Meech was originally convicted on several counts of criminal conspiracy and money laundering for his involvement in the Black Mafia Family crime ring back in 2008. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but last month, he was released on an agreement to serve the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house. After a reduction, his sentence was brought down to just 292 months. He’ll be out of the halfway house on January 27th, 2026, when he’ll move to supervised release.

Check out Meech’s new smile on Instagram above. It isn’t the first time Sexyy Red has celebrated his release on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) shortly after he got out, she offered to perform for free at his welcome home party. She wrote: “Where da welcome home party @ I’m trona perform for da freeski.” The post quickly went viral online. Be on the lookout for further updates on Big Meech and Sexyy Red on HotNewHipHop.

Desiigner Violated Pretrial Release Terms In Public Masturbation Case, He Admits

Desiigner’s currently facing charges for exposing himself and masturbating on a plane, and his case just got a massive speed bump. Moreover, TMZ Hip Hop allegedly obtained court documents that show that the rapper reportedly admitted to violating terms of his pretrial release. More specifically, these were drug testing to prove a refusal of drug use, having no contact with alleged victims, and abstaining from drinking alcohol. This incident occurred back in April, and this alleged admission could result in the judge revoking his pretrial release and putting him in prison. Furthermore, apparently his probation officer told the court that the “Mafia Water” MC admitted this, and that he failed to attend drug testing.

However, these charges of indecent exposure were explained by the New York artist as a result of dwindling mental health. While it’s never healthy or appropriate to speculate on these issues, it’s certainly a factor that could affect his will or ability to participate in these release terms. As such, we wish Desiigner the best on this tough but surmountable journey of accountability and self-improvement. In fact, he checked himself into a mental health facility to deal with his problems.

Still, apparently the 26-year-old also meant to attend counseling sessions, which the probation officer reportedly said he was unable to verify. In particular, he claimed that Desiigner hasn’t done his due diligence to submit proof of these sessions and his consistent attendance of them. In addition, apparently he hasn’t signed onto co-payment agreements for his drug testing. Also, the former XXL Freshman hasn’t provided the probation office with a P.O. Box address for it.

Meanwhile, this legal trouble served as a backdrop to his various new music releases over the past few months. One of these was “Timmy Turner 2,” a single in which he specifically tackles topics of mental health and personal struggle. With that in mind, it’s at least heartening to see that these developments haven’t stopped his drive to continue his career. But the issue still remains: if he can’t balance the two based on these new reports, then he could face more consequences than he bargained for. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Desiigner.

Young Dolph’s 9-Year-Old Son Launches Clothing Line, “King Of Memphis”

Young Dolph’s nine-year-old son, Tre Tre Thornton, has launched a clothing line titled King of Memphis. The pieces went up for pre-sale, last weekend, marking what would’ve been his late father’s 38th birthday. The line sold out at the time but has since been updated with more stock and is available for purchase.

Tre’s mother, Mia Jaye, expressed how proud she is of Tre Tre in an Instagram post after the release of the collection. “When I say I’m so proud of my son I truly mean it,” she wrote. “I’m actually proud of both of my children and how they have been growing through their hurt, pain and grief… The journey hasn’t been peaches and cream… and we have actually had some rough times especially with Tre being a young boy losing his hero. But by leaning into our village and connecting Tre with an amazing mentor/coach @empowermma Tre’s journey took a turn for the best.”

She added: “Being inspired to create artwork to help express his most inner feelings instead of leaning into anger and inappropriate behavior (which would be rightfully justified due to the adversity/hurt he has faced at such a young age), is a major life accomplishment which I am so proud of as his mother and biggest Cheerleader.”

Young Dolph was shot and killed in 2021 while visiting Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in Memphis. An autopsy later revealed that he suffered 22 gunshot wounds from bullet entries and exits. He was just 36 years old.

Andrew Tate & Brother Tristan Reflect On Release From House Arrest

The case of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan has been a vague, shocking, and certainly contentious one. Moreover, accusations against them of sexual assault, trafficking, and abuse shook the pop culture world, splitting people into staunch deniers and unsurprised critics who already expressed disgust at their online behavior and often misogynistic and bigoted worldview. Still, the case itself doesn’t make it any easier to navigate. Furthermore, the two were held under investigation in prison for a couple of months before an official indictment and set of charges came through. As such, even for those in strong opposition to their actions, their court process has been a murky one.

