Angus Cloud’s Mom Shuts Down Suicide Speculation, Believes Possible Overdose Was An Accident

The world has felt noticeably more gloomy since 25-year-old Angus Cloud unexpectedly made his departure earlier this week. Euphoria fans were shocked to hear the news, which came along with an update that the young entertainer’s death came shortly after he buried his own father. As TMZ reports, Conor Hickey had stage four cancer in his lungs and heart at the time of his death, with the fluid buildup around his lungs marking his ultimate downfall. Cloud and his dad were incredibly close, and his sudden passing left Angus grief-stricken.

Despite how sad he was, though, the redhead’s mother, Lisa Cloud, doesn’t believe his death was intentional. “Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time. I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one,” she wrote via Facebook. Elsewhere, Angus’ mom noted that he was making himself at home by reorganizing his room and moving different items around the house. He had also talked about wanting to help family members through college with his money, which is a large indicator of not being suicidal to Lisa.

“I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up. We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world,” her message continued. “Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case. To honor his memory, please make random acts of kindness part of your daily life.”

News of Angus’ death is certainly tragic, but it also only reminded the world how impactful his soul was. Friends like Drake and Chloe Bailey shared tributes to the late actor, and his Euphoria co-stars have had nothing but fond memories to share when reflecting on his unfortunately short life. Read some of the heartfelt words dedicated to Cloud at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates. RIP.

MF DOOM’s Wife Left With Medical Questions After Rapper’s Unexpected 2020 Death

The three-year anniversary of British-American artist MF DOOM’s death is coming this fall. Thankfully, hip-hop refuses to let his legacy die. Stars like The Weeknd, continue to pay homage to Daniel Dumile in their own performances. Elsewhere, his widow, Jasmin, is doing what she can to seek answers for her husband’s untimely passing. According to Leeds Live, DOOM had been prescribed a new medication to treat his kidney disease and other health concerns. This ultimately led the rapper to struggle with weight gain and anxiety.

Jasmin says that after only two doses, the “Rhymes Like Dimes” artist developed breathing problems that brought him to the local A&E department. At the time, his tongue and throat began to swell. This seems to have tragically played a factor in DOOM’s death. Jasmin has concerns about the treatment her husband received at St. James Hospital, including his “buzzer” being out of reach. Due to this, Dumile was apparently unable to alert medical staff about his deteriorating condition. Instead, he had to phone Jasmin in distress as his swelling became worse.

When speaking to the Wakefield Coroner’s Court, DOOM’s widow mentioned that his room at the hospital looked as though it may have previously been used for storage. She was unable to see him throughout most of his illness due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Jasmin still did what she could to help from home. “I was not able to see him until the 31st (of October) – that’s when the respirator was turned off that was helping him breathe,” she emotionally admitted.

Little more than a week before, Dumile had reportedly complained about an inability to breathe. He attempted to get off his bed but ultimately collapsed and suffered a respiratory arrest. In light of the prolific artist’s death, the hospital trust carried out a “serious incident investigation” to pinpoint what lessons could be learned. Since posthumous appearances from MF DOOM are understandably rare, we’ve compiled a list of other rappers with a similar vibe for you to enjoy. Remembering Prodigy Of Mobb Deep

Legendary rapper Prodigy of Mobb Deep passed away six years ago on June 20. His death in 2017 shook the hip hop community, leading to a widespread commemoration of his significant contributions to the culture. Prodigy died from accidental choking while receiving hospital treatment for sickle cell anemia, which he battled throughout his life.

Both as one half of Mobb Deep and as a solo artist, Prodigy was a hip hop mainstay and consistently carried the flag for east coast hip hop. He was respected among the best rappers throughout his career and continues to be regarded as such even after his death. Today, we remember Prodigy of Mobb Deep.

A Member Of One of Hip Hop’s Most Iconic Duos

Prodigy was most known for being one half of Mobb Deep along with Havoc, alongside rapper and producer Havoc. Together, the Queens, New York rappers became one of hip hop’s most iconic duos. In 1993, they released their debut studio album, Juvenile Hell. Two years later, Mobb Deep shared The Infamous, a landmark project for ’90s hip hop, and cemented them as one of the most significant rap groups of all time. The album’s rough and rugged sound remains influential today.

The Infamous included classic songs such as “Survival of the Fittest” and “Shook Ones (Part II).” The latter is considered by hip hop heads as one of the greatest rap songs of all time. The track’s instrumental has been utilized in the final battle scene of 8 Mile and the Top Dawg Entertainment cypher at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. Prodigy and Havoc’s work after The Infamous were also held in high regard as albums like Hell on Earth, Murda Muzik, and Infamy had classic moments of their own. Although Havoc’s production is a significant reason for the quality and influence of Mobb Deep’s music, many of the most classic lyrics came from Prodigy.

