Lil Yachty Supposedly Dissed Lil Uzi Vert On New Song Debuted On OVO Sound

It’s been a hectic day for alleged disses, subliminals, and a whole lot of speculative fan theories. Not only do we have Drake’s new album For All The Dogs to digest, but his OVO Sound radio show also added to this pile of rumors. Moreover, Lil Yachty premiered a new, as-of-yet unreleased song on the platform, which many fans think contains a diss towards Lil Uzi Vert. It’s quite the innocuous reference and one that we can’t really confirm, but die-hards still put two and two together. What’s more is that it’s entirely possible that he responded to all these claims by calling cap on them via social media just hours after the station played the song.

“Do the right thing like you’re friends with Mookie,” Lil Yachty raps over a mellow, slow-paced beat. “No matter how bad they want the collab, I ain’t friends with [muted].” Of course, since he muted the intended mention, we might never know for sure who Lil Boat referenced. However, since he and Lil Uzi Vert don’t have a collab with each other (excluding a remix for HoodRich Pablo Juan), this is an understandable assumption. In addition, there’s the fact that they came up in a similar time and have fan crossover, as they were on the same legendary XXL Freshman Cypher in 2016.

Lil Yachty Seems To Suggest He Isn’t Friends With Lil Uzi Vert

Still, there are a lot of different people that Lil Yachty could’ve referred to with this bar completing the “Mookie” rhyme scheme. When you go through them, though (Boosie Badazz, Toosii, etc.), they don’t line up as logically. Regardless, this isn’t even really a diss if you think about it; do we expect every rapper ever to get along or hate each other and not just coexist together? The 26-year-old even seemed to address this with a recent tweet on Friday morning (October 6).

Drake & J. Cole Aim For The Head On “First Person Shooter”

Drake and J. Cole are coming for the neck on their new collaboration, “First Person Shooter.” While the Toronto-born rapper has been teasing the release of For All The Dogs, it was clear that his intention was to deliver an undeniable body of work. Sure, it’s only been a few hours since it dropped but there are already a handful of highlights that have the timeline buzzing. One of which happens to be his long-awaited collaboration with J. Cole, “First Person Shooter.”

Produced by Vinylz, Boi-1da, OZ, Tay Keith, Coleman, FNZ, Drake and J. Cole showcase their lyrical prowess in their latest collaboration together. The high-octane production leads with a warped vocal sample while J. Cole kicks off with a few bars before The Boy enters. The futuristic and energetic production allows the two rappers to showcase their vivacity. It’s a hard, playful banger that adds to the impressive list of collaborations that they’ve accumulated over the years.

Drake & J. Cole Do It Again

From the sounds of it, Drake and Cole locked in this collaboration at the last minute. While Drake confirmed during Table Of One that J Cole just submitted his verse for the album, the Fayetteville MC dishes some bars addressing NBA Youngboy. “N***as so thirsty to put me in beef/ Dissectin’ my words and start lookin’ too deep/ I look at the tweets and start suckin’ my teeth/ I’m lettin’ it rock ’cause I love the mystique,” he raps. “I still wanna get me a song with YB/ Can’t trust everything that you saw on IG/ Just know if I diss you, I made sure you know that I hit you like I’m on your caller ID.”

Meanwhile, Drake reiterates his GOAT status as he gains one more Billboard record that pushes him closer to Michael Jackson. Towards the end of the record, the rapper states, “N***as talkin’ ‘bout when it’s gon’ be repeated/ What the f**k, bro? I’m one away from Michael, n***a, beat it.” Earlier this week, Billboard reported that Drake is one #1 single away from tying Michael Jackson for the most amount of chart-topping hits on the Hot 100. Check out “First Person Shooter” above.

Quotable Lyrics
The one that they call when they shit ain’t connectin’ no more, feel like I got a job in IT
Rhymin’ with me is the biggest mistake
The Spider-Man meme is me lookin’ at Drake
It’s like we recruited your homies to beat demon deacons, we got ’em attending a wake

Drake Releases “For All The Dogs” Ft. J. Cole, SZA, Bad Bunny & More

After much anticipation, Drake came through with his latest album, For All The Dogs. Arriving at the tail end of his It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage, the Canadian rapper’s kept fans on their toes since announcing the project earlier this year. For All The Dogs boasts an impressive 23 songs in total with a group of impeccable collaborators. Unfortunately, Nicki Minaj doesn’t appear on the project but he does bring out J. Cole, 21 Savage, Bad Bunny, SZA (who appears twice), Chief Keef, and more for the project.

