Akademiks Tempts Fate, Calls Erykah Badu “Ran Through”: Watch

Akademiks’ name is running wild through the news cycle today (August 9) for a multitude of reasons. There’s the confirmation that Tory Lanez leaked information about his shooting trial with Megan Thee Stallion from a judge at sentencing yesterday. We’ve also seen his hateful comments about a number of women in the music industry. To the “Cash S**t” hitmaker, Ak urged her to hit him with a lawsuit. Elsewhere, he’s been throwing shade at Erykah Badu. Of course, she’s been known to cause her haters a great deal of karmic retribution in the past.

While streaming on Rumble, the Off the Record host came across a comment encouraging “The Healer” to “work [her] magic” on Akademiks after news of the Lanez leak went public. As HipHopDX notes, the embattled media personality was obviously triggered by the discourse. He quickly turned his attention to finding flaws in Badu. “I never f**ked with Erykah Badu after she was tryna come on my show and be funny,” Ak ranted after reminding us of the time she compared him to a Tom & Jerry character in 2017.

Donald Trump Rants About Judge Who Denied Extension Request: “NO WAY!!!”

Donald Trump recently hopped on Truth Social, going on a strongly worded rant about Jack Smith and Judge Tanya S. Chutkan. The former president appeared in court for his third indictment recently, and Special Counsel Smith requested that a protective order be issued. The protective order is supposed to limit what Trump and his team can say publicly about the case. Chutkan then ordered Trump’s team to respond by Monday (August 7), and to pitch any amendments. Trump’s team later asked for an extension, which the judge denied. Based on his recent posts, Trump doesn’t appear too happy about it.

“THERE IS NO WAY I CAN GET A FAIR TRIAL WITH THE JUDGE ‘ASSIGNED’ TO THE RIDICULOUS FREEDOM OF SPEECH/FAIR ELECTIONS CASE,” Trump wrote. ”EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS, AND SO DOES SHE! WE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ASKING FOR RECUSAL OF THIS JUDGE ON VERY POWERFUL GROUNDS, AND LIKEWISE FOR VENUE CHANGE, OUT IF [sic] D.C.”

He continued in another post, “DERANGED JACK SMITH AND OUR HIGHLY PARTISAN, AND VERY CORRUPT, DEPARTMENT OF INJUSTICE, COULD HAVE BROUGHT THIS BIDIN ‘OPPONENT’ CASE YEARS AGO, BUT CHOSE TO WAIT AND BRING IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ELECTION CAMPAIGN. NO WAY!!!” “I HOPE YOU ARE WATCHING AMERICA,” he also wrote. “OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Chutkan’s been met with a ton of backlash from Trump’s supporters in recent days, which is to be expected. She’s previously given out sentences to rioters from the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol attack, and was appointed by Barack Obama. With that being said, Trump’s new rant serves as a great example as to why the protective order was requested. In other Trump news, he also recently claimed he’d fire IRS agents hired by President Joe Biden if elected. “I will say ‘no’ to 87,000 IRS agents who want to take your money and destroy your lives,” he told a crowd.

Asian Doll Claps Back At Haters Commenting On Summer Walker’s Body

Asian Doll recently took to Twitter, going on a rant about haters posting negative comments about Summer Walker’s body. She claimed that disses about changes to the singer’s body are low-blows, noting that she’s “always been a baddie.” “Depression #1 side effect is weight loss,” she wrote on Twitter, “Seeing a woman not physically look like herself can be the reason.” Her post continued, Summer is bad always been a baddie so y’all hoes kicking her while she down is some low sh*t idc y’all b*tches fake & love seeing successful women down bad.”

She also added, “b*tches be swallowing pills to get thick but worried about summer walker body when they body pumped up with pills off Alibaba.com for weight gain.” Shortly after her posts, Asian Doll began to receive some criticism herself for previously selling weight-gain pills. Some social media users thought it was hypocritical for her to chime in, while she herself promoted supplements to assist weight gain. The rapper clapped back, however, claiming she simply sold them “to be funny.” “Hoes was trolling my weight,” she added, “I made 50K plus off that sh*t.”

Asian Doll Says Commenting On Walker’s Body Is “Some Low Sh*t”

Walker’s been making headlines lately for her recent breakup with Lil Meech. Her subsequent social media posts have revealed that the catalyst for their split was cheating, on Lil Meech’s part. The news didn’t come as too much of a surprise to those following their relationship. Though they were only an item for a few months, they were constantly involved in scandals, most of which involved Lil Meech’s infidelity.

Walker made it clear that she doesn’t want any part of the cheating, claiming she “tried [her] best to be Jayda Wayda but [she] couldn’t.” She appears to be doing well despite the breakup, however. Keke Palmer Shares Concerns About The Government: “Nothing Is Safe”

Keke Palmer recently hopped on social media to weigh in on the current state of America. Palmer expressed her distrust for the United States’ government, claiming that the way things are being run just “isn’t working.” “As a millennial l I’ve had enough,” she captioned the clip.

