Russ Admits He’s Too Old To Care About J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar’s Beef

Russ joked that he’s too old to be picking sides in J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar’s ongoing feud when a fan asked for his opinion on Twitter, on Friday. The 31-year-old simply responded to the prompt with his age. The remark comes after Cole finally responded to Lamar with his surprise mixtape, Might Delete Later.

Not getting involved went over well with Russ’ fans on the site. “Most valid sh*t I’ve ever heard,” one user replied. Another asked: “Why do so many grown men give a damn about other grown men’s personal business? The funny part is this is most likely a PR stunt and it’s working.”

Cole’s new mixtape has been trending on social media for its closing track, “7 Minute Drill,” on which he addresses Kendrick Lamar, who dissed him on the song, “Like That.” Throughout the lyrics, Cole routinely praises Lamar before bringing criticism. “Your first sh*t was classic, your last sh*t was tragic/ Your second sh*t put n****s to sleep, but they gassed it/ Your third sh*t was massive and that was your prime/ I was trailin’ right behind and I just now hit mine,” he raps. At another point, he compares himself to Wesley Snipes’ character Nino in New Jack City, implying he doesn’t want to go against Lamar, but will do so regardless. Check out Russ’ brief response to the situation below.

Russ Reacts To J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

The beef started when Lamar took issue with Cole naming the two of them, along with Drake, the “Big 3” of hip-hop. Appearing on Metro Boomin and Future’s new album, We Don’t Trust You, Lamar rapped that he’s in a league of his own. Be on the lookout for further updates on Russ on HotNewHipHop.

50 Cent Praises Old Fan Rocking Out At His UK Show: Watch

50 Cent is a legendary rapper, and though many young fans may see him as a dinosaur today, he’s definitely not that old. However, that doesn’t really have any bearing on his music: it’s endured and resonated in such a massive way that even the youngest and oldest of those who come across him can become fans. What’s more is that Fif loves to show these fans love, because they continue to prove to him that his art is not only timeless, but wide-reaching. It’s an impact that he celebrates and loves to highlight, and his most recent receiver of said love was an old lady who went to his recent UK show. It was at the Queens legend’s last of two concerts at the World Resorts Arena in Birmingham during a performance of his song “Ayo Technology” off of his album Curtis.

Moreover, the woman in question threw her hand up and down among the crowd in the hilarious clip, looking cool, collected, but nonetheless moved by the music. 50 Cent reposted this video on Instagram on Tuesday (November 14), and fans had a good laugh in the comments as well as admiration for her. “The coolest person at my show tonight by far,” he captioned the video. “She was rocking wit me. Birmingham second show. LOL.”

Kid Cudi Reflects On Aging: “I’ma Be A Happy, Silly Dude ‘Til I’m Old & Grey”

Kid Cudi recently reflected on his experience with getting older after fans on Twitter trolled him for making a joke about the McDonald’s Grimace Shake. The 39-year-old has tweeted about having “poopy pants for 24hrs” after ordering the drink.

Fans let him have it in response. “I had to check who tweeted this no way I just read ‘poopy pants,’” one replied. Another wrote: “No offense, but that drink is not meant to be consumed by people over 25.”

Cudi fired back at one user, who has since deleted his tweet, writing: “Soooo im suppose to like, lose my childlike spirit becuz im almost 40?? Maybe thatll be ur sad fate my friend, but ima be a happy silly dude til im old and grey.” In another message, he asked fans to stop being so negative: “I see people dont get my humor and thats ok but dont be an asshole on here cuz im being myself. I dont care what anyone thinks, ima always be myself. My silly goofy self. And my friends and family love me for it.”

Cudi further wrote: “As u get older life sucks ur soul from u bit by bit and u lose that light u had inside when u were a kid. Ive always fought to preserve this spirit becuz I knew I didnt want to lose it.”

Kid Cudi Discusses His Age

Being trolled by fans on Twitter isn’t the only problem Kid Cudi has had as of late. He also had to cancel his Moon Man’s Landing festival in Cleveland this summer, last week. He explained in a statement that “the city wouldnt approve it. And instead of canceling the whole thing I decided to have it at the arena because I still wanted to bring something cool to the city, but I know u guys werent feelin it.”

