Conor McGregor Speaks On Latest School Shooting

Conor McGregor gave his opinion on solving school shootings in America. After the recent tragedy in Nashville, many are looking for answers. A gunman entered The Covenant School in Nashville, killing six. The list of victims included three children and three adults. The gunman also died at the scene. Every time a situation like this happens, the American people demand answers. However, nothing has yet been done to create a safer environment for American children. But McGregor claims to have a solution.

The MMA legend believes that schools should have more armed guards. From TMZ, McGregor had a lot to say on the matter, “I have had my children at school here while stateside and have had my own armed guard present at the school. This was prior to the most recent school shooting also.” School shootings have continued to grow throughout the United States. With so many incidents happening as of late, these discussions have been popular on social media.

McGregor wasn’t finished with thoughts on the situation. He also stated, “If she shot her way in to that school from the outside, my guard, who is tucked away, armed and unseen, would have seen her and taken her down. Saving those children’s lives.” The situation isn’t something that any family should have to go through. While many have their answers on how to solve the issue, McGregor believes in stronger security.

Mass shootings are a part of the culture in the United States. While politicians can’t seem to make a move on creating a safer space, citizens are taking it on themselves. Our thoughts are with those that had to deal with this horrifying incident in Nashville. No one ever wants to receive a call of this nature. How do you feel that America can solve this issue? NY Assembly Dems Opposing Gov. Hochul on Rollback of Bail Reform Laws

NY Assembly Dems Opposing Gov. Hochul on Rollback of Bail Reform Laws

This week, NY Gov. Kathy Hochul revealed the state budget would not meet the April 1 deadline, highlighting the bail law as a major hurdle toward completion. Hochul has spoken toward adjustments to the “least restrictive means” of bail, which rank-and-file assembly democrats strongly oppose.

The bail law was enacted in 2019 and is now facing repealing. On Thursday, criminal justice advocates and activists, and supporting lawmakers combined to show their force and why the 2019 bail law must remain in tact.

The show of unity comes along with the power of the memory of Marvin Mayfield, the late criminal justice advocate, who operates in support of those who have long been marginalized.

After a report about the position to hamper bail laws, Assembly Member Latrice Walker released a statement to City & State NY, staying aligned with its stance to combat any return to prior laws. “I feel the need to clarify that the Assembly Majority opposes any changes to weaken or upend the bail laws and subject more New Yorkers to the dangers of pretrial detention,” she wrote.

Gov. Hochul is still steadfast in rolling back reform, hanging the budget in the balance as a leverage point. “The governor drives the budget process and she’s using that leverage to negotiate her priorities – especially criminal justice and housing – before anything else,” Jack O’Donnell, Democratic political strategist and managing partner of O’Donnell & Associates, said.

The issue doesn’t solely rely on the hindrances that rollback cause to processes. Still, it ultimately would turn bail into a system that can do more than just order citizens back to court, and that point directly correlates to the burden of Black, brown, and poor communities.

U.S. Capitol Insurrection’s “Qanon Shaman” Released 14 Months Early From Prison

Screen Shot 2023 03 30 at 10.55.51 PM

Several news reports have confirmed that Jacob Chansely aka the “Qanon Shaman”, the man who was sentenced in 2021 to 41 months in prison was released more than a year early to a halfway house to complete his sentence.

The 35-year-old aspiring actor was moved to a “residential re-entry management” facility in Phoenix and is expected to be released from custody on May 25.

Chansley, who received the longest jail term of any of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol rioters, was convicted of a single count of felony obstruction of justice. He was one of nearly 1,000 people who were charged in the 6 January 2021 riot. Supporters of the riot stormed the Capitol as lawmakers certified President Joe Biden’s election win in 2020.

Chansley’s lawyer Albert Watkins said in a statement that the early release of his client was “appropriate” and he should be “permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law-abiding and enriching life”.

