Nicki Minaj Shares A “Surprise” With Fans, Delivers Heartfelt Message

Today, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to drop off a special surprise for fans. The hitmaker shared a Tweet, prompting supporters to click a link to get their “surprise” by pre-saving her album. Nicki says that moving forward, she’ll have a new gift for the Barbz every Friday. The gifts will lead up to the eagerly-anticipated release of Pink Friday 2, so long as fans pre-save the album. She didn’t give many hints as to what kind of gifts fans can expect. Nicki did make it clear, however, that “every Friday will be Pink Friday.” The LP is slated for release on November 17 of this year, and will serve as a sequel to her iconic 2010 album, Pink Friday.

Fans were not only graced with a special surprise from Nicki today. She also delivered a heartfelt message to her supporters, calling her upcoming album a “gift” to them for their dedication. Nicki responded to a fan telling her that they’re looking forward to the album, telling them, “I’m so grateful to have you guys still here holding me down.” She also added, “This album is the gift for your continued love & patience. You’re going to see why this one is better than all of them combined. #PinkFriday2.”

Nicki Minaj Thanks Fans For Their Support

Pink Friday 2 isn’t the only thing the Barbz have to look forward to in the near future. It was also recently revealed that Nicki will headline iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball tour this year, alongside SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and more. Footage from the tour will also be put together for the first time in a two-hour TV special, airing on ABC on December 21.

Charlamagne tha God is blasting the decision of Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who threatened Offset. That threat has now landed Petty under house arrest. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne claims Petty has forgotten street rules.

“You begging to go to prison,” CTG said. “It’s incredible to me that all these street dudes have let the Internet make them forget street rules. Number one, you should’ve been let go of all the childish ways of the street, first and foremost. That’s number one. But number two, I remember a time where folks wouldn’t talk about any dirt over the phone. Now y’all recording yourselves in 4K and posting it online?”

Last week, Kenneth Petty threatened Offset on social media. Unfortunately for him, that threat has led to legal trouble.

According to famed court reporter Meghann Cuniff, Petty has been ordered to 120 days of house arrest by a federal judge in Los Angeles for his threats.

Nicki Minaj’s upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, is already one of the decade’s most anticipated offerings. The rap icon’s last studio album was released in 2018, five years ago. While the rapper has consistently assisted with features here and there, and dropped a few singles along the way, the Barbz have been clamoring for a new album for quite some time. Well, the Queen is finally set to give them what they’ve been wanting for years.

Nicki Minaj is, without a doubt, one of the greatest female rappers of all time, if not the greatest. She has especially shattered numerous glass ceilings throughout her career. Furthermore, she has inspired a new generation of female rappers to pursue their dreams. With her fifth studio album prepped to drop in a few weeks, the rap giant is set to secure her legacy even further. Fans have been anxious since the album announcement, as another classic album is about to be added to her already impressive discography. Pink Friday 2 is scheduled to be released soon, and Nicki Minaj is rolling out in grand style.

Pink Friday 2 Singles

Even before its release, Pink Friday 2 has rightfully brought Nicki Minaj some deserved glory. The lead single from the album, “Super Freaky Girl” was released on August 12, 2022, and became a mega-hit. Moreover, it became the rapper’s first solo Billboard Hot 100 number one hit. She had come close several times before, especially with her 2014 single “Anaconda” which peaked at number two. Remarkably, “Super Freaky Girl” debuted at number one, and broke the long cycle of her deserved claim of the top spot. Minaj followed “Super Freaky Girl” with the promotional single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which she released in March 2023. The song achieved significant chart success, peaking at number 13 on the Hot 100 chart.

A few months later, on September 1st, 2023, Minaj released another new single from the album, titled, “Last Time I Saw You,” which finds her learning into a pop-rap hybrid with relatable lyrics. Although the song did not perform as impressively as its predecessors, it succeeded in raising the hype around Pink Friday 2. Moreover, at the recently held MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, Minaj gave a stellar performance of her new single before debuting a new track from the upcoming album. The new track has since been revealed to be titled “Big Difference.” With the release of Pink Friday 2 about two months away, fans speculate that “Big Difference” could be the third single released.

So far, all the singles released from Pink Friday 2 have been solo singles. It is unconfirmed at the moment whether or not there will be featured artists on the project, or if it will be a full-blown solo studio album. However, fans are particularly interested in seeing rising rapper Ice Spice on the album. The two have already collaborated on two songs this year, and the Barbz want more.

On September 5, Nicki revealed a cover image for the album on social media. It features her clothed in a blush pink ensemble, posing in a makeshift, pink train. So far, an official tracklist has not yet been released for the album. This is also why the featured artists, if any, are unconfirmed. Fortunately, fans will not have to wait too long. Pink Friday 2 will be released on November 17, 2023. In the near future, we expect Minaj will reveal the tracklist, and potentially drop one more single.

