Sexyy Red Shows Out At WWE Once Again, Twerks With NXT Star Lola Vice

On June 9, NXT Battleground, a WWE special event, took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It was an exciting evening filled with star power, nonstop action, and captivating matches starring top NXT talents. Sexyy Red was once again in attendance and hosted the night like a pro. She gave the show’s introduction, congratulated Kelani Jordan on her victory, and celebrated with NXT champion Trick Williams following his successful retention in the main event. She, of course, made some viral moments along the way, like Twerking with NXT talent and cooking with WWE legend Shawn Michaels.

But she also had a few other moments that appear to be gaining the kind of internet attention that WWE was hoping for when they chose to work with Red. One occurred during the main program when Lola Vice and Sexyy ran into each other following Shayna Baszler’s defeat in an NXT Underground match. Since neither of the women had ever been called shy, Red felt free to turn their tandem twerk into a trio with interviewer Sarah Schreiber.

Sexyy Red Twerks With Lola Vice On NXT

Schreiber was a good sport about it and retweeted the above, showcasing some of her skills outside of wrestling. After the show, Sexxy Red had some more fun with her favorite sexy boy. NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels made an appearance alongside TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace. He leaned into the chef joke, obviously enjoying dancing with the woman who he lobbied for to get on the show. He gave Battleground a five-star rating for dinner. Sexyy Red may be looking to catapult into the ring as an actual wrestler soon. That would draw some eyeballs to NXT.

The group is seen in a kitchen scene when Sexyy Red exclaims, “I’ve got two coming in hot!” as Grace closes the door to an appliance. Shawn Michaels then called NXT Battleground a “five-star meal” while jokingly donning a chef’s hat in remembrance of his legendary DX segment from 2009. Michaels posed with Grace and Red at the end of the film, perfectly encapsulating the lively mood of the night. Overall, Shawn Michaels has been cooking up quite a show with NXT, and Sexxy Red may have been the perfect ingredient to add.

DJ Akademiks Claims Fans Are Hate-Botting Drake’s New Songs

Drake has seen brighter days. The rapper’s popularity has taken a hit since he lost the Kendrick Lamar battle. The last diss that he issued towards Lamar, “The Heart Part 6,” wound up with more dislikes than likes on YouTube. The next single he appeared on, “U My Everything,” fell victim to the same ratio. Drake is losing fans by the day, it seems, but DJ Akademiks thinks there’s something fishy about the stats. The avid 6 God supporter claimed that there’s a concentrated effort to make the rapper’s “fall” seem more significant than it actually is.

DJ Akademiks rolled out his conspiracy theory on May 26. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to note the overwhelmingly harsh response to the aforementioned songs. He also included Drake’s second Lamar diss, “Family Matters,” in his statement. “Either n**gas hating on Drake or n**gas hate botting his latest releases,” Ak wrote. “His last 2 releases has more dislikes than likes on YouTube. The Heart Part 6 and his newest feature on Sexyy Redd song. And family matters has over 400k dislikes on YouTube. Very abnormal.”

Drake’s Last Three Songs Have Been Ratio’d

While it’s admittedly strange to see Drake songs consistently perform poorly, the rapper is dealing with public fallout that he’s never had to deal with before. Lamar turned his Drake disses into hits, with “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria” peaking at number one and three on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively. Drake, meanwhile, struggled to crack the top ten with his disses. Drake’s music has also seen a downturn in streaming. His numbers were reportedly down 5% the week of May 3-6.

Drake’s feature on Sexxy Red’s “U My Everything” proves that he’s not been able to shake the Lamar battle. Instead of ignoring the battle, and his various targets outright, he decided to flip Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” beat and change the meaning of the title. It was a decent idea in theory, but enough time had passed to where fans felt as though it fell flat. “U My Everything” is suffering from post-Kendrick Lamar fallout, much in the same way that J. Cole’s verse is on the Cash Cobain single “Grippy.” Both rappers are struggling to get their footing back.