He recently re-emerged in the national spotlight after Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued the riot was mostly peaceful, airing footage of the self-styled QAnon Shaman wandering the halls of Congress with police officers either escorting him, or making no attempt to bar his way.

His alias was a reference to a baseless conspiracy theory whose adherents believe former President Donald Trump was waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles.

Donald Trump Indicted By Grand Jury Over Stormy Daniels Hush Money

Earlier this month, Donald Trump suggested on Truth Social that an arrest could be in his near future. While the former President got the date wrong, word of him being taken into custody was on point, according to TMZ. On Thursday (March 30), it was officially announced that a Manhattan grand jury has voted to indict the embattled politician. The charges are specifically regarding his alleged involvement in giving adult actress Stormy Daniels hush money to stay quiet about their intimate past.

An exact timetable of events remains unknown for now. However, it has been said that Trump will turn himself into authorities in the near future. The jury involved in the investigation has been listening to witness testimony since January. Among those who shared their experience of events include The Apprentice creator’s former attorney/fixer, Michael Cohen. He previously served prison time for his involvement in the Daniels scandal. It’s worth noting that the New York native himself didn’t appear before the group.

Donald Trump Indicted in New York City

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has yet to announce the charges, though they’ll likely come within the next few days. At this time, Trump is believed to be at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida but will fly to the Big Apple to cooperate. In his initial post warning followers of a potential impending arrest, the 76-year-old questionably called for other Republicans to protest, even threatening “death and destruction” coming if he were to be indicted. As a result, the city has been placed on high alert in preparation for any wild antics.

With this indictment, Donald Trump is officially the first U.S. President to receive criminal charges. He’s been accused of brokering a $130,000 payment to Daniels during his first political campaign, in 2016, as she attempted to publicly expose their 2006 affair. Cohen claims he was at the centre of the deal, and was responsible for cutting the check to the pornstar before later being reimbursed by the embattled star’s organization. DT has consistently denied these allegations, calling both witnesses liars. Where do you think the famous blonde’s fate lies after his arrest? Sound off in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Will New York State Get Soft on Bail Reform?

Will New York State Get Soft on Bail Reform?

The New York state assembly has presented language that impacts bail laws by removing the “least restrictive means” that judges use for bail.

The change is led by Gov. Kathy Hochul, opening leadership to the revisions that fall under a $227 billion budget. The language was revealed by Politico, showing the “least restrictive means” would be removed from standard judges on how to ensure a person comes to a court date.

Reps stated judges should lean more into current state law for qualifications of a bail. The final conditions decision would still rely on a judge’s indvidual analysis. Removing those would significantly impact Black, brown, and poor communities.

Hochul’s desire to remove the “least restrictive” standard reduces the access to bail for all crimes, including violent felonies, creating classes for offenses. The next step would be opening the negotiation table to accept the draft language.

The state budget is due March 31, but the entry is expected later.

To provide an actual investment into safety and protect bail options, the assembly must recognize Real community safety measures should be available to all communities. In addition, every resident should desire to be healthy and safe to thrive; those options include affordable and supportive housing, vouchers, support for all works, mental health first responders, and more.

The efforts for bail reform have shown success across the state without affecting the re-arrest rate, decreasing pre-trial incarceration, and raising court appearance rates. In addition to eliminating a legal norm from the bail law’s Civil Rights era and replacing it with nothing, the Governor’s proposal will only result in more Black, Brown, and poor individuals being imprisoned pending trial.

The proper direction would be a no to mass jailing and reducing the citizens’ options.

Israeli PM Calls Trump’s Dinner With Kanye West A “Big Mistake”: Report

No one’s forgotten about Kanye West’s anti-semitic tirade throughout the end of 2022, especially the prime minister of Israel. Just after Ye offered an olive branch to the Jewish community with a post about Jonah Hill, Benjamin Netanyahu recently sat down with Piers Morgan for an exclusive interview where he shed light on his true feelings about Trump’s dinner with Ye. He described the meeting as “horrible,” as Trump hosted Kanye West and prominent ring-wing figure Nick Fuentes at Mar-A-Lago.

