Mariah Carey’s Ex Breaks Silence On Their Breakup

Earlier this month, it was People who first broke the news that Mariah Carey’s relationship with her long-time boyfriend could be on the rocks. They reported that fans had taken notice of his reported absence from Carey’s Christmas tour. He’s been along for the ride with her for years, so much so that his absence was noticed immediately. That turned out to be the first clue on the road to a full-on public announcement of their breakup last week.

The pair had been together for 7 years leading up to their recent split. Carey is still yet to comment on the matter in any official statement. But her ex Bryan Tanaka has now shared a statement to social media addressing the split. The first part of the statement sees him acknowledging the breakup officially and reflecting on his enjoyment of the time the pair spent together. He also points out how good Mariah was to her children and family and describes her as being warm and kind. The statement ends with a request for privacy regarding the matter. Mariah Carey’s Ex Makes A Statement

In the comments fans praise Tanaka for the way he handled the situation. “Whatever happens, I know you guys really loved and respected each other. In the late ‘90s, Hollywood was abuzz with the tale of two rising stars: Matt Damon and Minnie Driver. Their on-screen chemistry in the critically acclaimed film Good Will Hunting (1997) spilled into real life. As a result, the media and fans absolutely couldn’t get enough of them.

As the leading man and lady of the Oscar-winning film, Damon and Driver’s relationship became a subject of fascination among onlookers. Unfortunately, their romance soon came to an end. Now, over two decades after they parted ways, their old relationship is stirring up conversations once again. After a video from the 1998 Oscars recently resurfaced, the names of the former lovers have returned to fans’ lips. Here’s a timeline of their brief ‘90s romance.

April – June 1997: Matt Damon & Minnie Driver Meet & Start Dating

In 1998, Damon and Driver met on the set of Good Will Hunting. Filming for the movie took place between April and June 1997. Within that time, the two became pleasantly acquainted. As filming progressed, so did their relationship- both for the characters they portrayed and in real life. They took a liking to each other, and by the time filming wrapped in June, they were smitten. 

Subsequently, they began dating, marking the beginning of a passionate but short romantic relationship. In an interview with The Telegraph in 2012, Driver spoke about how she fell in love with Damon during the making of the movie. “In real life, by the time we filmed this scene, I was completely in love with Matt,” she said. “I was blown away by his commitment to me as an actor, he was cute and intelligent and altogether a really charming package. I was young and I fell for him – it’s an occupational hazard.”

Late 1997: All Loved Up

During the promotion of Good Will Hunting and in subsequent interviews, Damon and Driver were often seen together. Admittedly, they were co-stars, so it was only natural. However, they had started dating by then, and their chemistry was undeniable whenever they appeared on-screen together. In an interview on the Late Show with David Letterman, Matt Damon enthusiastically spoke about Minnie Driver and their relationship. The actor said that she “pretty much rocked my world.”

January 1998: A Surprising Announcement

After a couple months of being together, things came to a surprising end between Driver and Damon. On an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in January 1998, Matt Damon shared that he was single. According to E! News, Damon said on the show, “Well, I’m single. I was with Minnie for a while, but we’re not really romantically involved anymore. We’re just really good friends, and I love her dearly… I care about her a lot. We care about each other a lot. It wasn’t meant to be, you know? And if it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be.”

Subsequently, Minnie Driver addressed the matter of their breakup. Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, the actress stated, “It’s unfortunate that Matt went on Oprah; it seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate. Two months after the Oprah interview, the 70th Academy Awards ceremony took place. Both Damon and Driver were nominated in acting categories, and their movie had seven more nominations. Although neither won in their acting categories, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck bagged a win for Best Screenplay. Additionally, the late Robin Williams won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

During their acceptance speech, Damon and Affleck acknowledged several people, one of whom was Minnie Driver. When her name was mentioned, the camera panned to the actress’ face, and she had a forlorn look rather than one of joy. This is the clip that recently resurfaced and sparked conversation. Fans, upon seeing the clip, pointed out that Driver looked quite sad, even though her co-stars had just won an award.

Minnie Driver Responds

The clip was posted on the MovieShmood Instagram account. Minnie Driver commented, “My face,” alongside multiple laughing emojis. Additionally, she replied to a comment under the post that read, “Minnie looks so sad.” In her response, she was as clear as day about the reason for her expression. 

“Matt had ended our relationship a few weeks before this, and was at the Oscars with his new gf… I was devastated. Wish I could have celebrated more as it was an amazing moment for all of us, and for this wonderful film,” she wrote. At the end of the day, however, It’s been 25 years since they went their separate ways. Moreover, they have both moved on with their lives. Damon has been married to Luciana Bozan since 2005, and Driver is currently engaged to Addison O’Dea.

