Al B Sure Reportedly Increases Security After Demanding Investigation Into Kim Porter’s Passing

Last month, a book called Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side was released on Amazon. It was marketed as a memoir allegedly written by Kim Porter herself before her 2018 death. Her ex Al B Sure and the late actress’s children, on the other hand, describe it as allegedly “calculated fiction.”

As the book made headlines for the shocking allegations it contains, Al B Sure took to Instagram to weigh in. “I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this,” he wrote. “Original notes are distinct from the fabricated bullsh*t and offensive pages circulated via Amazon which depict graphic sexual acts involving me that NEVER took place and were edited and added after Ms. Porter’s tragic murder.”

He later hit the author of the book and Amazon with a cease and desist. Now, he’s reportedly ramped up his security measures, according to Page Six. Recently, he spoke at the American Liver Foundation’s National Legacy Gala in NYC and acknowledged the fact that Homeland Security was there. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this because I don’t want it to go viral,” he said at the time. “We even have Homeland Security in the building. Detective Jackson, good to see you.”

A source later told the outlet that Al B Sure has “stepped up his security immeasurably” in recent weeks. It’s unclear if this is directly related to his claims about his ex. Since that time, there have been uncomfortable conversations surrounding the concept of security and whether or not every single artist should have it. “God got me,” PnB Rock said to Wack 100. Wack asked the question because he noticed the artist wearing extravagant jewelry all while having no one around him to stand guard. Ultimately, this decision turned out to be a bad one. Moreover, the part about god having his back is now being looked upon with negative hindsight. Regardless, his death remains a tragedy and it’s horrible that this is now the discourse being had.

Cardi B Reveals Why She Doesn’t Need Security Amid Fan Concerns

Recently, one fan spotted Cardi B out and about in New York City by herself. She appeared to be in good spirits, but the clip sparked a great deal of concern from her supporters. She took to X to address the clip of the unexpected sighting, making it clear that it wasn’t a big deal. “It was like 9am and I was hungry …..also nobody finna touch me,” she said.

That did little to ease fans’ concerns, however. They continued to flood her with demands not to go out alone. Again, she clarified that she was fine and that there was no need for fans to worry. “My house got 24/7 security,” she also explained. “I’m very spontaneous and I like my privacy… Sometimes I want to go to the deli or make a quick target run …I’m not waiting around till security come ….ALSO I ALWAYS ALWAYS GOT SOMETHING ON ME!”

Still, the Bardigang was unconvinced, despite her emphasizing the fact that she hates “being babied.” One X user even claimed that one of her posts was a “trauma response,” which she quickly denied. “Wtffff yall be talking about …yall need help,” she responded. “It was 9am and I went to get a bacon egg and cheese …STOP WIT THIS cry baby sh*t ..Y’all too p**** …let me get off this app cause yall irritating me and is not even funny.”

Clearly, Cardi’s got it covered and doesn’t appreciate being treated like she doesn’t. Tony Yayo Addresses 50 Cent’s Controversial Decision To Spend 500K On Festival Security

50 Cent caused a stir with his Humor & Harmony Weekend Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana for various reasons. On the drama side of things, folks like Hurricane Chris criticized his decision to spend $500K on security, which Chris thinks could’ve instead benefitted a much more important or benevolent cause. But as Tony Yayo remarked on VladTV recently, this was just one of Fif’s many investments in the city to ensure a smooth-running and safe event. Ultimately, Yayo thinks that this investment was worth it, since celebrities and regular attendees alike could enjoy the shindig without worry. Also, he thought the team behind the festival executed everything seamlessly.

However, Hurricane Chris recently cleared the air around his critique of 50 Cent, explaining that his main issue is around the lack of local artists at the festival. “It’s no hate,” Chris said of his “culture vulture” take. “It’s all love, but I must voice my opinion because I been here, and I been in Shreveport.” Overall, he painted his words as “a big misunderstanding” and even expressed his will to collaborate with the G-Unit mogul one day if he’d be down.

Meanwhile, Luenell also blasted 50 Cent (and he responded) over the Humor & Harmony Weekend Festival for only including male comedians. “I want to say that the game is still so misogynistic because I just heard about this Comedy Festival that my dear friend 50 is having right now… and there were several comedians on the plane, but not one female comic. Not one,” she stated in a recent interview. “How can you expect women, who buy a lot of tickets, to sit and listen to man after man after man after man after man? Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN‘s release party in Los Angeles allegedly faced some scuffles throughout, according to a video reportedly obtained by TMZ Hip Hop. Moreover, apparently celebrity hair stylist Jonathan Wright got into it with Meg’s security guard Tom Lang at the event, as apparently Lang didn’t know who Wright was and refused to allow him access. Eventually, the Houston femcee stepped in and beckoned her bodyguard to let the stylist through, and they reportedly chopped it up over some drinks. At press time, it’s unclear what details of this are actually accurate or which of the two parties was the disrespectful instigator.

Elsewhere, though, Megan Thee Stallion seems to have a big hit on her hands with MEGAN, both off of the strength of previous singles and new spicy material. Some fans reacted wildly to some supposed Nicki Minaj disses on the album, whereas others focused more on the anime references or more personal lyrical matter. Either way, it seems like there’s plenty of content to enjoy no matter what you’re looking for in a rap project. We’ll see how it ages in the year and how it stacks up to what’s to come.

