Ice Spice Reveals What It Was Like Being At Drake’s Apollo Show

Ice Spice recently talked about what it was like to be at Drake’s Apollo Theater show last weekend. While the two rappers’ public camaraderie fell under scrutiny for some alleged rifts, it seems things are cool. Moreover, in an interview with Hot 97, the “Bikini Bottom” MC spoke about her experience going to Drizzy’s concert.

“You were up at the Drake show at the Apollo,” Ebro said. “From New York, seeing him create that at the Apollo, what was that like for you, that scene? And did he invite you up?”

“Yeah, he did,” Ice Spice replied. “It was a vibe, I’m not gonna lie. The whole crowd was, like, mostly influencers and, like, celebrities. So it was, like, a good vibe. Nobody was too fanned out, everybody was just focused on the show, right? It was crazy, it was so intimate, I loved it. He was performing all his hits, you know. It was a vibe.

“How often do you guys get to speak?” Ebro asked. “I don’t know if he actually took a shot at you, or you just embraced what people were saying.”

“He didn’t, we spoke about it,” she replied. “He said that was not about me.”

“But you embraced it on social media, like, yo, ‘At least I’m a ten, though,’ or something,” the host inquired.

“Yeah, and he also appreciated that too, you know?” the MC responded. “Just being cool about it, not being no weirdo… We just linked up when my s**t dropped, when Like..? dropped. He was in the city already, I guess for, like, his shows or whatever. We ended up linking up, and we was just chatting. Like, we Gucci, bro.”

“That’s good, it’s moving slow with you, I like that,” Ebro joked, to which Spice replied “Stop it.”

NYPD Release Their Footage From Drake’s Apollo Concert

The New York Police Department (NYPD) just released footage they took of Drake’s shows at the Apollo Theater. Moreover, the footage centers of the security, organization, and general workflow behind the show. While hundreds were in awe of one of the 6 God’s first performances in a while, the efforts of hundreds behind-the-scenes can’t be forgotten.

Furthermore, the video opens with a shot of the Apollo Theater from the outside, panning out of a police officer’s shirt with “NYPD Community Affairs” on the back. Throughout the first few clips, you can hear fans screaming and clapping for the OVO kingpin. Also, they include a time-lapse of police arriving, setting up barricades, and welcoming concert-goers into the venue.

Then, the whole video reverses and the timeline rewinds to a couple of days before the two scheduled shows sponsored by SiriusXM. Later, the video shows a room full of police as an officer gives instructions on the events.

“All right, everybody, so you know what we got coming up,” the officer began. “We got two nights of Drake, one of the most well-known artists in the world. It’s going to bring out a lot of people and a lot of talents. The people are coming and going for this concert, and the artists expect to be safe. So, the byline is we’re going to do what we do best: we’re going to keep people safe.

“When you go out there, make sure you take your post,” he continued. “Make sure you be vigilant, but also be community-friendly and make sure people know how to get where they’re going safely and get out of there safely. This is our chance to shine as well as the artist, right? They in Harlem, they in the 28th Precinct, and this is what we do, right? So let’s have a good night, let’s have a safe night, and again, if anybody need anything, let me know.

“This is why people feel comfortable coming to New York City for major events,” the video concludes. “Because they have confidence in you. Now let’s get ready for the next one.”

Throughout the video, you can hear Marvin Gaye’s classic “Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler).” Also, the video shows clips of the show, people coming in, police officers assisting civilians, and generally keeping the peace.

Drake Brings Out 21 Savage & Dipset At Apollo Theater

Drake invited 21 Savage and Dipset to perform alongside him at his Apollo Theater show last Saturday (January 21). While he performed one of two scheduled shows at the iconic Harlem theater, he already set the bar quite high. Also, new concert footage follows rumors of a summer tour with him and 21 Savage, though that’s still unconfirmed officially.

Still, any performance between OVO and Slaughter Gang is bound to turn heads. Both rappers became an almost iconic duo last year with the release of their collaborative album, Her Loss. As 21 entered the stage, the crowd helped them sing their hit “Rich Flex.” Moreover, a whole theater asked 21 if he could do something for them.

Meanwhile, Dipset’s appearance excited many, both in the crowd, and on social media. Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freeky Zeeky performed “I Really Mean It,” “Dipset Anthem,” and “We Fly High (Ballin’)” together. The “Nice For What” artist even wore Cam’ron’s iconic pink fur coat and hat.

