Meek Mill Voices Support For Chris Brown & Calls Out Ruffles

Meek Mill voiced his support for Chris Brown on Twitter, Sunday night, after the singer claimed the NBA uninvited him from the All-Star Celebrity Game to keep sponsors happy. In turn, Meek criticized Ruffles and told fans to support Rap Snacks.

“That’s why it’s important we support rap snacks …. I live @RapSnacksNow over ruffles black owned and taste better!!!!!!” Meek wrote. Brown explained the situation on his Instagram Story, implying that backlash to his infamous felony assault conviction for physically abusing Rihanna in 2009 caused the league to drop him from the game.

“I was asked by the NBA to play in the All-Star Game this year!” Brown revealed. “Only for them to call later and say I couldn’t do it because of their sponsors like Ruffles. At this point, I’m sick of bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f*cking past. I posted the emails so y’all could see. The NBA still was tryna get me to come and sit court side… NOT F*CKING HAPPENING.” For its part, Ruffles has released a statement denying that they protested any celebrities involvement in the game. “Ruffles sponsored last night’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, however Ruffles did not have any involvement in, nor visibility to, any player decisions or celebrity invite discussions,” the company said. NBA YoungBoy & Rap Snacks Team Up For Official Snack Collaboration

NBA YoungBoy is one of the hottest rappers in the game right now; does that mean he likes his chips spicy? Guess we’ll find out, since Rap Snacks recently announced that they welcomed YB into the food company’s family by releasing his own Rap Snack soon. While we don’t have any information on what flavor it’ll be as of writing this article, fans wasted no time in guessing. Whether it was legitimate answers like garlic or spicy nacho or more outlandish, meme-centric options like cigarette butts or gunpowder, this is clearly not your typical Rap Snack. In addition, the Black-owned brand also introduced Kodak Black to their repertoire, so we’ll see what these two MCs bring to the dinner table for a pre-meal delight.

Of course, YoungBoy usually sticks to his music rather than rack up extracurriculars, so this is an exciting move for him. What’s more is that it could be one of many routes he recently embarked on to spread his branding and image around outside of the many mixtapes and albums he releases. For example, rumors surfaced online of the Baton Rouge rapper making his own sneaker. That’s just based on a shoe he wore being engraved with “Grave Digger” on the tongue, and it’s unclear whether it’s just a custom pair or a sneak peek at an upcoming release.

Still, it’s not like the 23-year-old necessarily needs any of these partnerships to go to the next level. After all, his cult and dedicated fanbase is a steady stream of revenue, engagement, and support that many artists would probably drop hundreds of thousands for. By that same token, though, it’s a group of diehards that will most likely (and now literally) eat up anything that YoungBoy puts out, so the more they can connect with, the better. In any case, if these new Rap Snacks don’t do it for you as a fan, at least the three YB projects out this year so far keep you fed.

Meanwhile, the Richest Opp rhymer recently released a new track titled “I Need To Know.” Furthermore, it formed part of the Never Broke Again compilation project, Green Flag Activity, Vol. 2. Perhaps he prepared some other projects for us in 2023 as well. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on NBA YoungBoy.

Rappers With Signature Rap Snacks Flavors

Rap Snacks was formed by James Lindsay, a self-proclaimed “snack food connoisseur” who wanted to mix his love for food and Hip-Hop culture. With the help of family and friends, Lindsay began with the company with $40,000, and after meeting with distributors, he sold 800 cases of Rap Snacks within two hours. Rap Snacks laid low for many years due to issues with producers and the size of its bags. However, Complex reports in 2007, Romeo Miller purchased Rap Snacks from Lindsay, and the brand has grown significantly within the past few years into a $30 million business. Let’s take a look at rappers who have been featured with their own Rap Snacks flavor. This isn’t a comprehensive list, but here are a few noteworthy names.