Toward the end of Mobb Deep’s run as a duo, Prodigy and Havoc briefly beefed, leading to a short-lived breakup in 2012. The two eventually reconciled and released their final album as a group, 2014’s The Infamous Mobb Deep. To this day, Havoc continues to tour Mobb Deep’s music in honor of Prodigy.

A Prolific Solo Career

Prodigy may have been most prolific in his music as a part of Mobb Deep, but he consistently released albums as a solo artist as well. His debut solo release, 2000’s H.N.I.C., stuck to the spirit of Mobb Deep but tapped various producers to create a different sound. The song “You Can Never Feel My Pain” saw Prodigy opening up about his sickle cell anemia. He also discussed his long term battles with his disease in his 2011 memoir

The biggest single from H.N.I.C., “Keep It Thoro,” still remains as Prodigy’s biggest and most classic solo track. The Alchemist, who had previously produced Mobb Deep’s “The Realest,” produced the song. Prodigy and The Alchemist developed a close relationship and collaborated on two studio albums: 2007’s Return of the Mac and 2013’s Albert Einstein. Throughout his career, Prodigy rapped about theories of the Illuminati, a central theme of his final studio album. He released his final album, 2017’s The Hegelian Dialectic (The Book of Revelation), five months before his death. His estate posthumously released a sequel to the album in 2022.

Prodigy Often Embraced The New Generation Of Lyricists

Though many rap purists respected Prodigy and considered him an essential figure of ’90s hip hop, he actively embraced the new generation of rappers and collaborated with many of them. Albert Einstein notably featured Domo Genesis and Action Bronson. During his later career, Prodigy also worked with Evidence, Curren$y, Blu, Mac Miller, Childish Gambino, and Wiz Khalifa. He cosigned Griselda early in their career, collaborating with Conway for an EP and performing with them just days before his death. Prodigy’s presence in hip hop is deeply missed. Since his passing, only a few verses of his have been released posthumously. These verses appeared in songs with Statik Selektah, Masta Killa, Conway the Machine, and Sean Price.

Jacky Oh’s Plastic Surgeon Speaks Out For The First Time Since Her Tragic Death

It’s already been two weeks since Jacky Oh’s unexpected death left her partner, DC Young Fly, a single father of three children. Thanks to his strong support system and unwavering faith in God, the comedian has been moving through the situation with grace. Nevertheless, it’s been challenging to lose his other half – especially after seeing Dr. Zach Okhah’s first statement about the situation. The plastic surgeon spoke out on Friday (June 16). Since then, many social media users have made it known that they’re unimpressed with his comments.

“To all my past, current, and prospective patients, PH-1 Miami remains devoted to the highest quality of medical care,” he wrote. “All aesthetic procedures are performed in a hygienically safe environment to universally recognized medical standards.” Furthermore, Okhah made it clear that he’s “relentlessly committed to advancing techniques in the realm of plastic surgery.” Because of this, he and his staff claim to “ensure that each patient is vetted, prepped, and treated according to their individual patient history prior to any surgery.”

Dr. Okhah’s mission is to “help patients achieve the best possible results in the safest and most medically appropriate way.” Of course, he makes no mention of Oh’s fatality in his post, nor does he offer condolences to her family. Comments have been turned off, but that hasn’t stopped people from ranting about the situation on their own profiles. From the last we heard, the investigation into the blonde beauty’s death is still ongoing.

As loved ones continue to mourn the late Jacky Oh, Azealia Banks is facing significant backlash for her comments. Not only are music lovers slamming the “212” hitmaker, but Banks was also clowned by Freddie Gibbs over her controversial rant. Young Dolph Murder Investigation: CEO Teezy Reportedly Killed After Being Named Person Of Interest

Young Dolph’s friends and family haven’t seen legal justice quite yet. Still, the city of Memphis is making it clear that they continue to go hard for the late rapper. Not long after being named a person of interest in the long-running investigation, a man named CEO Teezy was reportedly shot and killed in the city on Tuesday (June 13) night. Local police received a “man down” call shortly before 1 PM local time from Spottswood Avenue near Buntyn Street on Wednesday. There, they found Teezy’s dead body hours after the incident took place.

According to a tweet from ABC24 Memphis reporter Ian Ripple, multiple sources have confirmed the victim’s identity. “The shooting happened last night. MPD was searching for a victim but never found one in the area,” he shared yesterday. “His body was discovered shortly after noon today.” Teezy, and another man, Devin Burns, were both of interest to Memphis PD regarding Dolph’s murder. The former had yet to be formally questioned by police. Elsewhere, the latter was arrested in February 2022 thanks to unrelated charges.