However, now they are both free to roam wherever they want (as long as it’s within Romania), as a judge ruled in favor of their appeal to end their house arrest. They both took to “X” (formerly Twitter) to express their joy- and try to incite detractors in the process. “After 10 months. 3 in jail, 7 at home,” Andrew Tate wrote, although if we count it since his December arrest, it’s been about eight months in total, but let’s not get lost in details. “After 15 million euro of asset seizures. After an [indictment] based on nothing. The file was passed to a Judge who has ruled it weak and circumstantial. I have been released from house arrest but must remain within Romania. Now. To the Mosque. Alhamdulillah.”

Andrew & Tristan Tate Celebrate (Slight) Freedom

“Judges have release me from house arrest,” Tristan Tate expressed in his own tweet. “It doesn’t matter how many fake screenshots haters share on X. Imagine having spent 2 years running an account showing old videos saying I’m ‘guilty.’ Losers. Justice is justice. The law is the law. Evidence is evidence. I am free.”

Meanwhile, this case is far from over, with a trial on the way after a full indictment. Most likely, the brothers will continue to rile up their supporters and spread their narrative while prosecutors and victims share theirs. It’s not going to be a clean or pretty process, but hopefully justice is served. On that note, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on the Tate brothers.

Kid Cudi Launches Clothing Brand, Members Of The Rage

Kid Cudi launched his clothing brand, Members of the Rage, on Thursday at the London department store, Selfridges. At the release, he spoke with High Snobiety about how the brand came together. Cudi says the late Virgil Abloh and his OFF-WHITE brand served as an inspiration for the effort.

“I had some samples made, and they came back terrible, so I became discouraged and stuck to doing music with some movies on the side. It wasn’t until 2021 that I started getting back into it,” said Cudi. He further explained that he got motivated while quarantining for two weeks in Australia.

“I think without being forced to have free time, I wouldn’t have ever sat down and developed it,” he admitted. “I spoke to Virgil who was really supportive and then reached out to Nigo for guidance on the logo. We went back and forth for a month or so and then we had it.”

From there, he explained he wants the clothing brand to “be a problem for fashion, but a good one.”He elaborated: “People see MOTR and see a Kid Cudi brand, but this isn’t a game. I have goals. We’re coming for the top. I look at what Virgil did [with Off-White™] and that’s the template. If I can do even half of what Off-White™ did for the culture, then I’d be than happy.”

Lil Wayne Speaks On Whether He’ll Drop A “No Ceilings” Tape Again

Lil Wayne has one of the most legendary mixtape runs of all time, whether you’re looking at Da Drought series, the Sorry 4 The Wait tapes, his classic Dedication projects, or the No Ceilings installments. However, the game is very different to what it was when he exploded onto the scene. As such, the New Orleans legend thinks very differently about the process of dropping mixtapes these days- and their viability as a whole. While on The Pivot Podcast, Weezy answered whether he’d be down to drop another tape in the No Ceilings series, which featured popular rap instrumentals of the time behind his bars. To put it bluntly, it seems unlikely, but his explanation paints a much more complex picture.

The times changed,” Lil Wayne remarked to the hosts when asked about No Ceilings. “So what happened is, back then, I could do that. Nowadays, if I do that, the times have changed so much to where nothing is official as far as [dropping] an official album. They don’t do that. What happened is, as soon as we put that out, Drama might put [on] a whole event, it’s gon’ go down. As soon as it drop, those artists are calling our people like, ‘Aye, we want that to be a single.’

Lil Wayne Responds To Question About No Ceilings‘ Next Installment

“Yeah, and ‘We don’t need no date,’” Lil Wayne continued. “They about to pull that off, pay how much you want to pay for it, boom, that’s the original new verse. Ain’t no such thing as a remix no more, so that’s all it really is. That’s their new single, we [might] shoot a video and everything. And that’s what takes the allure of what I was doing.”

