SZA Not-So-Subtly Confirms She And Doja Cat Will Reunite On ‘Shirt’

Over a year ago now, SZA took to TikTok to tease a new song, which fans have collectively given the unofficial title of “Shirt.” The unreleased tune has since sometimes worked its way into SZA’s setlists, and she busted it out at London’s Wireless Festival over the weekend. Furthermore, she gave some more info about what the official release of the song will look like.

While introducing the track on stage, she asked her audience, “Do y’all want to know who’s on this song?” She continued, “The hint is that the we already have a song together, her name starts with a ‘D,’ and it rhymes with ‘Soja.’”

Those not-so-subtle clues clearly point to Doja Cat, who meets all of the qualifications, as she and SZA previously linked up on Doja’s 2021 single “Kiss Me More.”

Back when the song was first making the TikTok rounds, SZA told CBS This Morning, “‘Shirt’ is super easy to remember and now every time I work on it in the studio, I reference it as ‘Shirt.’ Some people call it ‘Blood Stain,’ which is very graphic. Now this song, which I wasn’t even 100-percent sure of the placement on my album, has centered itself on my album. Now we shot a video for it.”

The Weeknd Postpones His Toronto Tour Kickoff Due To The Rogers Communications Outage

Fans of The Weeknd have been waiting more than two years to see him on tour. Unfortunately, they’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. The long-anticipated “After Hours ‘Til Dawn Tour” was set to kick off at the Rogers Centre in Toronto tonight, however, due to an outage at Rogers Communications, the kickoff date has been postponed.

“We regret to announce that The Weeknd tour stop at Rogers Centre has been postponed due to service outages impacting venue operations,” read a tweet from the official account of the Toronto Blue Jays, who frequently play at Rogers Stadium. “A new show date will be shared ASAP and tickets will be honored. We understand how disappointing this is and apologize for the inconvenience.”

The outage has affected venue workers’ ability to scan tickets and maintain security. The Weeknd has since taken to social media to mourn the show’s postponement with fans.

“I’m crushed & heartbroken,” he said in an Instagram story. “Been at the venue all day but it’s out of our hands because of the Rogers outage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best. This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you’ve been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show to experience this special moment with me. I can’t wait to see you all.”

Doja Cat Is Upset With ‘Stranger Things’ Actor Noah Schnapp For Sharing Their Private DMs

A couple days ago, Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp took to TikTok to share some DMs between Doja Cat and himself, in which Doja romantically inquired about new Stranger Things co-star Joseph Quinn. It turns out Doja wasn’t pleased with that, as she has revealed in a live broadcast.

Doja started by trying to have empathy for 17-year-old Schnapp, saying, “First, let’s try to be chill about it. To be fair, this is, like, a kid. Noah is, like… I don’t know how old he is, but there’s no way he’s over, like, 21. And he might be, I could be wrong. But when you’re that young, you make mistakes. You do dumb sh*t. I’m trying to be super fair. You do dumb sh*t, you say dumb sh*t, you f*ckin’ f*ck up relationships with people. You make mistakes. You’re supposed to do stuff like that so that you know not to do it in the future. I did my share of f*ck-ups so that I don’t f*ck up again.”

Then, she continued, “But the fact that this person, that Noah did that — went and posted a private conversation between me and him — is so unbelievably socially unaware and wack, and like… you know what I mean? That’s like borderline snake sh*t… that’s like weasel sh*t.”

The video Schnapp shared is no longer up on his TikTok account and the actor has yet to publicly address the situation.

Doja Cat Is Super Into New ‘Stranger Things’ Star Joseph Quinn And Asked One Of His Co-Stars For DM Help

In late May, UK actor Joseph Quinn had himself a moment with his show-stealing role of Eddie Munson on the fourth season of Stranger Things. He instantly endeared himself to many, including Doja Cat, who tweeted days after the season premiere, “joseph quinn fine as sh*t.” It turns out Doja wanted to do more than just shout him out on Twitter, as she went as far as going through his Stranger Things co-stars to try to get in touch with him.

Last night, Noah Schnapp (aka Will Byers) took to TikTok to share a DM conversation he and Doja had on Instagram. It starts with Doja saying, “Noah can u tell Joseph to hmu,” then adding, “wait no. does he have a gf?” Schnapp responds, “LMAOO slide into his dms.” Doja replies, “idk his ig or twitter,” adding, “he doesn’t have a dm to slide in.” Schnapp then directs Doja to Quinn’s Instagram account and adds, “Right here ma’am,” and that ends the conversation.