CEO Teezy Murder Reports Surface Online

At the time, Burns was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of property theft amounting $10K – $60K, as per AllHipHop. He received a bond of $100K. The nature of both him and Teezy’s involvement in the PRE rapper’s death remains unclear, though more information will surely come to light as the investigation continues. No suspect information related to CEO’s death has been shared by local police, but they’re continuing to look into that as well.

As the news of Teezy’s death hit social media, the late southern lyricst began trending on Twitter. “If my friends not sliding for me like Young Dolph’s ni**a’s I don’t want it,” one user wrote. “They just dropped that ni**a name yesterday and he off the map today 😭.” Make sure to check back in later for more updates on Young Dolph’s murder investigation, as well as on your other favourite artists. Young Dolph’s Alleged Killer, Jermarcus Johnson, Pleads Guilty To 3 Counts Of Accessory After The Fact

This November will sadly mark the two-year anniversary of Young Dolph’s unexpected and tragic death. Unfortunately his friends and family are still awaiting justice as the Chicago native’s alleged killers go through the court process. One of them, Hernandez Govan, was recently granted a $90K bond. This sent shock and outrage out seeing as he allegedly ordered a hit on the PRE head. Another involved in the case, Jermarcus Johnson, finally pleaded guilty to three counts of accessory after the fact on Friday (June 9).

As WREG reports, Jermarcus is the half-brother of Justin, yet another co-defendant in the case. He’s believed to have acted as a gunman alongside Cornelius Smith during the incident. During today’s hearing, prosecutor Paul Hagerman made it clear that the former wasn’t involved in the planning or shooting of Dolph. Rather, his role was accepting a car and cell phone from his sibling in an attempt to trick probation officers and allow Justin to escape from Memphis, where the rapper was murdered a week before. Despite his attempt to flee, authorities ultimately caught up with Johnson in Indiana.

Jermarcus Johnson Takes Responsibility for His Actions

Presiding Judge Lee Coffee agreed to the terms of the plea deal, which leaves Jermarcus to serve six to 12 years. His exact fate will remain unknown until August 10, when sentencing has been scheduled for. In addition, the accused killer was given a bond of $25K. Prior to today’s agreement, Jermarcus was charged with conspiracy to first-degree murder. Obviously, his new charges are far less substantial but still disappointing to fans of the fallen rapper and his community.

In lighter news, Young Dolph’s estate shared his posthumous Paper Route Frank project in late 2022. It’s since made a strong impression on listeners, and somewhat filled the void left by the southern star’s tragic death. Lil Durk Pays Tribute To Late Brother OTF DThang On Second Anniversary Of His Death

The past few weeks have been busy for Lil Durk, who delayed his Almost Healed album last month in favour of sharing a collaborative single with J. Cole, “All My Life” first. That track alone went on to out-stream NBA YoungBoy’s Richest Opp mixtape as a whole. The album also led the Chicago native to break his own record on the charts on Monday (June 5). He’s definitely been celebrating his latest achievements. Still, this time of year certainly isn’t easy for Durkio to keep a smile on his face.

Two years ago today (June 6), the father of six’s older brother, OTF DThang, was shot and killed in their home state. Durk’s sibling was just 32 years old at the time. Upon his passing, a report from TMZ came out revealing that DThang was hit by gunfire in the head outside of a nightclub. He ultimately died on the spot. He himself had dreams of becoming an artist like his brother but didn’t manage to fully see them realized before his tragic murder.

Jacky Oh Update: DC Young Fly’s Partner Found Unresponsive In Hotel Room After Surgery

Celebrities undergoing cosmetic procedures to enhance their appearance isn’t uncommon. Still, rarely do the results turn out as disastrous as Jacky Oh’s “mommy makeover” last week. As we previously reported, the TV star was declared dead on Wednesday (May 31) following a procedure. At the time, few details were known about the circumstances surrounding her death. Now, however, Local 10 has come through with an update on the tragic situation.

According to a Miami police report, authorities were contacted just before 10 PM. Local fire rescue teams responded to the Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Downtown/Brickell Hotel at 1750 SW First Ave. They received a call about an unresponsive woman and promptly transported Jacky to Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove. Medical professionals made various attempts to resuscitate the 32-year-old, but they ultimately failed. Officers are currently looking further into the mother of three’s unexpected death along with the medical examiner.

Jacky Oh’s Death Under Investigation by Miami Police

Things are presently in the preliminary stages, and information about where or when Jacky underwent her surgery is being kept under wraps. As friends and family await more answers, heartfelt tributes to the blonde beauty continue to surface on social media. Boosie Badazz shed a tear after hearing the news, and Moneybagg Yo publicly showed love to Jacky’s partner, DC Young Fly on Instagram. Seeing as he lost one of his own co-parents just a few months ago, the Memphis native knows the pain all too well.