Jermaine Dupri Claps Back At Hater Calling Him Old

Jermaine Dupri just wanted to post a video with him and Usher in peace, but it seems that Instagram trolls won’t let him get away that easy. Moreover, a hater took to the comments section of his video to remark on his old age in a pretty blunt fashion. As far as what the video showed, it was a simple video of Jermaine walking along with Usher and a crew of people, presumably after one of the latter’s Las Vegas residency shows. “Jd like 65,” the troll wrote in the comments section. “He should be sleeping.”

Furthermore, the North Carolina artist replied to that comment in a similarly simple but sincere way. “65!!!” the “Money Ain’t A Thang” star retorted indignantly. “You got me f***ed up!” Not only is Dupri still active in the music game, but he just released a hotly anticipated project. His collab tape with Curren$y, For Motivational Use Only, Vol. 1, released earlier in April, boasting features from the likes of T.I. and 2 Chainz. As such, it’s understandable that JD would be pretty taken aback by people bringing up his age when he’s still on his grind. For the record, Jermaine Dupri is 50.

Jermaine Dupri Isn’t Here For The Hate

Regardless, Jermaine has bigger fish to fry when it comes to beef- or, at least, he had. Last year, he got into a heated dispute with Bow Wow over who deserves more credit in his career’s evolution. Eventually, things got pretty sour, with them going back and forth on social media and dragging each other’s name through the mud. However, Bow Wow recently explained how Nelly helped mend their feud and put the past behind them. Ultimately, it came down to both men, of different generations and priorities, coming to understand each other more as they both entered a reflective, veteran status in the game.

Meanwhile, that’s not the only piece of gossip that circled in the hip-hop world about Dupri recently. Yung Joc compared him to Diddy last March, stating that the latter is more talented when it comes to knowing what’s “hot.” Wherever you fall on that debate, a potential Verzuz battle between the two, which JD said is in development, would make for quite the matchup. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Jermaine Dupri.

Mac Miller Bus Freestyle From His Early Days Resurfaces

While some rappers unfortunately did not live to see the full fruits of their labor, they live on through their music, fandoms, and family. An old video of a very young Mac Miller spitting a freestyle on a bus recently resurfaced on the Internet. Moreover, it’s incredibly heartwarming to see the late artist having fun with his colleagues. In fact, there’s not even a beat, just one of Mac’s friends beatboxing. Also, you can tell this is incredibly early into his artistic journey, as he’s still got a full head of hair and an even more youthful demeanor than what he broke onto the scene with.

“I ain’t God, but you can call me Hova,” the Pittsburgh legend raps in the new clip. “In the Ranger Rover, never sober, I don’t even know ’cause you know I am a flower.” It’s a short but sweet reminder of Miller’s early style and the fun-loving attitude he brought into even his most pained music. Since his tragic passing in 2018, many fans noticed the deeper themes behind his spunkiest material. While projects like Swimming and Circles certainly wore them on its sleeve, this video shows Mac still finding his voice before looking inward.

Mac Miller’s Resurfaced Bus Freestyle

Regardless, it’s a treat for fans to see. Fans and fellow musicians alike continue to celebrate his legacy, positive impact, and definitive artistic voice. For example, Earl Sweatshirt took to Twitter to express that he misses Mac a couple of months ago. Even with some posthumous releases giving fans new ways to appreciate the artist, his energy and presence feels irreplaceable. Earl’s tweet prompted many to remember some of the collaborators’ best work, as other tribute moments call us back to our favorite Mac moments.

Meanwhile, other artists have spoken on how his vocal struggles with addiction and strides to turn his life around inspired them. Whether it’s French Montana or Demi Lovato, the late 26-year-old touched many hearts in the industry with his experiences. After they resulted in tragedy, his memory and journey became just as crucial to discuss as the issues he was tackling head-on. Check out the freestyle above and let us know your favorite Mac Miller, song, album, or moment in the comments.
