Over the last several months, Latto and Sexyy Red have been pitted against each other online. Many outsiders have felt that the two leading ladies in hip-hop possess some sort of hatred for each other. This belief seemingly began back in October, shortly after working on the same remix, that being Young Nudy’s “Peaches & Eggplants” single. A video of Latto, her sister, and some friends made the rounds as they were all rocking True Religion jeans. Sexyy Red then seemingly took a subliminal shot at her, saying “All these celebrities wasn’t wearing @truereligion until @sexyyred came out 😭😭”. However, just one day after the speculation, the Hood Hottest Princess put all of that to bed, “Definitely not shading her I’m direct wit it whatever I gotta say”.

Then, late last month, the “Get It Sexyy” hitmaker had to once again shut down any beef rumors. Her little sister tried to push that Latto was once again copying her older sibling musically this time. Red stepped in, “I didn’t say nun about this girl period. I don’t have ah problem with @latto”. To essentially retire any possible remaining arguments that these two have it out for one another, Latto and Sexyy Red were enjoying a crazy night out at a dinner party.

Latto & Her Sis, Sexyy Red, & Flo Milli Had A Blast

According to AllHipHop, the two were twerking up a storm while “Get It Sexyy” was blasting at the restaurant. Flo Milli and Latto’s sister were the other notable girlies joining them, as a separate video shows them being goofy by making a TikTok inspired by a popular sound. On top of closing the beef chapter, this night is a sign for something else. With Latto getting ready to release Sugar Honey Iced Tea, we can only hope that they were discussing a possible collaboration for the project. The features are one of the major unknowns surrounding the album, so hopefully they have been working in secrecy!

Sexyy Red Addresses Rumor That She’s Performing At Donald Trump Rally

Sexyy Red has had a controversial rise to fame. She’s dominated the charts with her aggressive style, but her bluntness has also garnered her lots of critics. Nowhere are her critics more vocal than when it comes to her politics. The rapper told This Weekend podcast host Theo Von that she’s a fan of Donald Trump, and the rap community was not pleased. Sexyy Red’s stance, however, lend credence to the rumor that she was performing at Trump’s upcoming campaign rally on August 3.

The rumor seemingly started with a tweet from the account Thee Pop Feed. “Sexyy Red is rumored to perform at Donald Trump’s presidential rally,” the tweet read. The rally is slated to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, which is where Kamala Harris’ July 30th rally took place. Harris landed high-profile appearances from the likes of Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion at her rally. Quavo went as far as to praise Harris for her gun policies in a heartfelt speech. It stands to reason that the rumor about Sexyy Red performing was an attempt to balance out Harris’ hip-hop endorsements. That said, though, the rumor is false.

Sexyy Red Called “Cap” On Campaign Rally Performance

Despite Sexyy Red’s positive comments about Trump, the rapper will not be performing at the former President’s rally. Red went as far as to quote the original Pop Feed tweet and write: “Dey fakin dats cap.” This actually makes sense, given the rapper’s recent course correction. Sexyy Red performed in front of a giant MAGA hat that read: “Make American Sexyy Again” during the 2024 Roots Picnic. The backlash to the performance was severe, and the rapper stated that she would not be endorsing any presidential nominee in the upcoming election.

Well, excluding herself. “It’s Sexyy Red 4 President,” she tweeted on June 3. “I’m my own candidate I’m not endorsing anybody period.” Donald Trump may not have Sexyy Red in his corner, but several other rappers have voiced their support in recent months. Kodak Black told Drink Champs host N.O.R.E. that he “f*cks” with Trump and would happily give the ex-President $1 million if he needed it. Lil Pump has gone as far as to attack Kamala Harris on social media in defense of Trump. His logic, however, wasn’t particularly sound.

Chief Keef Claims His Account Was Hacked After Tweeting “Trump 2024”

Chief Keef is a polarizing figure. He’s considered by many to be one of the most influential rappers of the 2010s. He also has encountered legal problems for the entirety of his career. Chief Keef is unapologetic about who he is, and that’s part of why fans have continued to rock with his music. The rapper’s recent political statements, however, have rubbed those same fans the wrong way. Keef posted a photo of him standing at a podium. He tweeted “Trump 2024” alongside the photo. Bizarrely, the rapper claimed that his account was hacked mere hours later.