Of course, considering the sample-based concepts of many of his mixtapes, it’s understandable why the Young Money boss’ elevated status makes that run a bit tougher. The times have changed indeed, and an artist of Wayne’s caliber isn’t expected to forego commercial opportunities for the sake of releasing music. That being said, with a Benny The Butcher collab on the horizon, there will surely be no shortage of excellent verses from Tunechi. On that note, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Wayne.

Kodak Black Released On $250K Bond After Turning Himself In

Recently, reports emerged that Kodak Black turned himself in to authorities concerning another arrest warrant. For those unaware, these stem from his failure to comply with mandatory drug testing in connection to a July 2022 arrest for drug trafficking. Since then, the Florida rapper has been hard at work on his music while also trying to reckon with the terms of his release. After another instance of him violating these conditions, he went to prison on Monday (June 26) to seemingly address it. However, apparently this all went quite smoothly for Yak- and even wound up being in his favor.

Now, Kodak Black is free from prison on a $250K bond, though that amount has an asterisk attached. According to TMZ reports, he stopped at a Florida jail on Monday to renegotiate the stringent terms of his release in court. After all, these mandatory drug tests and pretrial meetings have apparently been weighing heavily on the 26-year-old. Moreover, his lawyer Bradford Cohen expressed that he wanted to get rid of these restrictions, and the judge in his case actually agreed. Still, the court increased his bond from what he originally paid, $75K, to $250K.

Furthermore, this is the reason why Kodak Black went through another jail booking and took another mugshot at the Broward County jail. Nevertheless, he was reportedly in and out of prison in about an hour and paid the $175K difference to complete his new bond. Ultimately, reports indicate that Cohen is quite happy for his client and sees this as a win. Yak will no longer have to adhere to pretrial and release terms as he travels and tours around the world.

Yak Addresses His Release On Social Media

Meanwhile, the Pompano Beach MC’s recent Instagram Live, where he sat shirtless in a dark room, concerned fans. Many attributed his erratic nature to substance use, although that gossip is purely speculative. Regardless, at least it seems like the Pistolz & Pearlz artist will be able to dodge some of these issues moving forward. How the rest of his case proceeds remains to be seen. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kodak Black.

Kodak Black To Drop Short Film “The Don” Alongside New Album “Pistols & Pearls”

Kodak Black is going for big things for the release of his newly announced album Pistols & Pearls, whether in the audio or visual medium. Moreover, he just announced that he will release his short film The Don on Friday, May 26, the same day that the new project is slated to release. In the trailer for the tale, it seems like it will center around a tough crime story following Kodak’s character as he navigates through trials and tribulations. Thematically, it certainly lines up with some of the topics of gang violence and redemption that Yak raps about. Of course, we’ll have to see if it ties to Pistols & Pearls in more of a strictly narrative or conceptual way.

Regardless, it should make for an interesting diversion, bringing his talents to a different space. “Sign up now with the link for your chance to catch the Exclusive Screening For My Feature Short Film “The Don” in MIAMI, NY, ATL, & LA…” Kodak Black wrote on an Instagram post announcing the short. “Official Release This Friday 5/26 www.officialkodakblack.com.” With this new hype around his artistic endeavors, it’ll probably be the marker of a new era for the Florida MC.

The Don Trailer: Kodak Black’s New Short Film

In addition, along with the announcement of Pistols & Pearls, Kodak Black hinted towards his apparent departure from Atlantic Records. “PISTOLS & PEARLS – 5/26/23,” he wrote on Instagram. “THANX to EVERYONE THATS BEEN ON THIS JOURNEY WITH ME LUVIN & THUGGIN ! I COULDNT FIND PEACE WITHOUT ALL THE VIOLENCE @atlanticrecords It’s Been Well !!! Nothing But Gratitude & The Utmost Respect.” Furthermore, a lot of things are changing in the 25-year-old’s artistic portfolio, and fans are excited to see how they play out.

