R. Kelly’s Team Says His Master Recordings Were Stolen, Might Be Linked To “I Admit It”

R Kelly currently sits behind bars for sex crimes, which made it extremely odd to see a new album of his pop up on streaming sites on Friday. An album titled, I Admit It appeared on his Spotify, Apple Music, and TIDAL pages, including unreleased records. His team denied that it was a real release while Sony Music said they were investigating how this dropped on a subsidiary label. However, it seems like his team may have come up with a theory behind the unauthorized release.

According to TMZ, R. Kelly’s team found a theory that could explain the release of I Admit It. Police revealed a man named Keith Calbert called them to report a robbery at Kelly’s warehouse. Calbert oversees R Kelly’s property, and the warehouse storing the master recordings. But in February, Calbert called the police and reported a theft regarding hundreds of missing recordings.

Authorities explained that Calbert informed them of two roadies removing the masters from the warehouse and bringing them to California nine months earlier. Calbert informed the roadies of returning the masters. However, they told him that it costs $160K for them to return these records.

Calbert said he told the roadies to return the masters but ultimately, they placed a $160K price tag to bring them back Despite warning the roadies that the recordings must be returned, the roadies said that needed $160K.

Police revealed that Calbert showed them 10 shelves that were once full and now, completely emptied. Apparently, there are between 300 to 500 recordings that have gone missing.

Kelly’s team reported the stolen property but there’s no reason as to why it took so long. In the meantime, police said that the case is closed since the investigation led to no arrests.

There are still many questions surrounding the release of last week’s I Admit It. His team believe that the two roadies likely have something to do with it.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on any more updates surrounding R. Kelly’s stolen masters.

Boosie Calls R. Kelly “The Best Ever To Do It” Following The Convicted Singer’s Surprise Album

Boosie Badazz Says NBA Youngboy Shouldn't Have Collaborated with Lil Nas X: "We Represent a Certain Group"

Boosie is known for his controversial takes on many subjects, most notably his remarks about Dwyane Wade’s daughter Zaya Wade. However, his recent co-sign of R. Kelly’s surprise album I Admit It might take the cake.

Over the weekend, a surprise album from R. Kelly was released on DSP’s. While many slammed Kelly for releasing the album, Boosie showed love to Kelly, and posted a video of himself vibing to the album.

“R.Kelly TALKING DAT SHIll. THE BEST TO EVER DO IT. YOU BETTER GO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM. NUMBER 1 FAN -BOOSIE BADAZZ,” Boosie captioned a video of himself listening to the allbum.

In another video, Boosie called the convicted R&B singer “THE GREATEST” and said that he’s innocent. “THIS MF R.KELLY IS THE GREATEST. IM LIT TODAY‼ #FreeRKellyAsap.”

However, this is not the first time that Boosie has advocated for R. Kelly, or the singer’s release. In a previous interview on VladTV, Boosie argued that Kelly is innovent.

“This is how I feel about that. Everything was pushed to another level. You know, I just feel like R. Kelly like the young bitches,” Boosie said.

He continued: “All that shit, seducing and kidnapping and all this shit in somebody house, if you leave a bitch at the house and you go on tour for two weeks and she don’t go nowhere, that bitch ain’t been kidnapped. She waiting on daddy to come home.”

“He just fucked up on the age part…if he did it. I’m not saying he’s guilty or if he did do it, it’s because of the age. The rest of that shit, they exaggerating, bro.”

Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, recently stated that her client had nothing to do with the album’s release, saying that “music of Mr. Kelly’s that is in the hands of people who should not have it.”

R. Kelly and his attorney Jennifer Bonjean met, and the singer says he has nothing to do with the release, especially while fighting his conviction. Kelly also says that he isn’t the singer in the recordings. “I hope people recognized my voice and know that,” Kelly added.

The album was released on all streaming platforms, but now Apple Music, Spotify, and TIDAL have removed the album. Sony Music has also denied working on the album.

The legal team is now attempting to track down who is responsible for the album. The Federal Bureau of Prisons also states the singer did not create songs in prison.

R. Kelly Releases ‘I Admit It’ Album While Locked Up For Federal Sex Crimes

One of the biggest albums of the year was just released as disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly and the content of the album leans towards a lot of the allegations that Kelly is currently fighting in federal court.

The 13-track album isn’t even an official album, but with its seductive title, I Admit It, many of his fans and critics want to hear about Kelly’s dark past as well as investigate to see if there are any more clues as to whether or not he’s guilty of the crimes he’s currently on trial for.