Chief Keef took to Instagram to alert his fans about the hack. “Twitter is hacked,” he wrote over a black background. “Management.” The timing of the hack is strange, especially given that the statement about the hack does not address what the hacker posted. It’s unclear if the “Trump 2024” tweet is being laid at the feet of the hacker, or something Chief Keef claims. This is not, however, the first time the rapper has publicly discussed Donald Trump. Following Trump’s arrest in August 2023, Chief Keef posted an edit of the former President throwing up gang signs.

Chief Keef Hyped Up Donald Trump’s Arrest Back In 2023

The rapper proceeded to praise Trump, and claim that he will do well in prison. “Nah my boy in dat b*tch bangin on dem folks,” he wrote over the photoshopped image. “I know whatever deck he on he good in the hood for sure he finna run the prison. That boy finna be eating like a MF all da Blacks finna have my boy back.” This was a far cry from the confusion Chief Keef expressed over Trump in 2018. The Windy City legend was asked what he thought about Kanye West’s endorsement of Trump, and he claimed he didn’t understand the appeal. “I am not a fan of Trump,” the rapper told Complex. “I don’t understand that connection, but Kanye does what he wants.”

Chief Keef is close with another pro-Trump rapper, Sexyy Red. Red explained her political stance during a recent appearance on the podcast This Weekend. “I like Trump,” she stated. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you.” Chief Keef has not officially gone on record as being a Trump supporter prior to his recent tweet. Given the claim that his account was hacked, though, it remains to be seen whether the tweet came from the rapper himself. We will have to wait and see what Keef has to say.

Tariq Nasheed Believes Sexyy Red Is Being Promoted By White Supremacists

Tariq Nasheed, Detroit born film director best known for his Hidden Colors film series, has an interesting perspective on Sexyy Red. In particular, it has to do with her pretty meteoric rise to fame. He sat down with Vlad TV to discuss why he feels that the White supremacists are the ones pushing her music. Essentially, Tariq firmly believes this community is aiming to perpetuate a negative view of Black women, but also the race at large. This then allows the justification for harm done (SA, missing people, etc.) when it does happen. Furthermore, Tariq goes on to point out artists similar to Sexyy Red like Latto, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, GloRilla, and etc. are so plentiful and that there is no balance of “sisters”.

Here, Nasheed refers to the Lauryn Hills, Queen Latifahs, and MC Lytes of the world of the 1990s who were creating this equilibrium with showy names like Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown. In today’s game we people like Little Simz, Rapsody, and Tierra Whack. But Nasheed’s point is that artists like Lauryn Hill and Latifah were just as big as Kim, whereas the audiences for the ones we listed do not have that same draw. During the interview, Vlad has an opposing view on who is spreading Sexyy Red’s material.

Tariq Nasheed Wants A “Balanced Depiction” Of Black Women

André 3000 Reveals Why He Believes Most New Rappers Sound The Same

André 3000 appeared on the latest episode of LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s The Shop alongside Sexyy Red and others. They touched on a variety of topics, including André’s New Blue Sun and why he has yet to release a solo rap album. He and Sexyy Red also talked about how haters motivate them. That conversation sparked social media memes. Fans of André started “hating” on him so he could release a rap album.

The panel also touched on one of the most common critiques of modern popular hip-hop: it all sounds the same. Older fans lament the change in sound and pine for the days where hip-hop sounded the way it did a generation ago. Thanks in part to the rise of SoundCloud and the explosion in popularity of artists like Future and Young Thug in the mid-2010s, hip-hop evolved. André explained why he thinks so many new artists sound like what’s already popular, and his answer was a straightforward one.

André 3000 On Why He Believes Many New Rappers Sound The Same

“If we were to come out as OutKast when we thought we were ready, we wouldn’t be around today ’cause we sounded like everybody else. We sounded like who we were listening to,” said André 3000. “Now, I don’t think artists have time to cultivate themselves, so a lot of artists sound the same. You can quickly jump on a microphone — it’s awesome because you’re getting an immediacy, but you don’t get time to hone who you are […] Even Future came up in the Dungeon. I know Ray has Future recordings where Future sounds different; Future was rapping. It takes a minute. Even 2 Chainz. Like, Tity Boi was rapping.”