No matter what their marital status is, the 32-year-old made it clear earlier this week that he’s not being disloyal to Fletcher, despite what “receipts” social media sleuths think they have on him. “I don’t even [know] who [the f**k that] is bra. [Please] leave me alone [with] all [that] type s**t,” Bagg said in response to photos of an anonymous woman posing in front of the same pool as him going viral. “We peaceful and happy over here,” the Memphis native added, seemingly referring to his union with Ari.

Blueface Once Again Denies Being Chrisean Jr’s Father

For most people, the holidays are a time to be with family, but sometimes that can get complicated. In Blueface’s case, that’s complex for a number of reasons but there’s one that’s under the spotlight right now. Many have taken it for granted that Blue is the father of the baby that Chrisean Rock recently gave birth to. Fans were pretty confident of it at first after the baby’s paternity was tested before it was even born and reportedly confirmed to be Blue. But in the months since, he’s introduced some doubt.

In a recent interview, Blueface once again denied being the child’s father. It’s not the first time he’s done this but in the new clip, he expands on his reasons a bit. In the video, he explains that since he already has children, he knew what to expect with the look of his alleged son with Chrisean. When the baby didn’t turn out the way he anticipated it made him question whether or not it was his. in the video he even speculates that the real father could be Chrisean’s ex who he accuses her of cheating on him with. Cardi B and Offset have briefly reunited for Christmas. The move appears to have been made in order to minimize the disruption to their children’s holiday. In a collection of videos posted to Instagram, Cardi showed off her kids opening their various presents. However, fans quickly noticed that Offset was also present, helping Wave open some of his gifts.

However, this comes just days after Cardi was up in the club yelling “f-ck my baby daddy” for all to hear. It’s clear that the recently-split couple are only doing this for the sake of their kids and that they have no reconciled. Akbar V Shows No Love For Cardi B

However, White wasn’t the only person who has expressed disdain for Cardi as of late. Akbar V showed Cardi no love after the latter’s tearful rant about her split from Offset. Akbar savaged Cardi, joking that she’d “cry to” if her “man’s hairline was going up the middle like that”. Overall, Akbar appeared to take pleasure in tearing down Cardi while she was at her lowest. However, not many people have supported her line of thinking online.

Memphitz has hit back at claims that he physically abused K. Michelle. Appearing on a talk show, Memphitz claimed that Michelle had straight up told him that she was going to telling people that he abused her. This was due to Michelle not wanting to see him happy in his then-upcoming marriage to Toya. This goes against the deposition that Memphitz underwent in which he admitted to abusing Michelle. However, in this new clip, which you can see in full below, Memphitz bluntly states that he “never hit that crazy b-tch”.

However, fans weren’t having it online. “He so sick he know he beat the daylights out that woman because we seen how you treated Toya. SMH only if Rasheeda woulda believed K. She also spoke about feeling like she was being “coached” because the date was for a stream and it involved Speed talking about things like cheating on previous partners. She was very candid about the relationship feeling “fake” when it began and slowly turning into something more real.

Meanwhile, Speed set up an all-star boxing match for March 2024 with Kai Cenat. While neither man has stepped into the world of celebrity boxing as of yet, they have certainly chosen a star-studded debut. Of course, the pair have worked closely together since they set up a new content house earlier this year. On September 12, Cenat announced that he would be teaming up with IShowSpeed to launch their own house. However, unlike traditional content houses, where the creators live together, that won’t be the case for this new project. “Shoutout to the CEO of Rumble. Whenever I am in Miami they got us a new house that we could just go by. Me and Speed. No, we are not going to be living in there. We are not going to be moving in and sh-t like that. It’s just for us, our sh-t. That’s probably the best news I had in the past week,” Cenat said while streaming.

Furthermore, Cenat was instrumental in another milestone for Speed this year. peed has officially unbanned by Twitch in October, with his reaction was captured live on stream.”N-gga, we are back. Let’s go,” Speed screamed repeatedly. Speed has streamed on YouTube since December 2021, after being permanently banned by Twitch. Despite not actually streaming on Twitch, Speed was banned by the platform following an appearance on an Adin Ross stream. Speed made a number of sexist remarks and even alluded to sexually assaulting a woman while appearing on Ross’ dating show. Furthermore, Speed was a minor at the time of the incident. Additionally, Cenat had long pushed for the platform to unban his friend.