The Wild N Out starlet welcomed three children with the comedian – daughters Nove and Nala, as well as their son Prince. The latter was born just last year, and after giving birth on three occasions, Jacky was clearly excited to see how her body would transform with her operation. In the time since many fans have expressed sadness over seeing someone as stunning as Oh not recognizing her own natural beauty and ultimately losing her life as a result. Our thoughts are with DC Young Fly and his children at this time. Make sure to check back later for any updates on the investigation into Jacky Oh’s death. RIP.

Tina Turner’s Most Iconic Hits

On May 24th, the world sadly bade farewell to the legendary Tina Turner, who left an indelible mark on the music industry. Her influence is indisputably felt in every successive generation of singers, from her timeless classics to her iconic vocal techniques. Her treasured hits never cease to captivate audiences and fill dance floors. Above all, she became an embodiment of strength, a living testament to the power of resilience.

After battling multiple operations and a debilitating stroke, Turner returned to the stage a force to be reckoned with. Her legacy lives on, inspiring generations of artists, while her classic hits remain timeless club staples. Paring down her discography to only a few songs proved challenging, as a list of fan favorites could easily span twice as long. Yet, indisputably, these tracks showcase the best of Turner – the cream of the crop that continues to mark global charts even decades past their release date.

7. “River Deep – Mountain High” (1966)

Tina Turner’s unmistakable vocal power epitomized her incomparable talent. Resonant with native Tennessean soul, her music often included vivid reflections of her life in the rural town of Nutbush. This song conveys a unique, if brief, snapshot of Turner’s upbringing as she celebrates her beloved “rag doll.” Despite its universal appeal, “River Deep – Mountain High” was not initially successful in the US, yet it gradually gained recognition. Presently, it stands among the most well-known songs of its time.

6. “Nutbush City Limits” (1973)

Tina Turner belts a vibrant, funky ode to her birthplace, “Nutbush City Limits.” Filled with brassy horns and powerful guitar, the track transcends its Southern roots as it forges between classic soul and early disco. Despite its ‘little old community’ origins, the song resonated around the globe. Consequently, it climbed the charts to reach No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. Captivating audiences live, it has become an integral part of Australian dance culture. Conversely, even inspired a popular TikTok dance known as “The Nutbush”.

5. “Private Dancer” (1984)

Mark Knopfler’s masterpiece, “Private Dancer,” is a melancholy seven-minute ode to unachievable dreams. In the track’s middle eight, Tina Turner delicately conveys the forlorn sentiments of the protagonist with her astounding vocal range. Her calming yet powerful approach delivers an eloquent reminder that no matter how hard one strives, their hopes may never come to fruition. Presenting listeners with a lasting impression, the piece builds to a spellbinding guitar solo before abruptly fading away.

4. “Proud Mary” (1971)

Tina Turner’s rousing rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary” became the archetype for all future covers. She infused her performance with infectious energy, boldly proclaiming the transition from soft dynamics to hard power with a spoken-word introduction. “We’ll start this song off nice and easy, then finish strong.” Her fervor and finesse created a masterpiece that gave new life to the classic.

3. “Typical Male” (1986)

Tina Turner’s 1986 album Break Every Rule made a valiant effort to replicate the success of “Private Dancer,” enlisting the same production team with additional songwriting input from Mark Knopfler and David Bowie, as well as a dreamy cover of an Al Green classic (although ultimately omitted). Commencing with the memorable “Typical Male,” this record explores an empowering take on little-me coquetry with a self-assured resolve palpable in the refrain.

Donning Phil Collins on drums and a fiery red dress for the music video, Tina Turner’s 1986 single “Typical Male” found immense success, climbing to No. 2 on the charts and becoming a pop culture staple. Championing female empowerment, the song speaks of an independent woman confidently turning the tables on men, its tone playful yet unwavering in its message. Boosted by a blazing saxophone solo, this classic track truly sparked an era of liberation.

2. “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)” (1985)

Exploring the desert wasteland of a post-apocalyptic world, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was an iconic film in its era. Featuring the enthralling performance of Aunty Entity by Tina Turner, and her heartfelt contribution to the soundtrack, the song “We Don’t Need Another Hero” resonated with viewers of all ages. Though the lyrics seem disconnected from the movie plot, they encapsulate the narrative’s thematic subtext. Its chorus carries a power that still holds today.

1. “What’s Love Got to Do With It” (1984)

Tina Turner’s later work often fails to capture the dynamism and gritty energy of her iconic ’60s and ’70s hits. Her iconic smash hit, “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” exudes a fiery energy that truly embodies the essence of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The track catapulted her back into the limelight from her triumphant Private Dancer album and astonished audiences everywhere.

By weaving together crisp synth sounds with her signature soulful vocals, the Queen of Rock injected new life into her soundscape, a tapestry of countless instruments and heart-wrenching emotion. While lyrics may paradoxically reflect a cynical perspective on love, their vigor and vivacity instantly capture one’s heart.
