Last month, it was revealed that Kendrick Lamar was in the process of shooting a new music video for his track “Not Like Us.” He was spotted filming it in Compton alongside a huge crowd of fans and peers, leaving fans eager to see what was to come. An official release date for the video has yet to be revealed, though supporters recently got an exciting first look with some teaser photos.

In one of them, Kendrick is seen swinging at an owl-shaped piñata. “No OVH*es were harmed in the making of this video,” a disclaimer at the bottom of the image reads. Of course, this has gotten Kendrick fans more anxious than ever to see the video. Drake fans, on the other hand, aren’t happy.

Artists Pay Tribute To Enchanting Following Her Untimely Death

The death of Enchanting has rocked the music world. The rapper was revealed to be on life support the evening of June 10, and she died the following day. Enchanting was best known for her connections with Gucci Mane and 1017 Records, but she received an outpouring of tributes from other artists when news of her death was made official. Some of the artists were former collaborators, others were merely friends who were shocked to see Enchanting die at such a young age.

Omeretta the Great issued a heartfelt statement on Instagram. The rapper collaborated with Enchanting on the 2023 single “Want No Beef,” and included footage of her and Enchanting on the set of the music video in her post. “Chant,” she wrote in the caption. “You just hurt my feelings girl you ain’t deserve this. So damn talented pretty af literally the prettiest. You wasn’t done yet I h8 this.” Omeretta then shifted the focus to Enchanting’s family. “My heart goes out to all your family and friends,” she added. ‘You was so loved out here. “Got ur wings early.”

Multiple Rappers Shared Their Enchanting Stories

Yella Beezy and Tokyo Vanity were two other artists who posted photos alongside Enchanting. The former told the rapper to “rest easy,” while the latter posted a lengthy message that recounted her time with Enchanting. “[We’d] always randomly link up and have the best time,” Tokyo Vanity wrote. “Always calling and texting checking on each other laughing and joking… You were always a good time by friend… You will truly be missed my bby.” Drebae posted tributes to Enchanting on both X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. The first asserted how much it hurts to see young people pass away. The second looked back on the times he spent with Enchanting. “Wish I could go back in time,” he wrote. “Those moments were everything. We love you.”

Gucci Mane, Enchanting’s former label boss, also issued a statement. He posted a photo of the rapper on his Instagram and wrote: “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady, a true star. We gone all miss you, Chant.” The circumstances surrounding the rapper’s death are still unknown. Enchanting’s sister broke the news of her dire condition, and Gucci confirmed that she had passed when he posted the aforementioned tribute.

Meek Mill has been subject to numerous strange headlines over the years, this year especially. Some of that came from bizarre allegations made against him in producer Lil Rod’s evocative lawsuit against Diddy filed earlier this year. Meek was included in the lawsuit though claims allegedly made by Diddy that the pair had a sexual encounter. Unsurprisingly, that resulted in a field day of roasts from rap fans online that’s lasted for months.

Now it’s something that Meek said directly that has rap fans scratching their heads. “Today I seen biggie in a casket I stared at that pic for 30mins a Straight!” his new post reads. It’s the lack of any context that has led fans to speculate on what he’s talking about. For example, he doesn’t give any information on who has the alleged picture of Biggie or how he came into contact with it. That’s led many fans to crack jokes about Diddy, who is directly associated with Biggie. The post certainly isn’t doing Meek any favors in terms of getting clowned by fans online. For many of Diddy’s former allies, the leaked footage of his alleged assault of Cassie was the final straw. Overnight, Vince Staples dropped his new album Dark Times. The project arrived just a few days after its original announcement and with only one single, the track “Shame On The Devil.” The album occasionally lives up to its name with the type of brutal self-reflection and serious lyrical subject matter that has defined much of Vince’s music throughout his career. The 13-track record runs just over 35 minutes, in line with the shorter projects he’s made a habit of releasing ever since 2018’s Big Fish Theory. Though the album has been out for less than 24 hours, it’s already landing incredibly positive reception from fans.

Social media is buzzing with fans reacting to Staples’ new album and much of the discussion is incredibly positive. One song in particular seems to be attracting a ton of early interest as the best of the bunch. “Etouffee” pops up around the mid-point of the record and seems to be a fan-favorite right out of the gate. Joe Budden Explains Decision To Cut Diddy Segment From Latest Podcast

Joe Budden says he’ll be addressing the resurfaced video of Diddy appearing to assault Cassie during a future episode of his podcast after fans noticed he cut his initial reaction from the “Two Brands, One Stone” episode. He explained his decision to do so while speaking on X Spaces on Saturday. CNN released the disturbing footage the afternoon before.

One user on social media noticed that the timestamp for a discussion about the situation was still in the description of the episode in question. “We were in the middle of our show when that news broke,” Joe explained to his fans. “So we spoke about it for four minutes and at the end before Sleepers [segment] we spoke about it again for another four minutes and we went on about our day.”