“It just gets to a point where we just don’t even have trust in the government anymore,” Palmer expresses in the clip. She continues, “People want us to be involved and want us to be engaged and we’d like to, but […] it’s hard to be involved and engaged when there’s so much distrust.” She then goes on to share her disappointment over some recent decisions made by the government. “How are y’all overturning Roe v. Wade?,” she asks, “How are y’all overturning Affirmative Action?” At this point, are we about to be segregated again?,” Palmer wonders.

Keke Palmer Says She’s “Had Enough”

Recently Palmer also claimed she had been discriminated against at an airport. “Breast milk discrimination at the Houston airport ruined my mood,” she wrote on Twitter. “I should’ve popped my tit out right then,” she continued, “because the discretion and comfort of pumping is thwarted with threats to throw out over 16oz my babies food?!?!!! Why is that not a crime?? I’M A MOTHER for crying out loud.” Earlier this year, Palmer had her son with Darius Jackson, Leodis.

In May, Palmer dropped her new album, Big Boss. The LP is also accompanied by a film, which is over 40 minutes long. Just after the release, she did an interview with PEOPLE where she discussed sexism in the music industry. “We know bad things happen in all of them, but it’s almost like the acting world represents a union and the music industry represents non-union,” she explained. Palmer went on to say, “With music, it’s like everybody is being paid, and everybody’s a crooked cop. So, it seems like nothing will ever really come to a head.”

Chris Brown Posts Rant About “Fake Agenda Driving” Artists

It’s been a busy month and a half or so for controversial musician Chris Brown. In early May, news broke that Brown and his entourage had beaten up Usher after the pair had a shouting match at Brown’s birthday party. Reportedly, Usher had been defending Teyana Taylor after Brown got verbally aggressive with her. While Brown still played at the subsequent Lovers & Friends festival, he reportedly got into another verbal altercation backstage.

More recently, it was reported that Brown could face arrest if he enters the United Kingdom. The rapper reportedly assaulted a producer in February while on tour and left the country without meeting with police. This led to British police stating that Brown could be arrested if he returns to the country. Now, Brown is getting pseudo-philosophical on Instagram.

Asian Doll Goes Off On Znuie For Posting Her With Lil Jamez

Asian Doll recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts amid Znuie posting photos and a clip of her and Lil Jamez. Znuie had been in a turbulent relationship with Lil Jamez since 2018. Recently, she shared a series of photos and clips of him alongside other women he allegedly cheated on her with. She shared a clip of Asian Doll and Lil Jamez kissing, also calling Asian “tooth body.” Amid the accusations, Asian Doll made it clear that she was never interested in Lil Jamez romantically. She claims he was only a “fan.” She also went on to say in the 8-minute video that she doesn’t like “n****s who are short, black, and ugly.” 

Asian Doll tore into Znuie, telling her that instead of bringing drama to the internet, she should “go be a mother.” She continued to drag the influencer, also calling Lil Jamez an “eater” and claiming that he was interested in her, not the other way around.

Asian Doll Bashes Znuie And Lil Jamez

Znuie also received some backlash from users who thought she was in the wrong for putting the women on blast instead of Lil Jamez. She defended herself, saying, “Oh nah, I came at EVERYBODY cause a mf won’t leave me alone.” She also says she, “Told his a** to stop worrying about me and worry about his shorties that all knew about me when we WERE together. I came for everybody he wasn’t left out! Believe dat.”

“If you not about to link up, shut up about the n****! We in Texas b*** we whoop h***,” Asian Doll also said in her rant. “We whoop b**** that wanna fight or get into over the internet behind a n****! YK Osiris Slams “Trash Ass Music,” Believes He’s The Only One Dropping Quality Content

YK Osiris has yet to share new music in 2023, but still, the young singer insists that his past releases are better than the “trash ass” songs landing on DSPs today. He ranted about this on his Instagram Story over the weekend, agreeing with Coi Leray’s recent sentiment that “anything [is] a hit.” To be fair, the artists aren’t exactly wrong, seeing as modern technology has made being a part of the industry easier than ever before. Aside from anyone being able to release their own music, another major complaint lately has been about artificial intelligence generating fake songs or covers, many of which spark massive debates online.

In another post on his Story, Osiris continued to rant, “It’s scary out here lol… And y’all allow it to happen lol 😂. Man y’all sick lol, real music my ass lol.” When directly addressing the camera, the 24-year-old added, “One thing y’all cannot say, is that Osiris music is trash.” He continued, “You can say whatever you wanna say… But I guarantee you, ask your mama, ask your little sister. Osiris is not trash ass music n*gga!”

YK Osiris is Feeling Himself

“Imma show y’all n*ggas. Kwame Brown Calls LeBron A “Stat Sheet Stuffer”

The Lakers were swept out of the NBA playoffs earlier this week as the Denver Nuggets reached their first-ever NBA Finals. The loss hit Lakers star LeBron James especially hard, with the twenty-year veteran admitting that he would be at least contemplating retirement this offseason.

However, LeBron has caught some heat for his playoff performances this year. This included 19 consecutive missed threes attempted in the fourth quarter of games. Furthermore, LeBron had a number of opportunities to send Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals to overtime. However, he failed to break past a stifling Nuggets defensive effort. This has led to some fierce criticism from some unusual sources.