Overall, the album’s credit boasts some impressive names. Yeat, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown, and Lil Yachty all join Drake across the tracklist. However, just before hosting Table For One on Thursday night, the rapper unveiled the official credits for the project which show Kevin Durant served as the A&R on For All The Dogs. With the rapper set to perform in Toronto tonight (Oct. 6) and tomorrow (Oct. 7), we can imagine that Drake intends to perform a handful of these songs for the first time today. Hopefully, he also debuts “8 AM In Charlotte” live, which he premiered on Thursday.

Drake’s Prolific Run Continues

For All The Dogs follows an impeccable run by Drake. Kicking off with 2021’s Certified Lover Boy, he followed up in summer of 2022 with the release of Honestly, Nevermind, a house-influenced body of work that certainly divided fans. However, he slid through in the final quarter of 2022 with another body of work, Her Loss, alongside his tourmate, 21 Savage.

The album was initially supposed to be a companion piece to his poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything, which he released earlier this year. However, between the string of features and singles he’s delivered over the months, he kept fans on the edge of their seats awaiting the new project. Plus, he kept fans up to speed on its release throughout his latest tour. Press play on For All The Dogs above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Drake Reposts Fan Grabbing His Neck, Naomi Sharon Announces OVO Sound Debut

Earlier this week, a clip of Drake making his way through the crowd at one of his shows circulated, as one fan opted for far more than a high-five. The attendee grabbed the performer’s neck, prompting him to look pretty shocked, though he laughed it off soon after. The artist recently shared a screen grab from the exact moment of the neck grab, simply captioning it “Dialed In.”

The incident took place during one of his stops on his “It’s All A Blur” tour alongside 21 Savage. The artists have been performing around the U.S. and Canada since the beginning of July, and are scheduled to continue into October. Drake’s also continued to tease his new album For All The Dogs for some time now. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the drop, however, an official release date has unfortunately not yet been announced.

Drake Says He’s “Dialed In”

Fans thought For All The Dogs would be dropping on August 25, as Amazon Music had previously announced that release date. For obvious reasons, they were disappointed when the day came and went with no new Drake. “It’s not going to be that much longer,” he told a crowd the next day. “Trust me, you know I got shows every night. But I promise you, For All The Dogs is on the way. If you’ve ever loved anything I’ve ever done in the past, I promise you, this album will be for you.”

With that being said, Drake’s newest OVO Sound signee just recently announced her debut album on the label. Naomi Sharon shared a new music video for “Definition of Love” a couple of days ago, and it looks like there’s more to come. The new LP is called Obsidian, and is expected to arrive later this year. The performer gave some insight to the title in a press release. “Obsidian is a protective stone that shields against negative energy,” she explained. “Given its sharpness, the stone is considered to pierce into darkness to reveal the truth itself. I called this album Obsidian as it’s about rebirth, confrontation and healing.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Drake and Naomi Sharon.

Drake Teases Collaboration With J Hus

It looks like we could be receiving new music from Drake imminently. With the rapper less than a month away from the launch of the It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage, the Canadian star has hinted at the release of some new music. Some feel like it could be coming in the form of Scary Hours 3, especially after the release “Search And Rescue” and the official debut of “At The Gates” ft. Lil Uzi Vert. However, he hasn’t indicated if we’d have any new music for the summer.

Fortunately, it appears that he could be readying an epic feature run this summer, beginning with a new collaboration alongside J Hus. At least, that’s what he led fans to believe on Wednesday night. The Canadian rapper’s support for the British-Gambian star has been well documented, as he brought Hus out on stage on the Assassination Vacation tour immediately after his release from jail. However, with J Hus in album mode, Drake suggested that he and the UK rapper have some heat dropping tonight.

Drake Teases J Hus Collaboration

Rumors of their collaborations began to bubble after J Hus debuted a snippet of the vibrant Afroswing bop on his Instagram page this week. However, shortly after, Drake shared the snippet on his Instagram Story, writing, “@theuglygram trouble is there tmrw.” It didn’t take long for the rumors to begin flying online that Drake would appear on the record rumored to be titled “Who Told You.” Although he hasn’t confirmed whether that’s the case, it wouldn’t be surprising if the two linked up for the 2023 song of the summer.

