Jake Paul Responds To Conor McGregor Criticism Of Mike Tyson Fight

Jake Paul has said his fight with Mike Tyson will be “the most viewed boxing event of all time” while hitting back at criticism from Conor McGregor. “No fight ever has done these numbers in terms of face-off views, Instagram reels,” Jake said. “Just on our main pages alone, it’s like 50-60 million Instagram views on both of our posts. Not to mention every single other sports page posting it. That’s never happened in the history of the sport, to reach those numbers,” Paul said of the pre-fight hype.

Paul’s comments were directed at McGregor, who joined the voices stating that there was no interest in the fight. McGregor went as far as to say that people would rather see him fight Tyson. However, Paul did make one concession. As the fight was being streamed on Netflix, and would be free to all Netflix subscribers, there would be no PPV data to compare with previous fights. Instead, Paul and Tyson will have to rely on raw viewership and viewer retention data to make their case.

Michael Chandler Confirms Conor McGregor Bout

Elsewhere, Michael Chandler has confirmed that he will be fighting McGregor this year. “I’ve got the official announcement. It’s happening this summer. I can’t tell you the actual date, but it’s happening this summer!” Chandler told TMZ. McGregor had previously teased a fight with Chandler for the summer. “I’d like to announce the return date for myself, ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor. The greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas, International Fight Week of June 29. The opponent, Michael Chandler — and the weight, Mr. Chandler, 185 pounds,” McGregor announced in a video on X on New Year’s Eve. However, the UFC did not, and has not, confirmed that fight. That may change given Chandler’s new announcement.

As mentioned, McGregor is expected to return to the Octagon later this year. Furthermore, McGregor’s previously stated 185-pound weight is interesting as it’s well beyond the “natural” weight of both fighters. McGregor and Chandler both traditionally fight at 155 lbs. McGregor has previously fought as high as 170 lbs but never at 185 lbs. Additionally, it will be interesting to see how McGregor fares after two years away. His last two fights were convincing losses before he was sidelined with a broken leg.

Conor McGregor “Raps” During Twitter Beef, Immediately Deletes His Verse

Elsewhere, McGregor tried his hand at rapping after getting into a feud on X, formerly Twitter. McGregor posted a 2-minute verse aimed at Scott Moore, a political commentator and battle rapper from Northern Ireland, after Moore called McGregor “a profoundly stupid person”. McGregor’s stilted verse took aim at Moore’s appearance and Northern Irish origin. However, like many of McGregor’s tweets, it was quickly deleted from McGregor’s page. Moore still responded to McGregor’s verse with one of his own, going as far as to essentially call McGregor an English collaborator. However, his call for McGregor to face him in person was short-lived as McGregor simply chose to block him instead.

All of this stemmed from McGregor posting a selfie with the caption “Ireland, your President”. That’s what sparked the original comment from Moore. Furthermore, Moore informed McGregor that it was below the belt to go after his appearances and mannerisms as Moore suffers from a mental health condition that causes him to pick at his skin and is also autistic, meaning there are many mannerisms he can’t control. Unfortunately, the prevailing opinion online was that this was another L for the MMA great.

McGregor Eyes MMA Return

The birth comes amid speculation that McGregor is gearing up for his return to the UFC. In October, McGregor officially rejoined the USADA drug testing pool. Returning to the Octagon after two years battling a leg injury, McGregor had previously been reluctant to rejoin the pool. This led many people to believe that he had been using steroids during his rehabilitation. According to the UFC’s agreement with USADA, a fighter who rejoins the testing pool must remain in it for six months and pass two random tests before they can fight again. While appeals were made to eliminate the six-month waiting period for McGregor, the anti-doping agency held firm.

It’s unknown who McGregor’s first fight back will be against. Many assumed that it would be against Michael Chandler after the two went head-to-head on The Ultimate Fighter. However, McGregor has spent his time away calling out anyone and everyone who comes to mind. That said, many people are now eyeing UFC 300 as McGregor’s return. That would give him plenty of time to fully recover, as well as arrange a fight for himself.

Conor McGregor Dodges Charges On Alleged NBA Finals Rape

Conor McGregor will not be charged after being accused of raping a woman at Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals. Prosecutors in Miami declined to charge the MMA fighter due to insufficient evidence and a lack of corroborating witnesses. While prosecutors acknowledged that CCTV footage showed McGregor and his accused did enter a men’s bathroom for approximately five minutes, they stated that there simply wasn’t proof that McGregor sexually assaulted the woman. Furthermore, prosecutors pointed to comments the alleged victim made to law enforcement in which she appeared to ask if they thought McGregor was likely to financially settle the case.

“After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor. On behalf of my client, his family and his fans we are pleased this is now over,” Barbara Llanes, an attorney for McGregor, told TMZ this week. McGregor had proclaimed his innocence throughout the investigation. Furthermore, the fighter’s team had dismissed the claims from the start as nothing more than financial intimidation.

Dillon Danis Shouts Out Conor McGregor After Horrific Showing Against Logan Paul

Dillon Danis got absolutely dusted against Logan Paul this past weekend. Overall, it was a pretty bad fight for everyone involved. Logan didn’t look particularly good. However, he was much better than Danis, who couldn’t hit anything to save his life. He was getting beaten up pretty handily, and it became clear that he is a social media warrior. Despite all of this, he is still feeling thankful. For instance, he took to Twitter today where he thanked his mentor Conor McGregor. Below, you can see the array of nice words.

“Just an appreciation post for my brother,” Danis wrote. “I have learned so much from him in my life and he always has had my back through everything. He is the greatest fighter of our generation and I’m blessed to call him my brother. I could go on for paragraphs about what this man has done for me but just wanted to say, love you, my G. Got your back till the end.”

Dillon Danis Gives His Thoughts

McGregor eventually replied to Danis by noting just how proud he is of him. Moreover, he noted that Danis accomplished a lot by getting in the ring. He even brought up his jiu-jitsu titles, as if that means anything after such a shocking drubbing. “Proud of you Dillon!” Conor said back. “You built that card tremendously and went out swinging! 4x jiu jitsu world champion with the bottle to go into Pro boxing in front of the world. Chalk it up to the first time ever in history that has been done! Well done brother! Onwards!”

Needless to say, Danis should probably never get back in the ring, ever again. His showing was embarrassing, and had he fought a real boxer, he would have been knocked out easily. Let us know what you thought of Danis and his performance, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the sports world.