Migos & Lil Durk

The Atlanta rap group, Migos, has four Rap Snacks flavors. All of their flavors include “a dab of ranch” in reference to the dance move popularized by the Migos in their song “Look at my Dab.” The Migos Rap Snacks flavors include “Bar-B-Quin’ with My Honey with a Dab of Ranch” chips, “Sour Cream with a Dab of Ranch” chips, “White Cheddar with a Dab of Ranch” popcorn, and “White Cheddar with a Dab of Ranch” cheese puffs. Lil Durk currently has four Rap Snacks flavors. They include “Durkio’s Hot Puffin Fries,” “Durkio’s Flames Hot Crunchables,” “Durkio’s Hot Puffin Fries with Ranch,” and “Buttermilk Ranch Oowee Wavy” chips.

Lil Baby

Lil Baby has six Rap Snacks flavors of his own. Many of Lil Baby’s flavors include various tastes from separate chips, described as “All In.” The flavors include “All In Nocho Nachos” which includes salt and vinegar, BBQ, onion, garlic, and nacho cheese flavors; “All In Cheese Popcorn,” which has salt and vinegar, BBQ, onion, garlic, and cayenne pepper flavors; “Bar-B-Quin’ with my Honey Heat” chips; “All In Potato Chips” which includes salt and vinegar, BBQ, onion, and garlic flavors; “Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream” chips; and “All In Hot Potato Chips” which includes salt and vinegar, BBQ, onion, garlic, and cayenne pepper flavors. Lil Baby is also the face of the Rap Snacks line of Oowee lemonade drinks.

Moneybagg Yo, Nicki Minaj, & Rick Ross

Moneybagg Yo boasts four Rap Snacks flavors. All of Moneybagg Yo’s snacks are of the hot variety. They include “Heat vs. Hot” gourmet popcorn, “Heat vs. Hot” potato chips, “Dill Pickle Jalapeno” potato chips, and “Hot Rings.” Nicki Minaj’s flavors are truffle style in reference to her hit song featuring Lil Wayne and Drake, “Truffle Butter.” They include “Sour Cream and Ranch Truffle” potato chips, “Bar-B-Quin’ with my Honey” truffle potato chips, and “Salt and Vinegar Truffle” potato chips. Meanwhile, Rick Ross has three flavors, as well. Rap Snacks proves another food-related business venture for The Boss as he also owns many WingStop and Cheddar’s locations. Ross’ Rap Snacks flavors include “Sweet Chili Lemon Pepper” gourmet popcorn, “Rozay Cheddar Oowee Wavy” potato chips, and “Sweet Chili Lemon Pepper” potato chips.

Romeo Miller

As aforementioned, Romeo Miller, the son of Hip-Hop legend Master P, reportedly purchased the company in 2007. Miller has had various disputes with his father about Rap Snacks, as he stated that Master P withheld the money he made with the company for fifteen years. In 2020, Miller said he had finally been paid his money for his earnings and endorsements. He was one of the first rappers featured on Rap Snacks’ bags, and his signature flavor is “Bar-B-Quin’ with my Honey” potato chips.

Discontinued Flavors

Both Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty and New Jersey artist Fetty Wap once had Rap Snacks items which have since been discontinued. It is uncertain why their flavors have been canceled, yet both rappers can say their face was on a Rap Snacks bag. Lil Yachty’s and Fetty Wap’s Rap Snacks can be found online on other sites. Each rapper had only one signature flavor made. Yachty’s was called “Oowee Hot Cheese Fries,” while Fetty had “Honey Jalapeno.”

Rap Snacks Icons

Rap Snacks also has a series of flavors for “icons” of Hip-Hop. Snoop Dogg is a legendary hip-hop artist with Rap Snacks Icon flavors. These include “Cheddar BBQ Nocho Nachos,” “O.G. Bar-B-Que Cheddar Puffs,” and “O.G. Bar-B-Que Cheddar” potato chips. The late legendary New York Hip-Hop artist Notorious B.I.G. also has one, as well. Biggie’s signature flavor is “Honey Jalapeno” potato chips. Master P has “Bar-B-Quin’ with my Honey” cheese puffs and “Honey BBQ Oowee Wavy” potato chips. Additionally, P also has a “Creamy Chicken Gumbo” ramen noodle flavor. Boosie Badazz also has two ‘Icon’ chip flavors. His signatures are “Louisiana Heat Wavy” chips and “Louisiana Heat” cheese puffs. Boosie also has a “Louisiana Heat Hot & Spicy Chicken” ramen flavor. E-40, too, has his own Rap Snacks ramen flavor: “Beef Prime Rib.”