Meanwhile, Yak also recently made big moves in the movie world in more traditional, but nonetheless exciting ways. His track with NLE Choppa, JVKE, Muni Long, and Jimin for the Fast X soundtrack, “Angel Pt. 1,” is one of many star-studded cuts on the compilation. Whether it’s of his own design or as part of a larger team, he clearly wants to level up with these new moves. For more news and the latest updates on Kodak Black, keep checking in with HNHH.

Mozzy Reportedly Released From Jail

Last year in July, Mozzy turned himself in on federal gun charges and began serving his one-year-sentence. While many believed that this meant he would see release in July of this year, recent reports indicate that the Sacramento, California native is out sooner than expected. Moreover, jail records from the USP Atwater Prison indicate that authorities actually released the rapper around three days ago as of writing this article (ergo, Thursday, May 4). While not many details emerged around his release since then, this should be promising and happy news for him, his loved ones, and fans.

Despite serving time behind bars, the 35-year-old continued to release new music to hold fans over. His most recent release, which dropped earlier in April of this year, was the Kollect Kall EP, boasting six new tracks. Furthermore, Mozzy tapped YFN Lucci, Baby Money, E MOZZY, and Celly Ru as featured guests on the short but sweet project. In addition, he also provided a few guest appearances, singles, and more while completing his sentence. Now that he’s reportedly out of prison, fans should expect even more from the “Famous (I’m The One” MC.

Jail Records Point To Mozzy’s Early Release

For those unaware, Mozzy is a signee to Yo Gotti’s record label, CMG, as of February of last year. “Welcome to the Family @mozzy,” the Memphis magnate wrote on Instagram upon the partnership’s announcement. As such, he formed part of many releases from the CMG camp in the months that followed, which will surely rise exponentially in the coming year. Even if it doesn’t, the increased visibility that such a signing provided keeps his name well within conversation, and all he needs is some hits to solidify it. “COCAINE MONEY GANG,” Mozzy shared in a post of his own. “Appreciate the opportunity. Big dawg.”

With an official CMG chain bestowed upon him, his sentence dampened what was shaping up to be a promising career. Regardless, the rapper did his time with a lot of diligence and dignity, as it’s not easy to turn yourself in like that. Hopefully the next few months see him reconnecting with family, working hard on his goals, and reentering the rap world with a vengeance. For more updates and the latest news on Mozzy, keep checking in with HNHH.

Nipsey Hussle’s “Victory Lap” Almost Didn’t Get Released, MyGuyMars Recalls

Nipsey Hussle‘s 2018 album Victory Lap almost didn’t happen, according to MyGuyMars. The producer reflected on the making of Nipsey’s iconic album during a recent interview with HipHopDX. He explained to the outlet that almost everyone working on it was unsure it would ever be finished.

“I definitely remember the conversations [about Victory Lap] from Nip, but I remember more-so the conversations from everybody else saying it’s not coming out,” MyGuyMars told interviewer Jeremy Hecht. “It was crazy because he had an era where he was low-key blackballed and then you know, a gangsta from L.A. is not the most accepted internationally. So it was like the odds were really against us so we had to do more than anybody else to break these records, to break him.”

He continued: “It was even songs like the songs that y’all hear now. We had to go in and really treat ourselves like if we were the other producers. We were competing with ourselves. Like take the beat out and do another beat or take the vocal and try something else. So I think with Nipsey having that energy and us challenging each other, that’s what made the songs the greatest songs and the greatest stories and people feel like, ‘Dang, I’m riding on Crenshaw right now,’ or, ‘I could see the songs and it sound like it look!’ Because he was very intentional like you said about how he wanted to convey the things and because we knew that info we were able to convey it sonically.”

He also explained that there was pressure to “create the best that you can” while in the studio for the project. From there, MyGuyMars revealed that the team took influence from Dr. Dre and his work on Doggystyle and The Chronic. “We studied what Dre was doing with Doggystyle, The Chronic. These are classic projects and we wanted to do a classic project and that was Nip’s whole thing. He was like, ‘In order to do a classic project, I have to have my main producers and establish a sound.’ So like anything that happened, it came through us. Even if it was outside producers – if we had to retouch the beats, if we had to remake the beats. But that’s why I feel like the energy was so fire because you had to come with your A-game or don’t come in the studio.”