Nicki Minaj Previews “Pink Friday 2” During VMAs Performance

Nicki Minaj performed an unreleased song from her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, while on stage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night. Hosting the event, Minaj kicked things off with a stripped-down performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.” After the emotional affair, she dropped her black cloak to reveal a sheer bodysuit underneath and launched into the unreleased track.

“It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give y’all a Pink Friday 2 exclusive,” she teased. The lights then shifted from soft pink to dark red as Minaj began rapping. “It’s a big difference between me and you,” she said on the braggadocious track. “I ain’t nothing like you, you, you or you.”

Minaj has been teasing Pink Friday 2 for months now. Back in June, she confirmed the release date for November while hinting that she plans to go on tour at the beginning of 2024. “I love you guys so much,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me. At times maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but obviously the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. I’ll also share the REAL album cover at a later date.”

Nicki Minaj Teases “Pink Friday 2”

The project will serve as a sequel to Minaj’s debut studio album, Pink Friday, which she dropped in November, 13 years earlier. That album produced her hits “Superbass,” “Your Love,” “Check It Out,” “Right Thru Me,” “Moment 4 Life,” and “Fly.” It featured guest vocals from Eminem, Rihanna, Drake, will.i.am, Kanye West, and Natasha Bedingfield. Nicki Minaj continues to get fans ready for Pink Friday 2. In her latest tweet update, Minaj guarantees “eargasms” as she worked on her current Top 2 songs from the body of work.

“Yesterday I worked on my current TOP 2 songs off PF2,” Minaj wrote on Twitter. “The eargasms that YALL are about to have. Ooohhhh chiiiii huntyyyyy don’t make dat serveeee.”

In a previous update, Minaj declared what would happen when Pink Friday 2 dropped.

“Y’all, I’m not even kidding. In 111 days…Pink Friday 2 is coming to save & restore hope in mankind omg barbz I love you I dooooo!” Minajr wrote.

In a separate tweet, she stated, “The barbz will gather around the camp fire and well… you’ll have to wait to see what we do next.”

Nicki Minaj has a new album coming soon, so what better time for her to return to the VMA stage? Nicki took a break from her hosting duties — one year after being honored as a Video Vanguard — to perform her new single, “Last Time I Saw You.” As the song itself is relatively intimate in comparison to NIcki’s last few chart toppers, her performance was suitably stripped-down, opening with Nicki standing at the mic in a billowing gown — which she slowly doffed as she continued her performance.

Then, at the close of the song, she decided to hit the audience with a new song from the upcoming Pink Friday 2. “I like my hundreds blue,” she declared on the hook, while issuing combative lyrics demanding acknowledgment for her trendsetter status. There are definitely going to be some Barbz taking this thing way too seriously by tomorrow morning and I’m already exhausted — but the beat’s nice and it’s Nicki at her battle rapping best.

Nicki is also one of the artists nominated for awards this evening, including Video Of The Year and Hip-Hop Video Of The Year for “Super Freaky Girl,” R&B Video Of The Year for “Love In The Way” with Yung Bleu, Artist Of The Year, and Song Of The Summer. Janet Jackson Reacts After Barbz Claim She Threw Shade At Nicki Minaj

Misunderstandings are common in the world of social media but once stan culture gets involved, tensions could rise rapidly. That is especially the case whenever the Barbz come along. Most recently, Janet Jackson nearly found herself in the crosshairs of Nicki Minaj’s dedicated fanbase. The Barbz came out in droves after the Control singer shared a photo of herself in a white jacket. The tweet also included a gif of Black-ish star Marsai Martin putting on a pair of shades with the caption simply reading, “#fashhhionn.”

None of this seems problematic to the average person but the Barbz are a detail-oriented bunch. Just days prior, Nicki Minaj shared one of two possible covers for her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, revealing the Queen rapper donning a white jacket. So, the Barbz called out Janet Jackson in an attempt to defend Nicki Minaj but what they got instead was a measured response from a legend in the music industry who undoubtedly paved the way for the “Barbie World” rapper in the first place.

Janet Jackson’s Response

The tweets surrounding Jackson’s supposed shade garnered significant attention across social media. The Barbz passionately defended Nicki while others explained that the white jacket was a mere coincidence. Eventually, the discourse landed on Jackson’s radar and she set the record straight. “It’s a shame that people want to pit one artist against another,” she wrote in response to a fan who said Jackson was “showing off her fashion.” Moreover, the R&B legend actually liked the post of Nicki’s cover art.

Evidently, Janet Jackson holds no negativity towards Nicki Minaj. The Queens native later paid her respect toward Jackson, quoting the tweet and writing, “Icon. Legend. Royalty. The original definition of #ICanBeAllTheWayCoveredItsSTILLgivingSEXY.” With Pink Friday 2 set to drop later this year, perhaps, we might catch Nicki Minaj and Janet Jackson on the same song soon.
