JAY-Z and Beyonce dined out in Cannes at a beachside restaurant, Monday, while traversing Europe on the ongoing Renaissance Tour. TMZ has obtained a video of the two superstars out and about on the French Riviera. In doing so, Jay rocks a calm outfit consisting of a simple T-shirt, shorts, and sunglasses, while Beyonce wears a similarly chill outfit with a camera over her shoulder.

TMZ reports that Jay and Beyonce ate at La Guérite, a seaside restaurant known for its seafood, salad, and pasta dishes. The couple stayed at the spot for 1.5 hours, taking in views of the Mediterranean Sea. After finishing, they headed off on a boat.

Beyonce Performs On “Renaissance” Tour

JAY-Z and Beyonce recently traveled to Marseille, Cologne, and Amsterdam for stops on the “Renaissance” Tour in recent days. Following her brief stop in Cannes, Beyonce will be performing in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Warsaw throughout the rest of the month before taking a short break and then returning to North America in July.

Beyonce is touring in support of her seventh studio album, Renaissance. The project was released on July 29, 2022, as her first solo effort since 2016’s Lemonade. She worked on the album with Nova Wav, The-Dream, Symbolyc One, A. G. Cook, Honey Dijon, Beam, Tricky Stewart, BloodPop, Skrillex, Hit-Boy, No I.D., P2J, and various others. Guest vocalists include Beam, Grace Jones, and Tems. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, with 332,000 album-equivalent units. It is Beyonce’s seventh consecutive album to debut atop the chart. The lead single, “Break My Soul,” reached number on the US Billboard Hot 100 as well. Beyonce will continue traveling on the Renaissance World Tour throughout the summer before wrapping things up with a show in New Orleans in September.

For those unaware, the gala raised funds for research and awareness projects concerning HIV and AIDS. Other stars in attendance were Queen Latifah, her partner Eboni Nichols, Odell Beckham Jr., Leonardo DiCaprio, Devin Booker, Heidi Klum, and many more.

Both stars have been on quite the hot streak lately, with Teyana Taylor recently starring in the remake of White Men Can’t Jump. “I think we all came to the conclusion that we were going to leave the very big shoes in a glass case, and leave it beautiful,” she told VIBE. “Understanding that it’s not broke so we shouldn’t be trying to fix it, not taking those big shoes out the case to fill them. I think what we did was customize our own pair of shoes and made it our own and we sampled a classic.

The Weeknd Spotted With “UTOPIA” Briefcase

The Weeknd is one of the biggest artists in the world at this point. Unfortunately, he is getting quite a bit of criticism for his new show The Idol. Overall, critics find the show to be way too sexualized. Moreover, Sam Levinson isn’t exactly everyone’s favorite showrunner at this point. Either way, Abel is going to be just fine. His music career continues to be extremely successful and there he has a new era planned out for all of his adoring fans. That said, there is no denying that The Idol’s failures with critics probably sting a little bit.

Aside from this new HBO show, it appears as though The Weeknd is gearing up for an appearance on Travis Scott’s new album, UTOPIA. In case you haven’t noticed, Travis has been traveling with body guards who have a UTOPIA briefcase attached to their wrist with handcuffs. Well, while appearing at an event in Cannes this week, Abel had the same setup. In the images posted below, you can see his bodyguard with the briefcase. Ultimately, this can only mean one thing: The Weeknd is on UTOPIA.

Travis Scott has been teasing this album for years. However, it has taken a long time to come out. Ultimately, it is easy to see why this was the case. Following the disaster at Astroworld Festival, it made sense for Travis to take a break. Now, however, he is back, and his fans are very curious as to what kind of album he is going to make. With The Weeknd involved, there is no doubt that we are about to get a very spirited feature that fans will adore.

Some are claiming that UTOPIA will be out on June 23rd. Although, this is just conjecture at this point. It is going to be up to Travis Scott to determine when he will be dropping his project. Early Reviews Of HBO’s ‘The Idol’ Have More ‘Softcore Porn’ Comparisons Than They Do Praise For The Show

Yesterday (May 22), HBO’s upcoming series The Idol premiered at Cannes. Attendees got to view the first two of the upcoming six episodes of the Sam Levinson and The Weeknd-helmed series, which is set to premiere next month.

While anticipation is high for the series — which is said to tell the story of a pop star named Jocelyn (Lily Rose Depp) who falls in love with a cult leader named Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye) — the show appears to have been panned by critics. We’ll spare some of the more graphic details, but we’ve included portions of some of the reviews below.

Rolling Stone, who published an exposé about the show’s allegedly harsh production conditions, said that The Idol was even more scandalous than they imagined.

“The double-dose the festival screened felt nasty, brutish, much longer than it is, and way, way worse than you’d have anticipated,” read the review.

Variety described The Idol as a “sordid male fantasy” and said the show’s script “seems calculated to fool audiences into thinking they’re observing how Hollywood operates, when so much of it amounts to tawdry clichés lifted from Sidney Sheldon novels and softcore porn.”

The Hollywood Reporter called The Idol “an HBO series that’s more regressive than transgressive.”

Following the Cannes screening, the series has debuted with a 20 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Idol premieres on 6/4 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.

Paris Hilton Claims Harvey Weinstein Pursued Her At Cannes When She Was 19

Paris Hilton recently recounted how Harvey Weinstein approached her in a Cannes Film Festival bathroom when she was 19 years old. Moreover, the alleged incident occurred at the ceremony in 2000, and she told Glamour UK that the fallen-from-grace movie executive “hammered” on her bathroom stall. Furthermore, Weinstein was a prominent figure in the film industry until his sexual misconduct caught up with him following accusations in 2017. During her interview, she detailed how she was having dinner with a friend at Cannes, and first met Harvey when he still maintained his industry recognition and power.

“I was at lunch with my girl friend and he came up to the table and was like, ‘Oh, you want to be an actress?’” she recalled. “And I said, ‘Yeah, I really want to be in a movie.’ I was a teenager, so I was impressed by him. I was like, ‘Oh my god, Harvey Weinstein is so cool!’ And he said, ‘Well, we should have a meeting. You can come up to my room and read scripts.’ And I just didn’t want to go, so I never went.” Then, Hilton maintained, she attended a gala that happened to have Weinstein as its host. In addition, she claimed that the 70-year-old, then 48, followed her into the women’s bathroom and screamed, “You wanna be a star?”

“I went into the bathroom and then he followed me,” the 42-year-old stated. “He tried to open the door, he was hammering on the door, banging on it. And security came and literally carried him away and he was like [shouting], ‘This is my party,’ going nuts. It scared me and freaked me out.” Also, Hilton recently revealed her harrowing experience with sexual assault at age 15. Moreover, she said that she decided not to share her story given the executive’s iron grip on the industry.

Meanwhile, Weinstein recently received an additional sentence of 16 years for a rape conviction in Los Angeles. Furthermore, authorities convicted him with rape in 202 in New York and sentenced him to 23 years. The most recent sentence means he will likely pass away behind bars, and he spent years denying any wrongdoing.