Gangsta Boo’s ex-partner, Emmet Flores, is facing backlash on social media for scrubbing his Instagram of pictures of the late rapper. He revealed that he’s in a new relationship back in December and in the time since, fans have complained about him “moving on.” On Monday, he shared a picture with the new girl celebrating their first anniversary together.

“I get moving on, but why clear everything posted about gangsta boo?” one follower asked, as caught by AllHipHop. “Thats mad disrespectful imo. She was a part of past and helped u become the man u are now. Deleting her photos won’t change how u feel about her. Its givin insecure new girl.” Another wrote: “Definitely nothing wrong with moving on but I do find deleting every pic of lola — a bit weird.” Other users shared more positive responses to the news and supported his newfound happiness.

When Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul didn’t attend her service, fans voiced their frustration with him as well. “Lemme explain something to y’all b*tch ass n****s out there who got something to say about me not coming to Boo funeral,” he said in response. “N***a, I paid for the funeral, hoe! I’m on motherf*cking tour and even if I wasn’t, I don’t do funerals. the last time I was at a funeral, it wasn’t nothing but a bunch of groupie ass motherf*cking n****s up in that motherf*cker. The Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef took some wild turns on its run up until this point, but this is starting to get to the point of parody. Moreover, you’ve probably seen some viral discussion about a particular Twitter account’s constant postings about Drizzy’s alleged items featured on the “Meet The Grahams” YouTube cover art. The sinister nature of the video of these supposed belongings, plus the messages and demands from the account, have folks comparing them to “The Riddler” from the Batman franchise.

Furthermore, the realm of social media isn’t the only battlefield in which Drake and Kendrick Lamar are in pretty direct and steep competition as far as which fanbase can make the most excuses for their victory. The charts are also contributing to this, too, as the latter recently broke some staggering Spotify records held by the former. “Not Like Us” is an absolute smash hit that even the Billboard charts might not be able to deny, although whether it will actually hit the No. 1 spot is a mystery. There are a lot of bizarre things to discuss about this whole debacle, and that was before people started comparing K.Dot to The Joker.

Fans React To Gunna’s New Album “One Of Wun,” And They’re Loving It So Far

Less than a year after Gunna’s comeback album a Gift & a Curse following a prison stint, he wasted no time in giving fans the one-two punch with his brand-new LP, One Of Wun. Moreover, with features from Offset, Normani, Roddy Ricch, and Leon Bridges across 20 songs, there’s a lot of room for bangers… as well as disappointment. However, from what the general social media reception to the project has looked like in its first hours on the market, it seems like fans are quite satisfied with this record. Of course, we’ll have to see how it ages and what more scrutinized critical reception looks like, but right now, it seems like he took a W here.

Moreover, Gunna also raised eyebrows with some particular bars here and there that many fans interpreted as subliminal shots at other rappers. For example, some bars on here relate to paying for abs and having writers, which some people think might’ve been aimed at Drake and Lil Baby. Still, that’s just speculation at the moment, just like a lot of rumors surrounding him and his rap allegiances right now. The College Park MC entered a tough situation when he made his plea deal in the YSL RICO case, although it’s been heartening to see his return.

It looks like the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef might get a lot of rappers more confrontational this year, and we have our first example of a side quest in this feud. Moreover, The Game just dropped a diss track against Rick Ross titled “Freeway’s Revenge,” and it’s a pretty scathing takedown of a lot of his qualities, character, history, and approaches. Fans were quick to react, either praising the song for its lyrical density, clowning both MCs for still trying to get attention of a much bigger battle, or criticizing the Los Angeles rapper’s approach to taking down the Maybach Music Group boss.

Furthermore, we know that The Game and Rick Ross apparently had issues before this, although we didn’t know whether the former was just defending Drake from the latter’s trolling. While there are references to Drizzy’s beef with Kendrick Lamar on “Freeway’s Revenge,” they’re mostly used for bar work and not as any continuations of that particular back-and-forth. He remains focused on his target and doesn’t hold back, calling into question his street credibility and health. The Documentary lyricist even hilariously imitates Rozay at one point and makes fun of his constant trolling.

Usher’s all-black outfit for the 2024 Met Gala on Monday night is resulting in plenty of jokes on social media. For the event, the singer went with a sparkly black suit underneath a cape and a dramatic matching leather hat. He also held a bright red rose in his hand. He spoke about the look on the red carpet with ET. “It was a matter of using my imagination,” he said before describing it as “exotic.”

In response to the outfit, many fans on social media compared it to The Phantom of the Opera. “Usher also came with a statement that says that any revival of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway should also bring back the full orchestra,” one fan on Twitter wrote. Others referenced Tuxedo Mask from the anime Sailor Moon: “Before I go to bed — I have to say this because it’s so damn funny but someone called Usher ‘Tuxedo Mask’ and a now i can’t unsee it.
