Usher Joins Muni Long For Super Sensual “Hrs & Hrs (Remix)”

Usher is known as something of a heartthrob within the music industry, which is what made him the perfect collaborative option for Muni Long’s new “Hrs & Hrs (Remix).” The singer-songwriter first shared the romantic track in 2021, but she continues to find ways to breathe new life into it. While her intro and verse remains the same on this New Music Friday’s (June 23) version, Usher comes in midway through the slow and sensual song to turn up the heat like only he can.

“Where would I be if I didn’t have you? / I’d be a fool / What’s mine is yours and is ours / Yes it is / I’ve never been in love like this / A love like us / Is exactly what I need / Every night for some hours,” the Texas-born superstar beautifully croons. So far fans have been sharing positive reviews of the joint effort online, though it may not be the first time fans of Usher and Long have heard it.

Muni Long Taps Usher for the “Hrs & Hrs (Remix)”

As Rated R&B notes, the “Baby Boo” hitmaker joined Usher during his Lovers & Friends Festival set last month, at which time they sang a duet to a cheering audience. The original “Hrs & Hrs” earned Long her first-ever Grammy for Best R&B Performance, so it’s understandable why she wants to keep the torch lit. However, she’s given us plenty of other new arrivals in the same since then on her Public Displays of Affection: The Album project, and is sure to keep the fire coming as she grows as an artist.

Stream Muni Long’s new “Hrs & Hrs (Remix)” with Usher on YouTube above, or add it to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music. Which version do you prefer more, this weekend’s or the 2021 original? Let us know in the comments, and check back later this weekend for more HNHH release recommendations.

GloRilla Drops “Put It On Da Floor (GloMix)”

GloRilla has finally unveiled her highly-requested remix of Latto’s track, “Put It On Da Floor.” She teased the remix earlier this week, sharing a screenshot of the remix on her Instagram Story. She also previously expressed her admiration for the song, Tweeting that it has “a condo in [her] head.” She’s not the first artist to want to put her spin on the song, as Cardi B recently hopped on a remix called “Put It On Da Floor Again.” City Girls’ Yung Miami also just teased a remix, sharing a snippet with her Instagram followers earlier this week.

GloRilla showed her support for the remix featuring Cardi B upon it’s release, writing, “If Cardi don’t do s**t else, she gone slide on a mf beat. Go cousin.” She later hinted that she may want to have a go, revealing that her fans have been requesting it. “I ain’t did a remix since I blew up,” GloRilla wrote, “But da streets keep telling me to remix ‘Put It On Da Floor,’ and I think I’m finna listen. Dat mf too hard.” Cardi B replied to that Tweet, telling her to “Do it!!!!!!” GloRilla told Cardi to “Say less, cousin.”

GloRilla Seemingly Teases “Put It On Da Floor” Remix

Latto and Cardi B’s “Put It On Da Floor Again” was already a smash hit, and it looks like the song might get even bigger. Not only did Yung Miami recently preview a verse for a remix, but GloRilla hinted at it as well on her Instagram Story. Moreover, she posted a picture of a file that said “(GLO) ON THE FLOOR RMX,” though it unfortunately didn’t have audio like the City Girl’s. With this, hype for a larger and star-studded take on the hit song just got even bigger for many fans online. However, there is the possibility that the Memphis MC is referring to another song similarly titled “On The Floor.”

After all, its “the” instead of “da” in the file name, but what else did she think fans would assume when posting that screenshot? Regardless, some heat from GloRilla is on the way, and that’s the most important thing at the end of the day. Also, the two have collaborated before and shown each other plenty of love, like when Latto hopped on the “F.N.F.” remix. They also appeared alongside Gangsta Boo on the banger “FTCU,” so the two clearly have chemistry.

In addition, the “Lick Or Sum” artist praised “Put It On Da Floor” when it originally came out, tweeting that the song had “a condo in [her] head.” As such, it would be no surprise if she actually got the chance to hop on the song and make yet another banger out of it. Another interesting thing to consider is that Cardi B also showed love to the single upon its release, and she was the first to remix it. Maybe that collaboration makes others harder to believe, but it’s not like remixing the remix has ever been a big no-no in the music industry.

Meanwhile, these two artists, who are hopefully working together again soon, saluted each other after their Grammy nominations. “Well deserved!!!” the 777 artist wrote on Twitter in response to Glo’s celebratory post about her nominations. “G to the L to the O BIG GLO!” She returned the favor by replying, “Congratulations to you as well!!!” For more news and the latest updates on GloRilla and Latto, check back in with HNHH.