There is a three-part series on the album called “I Admit it (I Did It)”, which hit SoundCloud four years ago, but just made its way to Apple Music and Spotify this time around. R. Kelly confronts the allegations head on as the tracks play, saying, “They’re brainwashed, really? Kidnapped, really? Can’t eat, really? Real talk, that s*** sound silly.”

Kelly even goes as far as saying one of the parents of his alleged victims introduced them, singing, “And if you really, really wanna know. Her father dropped her off at my show. And told this boy to put her on the stage. I admit that she was overage.”

An update has now reported that Spotify and Apple Music have both pulled the album from their platforms, with Spotify reinforcing their 2018 prohibition of Kelly’s music when the sex cult allegations originally surfaced.

A New R. Kelly Album Appeared On DSPs, But It Wasn’t Uploaded By Him Or His Label

Surprise album releases have become pretty commonplace in the streaming era, but music fans were still baffled — and somewhat appalled — to see a new album from incarcerated R&B star R. Kelly on their streaming apps this morning. Furthermore, its title, I Admit It, raised more than a few eyebrows, considering he was convicted of both sex trafficking in New York and child porn in Chicago. So, how did a new R. Kelly album end up on streaming?

Billboard did a little digging and discovered that, although the credits appear to cite Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings as the responsible party, the label said that it was not involved at all. Sources at Legacy were conducting their own investigation with Apple, Spotify, and the rest of the streamers to figure out how the album was delivered.

Apparently, the actual upload seems to have come from Ingrooves, a distributor under the Universal Music Group umbrella. Ingrooves says that is “severing a relationship” with a label called Real Talk Entertainment, which released the album under a supposed subsidiary called Legacy Recordings — i.e. the same name as Sony’s imprint. This seems like a little sneaky maneuvering on behalf of whoever actually uploaded the album to make it seem like a legit release.

Sony, which dropped R. Kelly after the Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly spurred the #MuteRKelly movement, still owns his Zomba/Jive and RCA catalog of early recordings. Meanwhile, R. Kelly’s reps told Variety today that I Admit It, named for Kelly’s 20-minute 2018 track in which he admits to very little, was not uploaded by him. It looks like this might be another case of rogue fans or scammers uploading a fake album and trying to profit from the resulting publicity. Since the album has been removed from DSPs, it doesn’t look like a winning strategy at all.

R. Kelly New Album “I Admit It” Quietly Appears On DSPs But Sony Rep Confirms It’s A Bootleg

A judge locked R Kelly up for the indefinite future but a new album appeared this morning on his streaming pages. Following a jury’s decision to convict him of federal sex crimes, an album titled, I Admit It appeared on his streaming pages. The project contains no features 13 songs in total with no features.

Though many believed this is an official release from R Kelly’s catalog, a rep for Sony Music said it was a bootleg. In a statement to Variety, a rep for Kelly said that it’s an unofficial album.

Sony currently owns the rights to Kelly’s catalog. While the copyright line says the project dropped under Sony Music’s division Legacy Records, the rep said that I Admit It is not an official release.

The album features titles like “Freaky Sensation” and “The Last Man Standing.” Some of the songs on the album surfaced online over the past few years. Many of the songs appeared online before the fake album popped up. In the case of some of the records, they also appear to come out of his vault.

The project closes out with “I Admit It,” a three-part record dissecting the allegations against him. “I Admit It” dropped on Soundcloud in 2018 as a 19-minute effort but this marks the first time it became available on DSPs.

Kelly initially dropped the song in 2018 on Soundcloud. However, it appears online as a three-part record that concludes I Admit It. This marks the first time the song became available on streaming services like Apple and Spotify.

The song directly responds to the allegations made against R. Kelly over the years. He admits he “done fucked with a couple of fans,” adding that people’s outrage spawned from the fact that he has “some girlfriends.” Additionally, he sparks on rumors that he kidnapped women, singing, “They’re brainwashed, really? Kidnapped, really? Can’t eat, really? Real talk, that s*** sound silly.”

R. Kelly is currently behind bars after he was convicted of federal sex crimes. In September, a jury found him guilty of six out of thirteen charges in his child pornography case in Chicago. The court convicted R. Kelly of three counts of child pornography, and three counts of enticing minors for sex. These charges are related to his infamous acquittal in 2008.