Jim Jones Struggles With Lil Baby’s Hot Chips: “These Sh*ts Is Hot As Firecrackers”

Jim Jones struggled to eat Lil Baby’s “All In” Hot Potato Chips flavor during a recent interview on DJ Self’s Apt. 5H series. After diving into the spicy potato chips, the Harlem native quickly began sweating and removing layers of clothing. From there, he jokingly compared himself to Pookie from New Jack City.

“I feel like Pookie right now. This shit got a n***a sweating bad you heard,” he said on the show. “Fuck this shit, I’m too hot. These shits is hot as hell! These shits is hot as firecrackers. Shit got me sweating and all types of shit.” The chip boasts salt and vinegar, barbecue seasoning, onion, garlic, cayenne pepper, and more for its ingredients. There is also a regular version of the “All In” chip as well as a “Bar-B-Quin With My Honey Heat” flavor.

Hitmaka, who was also present for the interview, shared the footage on Instagram, Monday. “This is the funniest shit ever!” he captioned the clip. “@qcmceo_p @lilbaby This man capo had them chips y’all cooked up and shit went left. I don’t do spicy so I kindly said ‘No Thank You’ but my dawg took it there You like spicy food? Comment and tell me ya shit maybe I’ll try ‘Back In My Prime’ OUT NOW @jimjonescapo.”

While he may not have any praise for Lil Baby’s chips, Jones did recently make headlines for his praise of another rapper. Speaking with Complex, last week, Jones crowned Drake the “greatest of all time.” “I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” Jim told the outlet. “I would just give that to him. And I mean, there’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented Hip Hop, I know. But the greatest of all time, it’s a big statement, and the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.”

Romeo Miller Reignites Feud With Master P

Romeo Miller continued to call out his father, Master P, on social media, Monday following the legendary rapper’s attempt to apologize to him. Romeo took his dispute with his father public after complaining about Master P neglecting the late, Tytyana Miller.

The two traded shots in multiple posts on social media during the weekend. Despite Master P apologizing on Sunday, Romeo continued to go at him on Monday. Now, Romeo says that he was never paid for Rap Snacks.

“This year I will get my first Rap Snacks check and finally start receiving my earnings from my bags,” Romeo wrote. He added that he worked at the company for free for 15 years on the assumption his “payday would come.”

“I stayed loyal… but I’m entitled and ungrateful now?” Romeo wrote.

From there, he accused his father of trying to “gaslight and break me.” He also said Master P refused to take “accountability of his mistakes/greed.”

“He’s an adult and has to do the honest work as well. Like I told him, I have to love from a distance until then. I have a family now too, and it’s critical 1 protect my peace. No more suffering in silence. The rise of the Phoenix,” Romeo concluded.

Master P has yet to respond to the newest post from Romeo. In his initial apology, he admitted to being a “work-in-progress” before saying that he’s dealing with “trauma.”

Tytyana Miller died of accidental fentanyl intoxication back in May, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Rap Snacks Is Being Sued Over Its Nicki Minaj-Themed ‘Barbie-Cue’ Flavor

Rap’s always had a minor obsession with brands and brand names, which at the best of times gives it a deeper connection with pop culture. On the other hand, by tapping into cultural touchstones, rap has occasionally run afoul of the civil side of the law. From rappers being forced to change their names (Remy Ma, who once went by the more recognizable Remy Martin, which also sued 50 Cent over his competing cognac) to copyright infringement suits (Tyga and Lil Nas X were both recently sued over sneaker collaborations), rap’s propensity for name-checking has gotten more than one artist into trouble.

