Gunplay Sends Cease & Desist To DJ Envy, Internet Trolls Roast Him

Now that his inaugural car show is done and dusted, DJ Envy appears ready to move on to bigger things. Unfortunately, the massive bout of drama that came along with with his charitable function is refusing to let go. Specifically, MMG artist Gunplay continues to lash out at The Breakfast Club host following their heated phone call earlier this week. At the time, the reality star recorded himself on the phone with Envy, at which time he expressed anger toward the media personality for talking about his daughter while also threatening to “slap the sh*t out of [him]” numerous times.

Gunplay later shared footage of the call on social media. It ultimately went viral, drawing more attention to the drama. It’s been pointed out online that Envy now has grounds to sue the 43-year-old. Instead, though, it’s the former who’s filed a cease and desist against the latter, claiming that the New Yorker’s comments about Gunplay and his family have been damaging to his mental health.

Gunplay Continues to Lash Out at DJ Envy

“I married a Ph.D. in criminology Karen ass Fed good luck I’mma let her take it from here buddy!” he wrote in the caption of a since-deleted Instagram post displaying the official document. “It has come to my attention that you have been making statements about my client(s), Vonshae Taylor-Morales and Richard Morales (Gunplay), that are false and misleading. These statements were averred and disseminated by you and your associates on a national, if not international level through a public forum,” the document begins.

The cease and desist later demands that Envy discontinue making “false, slanderous, and defamatory statements” about Gunplay, or damages will accordingly be sought in court. On social media, many are clowning the Miami native for taking such extremes when he’s not exactly innocent either. Of course, there are also some still showing support for the L&HH star.

Kali Receives Backlash After Claiming She Was Unfamiliar With Ludacris’ “Area Codes”

In her recent Complex interview, 22-year-old rapper Kali revealed that she didn’t know Ludacris’ 2001 track, “Area Codes.” This took many social media users by surprise, as she’s recently landed herself a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for her song of the same name. She described coming up with the concept of “Area Codes” organically, claiming that Ludacris’ track had no influence on her song.

“I didn’t even know there was any connection,” she explained. Kali also went on to say, “Like, I never heard the Ludacris song before. So when people asked me that, I truly didn’t know what they were talking about. It was just super organic. When I hear people saying, ‘Oh, this is a Ludacris homage,’ I’m like, ‘Okay, but I really didn’t know anything about it.’ It was just like I literally felt like I got hoes in different area codes.”

After the interview came out, social media users were quick to share their opinons. “Honestly if that Kali girl didn’t realize she was basically quoting Ludacris on that area codes song, then someone else wrote that joint and just ain’t tell her,” one user claimed. “Lmaoooo,” another writes, “I love Kali but come on now, Ludacris’ ‘Area Codes’ was a hit. I refuse to believe that she never heard it in her life.”

Some fans came to the young rapper’s defense, however. Draymond Green Roasts The Boston Celtics After Game 7 Loss

After becoming just the fourth team in NBA to come back from a 0-3 deficit in the playoffs, the Boston Celtics couldn’t become the first team to win a playoff series overcoming that deficit. The Celtics were blown out at home by the Miami Heat, 103-84. Twitter was quick to roast the Celtics for their subpar performance.

However, one particular criticism that stood out came from Draymond Green. Despite his own second-round playoff exit, Green has become a pivotal voice from the sidelines. Furthermore, there was no way that Green was staying silent as the Celtics crashed out in one of the most humiliating ways possible.

Green Roasts The Celtics

“The Boston Celtics are who we thought they were… They did not look like they were ready for the moment… All of a sudden they looked like they couldn’t play basketball with their left hand again,” Green said on his podcast in the minutes after the Celtics lost on national TV. Jaylen Brown had a team-high 19 points in the Game 7 loss, while the team went 9-of-42 from three-point range. However, Green’s comments are also a common sentiment that has followed the Celtics like the plague throughout these playoffs.

Despite entering the postseason as the second seed, the Celtics have never played like a second seed. They needed six games to knock off the seven-seed Hawks. Furthermore, they needed to come back multiple times against the Sixers in the Conference Semifinals. While team stars like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have had historic highs, the moments of true team cohesion have been few and far between. Meanwhile, head coach Joe Mazzulla likely saved his job by getting the Celtics from 0-3 to 3-4, but a number of big questions remain about the team. Critics were quick to jump on the star, claiming that her tongue appeared “white,” and calling her oral hygiene into question. She snapped the photo while at the movies seeing The Little Mermaid with her sister Kim’s daughter North and her sister Kourtney’s son, Reign.

“Clean your tongue khloe.. it looks so dirty,” one commenter wrote, adding a sick emoji. “Khloe forgot to brush her tongue. mule take care,” another said. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Khloe revealed feeling some guilt for electing to use a surrogate for her latest child. She claimed that when she arrived to the hospital for her son Tatum’s birth, she “definitely was in a state of shock.” She went on, revealing that she felt bad for taking Tatum from the surrogate. “I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and I take the baby and I go in another room and we are sort of separated,” revealed the mother. She described the process as feeling “transactional.”

Earlier this month, Khloe shot down rumors that she was reuniting with her ex, Tristan Thompson. The pair split following a cheating scandal that occurred shortly after Khloe discovered she had a baby on the way via surrogacy. A video of DJ Khaled has recently gone viral, featuring a fake clip of the artist twerking. The video features clips of the DJ running and jumping into a pool, followed by a clip of a similarly-shaped man twerking underwater. It’s currently unclear where the clip originates. The video has gotten the attention of several of his peers, including DJ Akademiks, Waka Flocka Flame, and more.

