Takeoff Shooting Detailed By Survivor, Sydney Leday: “I Remember Running Away”

It was a devastating loss when Takeoff was murdered last November. Since then, investigators have been piecing together what happened that fateful evening in a Houston bowling alley. Takeoff was with several others, including Quavo and J. Prince’s family members, in the early morning of November 1. It’s reported that a disagreement over a dice game turned deadly, with Takeoff being the only victim. Police claim he wasn’t even a part of the argument, just an innocent bystander.

However, he wasn’t the only person shot during the altercation. A woman named Sydney Leday was also injured, and after fighting for her life, she’s detailing her experience. “Everything happened within a few seconds,” she told The Shade Room during an interview. Halloween marked Leday’s 24th birthday, and she was excited to be out and about in Houston. She never expected to be shot in the head that evening. “As soon as I saw a weapon, I tried to hurry up and get out of there.”

Sydney Leday Shares Her Story

According to Sydney, she enjoyed a night on the town with her friends when they were invited to an after hours party at the bowling alley. “I’ve never been in this situation or known anybody that had to go through what I’m going through,” said Leday. “I’m just working on trying to get back to a normal [life] as much as possible.” The party was reportedly “thrown by J. Prince,” said The Shade Room. Sydney added, “I would say, we got there about one o’clock in the morning.” However, when the party seemed to be coming to an end, Leday noticed a shift in the energy.

“Everybody seemed like they knew each other,” she noted. Leday and her friend then watched on as the dice game unfolded. “We got outside, and it was time for everybody to go home. That’s when things changed.” The victim recalled seeing Quavo arguing with a man before other patrons came outside to see what was happening. Initially, it wasn’t a fight, but the two men were discussing the game that reportedly concerned $100K. When things turned serious, Leday remembered being “caught off guard.” Then, someone “[pulled] out a weapon,” which was Leday’s cue that it was time to go.

She Didn’t Know She Was Shot

Sydney didn’t hear the gunshots until she was at an escalator. “I remember running away,” but then suddenly, she crumbled to the ground. Her friend tried to pick her up. “I felt the sting in my head,” she said. “I didn’t realize what actually happened to me, and fortunately, I had on a wig and a wig cap. So, I took the wig off and noticed that I had a lot of blood.” Her friend rushed her to the hospital, and Leday began having seizures during the journey. She was in a coma for days and is grateful to be alive. Yet, her road to recovery is far from over. Watch the report above to see what else The Shade Room uncovered in court documents.

Takeoff Murder Suspect Patrick Clark Bond Paid By “Concerned Citizen”: Report

After multiple attempts to get out of jail, Patrick Clark has been released on bond. He is the chief suspect in the murder of Takeoff, and it was expected that Clark wouldn’t be able to make bail. Initially set at $2 million, the bond was later lowered to $1 million. Days ago, it was announced that Clark made bond and would find freedom once again, but questions were raised regarding who put up the bill.

A report by KTVU News also stated Clark’s attorney Letitia D. Quinones shared a statement regarding his release. “Neither Patrick nor his family posted the bond in this case,” she said.

“A concerned citizen and family friend who believes in Patrick’s innocence posted the bond on his behalf,” the lawyer continued. “Like any other defendant, Patrick is presumed to be innocent and has the right to bond. He also has an obligation to comply with all the terms the court has laid out.”

“He intends to comply fully and will appear for proceedings whenever the court requires him to do so. We believe Patrick is innocent and at the appropriate time, the evidence will reveal that to be the case.”

Meanwhile, some people questioned how this could occur when Clark’s team recently requested $5K from the court. They further claimed they needed the money to fund a private investigator for his defense.

Takeoff's Murder Suspect Released on $1 Million Bond

Patrick Clark, the man who is charged with the murder of Takeoff, is free from jail on a $1 million bond.

ABC13 notes Clark made a bond on Wednesday, days after Clark’s legal team attempted to have his bond lowered to $300,000. Clark’s bond was initially set at $2 million but was lowered by Judge Josh JIll, due to previous statements that he could pay $1 million bail and bail bond companies would take that risk.