DJ Akademiks might be right in terms of there being too much Drake hate, but it’s also worth noting that dislikes and mockery come with the territory when you decide to go to battle. The 6 God will be fine, but it might take longer than he or Ak want it to.

Drake Raps Over “BBL Drizzy” Beat On New Sexxy Red Single

Drake had to take a step back after the Kendrick Lamar battle. Most people agree that he lost after the release of Lamar’s number one single “Not Like Us,” and the viral “BBL Drizzy” challenge. The latter was the name of an instrumental that another Drake enemy, Metro Boomin, cooked up. Not the best stretch of the Toronto rapper’s career. That being said, he’s back, and flipping his L’s into a W. At least, trying to. Drake dropped a guest verse on the new Sexxy Red single “U My Everything,” and decided to rap over the “BBL Drizzy” instrumental himself.

The bulk of the song has an original beat. Sexxy Red does her usual thing over a monstrous Tay Keith production, but when things switch to Drake, the beat switches with him. Metro Boomin originally made the beat to mock Drake for getting cosmetic surgery done, but Drake flips the meaning of the sample to assert that he can give BBL’s to any woman he chooses. “Me and the surgeon got history, I changed a lot of girls lives for real,” he raps. “They need a new body, they hittin’ me, ayy. BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it. The last one drunk, he did it for free ’cause I sent over so many.”

Drake Flips The Original Meaning Of “BBL Drizzy”

Fans will be combing through Drake’s verse to discover subliminals aimed at Metro and K. Dot, but there aren’t any. The Toronto rapper is strictly in hitmaker mode here, crafting a catchy duet with Sexxy Red. It worked when they teamed up for “Rich Baby Daddy,” so why not do it again? It does, however, play into a couple of Kendrick Lamar’s lyrical jabs. On “Euphoria,” Dot clowned Drake for “seeing two bad b*tches” whenever he stands next to Sexxy Red. He also advised the 6 God to focus on making hits, instead of trying to battle. “I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he act tough,” he adds.

The decision to return to hitmaking should come as no surprise to fans. Drake announced that he was going on vacation, and focusing on “summer vibes” after the release of “Not Like Us.” He may decide to pick up the battle against Lamar later on, but as of now, he’s content to crank out collabs with the likes of Sexxy Red and Lil Yachty. It’ll be interesting to see how “U My Everything” fares on the charts, given that the last Drake and Red collab peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The “BBL Drizzy” sample is going to help.

Ghostface Killah Claims Modern Rappers Are Lacking One Particular Skill

Ghostface Killah can say what he wants. The Wu-Tang rapper has put out classic albums in multiple decades, and his latest, Set the Tone, proves that he hasn’t lost his touch. He’s one of the elite artists in the history of hip-hop, so it makes sense that he would have opinions on where the genre is going. Ghost was interviewed by Rolling Stone on May 22, and he took the current generation of rappers to task for being bad at one specific thing: storytelling. He wants to hear more narratives set to song.

Ghostface asserted that the only storytellers in hip-hop are the ones from his generation. He even cited some of his fellow Wu-Tang Clan members as examples. “I don’t hear n**gas doing storytelling no more, man,” he lamented “There might be Nas. You might still got [Slick] Rick out there doing it, Raekwon [and] GZA.” The rapper blamed this pivot away from storytelling on the desire to make songs that play well in the clubs. “A lot of stuff be regular darts, regular raps,” he added. “Everything with this new generation is about clubs.”

Ghostface Killah Laments Music Being Made For Clubs Only

Ghostface Killah then targeted the current wave of female rappers. He felt they were the most egregious examples of style over substance, and pointed to 90s stars like Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill as examples of well-balanced artists. “The Lauryn Hills of this sh*t [are] gone,” he told Rolling Stone. “Even the Foxys and sh*t like that, like a lag came over it. But all this other ‘lick my a*s,’ ‘my butthole brown’ sh*t, it’s like … it’s too much.” Ghost didn’t mention any specific names when it came to rappers he didn’t like, but the lyric he used is likely a reference to Sexxy Red.

