it has been a whirlwind of a year for him, and this new track caps one to remember for sure.

NLE is bringing his beloved “Shotta Flow” series to an end with the seventh entry. It boasts production credits from Tay Keith and may feature some of the funniest bars out of them all. The first line in the first verse takes an unexpected shot at Chrisean Rock, and it is quite funny. “I was missin’ the action like Chrisean tooth.” But, that is not the only notable line. “Wanna f*** Kim K and make Kanye watch,” is another one. Finally, for good measure here is one more, “Back leg loose like a n**** had to poot.” This is pure poetry and we are going to miss the series deeply after this one.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Shotta Flow 7,” by NLE Choppa? Where does this installment rank amongst the rest of the “Shotta Flow” series? Does this one contain the funniest bars out of all seven of them, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Lil Yachty Continues To Grow His Talents Within Psych Rock On Movie Soundtrack Cut “The Paradigm”

Lil Yachty has become a polarizing figure in 2023. He might have been already controversial simply based on his style of rap. However, this time around is a little different. Back at the beginning of the year, he took a big risk by dipping his toes into a whole other genre.

Of course, we are referring to his January release, Let’s Start Here. A lot of people were on board with this switch-up. But, there was also an audience that was not for it, maybe based on previous dispositions. On top of that, Yachty also has people groaning over his takes on the state of rap, as well as his ability to out spit a majority of his contemporaries.

Listen To “The Paradigm” By Lil Yachty

Even with all of that hate, you cannot deny that Yachty has done some sensational things for music. There were plenty of great cuts on the trippy rock LP, and his singles, especially the one with J. Cole, have been memorable. Now, he is reverting to experimenting once again with a new track. “The Paradigm” is another psychedelic rock piece that features production from SADPONY, for example, who had a hand with Let’s Start Here. This song lands on a soundtrack for a brand-new Netflix film called Leave the World Behind. It is available to stream now and features performances from Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Bacon, and more.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new track, “The Paradigm,” by Lil Yachty? After hearing this, do you think he should continue to expand his sound in the psychedelic rock space, why or why not? Does this song compete with anything off of Let’s Start Here.? Tems Is Cutting Her Losses On Her New Single “Not An Angel”

Tems has been developing a name for herself. The Nigerian-born multi-talented singer started releasing material to streaming back in 2018. However, things really started to take off for her around 2020 when she released her debut project, For Broken Ears. In terms of ingratiating herself with hip-hop listeners, Tems got a lot of people talking with her feature on Future’s 2022 record. That of course, was his album I NEVER LIKED YOU.

She landed on one of the hits from it, “WAIT FOR U,” with Drake. Before that, the 28-year-old also appeared on Drizzy’s 2021 tape, Certified Lover Boy. She provided her stunning voice on “Fountains.” Besides a few high-profile placements, Tems usually is quiet when it comes to new material.

Dro Kenji Puts Out A Somber Acoustic Ballad With “CALM”

South Carolina rapper and singer, Dro Kenji, has gotten off to a fast start in his still-budding career. After getting his start on streaming back in 2019, the genre-bending artist has dropped nine projects in those four years. It was just about three months ago when the multi-talented creator pushed out WISH YOU WERE HERE. It was a 17-track album with contributions from only two features.

Those were Mike Dimes and Powers Pleasant. They both were on the same song as well, named “PAMPER PAMPER.” We covered Dro’s tape when it came out and we mentioned the sounds he likes to explore. To keep it brief he is an amalgamation of artists like XXXTENTACION and Juice WRLD. Like those two, Dro likes to experiment with his sound.

Listen To “CALM” By Dro Kenji

That is what he does on this newest single, “CALM.” Genius had the lyrics for it back in June of this year, but Dro just released it this weekend. This song features nothing but guitar, as he goes acoustic with it. It is a short two-minute tale about how he wants to never lose this love interest who makes him feel safe and calm. However, his mental state is a bit scrambled. “Are you lost or am I wrong? / I thought I lost you, was I wrong?” It is a beautifully emotional ballad and you should give it a listen.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “CALM,” by Dro Kenji? Where does this song place for you amongst the rest of the material that the artist has dropped this year?