“I thought it was horrible. I think it’s a big mistake,” Netanyahu said of Trump’s dinner with Kanye West and Fuentes. “It’s wrong from every point of view. It [anti-semitism] should not be countenanced, it should not be accepted, it should be rebuked and condemned and that’s what I do. And I don’t care where it comes from, or from whom.” Despite his praise for Trump in the past, Netanyahu is among the millions of people outraged at his decision to invite Kanye West to dinner as he spewed hatred toward the Jewish community.

Kanye West & Trump’s Friendship Leaves Israeli PM Upset

Kanye West and Trump began forming a tight bond just as the former president entered office. Following the tumultuous Life Of Pablo tour that ended abruptly. Ye and Trump met in New York for a meeting. However, it was a few years later that Kanye West went full-blown MAGA. His infamous appearance at the White House remains a contentious part of Ye’s legacy. That moment marked the beginning of a downward spiral that included his anti-Jewish remarks on podcasts and social media.

Netanyahu didn’t comment on Kanye West’s potential bid for president in the 2024 elections. However, Trump certainly isn’t down to run against him. During the same press run that found Ye identifying as a Holocaust denier, he revealed that part of his trip to Mar A Lago was to ask Trump to be his VP. Kanye said Trump yelled at him but the former president but Trump said he advised Ye, “Don’t run for office, a total waste of time, can’t win,” before taking a shot at media, writing, “Fake News went CRAZY!”

Adidas Goes Back On Effort To Block Black Lives Matter Logo

Adidas is one of the biggest sportswear companies in the entire world. Overall, they have sold billions of dollars worth of sneakers over the years. Moreover, they have set various trends throughout each decade that they have been in existence. They are a brand with a very distinct look, which is certainly all thanks to its three-stripes logo. This is a staple of the Adidas aesthetic, and as you can imagine, they are very protective of their child. Sometimes to a detrimental degree.

According to Complex, earlier this week, Adidas tried to block the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation from trademarking a logo with three stripes in it. After careful consideration, however, they decided to go back on their original decision. In a statement to the news outlet Reuters, Adidas said: “Adidas will withdraw its opposition to the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation’s trademark application as soon as possible.” It seems as though the company was a bit worried about how this request would come across. As Complex reported, some within the brand thought that their effort could be misinterpreted as a critique of BLM as a whole.

Adidas Realizes Their Mistake

The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation was simply trying to trademark the logo above. This logo would then appear on all sorts of apparel, as well as items such as mugs. Although the BLMGNF was almost subjected to sabotage from Adidas, it seems like they will be able to move forward with their original trademark request. Clearly, the three-stripes brand has come to the realization that BLM’s logo could not be mistaken for their own. After all, we don’t see Adidas when we see the shirt above.

The German sportswear brand is already having a bad year. They are expected to see record losses in the wake of their failed partnership with Kanye West. That said, they have to be careful about Public Relations disasters. Having said that, it is a good thing they rescinded Monday’s filing. Let us know what you think about all this, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from the sportswear world.

Mike Pence Ordered to Testify in Jan 6. Federal Case

j

Former vice president Mike Pence is headed to court. A federal judge has ordered Pence to appear in front of a grand jury that is investigating former president Donald J. Trump.

The request for Pence comes in an investigation of Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. According to the New York Times, Judge James E. Boasberg’s rulings impact Trump’s attempt to limit the type of questions that can be positioned against him in court.

Pence is being requested after Trump asked for him to delay or block the Electoral College vote count, cementing Trump’s loss. Before the court order, Trump’s lawyer asked for the court’s chief judge, Beryl A. Howell, to limit what Pence could deliver in testimony.

On the other hand, Pence’s lawyers also asked for limited testimony due to his role as president of the Senate, which would exclude him from any legal issues.

