Diddy is in the news for very different and more harrowing reasons these days, but fans may be surprised at his tech investments. Moreover, a new document went public on Wednesday (August 21) that detailed the nearly 100 investors that helped Elon Musk turn Twitter into X with his $44 billion purchase of the platform in 2022. The Bad Boy mogul represented himself through Sean Combs Capital LLC and joined others like Bill Ackman, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, and Saudi Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud. However, it’s unclear how much he invested in the social media site. Also, the public doesn’t know who currently holds shares in the company.

As for Diddy and Elon Musk’s relationship, they went to a Dave Chappelle show in 2022, so they have some amicable history together. Of course, they both have much bigger fish to fry these days, most notable the former’s various sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking accusations. As for this situation, the most recent update we received concerned preparations from his legal team to combat these lawsuits. The Combs camp has vehemently denied any and all allegations that have not been proven true.

Diddy aside, Elon Musk is instead dealing with the harsh political climate of today’s Twitter, and Plies has a theory as to what his solution may be. “I Can See Elon Shutting Down Twitter When Trump Continues To Fall Behind In The Polls,” he tweeted. “He Brought Twitter To Influence The Election. An Before He Accepts A Trump Loss I Believe He’ll Shut It All Down!!!!!” Many others share a similar sentiment (however unlikely), but we can’t really say much about it until Election Day rolls around in the United States.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent recently reacted to a bizarre Diddy story about a cartel member suing him for refusing to traffic minors. It’s a strange claim, especially since many wondered whether or not this would constitute as self-snitching. Regardless, it’s one of a lot of obstacles in his way, a process that has been wild to witness on Elon Musk’s platform. “Gangsta Boo”: Chopping Diddy With Lil TJay

“Gangsta Boo” is a collab track Ice Spice created with Lil Tjay for the deluxe edition of her debut extended play Like..? in 2023. RiotUSA and Mario Winans also worked together on the production side. The track features one of the most interestingly chopped Ice Spice samples to date. The track takes its slick melodic riff from P. Diddy and Ginuwine’s “I Need a Girl (Part Two),” released on a 2002 compilation album. RiotUSA ingeniously transforms the riff from its original laid-back and sultry R&B feel. Now, by removing notes here and there, the riff is both poppier and punchier, giving “Gangsta Boo” both a familiar and edgy sound.

“Actin A Smoochie”: Ice Spice Meets Tierra Whack

Tierra Whack, the rapper-singer who’s been performing since she was a teenager, dropped her R&B? EP in 2021. Ice Spice and RiotUSA apparently took a liking to the track “Cuttin Onions,” since they sampled it with little alteration for Spice’s “Actin A Smoochie.” The primary modification made was a tempo increase which also forced an upward pitch change.

“No Clarity”: Most Famous Flip

2021’s “No Clarty” contains probably the most famous Ice Spice samples we’ve covered thus far. This was the rapper’s second single, and it made great use of Zedd and Foxes’ “Clarity.” Back in 2012, you could hear this song everywhere. Glee, The Voice, and The X Factor also included renditions of the song. Even Korean popstars BLACKPINK covered the track back in 2019. RiotUSA and Spice utilized the track’s chorus, having it play pretty much through the entirety of “No Clarity.” But they switched things up by modulating the track and changing its speed fluidly. Warping a song called “Clarity” worked as a clever play on the title “No Clarity.” It worked even better as the perfect melodic accompaniment to Spice’s delivery.

“Gimme A Light”: A Nod To Sean Paul

Ice Spice’s newest track, “Gimme a Light,” is appropriately named. That’s because Sean Paul’s 2002 hit record “Gimme The Light” is its inspiration and basis. It uses the hook in Paul’s classic track to great effect, slowing it down and looping for Ice Spice’s own hook. The syllable stresses in the slowed Paul hook form a map that the entire song’s beat follows. “Gimme A Light” is set to be the first single off of the Bronx rapper’s debut studio LP, Y2K, slated for release next month by Capitol Records. This interesting installment in the growing catalog of Ice Spice samples foreshadows what she and RiotUSA have in store for us on the full-length album.

“Barbie World”: Bringing Back Aqua

This Ice Spice sample throws things way back to 1997, using Aqua’s famous track “Barbie Girl.” This was the Danish-Norwegian dance group’s biggest song, reaching number one in 10 countries and selling over 8 million copies worldwide. Throughout most of “Barbie World,” Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj exchange raps over Aqua’s chorus. There are a few momentary pauses, and the beginning of the song samples the iconic “you can say, ‘I’m always yours,’” line before Spice says “Stop playin’ with ’em Riot.”

Love is in the air for Diddy’s daughter and Chloe and Halle Bailey’s brother, as Chance Combs and Branson Bailey recently went to their high school prom together over the weekend. Moreover, the 18-year-old Branson posted a couple of pictures of them together at the event with the captioned “take a chance 2k24,” to which the 17-year-old Chance commented “i love youu” underneath with purple and white heart emojis. Branson’s superstar sisters and DDG commented on their wholesome photos as well, as this marks a step in their relationship. They previously announced their partnership back in February for a Valentine’s Day post, and Chance is looking forward to pursuing acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Furthermore, this was good news for the Combs family amid a very difficult and trying time for them all. Diddy faced a wave of sexual assault and sex trafficking accusations, manifesting in multiple lawsuits and other public claims. On the other hand, Branson is likely celebrating the Bailey family’s latest addition: his sister Halle’s son with DDG. Following a long string of pregnancy rumors and a lot of gossip-fueled speculation on their relationship, the world was finally able to respectfully and warmly congratulate them on their own terms in early January of this year. Kesha’s music career got off to a scorching start with her 2009 debut single “Tik Tok,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was ultimately one of the defining songs of its era. The opening lyric, though, hasn’t aged particularly well: “Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P. Diddy.”