André 3000s’s critique of the artist development process, or lack thereof, is not an uncommon one. TikTok trends have made it the easiest it’s ever been to become famous. There are limited opportunities for development before they’re thrust onto a national scale. Rappers like J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar performed on small stages before getting their mainstream moment. Lamar infamously performed at Best Buy in Compton once. That opportunity for development no longer exists in how it did for rappers from their era. Future and 2 Chainz, the two rappers André cited, underwent dramatic changes in their approaches to music before becoming popular. If they came out today, they might not have had the chance because of how easy it is to release music and find fame. André’s perspective is an interesting one, and may provide an explanation for the way hip-hop continues to develop.

Sexyy Red has revealed that she will drop a joint album with Chief Keef. Red kept mystery in their relationship, stating, “That’s my boo.”

“We dropping an album soon,” Red said. “Yeah, for sure. We’ve been working.

“We just be on some money shit. Some car shit, fast cars. Fuck these hoes. Buy some clothes. and keep your hair done.”

Earlier this year, Sexyy Red and Chief Keef released the highly-anticipated video for their collaboration “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad),” a standout track from Sexyy’s acclaimed Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe) project. Known for her advocacy for her child’s father, Sexyy takes a new approach in this track, encouraging mothers everywhere to leave their “hating a**” baby daddies and enjoy themselves. Chief Keef mirrors Sexyy’s energy, expressing similar disdain for his baby mama.

Directed by NSTY, the video features Sexyy and Chief Keef heading to “The Corry Show,” a playful spin on the infamous Maury Povich show, to prove that Keef is her baby daddy.

The video also marks the beginning of Sexyy’s new era as the hood’s hottest presidential candidate. The intro shows Sexyy informing constituents of her #MakeAmericaSexyyAgain campaign platform, promising enticing policies like free food stamps.

Sexyy recently announced her upcoming “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour,” a 26-city tour with support from Hunxho, Loe Shimmy, BlakeIANA, and a surprise special guest. The tour continues Sexyy’s streak of buzzworthy performances at Governor’s Ball and Roots Picnic, along with upcoming international festival appearances at Wireless Festival, Rokslide, Rolling Loud Europe, and more.

The tour follows the release of Sexyy’s In Sexyy We Trust mixtape, the follow-up to her 2023 debut Hood Hottest Princess, which includes the Billboard top 20 hit “Get It Sexyy” and the top 50 love anthem “U My Everything” ft. Drake. If you’ve never been to a Sexyy Red show, it’s a must-add to your summer bucket list, with crowds expected to twerk on top of their seats to “SkeeYee” and “Get It Sexyy!”

Earlier this week, Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, and King Von’s sister Kayla B made one big love triangle.

Sexyy Red hit social media, seemingly confirming she was romantically involved with Chief Keef, showing off his chain, including putting it in her underwear. “We got together now,” she wrote, tagging Keef. Keef and Red have become frequent collaborators.

In response, Kayla shared images with Sosa, and kicking off the drama, which Red responded “How I taste?”

The two then shared images of moments with Chief Keef, seemingly right after each other as he was in the same clothes. Kayla B also shared intimate moments with Keef writing, “First one to get pregnant wins.”

Sexyy Red and Chief Keef have shown great chemistry on their collaborations, which include Sexyy’s “F My Baby Dad” and Keef’s “Grape Trees.” In fact, their chemistry is so good that some fans interpreted selfies taken by Sexyy of the two to mean they’re dating (those photos ended up being used in the “F My Baby Dad” video).

While the two may not be an official couple, fans certainly want to hear more of them together — and there is good news on that front, as Sexyy teased the possibility of a joint album between them coming in the near future. While backstage at Wireless Festival in the UK, Sexyy was asked about this possible album, and she answered in the positive, “Yeah, we dropping an album soon… We be working.” She also gave an overview of the content fans can expect from it: “We just be on some money sh*t, some car sh*t, fast cars, f*ck these hoes, buy some clothes, and keep your hair done.”

A fondness for the above subjects isn’t the only thing they share in common, though. Both have seen recent troubles with their planned tours, with Keef postponing his tour the day of its launch for medical reasons and Sexyy insisting that her tour is being sabotaged by nefarious entities. Not for nothing, she said as much as Ticketmaster and Live Nation are being sued by the US Department of Justice for operating a monopoly over the touring space.