Clark is believed to be a DJ, working at strip clubs, and also a club promoter. His exact amount of cash is uncertain due to being paid in cash. Clark is also considered a flight risk and had to surrender his passport.

Clark was ruled to remain in his parent’s home on the east side of Houston, and he cannot have contact with Takeoff’s family. He is set to return to court in March.

Throughout the case, Clark maintained his innocence, but detectives have video of him firing his gun, and those bullets are the ones that allegedly struck Takeoff.

Accused Takeoff Killer Patrick Clark Released On $1 Million Bond

After being taken into custody last December, Patrick Clark, the accused shooter of Migos rapper Takeoff, has been released from Houston’s Harris County Jail.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Clark posted a $1 million bond on Wednesday. Though he can return home, he is required to wear a GPS tracker while on house arrest. He will also undergo drug testing and cannot own a firearm or use drugs and alcohol.

His next court date is scheduled for March 9, according to the outlet, with Clark facing a murder charge in the case. During the November shooting, he allegedly fired his gun following an argument at a Houston bowling alley.

An investigation into the shooting reportedly found that Clark’s rounds were the only ones to hit Takeoff, though others were also shooting at the time.

As HotNewHipHop previously reported, Clark’s lawyer recently revealed that their client could claim self-defense in the case. Clark’s lawyer implied that he only started shooting after someone else began shooting at him.

After originally having a $2 million bond, the accused shooter was able to have the amount reduced to $1 million despite concerns that he could be a flight risk. Prior to his arrest last month, he allegedly tried to flee the country.

J. Prince Shows Love To Takeoff On Livestream, Calls Out Haters

The investigation into Takeoff’s death continues as a suspect has been arrested. The Migos star fell victim to a shooting that occurred last November 1 in Houston. From the onset, a scandal erupted after a video of the tragedy reached social media and showed J. Prince Jr. walking past the rapper’s dead body. It was a highly-talked-about moment that social media users discussed far and wide, but the Prince family made it clear that they love Takeoff.

Still, the controversy continues to haunt Rap-A-Lot founder J. Prince. He recently jumped on Livestream and was confronted by viewers who left comments related to Takeoff.

“It brings joy to my heart to see the ones on here that are keeping the brother Takeoff’s name alive,” said Prince. “Y’all keep on keeping his name alive.”

However, Prince made it clear that he wouldn’t stand for any disrespect.

“I want all y’all to know, none of y’all love him no more than I do,” he added in the video. “So, take that sucka sh*t and take it to ya mammies.”

Meanwhile, Patrick Clark has been fighting for his freedom ever since he was arrested in connection to Takeoff’s murder.

Clark has denied that he is responsible for Takeoff’s death, but prosecutors say otherwise. Reports stated that upon his arrest, Clark was found with a large amount of cash and a ticket to Mexico. Prosecutors allege he is a flight risk, and his bond has been set at a staggering $1 million.

There have been repeated attempts to have the bail decreased, but a judge has held firm.

Accused Takeoff Shooter Could Claim Self-Defense In Murder Case

Takeoff tragically lost his life in November after suffering a fatal shooting at a Houston bowling alley and event center. Since then, 33-year-old Patrick Clark has been arrested and charged with the rapper’s murder.

After allegedly attempting to flee the United States, his legal team has revealed that Clark may pursue a self-defense claim in court.

Per the Associated Press, one of Clark’s lawyers implied during a recent hearing that he opened fire after another person initially shot at him. But police tell a different story, claiming that Clark was the first to fire a shot.

“We feel comfortable that when the time is right that Mr. Clark will have a valid and meritorious claim for self-defense,” the lawyer stated. She reportedly declined to explain further to reporters.

Clark was initially given a $2 million bond following his arrest earlier this month. But his lawyers attempted to lower it at a court hearing this past Wednesday.

A district judge acknowledged that Clark might be a flight risk. They also revealed that his “Google searches for fake tickets cause me a great deal of concern.”

Eventually, though, he agreed to lower the bond to $1 million with security measures expected to be put in place. Clark’s lawyer hopes to reduce it further to $300,000, a figure that could be more affordable for his family.

Takeoff was fatally shot in November and passed away at age 28. Quavo, his uncle and collaborator, was also at the scene during the shooting.
