Kodak Black To Drop Short Film “The Don” Alongside New Album “Pistols & Pearls”

Kodak Black is going for big things for the release of his newly announced album Pistols & Pearls, whether in the audio or visual medium. Moreover, he just announced that he will release his short film The Don on Friday, May 26, the same day that the new project is slated to release. In the trailer for the tale, it seems like it will center around a tough crime story following Kodak’s character as he navigates through trials and tribulations. Thematically, it certainly lines up with some of the topics of gang violence and redemption that Yak raps about. Of course, we’ll have to see if it ties to Pistols & Pearls in more of a strictly narrative or conceptual way.

Regardless, it should make for an interesting diversion, bringing his talents to a different space. “Sign up now with the link for your chance to catch the Exclusive Screening For My Feature Short Film “The Don” in MIAMI, NY, ATL, & LA…” Kodak Black wrote on an Instagram post announcing the short. “Official Release This Friday 5/26 www.officialkodakblack.com.” With this new hype around his artistic endeavors, it’ll probably be the marker of a new era for the Florida MC.

In addition, along with the announcement of Pistols & Pearls, Kodak Black hinted towards his apparent departure from Atlantic Records. “PISTOLS & PEARLS – 5/26/23,” he wrote on Instagram. “THANX to EVERYONE THATS BEEN ON THIS JOURNEY WITH ME LUVIN & THUGGIN ! I COULDNT FIND PEACE WITHOUT ALL THE VIOLENCE @atlanticrecords It’s Been Well !!! Nothing But Gratitude & The Utmost Respect.” Furthermore, a lot of things are changing in the 25-year-old’s artistic portfolio, and fans are excited to see how they play out.

Meanwhile, Yak also recently made big moves in the movie world in more traditional, but nonetheless exciting ways. His track with NLE Choppa, JVKE, Muni Long, and Jimin for the Fast X soundtrack, “Angel Pt. 1,” is one of many star-studded cuts on the compilation. Whether it’s of his own design or as part of a larger team, he clearly wants to level up with these new moves. For more news and the latest updates on Kodak Black, keep checking in with HNHH.
