Ukraine Defense Ministry Quotes Pusha-T In Tweet, Push Responds

Pusha-T Claims 'They Won't Publish' a Children's Book He's Been Trying To Write For Years

Pusha-T has had a hell of a year. From dropping one of the best albums of the year, to doing an Arby’s and NFL commercial, and getting a cosign from Tom Brady. Now it looks like the Virginia Beach MC can add another cosign to his list, from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

Earlier today, Ukraine’s defense ministry shared an infographic in a tweet, updating followers on the amount of Russian casualties since the invasion that began in February of this year. While the numbers of casualties seem high, what really got people’s attention was the Pusha-T lyric that was featured in the tweet.

“‘I put numbers on the boards’ @PUSHA_T” the tweet said. “Total combat losses of the enemy from Feb 24 to Sep 7:.”

Many Push fans reacted to the tweet, with many sharing their confusion over the Ukraine using a Pusha-T line.

Pusha even, somewhat unenthusiastically, responded to Ukraine’s tweet, saying “Great taste in music for the win…”

Pusha T & Lil Wayne Star In New NFL Kickoff Teaser

pusha t lil wayne

As the NFL gears up for the start of the 2022-2023 season, a new teaser for the upcoming season was released today, August 25. The teaser features cameos from multiple celebrities, but its the unlikely team up between Pusha T and Lil Wayne that have really caught people’s attention.

The teaser shows the two in a gymnasium full of NFL fans. Weezy is hyping the crowd up while wearing a Aaron Rodgers jersey and Push is wearing a Tom Brady Buccaneers jersey while “Still D.R.E.” plays in the background.

Among the other celebrities in the teaser include Saweetie, Young Dylan, TikTok/ YouTube star Frankie LaPenna, Buffalo Bills “Mafia” superfan Pinto Ron, pro boxer Ryan Garcia, the Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf, the Los Angeles Chargers’ Derwin James and the New Orleans Saints’ Cam Jordan.

It is unknown whether or not Push and Weezy set aside their beef to do the commercial, but their involvement in it is surprising to say the least. Their beef goes all the way back to the early 2000s when it was alleged that Birdman did not pay The Neptunes for their beats. The beef would later evolve with Push dropping the scathing diss “Exodus 23:1,” where he took shots at Wayne, Birdman, and Drake.

He would eventually diss Wayne and Drake again on “Infrared” where he called Wayne a “flash without the fire” and a “multi platinum rapper trapped and can’t retire.” He also called Drake out for his ghostwriting allegations made by Meek in 2015. After Drake responded with “Duppy Freestyle” but it was no match for Push’s response “The Story Of Adidon” where Push revealed that Drake was hiding a son.

Lil Wayne even spoke on his beef with Push in his Drink Champs interview with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. Weezy said that he was kind of blindsided by the beef with Push.

“I swear to God I don’t, man,” Weezy said when asked if he knew what started the beef. “I just found out … it was one of those things … you ever see when an athlete gets traded and he don’t know it and he gets traded during a press conference? [Wayne’s friend] was like, ‘What you gonna do? You gonna come back at Pusha?’ I’m like, ‘What you mean? I’d love to do a song with him.’ He like, ‘Nah he dissing you now.’”

Lil Wayne, Saweetie, And Pusha T Hype The Upcoming NFL Season In A Clever Teaser

The 2022-23 NFL season is right around the corner and the league is already starting up the hype train. In recent years, the NFL has made more of an effort to embrace pop culture, especially hip-hop — likely in response to the backlash against it for blackballing Colin Kaepernick for protesting police brutality — and while that has meant progressive moves like tapping Dr. Dre for the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Los Angeles earlier this year, it’s also apparently extending to the league’s new promotional campaigns too.

The campaign, bearing the tagline “It feels good to football,” features fans preparing to enjoy games, juxtaposing imagery of marching bands and snack stands with players in tuxedos dancing and playing piano under spotlights. But just as important as the shots of the pep rally are who all is attending: rappers (and notable football fans) like Lil Wayne, Saweetie, and Pusha T. The promo spot also plays the instrumental from Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.,” giving a nod to this year’s Super Bowl Halftime performer, who brought buddies like 50 Cent, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Snoop Dogg along.

The 2022 NFL Kickoff game starts at 8:20 pm ET on Thursday, September 8, airing on NBC. Fittingly, it’ll take place at SoFi Stadium with the defending champion Rams taking on the Buffalo Bills.

Today in Hip-Hop History: The Clipse’s Debut LP ‘Lord Willin’ Turns 20 Years Old!

Screen Shot 2022 08 21 at 8.18.34 PM

Two decades ago today, Terrence and Gene Thorton aka Pusha T and Malice put out Lord Willin’, The Clipse’s debut album that helped them solidify their spots within honorable mention of some of the best lyricists in the game.

Produced exclusively by the Neptunes on Pharrell Williams’ Star Trak imprint, the album displayed The Clipse’s microphone prowess, which helps the squares navigate through their cocaine-flooded street slang. Along with artists like Timbaland and Magoo, Missy Elliot, and Pharrell, The Clipse was an intricate part of establishing VA as one of the East Coast’s strongholds in Hip Hop, which made room for artists like Chris Brown and Wale to add on to the legacy.

Some of the most memorable gems from the Twin Thorton’s first album include “Cot Damn” featuring their Re-Up Gang affiliates Ab-Liva and Philly’s Roscoe P. Coldchain, “When The Last Time” with their Star Trak team members Kelis and Pharrell, and the infamous “Grindin’” with remixes featuring Noreaga, and another infamous duo, Lil Wayne and Birdman.

Salute to Pusha, No Malice, Pharrell, and the rest of the Star Trak team for pushing out this timeless classic!
