Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s recent and rare interview, conducted by the one and only Big Boy, has a whole lot of stuff to unpack. The controversies attached to VULTURES, the music itself, the duo’s future moves in terms of its next installments, and so many more tidbits and caveats. However, one of the most curious parts of the interview was when the Chicago artist was asked about his current relationship with his religious faith. It’s been a pillar of his music since its inception, and Big Boy asked if he feels “comfortable” enough to assert that he’s a man of God, but that he’s focusing on VULTURES.

“It is, but you know, I have my issues with Jesus,” Ye began, with Ty by his side. “It’s a lot of stuff I went through that I prayed, and I ain’t see Jesus show up. So I had to put my experience in this world -– my experience with my children, my experience with other people, my experience with my account, my experience with my brand, and my experience with the level of music that I was dealing with -– in my own hands. Like, a lot of times, I just feel like in our society and America, Christians will depend on Jesus so much that we won’t put the word in ourselves.

“And the main thing that, really, that I don’t rock with, it’s just always like, ‘I’ma pray for you,’” Ye continued. “And it’s just like, you can actually physically do something yourself, too. More than just praying. And we’re so in this mentality that that’s all that needs to happen, but we ain’t praying our way out of prison. We ain’t praying our way out of the abortion clinics. We ain’t praying our way to get our land back that was always ours. After gentrification, after the Harlem Renaissance and Black Wall Street was burned to the ground. Them prayers ain’t working. We gon’ have to apply actual, physical, building partnerships, and it don’t start unless we can really be real with each other and say, ‘This is what I did, this is what I did.’

“Like, I mean, look at this. I know -– I’m not gon’ third-rail y’all interview, but look at the power of what happened when me and Kyrie was on the same page,” he concluded. “See, that’s what’s scary. But what they do is that they put us each in asylum and say, ‘Your grandmother gon’ lose her crib.’ You know how many threats we’ve been dealt with? And I ain’t pray my way through them threats, either. I had to get up and do it myself. I have so much to do, I ain’t have time to pray. Diddy Reveals How Much Winning The Global Icon Award Means To Him

The 2023 MTV VMAs took place just last week on September 12 and it was a terrific broadcast. There were a plethora of wholesome moments and outstanding performances on display. You had all of the endearing photos of Taylor Swift rooting for others and having a blast with Ice Spice. Megan Thee Stallion was back on stage after all of the turmoil surrounding the Tory Lanez situation. Metro Boomin put on a touching performance with “Superhero” and “Calling,” making it a tribute to his late mother. All of these were great to see live, but we cannot forget about Diddy.

He took home debatably the biggest award of the evening. According to USA Today, the Global Icon Award, “celebrates an artist or band whose unparalleled career and continued influence have achieved a unique level of global success in music and beyond.” That is the honor that Diddy proudly walked away with and rightfully deserves. With all of his business ventures and the impactmon music, there is really no one more worthy of that status.

Diddy Is Truly One Of A Kind

In a recent interview with extratv‘s YouTube channel that was obtained by AllHipHop, the rap icon was asked about his recent acceptance of the Global Icon Award. Its all good, when INSANO drops, we’ll see whats what.” Actually, it’s a bit unclear whether the Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven artist left the song in the dust or if he just deleted the snippet and still plans to release the song. Either way, it’s a calm, fair, and understanding way of responding to negative fan feedback.

Lil Xan Looks Back On His Controversial Tupac Comments, Clarifies Them

Moreover, he called Tupac Shakur “boring” during a 2018 interview, which made old heads and younger fans alike immediately discredit him. Other examples of this included Lil Yachty calling Biggie Smalls “overrated,” but Xan’s comments rang especially blasphemous to many. However, the California MC’s grown a lot since then, and believes he finds himself in a much better space these days. While speaking to AllHipHop for an interview, he explained the circumstances behind it, but interestingly enough, maintained that he wouldn’t change it if he had the chance today.

“That interview should’ve never even been aired ‘cause I wasn’t in a good place during the interview,” Lil Xan stated. “I was angry at that time. And all that came down to was a result of me just trying to get the interview done quicker. I was like, ‘Next question. Next question.’ And then they just give me questions and I’m messing around.

“I think Tupac is a legend,” Lil Xan continued. “I don’t have to explain myself to anybody, but I grew up on a lot of old school West Coast, a lot of old school East Coast. But after that, that was just a little mishap. It was the result of me not being as mature as I am today. Inexperienced with interviews a lot, too. If you would ask me if I could go back and rewrite that, I wouldn’t though. Because it started an interesting conversation in hip-hop. I did get a lot of backlash, of course, but as the years have gone by since that moment, it started what I think is a very good conversation in hip-hop.

“Diddy admitted to exposing Usher to older women, a hyper-sexual lifestyle, and trying to get him to lose his virginity when Usher was around 14/15,” one person wrote. “Lest I digress, I believe Usher’s relations with women and his life might have been different had it not been for Mr. Love,” they further speculated. Another account pointed out that the core issue many have isn’t with the father of seven’s rumoured involvement with the LGBTQ+ community.

Rather, concerned fans have a problem with him “[using] his closeted [sexuality] to take advantage of young men and women in the industry,” according to reports from various sources. “Promising things in exchange for sex/sexual dominance & favours. THAT IS THE ISSUE,” they expressed in their contribution to the ongoing debate.

Boosie Looks Back On Life Before Prison

Baton Rouge rapper Torrence Hatch, A.K.A “Lil Boosie”, recently went on Revolt and reflected on some of the decisions he’s made in the past. When asked if he would have made different choices the rapper responded with: “I woulda done everything different. I woulda took rapping serious, like, 8-9 years ago. I woulda done it totally different if I could take it back, ’cause I ain’t wanna go to jail man.”

On October 22, 2008, Hatch was arrested after police found marijuana and a Glock in his car. Boosie pled guilty to the drug charges and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The rapper was electronically monitored and placed under house arrest between the time of his plea and sentencing; unfortunately for the 39-year-old, his sentence was doubled once authorities found out he had broken house arrest, thus, violating his probation. In the summer of 2010, Boosie was also charged with first-degree murder. He was 26 at the time.

In late 2009, during his last few hours as a free man, the controversial figure would sit down and talk about his life decisions before being put behind bars soon after. “They’re treating me on who they think I am,” he said at the time. “They judging me on Boosie Bad Azz, not Torrence Hatch.”

The “Wipe Me Down” recording artist explained to Revolt that there’s a difference between the music he makes and the life he actually lives. He also went on to explain the reason for breaking his house arrest, stating that he was sued by promoters for missing his concert dates and was worried that if he missed more shows he wouldn’t have the money to support his family. Boosie was a father of seven at the time, with one more on the way.

“I had to go do these two shows these last two days to feed my family,” Hatch recalled.

The Louisiana-born star is 39 now, and while he wishes he would have done things differently in the past, he understands that he put himself in those situations. “I ain’t wanna go to jail bro. But that’s how it goes, you know? I chose that life,” Torrence admitted during his Revolt interview.