DJ Akademiks shared the gag to his Instagram page, and responses from fans and peers followed soon after. “WTF DID I JUST SEE. NAW MAN THE WORLD IS CHANGING. THIS ISNT WHAT WE DO … JUST ASK THE COMMUNITY,” wrote Wack 100. Rick Ross also chimed in, simply commenting, “Haaa.” Waka Flocka Flame shared his thoughts on the video, writing, “Unfollowing buddy right now,” followed by laughing emojis. Fake DJ Khaled Throws It Back In Viral Video

Another funny social media incident occurred earlier this month, when Future told DJ Khaled to go home after he shared a video claiming to be on his way to the rapper’s house. Future shared the video of the DJ on a jet ski, with the caption, “I’m not home turn around,” alongside some laughing emojis. Fans commented on the rapper’s response, with one writing, “Pulling up to a side mission like Dj Khaled.” Another user simply commented, “mind ya business.”

The DJ also went viral in February of this year, for a Tweet reading, “Drake is retiring, Migos broken, DJ Khaled is fat, Rap game is in shambles rn.” The Tweet was also accompanied by a meme from Peaky Blinders, featuring Cillian Murphy holding a gun to his head. Lil Tecca Roasted Over Brandy & Monica Sample Use

Using a sample for your single is a risky move, as people will listen to that track and compare it to the original that it used as a reference. Even though many fans liked Lil Tecca’s latest single, “Need Me,” a lot of people blasted the sample used. Moreover, the Queens MC used a sample of Brandy and Monica’s iconic cut “The Boy Is Mine” for his single’s instrumental. Overall, the sample contributes to a pretty woozy and low-key cut with minimal drum patterns that are mostly carried by Tecca’s vocal delivery. Unfortunately for him, fans are tired of sample songs being so prevalent and “mid” in today’s hip-hop landscape.

Of course, sampling is nothing new in the genre, as much as people like to complain about their prolificacy. In fact, sampling is considered a foundation of hip-hop by most leading figures, fans, and other community members. However, there have been a lot of hit rap songs that use sampling as a way to boost their track’s profile or entice more listeners into tuning in. With all that being said, maybe fans didn’t need to harp on this song; it’s just be a “mid” track in your opinion at the end of the day, not a sign of disrespect to the sample.

With the violins and s**t no one has done it Justice since.” Others asked rappers to leave Brandy and Monica alone and brought up that people are reusing samples too much. “Didn’t Chinese Kitty just do this?? At the end of the day, you’re entitled to whatever you think of “Need Me” and sampling these days. Still, it seems slightly odd to only dog on a song for its sample use. Other elements of the track might make you feel lukewarm on it, too. After all, a sample is only as good as its flip, and it needs a good song to justify it. Years after his untimely death, Pop Smoke’s legacy continues to loom large over the hip-hop world. However, not every attempt to immortalize and celebrate his memory has gone over particularly well. On one hand, some people disrespectfully vandalized The Woo’s mural last December to many’s outrage. Still, a new mural has people feeling heated for other, albeit much less overtly disrespectful reasons. On Monday (April 17), an unknown mural made rounds on social media, for which people don’t know the location, artist, or if it was even meant to resemble Pop. However, the details certainly match up, even if many fans think it looks nothing like the rapper.

Of course, Twitter had a field day reacting to this news, either making jokes about it or expressing straight up disgust. Still, since it’s unclear where this mural is, it’s not like people can go out and ask around its location to see who could explain some more. Despite the confusion, it looks to be inside a store, so take that hint and run with it if you’re in the New York area. Also, this news comes shortly after a suspect in his murder pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and received a sentence of four years and two months in juvenile detention.

Pop Smoke Mural Gets Blasted Online

Even though this mural isn’t the best look for Pop Smoke’s legacy, given that his fans seem to hate it, the New York legend lives on in many other ways. One of those is his strong connections to other heavy-hitters in the industry who tell stories of what a pleasure he was to work with. “I f***ed with Pop Smoke and the whole Drill sound,” Polo G said on the Full Send podcast. “You know, coming from Chicago, that’s where that s**t started at. So, I really tapped into they s**t. I hit up Pop like, ‘Yo, let’s do this.’ He had been hitting me up in the past, but before I knew who he was. I stayed in New York an extra day to make sure Fivio [Foreign] laid his verse [for ‘Clueless’]. And Pop, a contact was telling me Pop wanted to get in the stu in L.A. the night he passed. ‘Cause I live there, he live there. Wiz Khalifa Shows Off Painted Toenails After Being Roasted

Wiz Khalifa has been clowned on a lot lately for his feet. Back in mid-March, the rapper posted a series of pictures on his Twitter. The photos depicted Wiz in his home studio getting a massage, smoking, and generally looking relaxed. Little did he know that he was about to start a social media firestorm over his feet. The comments on the tweet ranged from hilarity to disgust. Wiz wasn’t really bothered by the response, though. In fact, the rapper responded with a poem about the situation.

In a video posted to his social media, Wiz said, “I wrote a little poem, it’s called, ‘Stop Making Jokes About My Feet.’” The rapper then went on to recite an entire poem about the hate he experienced for his feet. “Stop making jokes about my feet, because that shit ain’t funny. Y’all keep making jokes about my feet, but bitch I got money,” he recited. “You ain’t gonna say it to my face, but you’ll talk about me when I’m gone. Ever the joker, Wiz has continued to troll his haters. Today, he posted a video on TikTok showing off his newly-painted toenails. The short clip simply features Wiz taking a video of himself in his underwear, taking great care to focus on his baby blue toenails. He didn’t recite a poem this time. Instead, he let the video speak for itself. The rapper definitely has a sense of humor.

Comments on the video seemed good-natured, with most either admiring the paint job or the fact that he was in his underwear. “I didn’t even notice the toes on the first watch,” said one very thirsty user. “No more ppl talking ish about his feet.