However, one particularly hot topic of discussion online is Megan Thee Stallion’s new MEGAN cut “Down Stairs DJ,” which she dedicated to her… self-love, let’s say. “Me, myself, and I, and a rose / Ebony, lezzy, XVideos / Big titty, blonde hair, Anna Nicole / Spicy Spanish hottie, nympho,” she raps on the cut. Of course, it’s not like Tina Snow ever shied away from raunchiness in her previous material, but this became a particularly detailed account, so to speak. In addition, it also prompted a lot of folks’ appreciation for this topical focus and the general themes of self-love, lewd or otherwise, on the new album.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion may have defended Jonathan Wright this time around, but she’s not as forgiving of others in her circle. She and her team want a lawsuit against her from a former photographer dismissed. That’s been another pretty contentious topic online concerning Meg, and one that’s still an unanswered question. Kendrick Lamar & His Security Arrive At Compton City Hall For “Not Like Us” Music Video Shoot

More and more clips are emerging of Kendrick Lamar’s time in Compton to shoot the “Not Like Us” music video, and they’re making fans even more hyped up. He and his security detail arrived at Compton’s City Hall to film another part of the visual treatment, and it’s unclear whether or not the shoot will continue this weekend or if they already got everything. Either way, we can’t remember the last time there was this much hype around a music video, but we’re glad to see it. Probably should’ve dropped it earlier in the song’s hype cycle, but we’re not complaining about the tardiness.

Furthermore, this also lines up with Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out,” the Juneteenth L.A. show that has some people feeling mind-blown and others acting underwhelmed. For one, DJ Akademiks recently shared his opinion that both Drake and J. Cole have put on better concerts and multi-artist events in their cities than K.Dot. Given how different each show’s lineup, context, and intent is, it’s not really a shocker to claim any of them as your favorite or as the most significant one. Still, it feels like most folks just can’t find a balance between praising this as one of the greatest recent hip-hop moments or as a complete embarrassment and failure; it’s not that deep.

In addition, Kendrick Lamar’s alleged entourage has also provided some interesting insights and occasional tea-spilling when it comes to some narratives around his moves. For example, an alleged close friend spoke out against The Game and his statement on why he didn’t attend “The Pop Out.” The friend suggested that the Los Angeles MC displayed some disrespect and “had to choose his words carefully.” It’s all a mystery and very vague, but it will fade in time.

Meanwhile, the increased security presence at this music video shoot also caused some backlash, for reasons unknown to anyone with common sense. Whether or not Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video is a hit or a dud, it will probably (and hopefully) mark the end of his battle with Drake. Maybe things flare up again with a second match in the future, or there’s more to tussle over. But it seems unlikely that the Toronto superstar will bother to concern himself with this, and we hope both opponents move on already.

Kendrick Lamar’s rumored upcoming music video, which might be for “Not Like Us,” is catching some apparent flack from Drake fans and general detractors. Moreover, reports recently indicated that he hired sheriff deputies for heightened security at the shoot, which some corners of social media thought was hypocritical, cowardly, unnecessary if his connects are as deep as he says, and other conspiratorially negative descriptors. However, many online were quick to retort with the loss of Nipsey Hussle years ago and plenty of other examples of violent escalations and situations when it comes to rappers out in public. All in all, the common Internet sentiment reflects an understanding that this is nothing special or condemnable, and that haters are missing the point.

Still, if that’s not an angle about this supposed Kendrick Lamar music video that you subscribe to, there are many others to consider. For example, new footage recently emerged of Bobbi Althoff in Compton with YG and others, which many took to mean that she’s either on set for this visual or will straight-up appear in it. Of course, if this ends up being for “Not Like Us,” it would seem like a very ironic cameo that could easily blow back in folks’ face. We’ll have to understand more of the context behind this to see what it all means.

Speaking of security, though, Drake recently sent a celebratory message to his main bodyguard, OVO’s Chubbs, via his Instagram Story. While it didn’t outright reference the Kendrick Lamar beef or any associated topics, it is one of his first public statements after “The Pop Out.” As such, many folks took Drizzy’s acknowledgement of “that s**t coming back around” as a subliminal allusion to the feud. Whether or not that’s true is for the tinfoil hat crew to determine, because either way, it’s not the response many anticipate.

Meanwhile, considering that Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth concert included a tribute to Nipsey Hussle, it’s no surprise that he would be so cognizant of staying safe and up-keeping proper and necessary security protocol. This is much bigger than macho tendencies of rap beef. Hopefully everything turns out great for the visual or whatever Compton’s getting up to this weekend. After all, this social media debate can’t be all for nothing.

Last week, some pretty surprising news emerged out of Cannes film festival. Video of Kelly Rowland seemingly being mistreated by security sparked a ton of controversy online. In the clip she appears to be rushed off of the spot where she’s taking pictures and pushed up the stairs. When she tries to communicate with someone she recognizes the security personal even appear to try and block her view an continue to forcer her along the carpet.

The video spread around all over the internet sparking stern responses from fans citing the unprofessional behavior of festival security. In the days since, according to TMZ, multiple further instances involving the woman at the center of the Kelly Rowland video have emerged. Model Sawa Pontyjska shared a video to her TikTok of her ending up restrained by one of the same staff member who started the interaction with Rowland. She pops up once again in a video of Korean singer and actress Yoona. She had her view blocked and was rushed into the event in a similar way to Rowland. Kelly Rowland Gets Into Shouting Match With Security At Cannes Film Festival

Kelly Rowland got into a heated argument with a security guard at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday in southern France. She was walking the red carpet for a screening of the film, Marcello Mio, while rocking a blonde bob and a bright red dress when the incident went down.

Just moments before, paparazzi photographed her smiling and waving, appearing to be in good spirits. At one point, however, things turned sour while making her way up a set of stairs. She attempted to stop and wave to fans as a female security guard put her arm on her from behind and attempting to motion her forwards. The two then exchanged words with Rowland pointing at her face.

It’s unclear exactly what caused Rowland to become upset as she has not commented on the incident since. It comes three months after Page Six reported that the former Destiny’s Child singer walked off the Today show set because she felt her dressing room was not “up to par.”