Hmmmmm. In any case, we certainly hope to hear more about this album, because it sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun.

Now, it seems, Red and Keef are capitalizing on their chemistry by recording an entire joint album.

Sexyy Red dropped the bombshell of an announcement during a recent interview at Wireless Festival. “That’s my boo,” she said, when asked about Chief Keef. “We droppin’ an album soon. Yeah, for sure. We be workin.” Red assured fans that she already has multiple records with Keef in the stash. A joint album between Sexyy Red and Chief Keef has been a long time coming. The two have been in each other’s orbit for years, and even sparked dating rumors back in June. Kayla B, the sister of the late King Von, posted photos of herself kissing Keef. Sexyy Red responded by posting photos of herself in bed with the Chicago rapper’s jewelry. Despite the rumors, Red maintains that she and Keef have more of a sibling relationship. “Dis just my favorite brudda,” she wrote alongside photos of her and Keef on IG.

That being said, Sexyy Red led fans to question whether there was something more serious going on between her and Chief Keef. Lord Jamar recently went off on Red during an interview, claiming that she looked “icky and hot.” The St. Louis rapper clapped back at Jamar by writing “Ask @chieffkeeffsossa do I stink.” Regardless of what the situation is between the two rappers, their ability to make catchy songs is undeniable. They have four collabs under their belt, and it sounds like they’re going to have a lot more soon.

Sexyy Red and Chief Keef are working on a joint album. The “SkeeYee” rapper shared the news in an interview with Viper magazine the Wireless Festival in London this past weekend. When asked if she and Keef are “love interests” or just “musical friends,” Sexxy called him “her boo.” She added that they were releasing an album soon “We’ve been working,” she said. She then confirmed that they already have several songs finished.

Sexyy Red and Chief Keef have done a few songs together already, coming together for several songs, including “Damn Shorty,” “Grape Trees” and “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad).” The latter track’s video also starred Keef as the father of Sexyy’s child in a skit parodying the Maury Show. The video was a source of controversy, as Sexyy was shown twerking on Keef in the video while pregnant.

Sexyy posted intimate photos of her and Keef on social media, although at the time, she insisted they were just friends. Shortly after, Sexyy and Keef were embroiled in a love triangle with the late King Von‘s sister Kayla B, which was sparked by Kayla taunting Sexyy with a picture of her kissing Keef. Sexyy later revealed that the whole saga was a promotional tactic. It worked, as people talked about it. The duo were also spotted at the BET Awards together earlier in July.

Sexyy Red and Chief Keef have both had good years. Sexyy released In Sexyy We Trust, her second album. Chief Keef released the long-awaited Almighty So 2 after a series of delays. The album has received praise from fans of Keef. Sexyy Red is due to go on tour beginning in August. However, rumors about low ticket sales have circulated, though she has denied those and plans to go on the road as scheduled. Considering Chief Keef’s history with releasing albums on schedule, it might be a while before this duo’s work comes out, but maybe he’ll make an exception for his new friend.

André 3000 Wants LL Cool J And Others To ‘Rap Until You Die,’ But He Still Isn’t A Fan Of It Past 40-Years-Old

In the teaser clip of The Shop, André 3000 admitted to using critiques from haters as fuel.

Following André 3000’s November 2023 interview with GQ, his tank runneth over. To this day, he continues to receive pushback regarding his “rapping over 40” comment. So, during his appearance on The Shop he addressed that and latest critic of his stance, LL Cool J.

“To me, I feel like if it’s in you,” he said. “Cause I got homies my age and older than me that still rap. So if it’s in you, you should rap until you die. You should perform until you die. But what I’m saying is, what it takes for me to do it, I’m always looking for the next. I’m not trying to uphold a thing that I’ve done before.”

Despite his perceived indifference to making an official return to rap, he hasn’t completely turned away from the possibility. “Of course, I have things to say now,” he said. “But if I can’t say them in a fresh, innovative way, if I feel like I’m just hanging onto the same flow that I used to do, it’s not enough for me. So I can’t talk for another rapper about what they doing. I just say, “Man, go for it. If it’s in you.’”