Diddy, of course, is currently facing multiple sexual harassment/assault lawsuits. Kesha isn’t going to let that stop her from performing her biggest hit, but a change is in order, and Kesha made one during a surprise appearance at Coachella this past weekend.

Reneé Rapp brought Kesha out during her set and the two launched into “Tik Tok,” tweaking the opening lyric to have a totally opposite stance on Diddy: “Wake up in the morning like, ‘F*ck P. Diddy!’”

Kesha, meanwhile, has a lot to celebrate. Last year, she released Gag Order, which fulfilled her contractual obligations with Dr. Luke’s label, Kemosabe. Shortly after, Kesha and Dr. Luke, after years of allegations of sexual assault and defamation, ended their legal battle. Last month, Kesha celebrated by teasing an unreleased song and writing, “First day I’ve owned my voice in 19 years. Welcome.” On Instagram Live later, Kesha was seen wiping away happy tears as she previewed new music.

Diddy’s Attorney Called The Raids Of His Homes ‘A Gross Overuse Of Military-Level Force’

Following the raid of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes this past Monday (March 26), Combs’ team has broken their silence. Today (March 27), Combs’ attorney Aaron Dyer has issued a statement to HipHopDX, maintaining Combs’ innocent.

In the statement, Dyer called the raids “a gross overuse of military-level force” and decried how his children and employees were interrograted and handcuffed.

“This unprecedented ambush – paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence – leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits,” said Dyer.

Though Combs himself was not arrested, a man named Brendan Paul who was alleged in a suit to be Combs’ “drug mule,” was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and cocaine. At the time of writing, it is unclear if the arrest was in relation to Combs.

“Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.

Diddy’s Neighbor, Ridley Scott, Did Not Appear To Be Thrilled About The LA-Based Raid By Homeland Security

The ongoing Sean “Diddy” Combs situation has accelerated over the past 24 hours or so with Homeland Security raiding his LA and Miami homes, reportedly as part of a sex trafficking investigation. Other unfolding events have included Diddy’s jet being tracked in the Caribbean islands and the mogul reportedly unloading his stock in Revolt TV, which he co-founded in 2013.

The ruckus inside Diddy’s Holmby Hills neighborhood wasn’t limited to Diddy’s property, either. On Monday, law enforcement who descended upon the scene apparently blocked a chunk of the neighborhood, which prevented Napoleon and Alien director Ridley Scott from reaching his nearby home. TMZ has published multiple photos close to where the feds carried out the raid, and Scott is seen standing outside his vehicle and not looking terribly amused (and who could blame him?) by the inconvenience:

As police taped off the neighborhood street near Diddy’s $40 million mansion, the filmmaker was spotted stuck in traffic amid the chaos.

Ridley’s no different from the average looky-loo, though … in one pic he seems to be taking a closer look at the situation, but ya gotta imagine he’s also frustrated he can’t get where he’s trying to go.

Not only does Scott live in the neighborhood, but fellow nearby home owners include Kylie Jenner and Rod Stewart. The absolutely enormous Spelling Manor (of Aaron and Candy Spelling fame, although it has since changed hands) isn’t located too terribly far away, either.

As mentioned above, Diddy was not in Los Angeles at the time that feds conducted their raid of his property. Beyond the apparent legal troubles involved with this development, Diddy is also embroiled in multiple lawsuits that revolve around allegations of sexual assault/sexual harassment — accusations that are potentially connected to the reasons for law enforcement’s raids on his home. Throughout this legal saga, Diddy has maintained his innocence, although it’s clear that ongoing investigations are underway.

This time, it’s from a former male employee who made damning claims about drug-fueled parties with underage people and various claims of sexual assault against others. Moreover, these include Cuba Gooding Jr. and Yung Miami’s cousin, and on this last point, DJ Akademiks wasted no time. After hearing about the news, the media personality immediately took to Twitter to unleash a firestorm on the City Girl, or as he called her, “Caresha Maxwell.”

Furthermore, a lot of people also debated whether Quincy’s tattoo was real in the first place, or if this was all just for content on social media. Diddy’s Gang Assault Accuser Has “Public-Facing Identity,” His Legal Team Warns

According to reporter Meghann Cuniff, Diddy’s legal team just warned the court in a new legal filing in his gang assault case that his accuser has a “public-facing identity” that could be identified if named. Moreover, the Jane Doe claims that he and former Bad BoyEntertainment president Harve Pierre were among those who assaulted her as a group, along with accusations of trafficking. Sean Combs’ team wants to seal documents that could provide this information, which apparently came from his accuser’s latest filing. However, it’s important to note that the defense believes Jane Doe’s identity should come to light, but it looks like they don’t want to do so in this way.

Furthermore, it’s unclear what the alternative is, but when this case began in December, the accuser’s lawyers argued that she should remain anonymous throughout the whole process. This is because they believe the revelation of her identity “poses a risk of mental harm.” Diddy’s legal team argued that this shouldn’t be the case, but still requested the judge to conceal new documents “out of an abundance of caution,” as their filing could identify her. In addition, litigator Jonathan D. Davis alleged that Jane Doe’s team agrees with this sentiment.

Reportedly, Harve Pierre also echoed this sentiment via his attorneys. This added to a slew of other sexual assault lawsuits against the entertainment and business mogul.