Kwame Brown Blasts LeBron

A video of retired NBA player Kwame Brown blasting LeBron has gone viral. “I have never seen a guy of your caliber, supposed caliber, you don’t even get a shot off?” Brown says at one point in his seven-minute rant. “You’re probably the best scorer in the game, you got all these points. But you were looking for a bailout, again.” At another point in the video, Brown argues that “Throughout history, the little nerds are gonna look up your statline and say ‘He’s gotta be the greatest player to ever play the game’. And people who actually play are gonna know that is bullshit.”

It’s a weird claim to make in general. One muted playoffs at age 38 does not invalidate an entire career. However, what makes it weirder is who is saying it. While Kwame Brown is known for being outspoken, he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on in this fight. Drafted first overall by the Wizards in 2001, Brown averaged 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over a 12-year career. Other players drafted after Brown in the 2001 draft include Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker. By comparison, LeBron averaged 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists over the first 12 years of his career. Brown also made the playoffs a total of four times in his NBA career, putting up 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds across 18 appearances. So, while he is entitled to his opinion, Brown might want to sit this one out.

Bhad Bhabie Rants About Chief Keef On Twitter

Bhad Bhabie has taken to Twitter to rant about something once again. This time, it’s about her relationship with her former beau Chief Keef. Back in February, Bhabie took to Twitter to express her love for Chief Keef. Some of her tweets about him remain on her page. She asked fans to tell Keef that she is sorry and loves him, adding a teary-eyed emoji. She also said that he hates her, but it’s okay because she will be back, and added a kissing emoji. However, some outlets reported that she had also tweeted that Chief Keef is the only person she will ever love.

Just last week, Bhad Bhabie spoke further about the relationship. In an interview with Emily Ratajkowski, she confessed that she has five or six tattoos dedicated to Keef. “I have one guy that managed to make it six times, five or six,” she said. The guy she is referring to is, of course, Chief Keef. “So, I have Chief Keef’s birthday, his last name, his name, his nickname, and I have ‘CK’ on my ankle, then I have his last name right here,” Bhabie revealed. “Actually, I just covered his birthday, and then I have ‘So’ on my ear, and then I have ‘Keef’ on my wrist.”

Bhad Bhabie Has Had Enough

Bhad Bhabie and Chief Keef may not be together anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to let people slander his name. In response to many pointing out that they thought that Keef “groomed” her and was a pedophile, she took to Twitter to dispel the rumors. “Calling someone a pedophile isn’t something you just say to troll or talk sh*t. It’s disrespectful [as f*ck],” she said in his defense. “I can’t stand the [motherf*cker] but I’m not the type of person to let someone’s name [be] ruined with lies. Dead that sh*t.”

In an Instagram post about the rant by The Shade Room, many people seemed to disagree with Bhabie’s assessment of the situation. “20 is the new 16 baby,” said one commenter. “You was fresh outta high school he could have had his master’s in 2 different fields.” Others chimed in to agree. “Girl you was definitely under 18 [f*cking with] sosa like bye,” said another comment. GloRilla Blasts Haters In New Tweet

GloRilla might be relatively new to the scene, but that doesn’t mean she’s taking hate lightly. The “Tomorrow 2” rapper tweeted to let people know that isn’t playing when it comes to her haters. In the tweet, GloRilla told critics not to let her know they don’t like her. If they do, she says she will do everything she can to leave them bothered. “I never gave a single f*ck about a ho/n***a not liking me,” she tweeted. “A mf better not lemme find out Dey don’t like me cause now im finna work yo nerves & do everything in my power to make you hate me ho.”

GloRilla was recently in the headlines because of a stampede at her concert that led to three deaths. The incident took place in February at a joint concert between GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes. According to reports, audience members heard a gunshot. This caused the concertgoers to rush for the exit, resulting in a stampede. Directly after the incident, one person was already confirmed dead and two others were in critical condition. Sadly, both of those victims have now passed. After the second death, GloRilla posted her condolences on Twitter. “I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show. My fans mean the world to me,” the rapper said. Unfortunately for GloRilla one of the victim’s families is now planning to sue.

GloRilla’s Star Continues To Rise

GloRilla is pretty new to the industry, but her rise has been quick and notable. She first gained popularity with her mixtape Most Likely Up Next in 2019 and EP P Status in 2020. Then, her song “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” went viral, leading to a TikTok challenge and a remix. The remix featured fellow up-and-coming rapper, Latto. Shortly after, she signed with Yo Gotti’s record label in July of that year. In September 2022, GloRilla released “Tomorrow 2” featuring Cardi B. Then, GloRilla dropped her EP Anyways, Life’s Great… and was featured on Latto’s single “FTCU” with rapper Gangsta Boo in December 2022. In January 2023, the rapper collaborated with labelmate Moneybagg Yo on the single “On Wat U On”.

GloRilla is one of many stars who found fame from having a viral social media hit. Unfortunately, that often means that you won’t be respected the same way that stars with a “normal” come up. Rappers who get famous from TikTok vitality are usually the butt of the joke. Still, that doesn’t mean GloRilla is going to sit and take it, which she makes very clear in her tweet.