DJ Ted Smooth Adds Biggie To Scar Lip’s “This Is New York” In New Mashup

DJ Ted Smooth has unveiled a new remix of Scar Lip’s “This Is New York,” which features added vocals from the late Biggie Smalls. He announced the remix to fans on his Instagram last week, who flooded his comments section with fire emojis. The mashup isn’t the first time “This Is New York” got a remix. Scar Lip’s Snoop Dogg collab “This Is Cali” dropped just last month.

Recently, Scar Lip credited her famous supporters for the success she’s seen as of late. She discussed in her interview with VladTV how shoutouts from Boosie Badazz, Cardi B, and even Shaquille O’Neal boosted her career. “When Boosie reposted me, it felt like I had a shot,” she revealed. “That’s when motion started coming in. His push, [and] his co-sign, got me a lot of press…that shit helped my career a lot.” She went on to share her feelings on Cardi B posting her song on social media. “I couldn’t believe that..that post changed my life,” Scar Lip recalled, “I love her so much.” She went on to further praise Cardi, explaining, “She started from the bottom and raised her way to the top, [and] anybody that feels a way about that…you’re just weird. Everybody starts from the bottom. How could you not be inspired?”

Biggie Joins Scar Lip In New Remix

The 22-year-old revealed how she got Snoop Dogg to collaborate with her in May. She shared screenshots of Instagram DMs between her and Snoop, where she writes, “Hey Snoop, I’m a big fan & love your music. I have a song called ‘This is New York,’ and wanted to know if you’d get on the remix.” After not receiving a reply, she followed up with “Hey Snoop you think u can get on my remix?” Snoop Dogg then told her, “F*ck yes,” and the rest was history.

Scar Lip also just recently signed to Epic Records. Her new label-mate, Swizz Beatz, previously described similarities he sees between the young rapper and the late DMX. “I honestly feel like DMX sent Scar Lip my way because she’s too much of his energy,” he told The Breakfast Club. He went on to say, “she’s amazing and [has] a great heart the same way X had a great heart.”

Skrillex Remixes Nicki Minaj And Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana”

Skrillex recently took the stage at Movement Detroit to share his new remix of Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s collab, “Princess Diana.” An attendee later shared a clip of the performance on Twitter, where fans chimed in. The unexpected crossover has mixed reviews, but Minaj gave Skrillex her stamp of approval. “#PrincessDiana being remixed by @skrillex is crazyyyyy,” Minaj wrote on her Instagram Story alongside the clip. She added a green check mark emoji, letting him know she approves. Skrillex also previously did a remix of Ice Spice’s Like..? track, “In Ha Mood.”

“BRU WHATTTTTTT,” one viewer commented on the clip, adding a shocked emoji. Several other fans insisted that the remix be put on streaming services immediately. One asks, “What we gotta do to get that @Skrillex version of #PrincessDianaRemix on a streaming platform??” Another demands, “drop the Princess Diana Remix NOW.” “MY GOD THIS GOES SO HARD,” a Twitter user writes, dubbing Skrillex’s version as the “garage mix.”

Skrillex’s Unexpected Remix

Skrillex wasn’t the first unexpected matchup to tap Ice Spice lately. She recently joined Taylor Swift on “Karma (Remix),” which landed her the record of largest streaming debut for a female rapper. Some listeners loved the collab, while other critics weren’t fans. Ebro recently shared his thoughts on the remix, claiming that Ice Spice wasn’t “ready for that moment.” He said it happened “too soon,” adding, “I don’t think it’s necessary.” He also claimed “Ice Spice don’t need Taylor.” He went on to describe the remix as a way for Swift to stay relevant to a newer audience. Ebro did, however, call her collab with Nicki Minaj “perfect.”

Ice Spice recently discussed her sudden rise to fame in her April Paper Magazine cover story. “I don’t know if I fit in,” she explained, saying, “I think that’s what makes me so different. I feel like it’s a new lane that I’ve started, and I’m starting to hear a lot of other artists sound like they belong in my lane now.”

Latto & Cardi B Are About To Have The Summer On Lock With “Put It On Da Floor Again”

It’s been three years since Latto graced the cover of the XXL Freshman list but somehow, she still remains as hungry now as she did then. In the past year, we’ve witnessed her incredible rise to pop stardom, thanks to the success of “Big Energy.” The pop-friendly radio record didn’t define her, though. In the months that passed, she continued to showcase her versatility on a number of records that have achieved viral success. However, her latest hit, “Put It On Da Floor” currently has TikTok in a chokehold.

