Diddy Reveals How Much Winning The Global Icon Award Means To Him

The 2023 MTV VMAs took place just last week on September 12 and it was a terrific broadcast. There were a plethora of wholesome moments and outstanding performances on display. You had all of the endearing photos of Taylor Swift rooting for others and having a blast with Ice Spice. Megan Thee Stallion was back on stage after all of the turmoil surrounding the Tory Lanez situation. Metro Boomin put on a touching performance with “Superhero” and “Calling,” making it a tribute to his late mother. All of these were great to see live, but we cannot forget about Diddy.

He took home debatably the biggest award of the evening. According to USA Today, the Global Icon Award, “celebrates an artist or band whose unparalleled career and continued influence have achieved a unique level of global success in music and beyond.” That is the honor that Diddy proudly walked away with and rightfully deserves. With all of his business ventures and the impactmon music, there is really no one more worthy of that status.

Diddy Is Truly One Of A Kind

In a recent interview with extratv‘s YouTube channel that was obtained by AllHipHop, the rap icon was asked about his recent acceptance of the Global Icon Award. With all of the accolades he has worked so hard for, Diddy feels this is one of his best achievements. He says, “I ain’t gonna lie, it is like I’m living the dream. You have to understand just being from Harlem, just being a kid growing up watching MTV… it is like one of the biggest honors I could ever imagine receiving.” It seems that he will remember this period of time in his life and for good reason. He is a mover and shaker in the industry and it is great to see him be recognized for it.

2023 MTV VMAs Red Carpet: Nicki Minaj, Yung Miami, Megan Thee Stallion & More

One of the biggest evenings in music went down without a hitch last night (September 12), as the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) were the talk of the industry. Hundreds of stars descended on the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, to celebrate the year’s highlights in all things music and pop culture. This year was particularly special for the Barbz, as Nicki Minaj hosted the star-studded event.

Of course, MTV made sure to make Minaj feel as welcome as possible, as the VMA logo was even changed to her favorite shade of pink. The performances were also hot topics of conversations across social media, which included the likes of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion as a duo, Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Future, Metro Boomin, Nav, Swae Lee, and a Diddy Global Icon Medley, led by Sean Combs, himself. Additionally, the Hip Hop 50th Medley saw some of the genre’s greats take to the stage. Doug E. Fresh, LL Cool J, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, and DMC were just a few who joined for an epic celebration. Minaj also lent her talents to the show, where she even previewed a track set to be featured on her anticipated forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2.

Prior to the event kicking off, the red carpet was sizzling with our favorite entertainers’ hottest looks. They were dissected, praised, and critiqued online—some more than others. Although Ashanti was flying solo for the night, she made sure her boo Nelly was present, with a picture of the couple printed on her clutch purse. Doja’s web-like gown turned heads, and Offset’s hair clips were a cultural statement, while Weezy and Lil Uzi Vert kept things simple—yet expensive—with their ‘fits. Saweetie’s bone-accessory gown had social media calling her dress Flintstone’s Fashion, but it was Yung Miami’s red carpet display that stole the show. Doja Cat Goes Almost Topless With Barely-There VMAs Spiderweb Dress

Doja Cat is someone who has been trying their hardest to be provocative as of late. Overall, the artist is looking to go in a direction on her album Scarlet. “Paint The Town Red” is now the number-one song on the Billboard charts which means her new music isn’t exactly “abrasive” or anything like that. Some would say her pop-rap formula has stayed intact. However, no one will know for sure what the full scope of her direction is once the album comes out. For those who don’t know, the release date is September 22nd.

Last night, Doja Cat found herself at the MTV Video Music Awards. While at the awards show, she got to perform a medley of her singles from Scarlet. This happened the same day that she revealed the album’s tracklist. The project is going to consist of zero features, and fans are curious as to how that will play out. As for Doja’s look last night, well, she was almost naked on the red carpet. If you check her Instagram, you will see a Spider-Web-inspired dress that barely covers her breasts.