The one modern rapper who impresses Ghostface Killah is Kendrick Lamar. During a recent interview with Juan Epstein, the Wu-Tang rapper claimed that Lamar made him up his game. “That’s why when I did the record with Kendrick, it was like, ‘Okay… I sat with it and was like — I sent him two verses,” Ghost recalled. “I sent him a ‘just in case’ one. Like, ‘N**ga, if that don’t go, this one [will].’” It probably helps that Lamar has made some of the most ambitious concept albums in hip-hop history. Game will always recognize game.

Sexyy Red Teases That She Will Make Her WWE Debut Soon “I Might RKO Somebody”

In March, a video of Sexyy Red dancing to the famous WWE theme music featuring WWE great Shawn Michaels went viral. Sexyy Red Teases NXT Appearance

Red tweeted on Monday, May 20, saying, “I can’t wait to go to NXT next week y’all, I might RKO somebody [loudly crying face emojis] @WWE #nxt.” The RKO is the name of the wrestling finisher created by WWE legend Randy Orton. Sexyy Red has previously stated that she would like to appear in WWE. The native of St. Louis responded to a video in October 2023 that featured an altered combination of her song “SkeeYee” and the entrance of former WWE tag team champion Jey Uso. Sexyy said in response to the clip, “I wanna see this happen [for real] [loudly crying face emojis]. @WWE when [y’all] gonna invite me?”

Hip-hop and wrestling have been collaborating for years, especially lately. A number of Hip-Hop stars competed in April’s WWE WrestleMania XL event. The start of the show was narrated by Philly native Meek Mill. Snoop Dogg commented on matches during the mega event. Furthermore, Lil Wayne led Jey Uso into the ring for his matchup with Jimmy Uso, his twin brother. Overall, Sexyy Red and the WWE seem like a match made in heaven. Hopefully, we get to see her RKO someone very soon.

Nicki Minaj’s Star-Studded “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” Laps The Original

Nicki Minaj is on a high at the moment. The rapper’s Pink Friday 2 album was a success, and the accompanying tour has been even bigger. Minaj is currently on the highest-grossing tour ever by a female rapper, and to celebrate she’s dropped off a remix to “FTCU.” The original version of the song was a standout on Pink Friday 2, with its bass-heavy instrumental and Minaj’s ferocious delivery. The remix, however, takes it to a whole new level. “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” is an upgrade from the original.

“FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” works so well because the simple production allows room for Minaj to share the spotlight with her superstar guests. She really brought the heavy hitters on this one, as the remix has verses from Chris Brown, Travis Scott and Sexxy Red. Minaj and Brown have collaborated many times over the years, but Scott is an unexpected inclusion. Scott and Minaj had beef back in 2018, when the latter accused Scott of using bundle deals to outsell her Queen album. It appears things are cool now, which is a plus for fans. Both Brown and Scott deliver here, yet it’s Sexxy Red who steals the show.

Sexxy Red Shines on Nicki Minaj’s Remix

Minaj is returning the favor after Sexxy Red enlisted her for the remix of “Pound Town 2.” Their styles work well in tandem, and Red’s singular flow adds a different splash of color to the “FTCU” instrumental. “Pound Town 2” peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and given the star power involved here, its easy to envision a world where “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” does just as well.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” by Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Travis Scott and Sexxy Red? Does Minaj’s beefed up version of the song top the original? Will this be a song of the summer candidate? Who do you think had the best verse? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news on Nicki Minaj. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

I will never slippy like a Mickey
Stay in your Tory lane, b***h, I’m not Iggy
I know that these n***as tryna bang like Chiddy
I am such a catch, n***a, throw on ya mitty