As the song continued to gain momentum on the charts, Latto came through this week with the official remix featuring Cardi B. The two rappers connect on “Put It On Da Floor Again,” which brings the Bronx-born artist into the fold. Serving as Cardi’s first musical offering of 2023, she comes out the gate swinging. The no-holds bars mentality is evident as she targets her adversaries and their affiliates, rapping, “I ain’t smokin’ on no za’, lil’ b**ch, I’m smokin’ on you/ Put your bestie in a pack and now I’m smokin’ her too.”

Cardi B & Latto Collide On The Remix

Although it’s only been a few weeks since the original song came out, the addition of Cardi B elevates the song further. For one, it’s the first collaboration between the two artists, something that feels long overdue. Meanwhile, Cardi doesn’t necessarily aim to steal the show but rather, complement what Latto laid down on the original. It’s another solid effort that will produce many Instagram captions for the months ahead.

The song also arrived alongside a new music video, which includes some star-studded appearances. While Latto takes fans on a Wal-Mart run, she later links up with Cardi B, who is accompanied by her husband Offset. Syncing up with her bars about LSU, Cardi and Latto also nab a cameo from Angel Reese. The many iconic moments will undoubtedly serve up a few gifs on the timeline. But beyond the viral content, Cardi B and Latto came through with a hit. Check the music video and song above.

Beyonce’s Next “RENAISSANCE” Remix Collaborator Is Rumoured To Be Ariana Grande

The time between Beyonce’s Lemonade and RENAISSANCE albums was filled with near-constant nagging for new music from the BeyHive. They’ve quieted down since she dropped the latter project last summer. However, some are still begging the mother of three to share the project’s visuals. To this, she promptly reminded them, “A Queen moves at her own pace, bitch!” She may not have delivered on the RENAISSANCE music videos just yet, but Bey has come through with a ton of surprises since embarking on her world tour earlier this month.

The Houston native revealed via Instagram recently that she’ll be expanding her business empire into the world of hair. It remains unclear exactly what products we’ll be seeing from Beyonce. Seeing as she’s well-known for having consistently fabulous locks, it’s safe to say she’ll make a ton of money. Speaking of cash – she and Jay-Z reportedly paid $200M of just that for their new record-breaking California mansion. It’s been dubbed “ugly” and like a “prison” by some, though it’s hard to deny the impressive architectural work.

Beyonce Continues to Surprise Fans on the RENAISSANCE Tour

Of course, Queen B couldn’t stop there. A few weeks back she tapped Kendrick Lamar to join her on the “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” remix. Several Twitter users have expressed that they’d also like to hear TDE’s Doechii on the track, but just as many are pleased to hear from Kung-Fu Kenny for the first time in a minute. The Hive wasn’t exactly expecting anything else from the Destiny’s Child alum to top all of that, but rumour has it she’s got another major collaboration on the way.

According to @ThePopTingz on Twitter, Beyonce will be joined by “The Way” songstress Ariana Grande on an updated version of “PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA.” The song has become a RENAISSANCE fan favourite, and would surely only be enhanced by the former child star’s vocal talents. Would you be interested in hearing another remix from Bey? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Ice Spice Makes Surprise Appearance At Eras Tour Stop

Taylor Swift had fans riled up this week amidst the Eastern Seaboard leg of her Eras Tour. The star announced a surprise collaboration with red-hot rapper Ice Spice in the form of a remix of Swift’s top-10 hit “Karma”.

However, despite the star power, the track has met with a fairly cool reception outside of the pair’s respective die-hard fandoms. Many social media users have called the “collaboration rushed“, pointing to a fairly muted verse from the usually savage Spice. Furthermore, there are myriad theories that the track is nothing more than a PR stunt. Swift is currently rumored to be dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, who was involved in a podcast episode earlier this year where a plethora of racist comments were made about Spice. Despite this, it hasn’t stopped the pair from putting on a show.

Ice Spice Rocks All Black For Eras

As mentioned, Taylor Swift is currently deep into her 52-stop Eras Tour. The current leg sees her in New Jersey, performing at MetLife Stadium. Furthermore, she’s received a warm welcome from the state – having the state sandwich named after her and getting Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to declare that he is a die-hard Swiftie. However, fans at the May 26 show got an extra surprise when Swift brought Ice Spice out on stage.