Now, the brands that associate with rappers are feeling those effects too. According to Reuters, the Rap Snacks potato chip brand is being sued by toy manufacturer Mattel over its new Nicki Minaj-themed flavor. Spinning the flavor’s name off from Nicki’s self-derived Barbie nickname, Barbie-Que” Honey Truffle — and its logo, which borrows the original logo of Mattel’s long-running, beloved doll line — Rap Snacks has drawn the ire of Mattel’s legal department, which filed suit last week, alleging unfair competition and false designation of origin, trademark dilution, and unfair competition violation.

Mattel argues that the logo’s use creates customer confusion and false association with the actual Barbie brand. The logo’s use wasn’t authorized and Rap Snacks “purposely” misled customers, allegedly refusing to “correct the misimpression it foisted on the public.” Nicki Minaj, who has long used the Barbie terminology and aesthetic, even calling her fans “Barbz” and herself “Harajuku Barbie” (oof), is said to have deferred to Mattel, obtaining at least tacit permission to continue using the moniker, even having her own doll made in 2011.

Mattel not only wants Rap Snacks to discontinue its “Barbie-Que” flavor but also wants it to cancel its trademarks for Barbie-Que and hand over all of the profits made from its sales. Rap Snacks, which also has flavors based on Cardi B, Lil Durk, Migos, and Moneybagg Yo, has not made a public statement as of press time.

Rick Ross Teams Up With Rap Snacks’ CEO And Founder For Their New Company ‘Hip Hemp’

Rick Ross has a new business venture. The rapper recently teamed up with Rap Snacks’ CEO and Founder James Lindsay as well as the San Diego-based hemp manufacturing company Hempacco to create a new company that will deliver a line of smokeable products, which includes cannabinoid cigarettes and hemp blunt rolling papers. The company is called Hemp Hop Smokeables LLC and it seeks to use Hempacco to introduce something new to the smoking industry.

In a press statement, Ross said that his past health issues pushed him to help create safer and more beneficial products. “Having had my own health scares, and through my healing process, I decided I would develop a line of smokables to help others with the benefits of Hemp cannabinoids,” he wrote in the statement.

This news comes after Ross bought his son a Wingstop franchise for his sixteenth birthday. Prior to that, he appeared alongside Lil Wayne on Drake’s “You Only Live Twice” from Certified Lover Boy. He also recently signed Boston rapper Smoke Bulga to his label Maybach Music Group.

Hemp Hop is currently holding a giveaway for Ross fans who register on their website, where more information about the product can be found.

Lil Baby Is The Face Of Rap Snacks’ New Beverage Line, Oowee Lemonade

Since they first launched in 1994, Rap Snacks have been giving nods to today’s biggest hip-hop artists on their chip bags. Rappers like Rick Ross, Cardi B, Migos, and Lil Yachty have their own flavors, but now, Rap Snacks is expanding their enterprise. For a new line of beverages, Rap Snacks tapped Lil Baby to be the face of their product.

Rap Snacks unveiled their line of Lil Baby Oowee Lemonade products Monday. The drink comes in five flavors: Fruit Punch, Strawberry Watermelon, Mango Pineapple, Blueberry, and Sweet Tea. Along with featuring Lil Baby on the wrapper, a portion of the proceeds from Oowee Lemonade will be donated to the organizations Atlanta Children’s Center and Covenant House in Atlanta.

About his endeavor, Lil Baby called the Rap Snacks partnership “life-changing.” “I know my fans are going to love this line of Oowee Lemonades,” he said. “Rap Snacks are about hip-hop culture, I’m about the culture, and I’m excited that proceeds from every purchase are a ‘give back’ to help our communities. It’s exciting to be a part of something that will lift people from my hometown and nationally through the BossUp Foundation. It’s life-changing—I’ve never been a part of anything like this before.”

Echoing the rapper’s statement, CEO of Rap Snacks James Lindsay said: “We’re so excited to make this announcement after Lil Baby’s show stopping appearance at the Grammys. This extension of his partnership with us will connect with his growing fanbase the world over. We are the only company to feature hip-hop icons in association with our products. Our lemonade is a great-tasting product. We’ve combined flavors that haven’t been done before, and we’re expanding our market.”