“These guys right here from Harlem made us dress different, talk different, walk different, rap different — all the way in Canada,” he said.

However, some attentive Drake listeners might not be surprised by the link-up. In fact, his previous single “Diplomatic Immunity” might not be directly about the group, but it’s a reference nonetheless. Also, he’s not part of Dipset, but Drake recently gave Fabulous his flowers, another New York rapper of a similar era.

On the other hand, 21 Savage helped Drizzy perform “Privileged Rappers,” “Spin Bout You,” “Jimmy Cooks,” and “Knife Talk” as well. Other classics he performed at his show include “Marvin’s Room,” “Best I Ever Had,” “Legend,” “Know Yourself,” and many more. In fact, he performed about 41 songs during his set. With one more show scheduled for this Sunday (January 22), Drake’s likely to have another fantastic performance in the books.

Ice Spice Says She & Drake Are “Cool”

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Ice Spice said that she and Drake are “cool.” Moreover, an interest in said relationship comes from the two rappers’ curious history together. Last time they crossed over was when Drake seemingly dissed the Bronx MC on his Her Loss cut, “BackOutsideBoyz.”

Furthermore, NYT asked the “Munch” artist about Drake in their conversation together.

“We’re cool,” she expressed. “We spoke after that a couple times and we’re good. There’s no beef.”

Moreover, lines like “She a ten trying to rap, it’s good on mute” on “BackOutsideBoyz” pointed fans toward a potential Ice Spice diss. The track appeared on the 6 God’s collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. Meanwhile, Spice went viral last year with some huge hits, and the two were spotted together.

However, things got a bit murky from there. After Drake unfollowed Ice Spice on Instagram, many wondered what could’ve gone down between them. Still, she had a cheeky Twitter response to his presumed diss that fans took a liking to.

“At least ima 10,” she wrote with shrugging and laughing emojis.

What’s more is that Spice has bigger fish to fry these days. Moreover, she just dropped her debut project, the Like…? EP, to much buzz and acclaim. Also, it features her biggest hits like “Bikini Bottom” and her hotly anticipated cut with Lil Tjay, “Gangsta Boo.” Regardless of any viral moments or speculative industry hearsay, she’s definitely setting up big things for herself in 2023.

Meanwhile, the “Nice For What” star built up some hype of his own this week. For example, rumors swirled recently around him and 21 Savage going on a summer tour this year. While they’ve made no official announcements, some alleged ticketing service leaks suggest they’re hitting the road. Even as Drake throws rumored subs at Ice Spice and other rappers, his star power just doesn’t fizzle out.

Still, what do you think about Ice Spice and Drake being “cool” now? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more reconciled issues and movements in the game.

Drake & 21 Savage Reportedly Going On Summer Tour, “It’s All A Blur”

Drake and 21 Savage will reportedly go on a summer tour together, allegedly titled “It’s All A Blur.” Moreover, the alleged leaks came from Twitter account OnThinIce, which is know to leak similar information. The two rappers had an incredible 2022 together, and rumors of a tour followed them since they dropped their album together.

Furthermore, Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss was one of last year’s most celebrated and discussed hip-hop albums. As such, these new rumors of a tour should be sending fans over the moon. However, this is still unconfirmed information circling in the social media rounds. If we’re to entertain these thoughts, audiences can expect a run from at least late May to mid-July.

Moreover, the cities listed by the leaks include Chicago, Detroit, Glendale, Foxborough, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Miami, Atlanta, Inglewood, Las Vegas, and more. The first show is reportedly scheduled for May 26th at Chicago’s Grand Chapiteau at Solider Field. Later, the tour will seemingly end July 16th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Meanwhile, many fans are somewhat disappointed with these leaks. “WHERE TF ARE THE REST OF THE DATES,” one user wrote. However, we have to consider that these are still rumors at the moment. If they really are going on tour, an official announcement should be coming soon. After all, it’s going to be tough to get tickets to see the 6 God, who just shut it down at the Apollo Theater.

Even though these rumors may end up being just that, there’s still plenty of promo underway for these two. Drake recently dropped his video for “Jumbotron S**t Poppin,” whereas 21 Savage had some standout live performances recently as well. However, he most recently made waves for a heated argument. During a Clubhouse conversation, 21 Savage popped off on a user over a discussion on murder rates in different cities.