Meanwhile, Quinn recently spoke about his big Metallica moment in the season finale, telling Entertainment Weekly of the scene, “I was playing [the song] on the day. We had a backing track and I was playing along with it. I wouldn’t wanna mess with what they’ve already got, but it was very useful to be able to play along character-wise. It’s a pretty adolescent fantasy to be a rockstar, isn’t it? I felt like one for a night. It was great having Gaten [Matarazzo] up there with me. They really turned it up when they played ‘Master Of Puppets’ and the whole crew were there. It was the first time that everyone felt like they were seeing live music — I say ‘live music’ — since the pandemic. So it felt like a real celebration.”

Lizzo Unveils The ‘Special’ Tracklist, Featuring Songs Called ‘Coldplay’ And ‘Everybody’s Gay’

There’s only one more Friday to go before Lizzo’s new album Special: It’s not out this week but it’s set for release on the 15th. Ahead of then, Lizzo has offered a better idea of what the album looks like by sharing the tracklist.

Included on the 12-song list is of course the single “About Damn Time,” as well as “Grrrls,” “I Love You B*tch,” “Everybody’s Gay,” and album closer “Coldplay,” which is named after the band that, like Lizzo, is signed to Atlantic Records. The tracklist doesn’t indicate if they — or anybody else, for that matter — feature on the album.

This comes after Lizzo received some good news earlier this week: On the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart, “About Damn Time” reached a new peak at No. 3. That makes it tied for her second-highest-charting song of her career: “Good As Hell” peaked at No. 3 while “Truth Hurts” was a chart-topper. Lizzo’s other charting singles are the Cardi B collaboration “Rumors” at No. 4 and “Juice” at No. 82.

Check out the Special tracklist below.

1. “The Sign”
2. “About Damn Time”
3. “Grrrls”
4. “2 Be Loved”
5. “I Love You B*tch”
6. “Special”
7. “Break Up Twice”
8. “Everybody’s Gay”
9. “Naked”
10. “Birthday Girl”
11. “If You Love Me”

Doja Cat’s ‘Planet Her’ Earns Its Fifth Top 5 Hit On The Billboard Pop Airplay Chart

Doja Cat has racked up major accomplishments in her short time as an artist. This week, Billboard‘s Pop Airplay chart showed that “Get Into It (Yuh)” climbed from No. 7 to No. 5, making it her fifth track from her June 2021 album Planet Her to crack the top five of that list. The LP now joins a very elite company as just the seventh album to include at least five top ten hits.

This news comes just under a week after the 26-year-old was reported to have earned 22 new RIAA certifications spanning across her albums Planet Her, 2019’s Hot Pink and 2018’s Amala. This achievement allows her to stand alongside rap titan Nicki Minaj at 14 Platinum singles, the second-most ever for a female rapper, and just behind Cardi B, who has 17. Of the aforementioned 22 new certifications, “Say So” is now five-times Platinum and the SZA-assisted “Kiss Me More” is four-times Platinum.

These achievements continue to show that, despite previous controversies, hard work and good music can conquer all for the “Juicy” artist. Fans will have to wait to celebrate with her as she will miss her upcoming shows due to tonsil surgery, but this just leaves more time for more accomplishments before she’s back tearing up stages again.

Adele Brings A Fan’s Megan Thee Stallion Mashup To Life During Her Show In London

Azealia Banks may not enjoy fans mashing up her music with Beyonce’s new single “Break My Soul,” but it looks like some stars really do appreciate it when fans reinterpret their songs in cheeky ways. One such artist is Adele, who acknowledged a viral fan-made video mashing up her song “Under The Bridge” with Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body” during a recent show in London.

The mashup was inspired by a trend on TikTok of fans performing Megan’s “Body” choreography to the seemingly incongruous “Under The Bridge.” Its creator, who goes by Ben Vertz, crafted the video to edit one of Megan’s “Body” verses into the instrumental for “Under The Bridge” and became kind of a hit on the platform in its own right, even becoming the subject of several viral tweets like the ones below.

It seems that Adele loved the mashup so much that she decided to incorporate the choreo into her own live show, as seen in a few more tweets Ben Vertz posted himself after being sent a few angles by fans on social media.

Megan herself caught wind and shared a clip to her Instagram Story, shouting out “Hot Girl Adele.”

And thus, we are one step closer to a legit Megan Thee Stallion/Adele collaboration, which is a win for everybody — one made possible, once again, by those oddball geniuses on TikTok.