Dressed in a stylized wraparound top and matching black skirt with a black shift, Spice wowed alongside Swift, who was dressed in a midnight blue mini dress. The pair performed their “Karma” remix, to the delight of the packed crowd. It’s the perfect spot for Spice to appear. Spice hails from the Bronx, which lies just 11 miles from MetLife Stadium. However, it’s unclear if the Spice will appear at the other two New Jersey shows but fans certainly wouldn’t complain if she did. After MetLife, Swift is headed to Soldier Field in Chicago. Furthermore, the Eras Tour is set to continue until August. Swift will conclude the tour with five shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Furthermore. what did you think of the “Karma” remix? Are you hitting up The Eras Tour? Let us know in the comments.

Jay Rock Confirms New Album On Reason’s”At It Again (Remix)”

Top Dawg Entertainment’s putting in work this year. The label closed out 2022 on a high note with releases from Ab-Soul and SZA. However, Top Dawg confirmed that they had more in store for the year. Reason’s on pace to light on the year with a new project. Although it’s been nearly three years since New Beginnings, he’s released a string of singles, from records like “Barely Miss” to The Game-assisted, “Impalas & Hydraulics.” On top of the number of freestyles he dropped, Reason is evidently in go-mode.

To kick off the campaign for his next body of work, the rapper released “At It Again” earlier this year. With production from Coleman, Motif Alumni, and Tariq, who deliver a triumphant soundscape, Reason comes out the gates swinging with anthemic flows and instantly quotable bars. However, he leveled up the record today with the release of the official remix with a little help from Jay Rock.

Jay Rock Joins Reason On Remix

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Jay Rock. However, he didn’t disappoint fans with the release of his new verse on “At It Again.” Joining forces with Reason, Rock comes through with a firm reminder of why he’s one of the coldest MCs on TDE. Rock glides through the horn-heavy production for his first offering of the year and matches Reason’s high energy. It’s a verse that highlights Jay Rock’s successes from getting it out of the mud to establishing himself in hip-hop. Thankfully, he also gave fans a little update on what he has in store for this year. “Top Dawg hit me like ‘we at it again,’ Rock comin’ soon, new bag for the win,” he raps.

Earlier this year, Top Dawg confirmed that there were a handful of projects from the label on the way. He confirmed Jay Rock would drop this year while also hinting at a potential Black Hippy EP. Although no update surrounding the reunion of the rap supergroup has surfaced since, it’s been five years since Redemption so we’re long overdue for a new album from Jay Rock. Check out the “At It Again” remix above.

Nicki Minaj Jumps On Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town 2”

This new Nicki Minaj feature came out of nowhere. For those who haven’t heard of Sexyy Red, she is an up-and-coming rapper out of St. Louis. She is rapidly establishing herself as a name to watch, partially because of her collaborations. In recent months, she has collaborated with well-known names in the industry such as Summer Walker, NLE Choppa, and Kali. Additionally, she has gained significant attention with her own singles, notably the viral hit “Pound Town.” Her growing presence in the music industry indicates a potentially promising future.

Some may recognize the name Sexyy Red not because of her association with Nicki or other acts but because of two viral lines from the original “Pound Town.” The audio and a clip from the music video have been memed to death on TikTok and other social media outlets. “I’m out of town, thuggin’ with my rounds,” Sexy Redd raps. “My coochie pink, my booty-hole brown.” It’s not exactly top-tier lyrical genius, but it definitely garnered the rapper some attention. Now, the St. Louis rapper has enlisted Nicki Minaj to take things to the next level.

“Pound Town 2” Proves That Nicki Can Shine On Anything

The Barbz probably wouldn’t have expected Nicki Minaj to hop on “Pound Town,” but the rap icon sent an email out to her fans explaining the decision. In it, she tells the Barbz how the remix came to be. “I met with Sexyy Red & found her to be so down to earth and sweet,” Nicki wrote. “I couldn’t hear myself on this song at first but once I let go & decided to just have fun with a bad b!ch, I ended up LOVING how it came out!” The song was already pretty dirty, but the Queen of Rap found clever ways to make it even dirtier with her verse.

“I’ma flip like a hundred bricks, get back on my licks / I’m a b*tch, I want fish and grits, throwin’ hissy fits,” Nicki raps on her verse. “I ain’t talkin’ about chicken when I jerk it with my t*ts / I be twerkin’ on that d*ck, plus, I’m slurpin’ every drip.” Could this be another summer anthem now that Nicki hopped on it? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