You can learn more about Pence’s order here.

Meek Mill Joins Robert Kraft’s $25M Campaign To Combat Antisemitism

Just a few days after Kanye West issued an apology of sorts to the Jewish community, Meek Mill’s joined a fight to combat antisemitism. Robert Kraft recently announced a $25M initiative to combat anti-Jewish hatred, which has undoubtedly increased over the past few months. Kraft enlisted the help of Tom Brady and Meek Mill for the initiative, which will go through the Patriots owner’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism. Kraft explained that the rising number of antisemitic incidents inspired him to raise awareness of what’s happening across the country.

“What’s happening in America today, it is a big part of my life,” Kraft told People about the new initiative. “There’s been work done that shows that 50% of Americans do not realize that antisemitism is any problem, and the Jewish population is roughly 2.4% of the population in the US but yet receives over 55% of the hate crimes.” With the help of Meek Mill and Tom Brady, Robert Kraft aims to “educate all Americans” on the hateful acts perpetrated against the Jewish community.

Meek Mill, Tom Brady Join Robert Kraft’s Initiative

Kraft’s foundation already began rolling out its campaign via social media through the Blue Square emoji. They’ve shared a number of stories that highlight the struggles Jewish Americans face right now. “[Tom Brady] and I are still very tight and he will be using this blue emoji when we kick off again,” Kraft said of enlisting the retired quarterback for his campaign. It seems as though Meek Mill will likely join Tom Brady and Robert Kraft on the social campaign, as well.

The Philadelphia rapper’s involvement doesn’t come as much of a surprise, especially since Kraft played a big role in helping launch the REFORM initiative. Meek Mill will join Robert Kraft during a trip to Poland next month for the March of the Light. The event takes visitors through the locations of concentration camps in the country. Robert Kraft explained Meek Mill will join him to “see what went on” during the Holocaust. The rapper later shared the news on Twitter, writing, “Shout out to Robert,” along with several diamond emojis.

Kanye West’s Apology Denounced By Jewish Organizations

Cancel culture’s targeted Kanye West time and time again but it’s never been as effective as when he embarked on an anti-semitic press run to cap off a tumultuous 2022. However, he recently issued an apology to the Jewish community in the form of a tribute post to Jonah Hill. Following a lengthy break from Instagram, Kanye returned to disavow the anti-semitic tropes he spewed on platforms like Drink Champs and Fox News.

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again,” Ye wrote. “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.” The rapper went on to add, “No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew… Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.” Jonah Hill didn’t respond but the film’s director, Christopher Miller, appeared to have mixed feelings about Ye’s comments. “Um… thanks for watching?” Miller wrote.

StopAntisemitism & AJC Reject Ye’s Apology

A few Jewish organizations have denounced Ye’s apology as inadequate, especially after the harm he caused. Between praising Hitler, denying the number of deaths during the Holocaust, and claiming he’d go “death con 3” on the Jewish people, StopAntisemitic and the American Jewish Committee believe he needs to do a bit more than watch 21 Jump Street. “It is a little odd that all it might take for Kanye to renounce his vile antisemitism is to watch and 11-year-old Jonah Hill movie. Whether Kanye is sincere, only he knows,” AJC rep Richard Hirschhaut said.

“Joking about a movie with Jonah Hill is not the apology that the Jewish people deserve from Kanye, particularly when his antisemitic tirades continue to have a dangerous trickle-down effect of hatred against Jews,” said Liora Rez, executive director of StopAntisemitism, per TMZ. This group previously labeled Ye the “Antisemite Of The Year.” Shortly after, the ADL said his remarks were linked to 30 antisemitic incidents in the U.S. Still, Rez said not all hope is lost for Kanye West. They believe he can begin the process by denouncing Nick Fuentes. The AJC echoed a similar sentiment. However, they want him to “renounce each of these repeated, threatening and vile expressions of antisemitism.”