In the past few weeks, J Hus has been gearing up for the release of his upcoming project, which fans believe will be titled Don’t Say Militancy. Earlier this year, Hus unveiled his first single in four years, “It’s Crazy.” In 2019, he released his project, Big Conspiracy, boasting features with Burna Boy and Koffee. If rumors of his Drake collaboration are true, then we could certainly expect J Hus to be everywhere this summer. Check out Drake’s post above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below.

Who Is ILoveMakonnen? All About The “Tuesday” Hitmaker

When we speak of contemporary artists who have carved their distinctive niche in the music industry, ILoveMakonnen stands tall as an archetype. Born as Makonnen Sheran in Los Angeles, California, his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, when he was a teen. Makonnen has honed a unique sound that blends the boundaries of hip-hop, R&B, and indie music.

ILoveMakonnen shot to prominence in 2014 when Drake remixed his song “Tuesday,” which subsequently skyrocketed to the top of the charts, earning him a Grammy nomination. This collaboration not only amplified ILoveMakonnen’s profile but also solidified his reputation as a compelling artist in the modern music landscape.

A Mounting Career

After his explosive entrance into the mainstream, ILoveMakonnen made a crucial move. He signed with OVO Sound in 2014, Drake’s label, demonstrating his savvy readiness to align himself with influential music entities. However, he eventually left the label, citing creative differences. He accused the team of delaying his album.

Additionally, ILoveMakonnen has never been an artist to stay in one lane. His music constantly evolves, exploring diverse sonic landscapes and lyrical themes. He is open about his struggles with mental health, contributing to the broader conversation about these issues in the music industry. His honesty, both in his music and his public persona, has earned him a dedicated fanbase.

Noteworthy Collaborations

Outside of his solo work, ILoveMakonnen has made a name for himself through notable collaborations. He’s worked with artists ranging from Gucci Mane to Fall Out Boy, proving his versatility and ability to meld with various music styles. These collaborations not only expand his musical repertoire but also contribute to his financial success.

On the business front, ILoveMakonnen has notched an impressive array of deals and ventures. His collaborations with brands like Red Bull and Alexander Wang highlight his appeal beyond music, marking him as a cultural influencer. These partnerships add another income stream, demonstrating his understanding of the entertainment business’s multi-dimensional nature.

In 2023, ILoveMakonnen continues to make waves, maintaining a robust presence in the music scene while pursuing new business endeavors. From his self-released music on Myspace to his Grammy nomination and beyond, ILoveMakonnen’s story is a study of staying true to oneself in the face of fame.

Challenging Hip Hop Norms

But beyond his career milestones, it’s essential to recognize ILoveMakonnen as a trailblazer in terms of representation. He publicly came out as gay in 2017, a courageous step in a genre that has often struggled with homophobia. His openness about his sexuality has paved the way for greater inclusivity in the hip-hop community.

Drake Joins PartyNextDoor On Stage In Toronto & Confirms “PND 4”

It’s been a few summers without new music from PartyNextDoor but rest assured, his new album is on the way. The Canadian R&B star returned to History Nightclub in Toronto for his homecoming show, which led to a Drake cameo. The OVO Boss sang PND’s praises during a brief freestyle while he was on stage. “I’m going on tour but Party droppin’ PND 4,” he sang to the audience to applause. Between speculation of Scary Hours 3 and a new PND project, it sounds like the OVO clique will hold us down for the summer.

PartyNextDoor has been ramping up the anticipation for his forthcoming album for a few months now. In late 2022, he popped up with the release of OG Parker for “No Fuss.” Then, he joined forces with Diddy for “Sex In A Porsche,” leading to the release of his first solo single since 2020, “Old Friends.” Fans have been demanding the album’s release, which Party further hinted at on Instagram ahead of his homecoming concert last night. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer for PND4.

Drake Confirms “PND 4”

As they performed together for the first time in ages, Drake ensured that he gave PartyNextDoor his flowers on stage in front of their hometown. “First of all, can I just say on behalf of everybody in this room, can you come home more, please? Please!” Drake began. “I would not be the artist I am if it wasn’t for you. And that’s not like even some like I get on stage with people and I’m nice sometimes but this is really actually, like, my favorite artist in the world and I love this guy.”

Hopefully, we’ll be getting a new collaboration from the two of them this summer. On stage, Drake proclaimed that he already heard PND 4 in its entirety, adding that it was going to be “one of those summers.” PND released his last project, PartyMobile in 2020, featuring singles like “Loyal” ft. Drake and “Believe It” ft. Rihanna. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates surrounding PartyNextDoor’s upcoming album. Check out Drake’s cameo at PartyNextDoor’s concert above.
