Lauren London, the partner of late rapper Nipsey Hussle, continues to honor his legacy and keep his name alive. Recent reports reveal that the ATL star will receive a substantial settlement of $6 million on behalf of their son, Kross, and also be granted 50% ownership of Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing Company. The Marathon Continues Nipsey […]
Nipsey Hussle’s legacy will never fade, and though recent developments when it comes to his catalog seem disheartening, hopefully they can resolve to honor the respect he showed other artists. Moreover, in a legal battle concerning songwriting credit and royalties, his brother faces accusations of mishandling the whole ordeal. For those unaware, the rapper’s family member is in control of his estate, which means he has a say in his discography. In this specific case. Tasleema Yasin motioned to receive profit shares of the song “Hussle & Motivate” shortly after Nip’s passing in 2019, alleging that she helped write it three years prior. Also, she claimed to additionally perform an “ascending four-note vocal phrase featured throughout the song’s runtime, as well as a countermelody in [her] higher register featured prominently during the song’s chorus.” Both parties previously indicated that they reached an agreement last year.
However, in new court documents reportedly obtained by Radar Online, Yasin apparently accused Nipsey Hussle’s brother of not following up on their settlement. “Regrettably, the opposing party has thus far delayed the fulfillment of their obligations under the contract,” the lawsuit allegedly reads. “They are in breach of its terms. Hence, Yasin is under no ongoing obligation to refrain from submitting her claims against the aforementioned parties and estate. The original agreement with the Estate is deemed void due to multiple breaches. Ms. Yasin no longer seeks enforcement of this breached agreement. Instead, she is seeking damages as a result of these breaches and wishes to negotiate a new agreement that will protect her interests moving forward.
Furthermore, Yasin claimed that Nipsey Hussle’s brother attacked her with “profanity, insults and derogatory language.” In addition, she alleged that he used “pressure tactics such as threats, intimidation, verbal abuse, insults, gaslighting.” Back in April of this year, the Los Angeles MC’s estate dodged Yasin’s $5 million lawsuit over this. While she initially filed this in December of last year, a judge dismissed it when she didn’t respond to a court order to explain why authorities should hear her out. “The file in this case lacks the papers that would show it is being timely prosecuted, as reflected below,” Judge Stephen V. Wilson ruled. “Accordingly, the Court, on its own motion, hereby orders plaintiff(s) to show cause in writing no later than April 4, 2023 why this action should not be dismissed as to all remaining defendants, for lack of prosecution.
Regardless of all this conflict, the Crenshaw legend still serves as a model of inspiration and praise. Hopefully this reopening of this matter results in proper compensation and preservation of these artistic integrities. If not, we could be in for a nasty redo. Last year an ongoing custody battle found the mother of Nipsey Hussle’s daughter filing to regain custody of her child and control of her estate. The estate claimed she admitted to issues with substance abuse and alcohol back in 2019. The Probate Investigator recommended that Tanisha not be appointed guardian due to alleged issues with alcohol, being unemployed at the time and having no stable housing. Now Nipsey’s family has finally been awarded control of the estate.
Radar Online reports:
Nipsey Hussle’s mother, brother, and sister scored a massive victory in court against his ex-girlfriend Tanisha Foster — with a judge ruling the family will control the estate for the late rapper’s daughter.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, a hearing was held this week in the never-ending war between Nipsey’s family and Tanisha over 14-year-old Emani.
The judge ruled that Nipsey’s mom Angelique, his brother Sam, and sister Samantha will be co-guardians over Emani’s finances, including her $2 million+ inheritance.
Nipsey was murdered on March 31, 2019. He left behind Emani, and a son named Kross, who he had with his girlfriend Lauren London. The only beneficiaries of the musician’s estate were his two children.
Nipsey’s brother Sam was selected to manage the rapper’s estate which was valued at $4 million. Sam believes the estate will bring in another $4.7 million annually.
Following his death, Nipsey’s mom Angelique Smith, his brother Sam, and sister Samantha were appointed physical custody of Emani. The family claimed Tanisha was not fit to take care of the child.
In August 2021, Nipsey’s family filed a petition to be appointed guardians of Emani’s estate, which would allow them to control her inheritance and make investments with her money.
In their petition, the family argued, “Appointing Petitioners as the Guardians of Emani’s Estate will allow Petitioners to invest Emani’s share of the expected inheritance from her father’s estate.”
“Petitioners will manage Emani’s assets prudently and in Emani’s best interests until she reaches 18 years old,” the filing read.
Tanisha objected to the petition. She demanded the court deny the request and allow her to take over control of Emani’s estate – and regain custody.
In her filing, Tanisha claimed at the time of his death, Nipsey and her were on good terms. She said they shared custody, but Nispey took care of their bills because of his “far superior economic powers.”
Tanisha said Nipsey never tried to take legal custody of Emani from her during his lifetime. She claimed the rapper had been paying for her apartment before his death — but his family cut her off after his murder.
Nipsey’s ex admitted she entered into an agreement to allow the musician’s family to have custody of Emani in 2019. However, she said her “motivation for doing so was” due to her “financial limitations” at the time.
Lauren London recently shared a heartfelt perspective on her journey of coping with the loss of her beloved boyfriend and the father of her children, Nipsey Hussle. West Coast hip-hop has some of the best and brightest superstars. From Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, there are so many icons in this corner of the rap community. One name that many are familiar with is The Game. The prolific artist has been releasing music since the early 2000s and has some solid records under his belt. He has The Documentary, The R.E.D. Album, and plenty more that are more than respectable. However, there are some who do not consider him to be a pioneer of this sub-genre of rap.
The other artists listed above are considered more memorable and influential by a great deal to a decent amount of listeners. However, The Game has always felt that he belongs in the upper echelon. He has even said that he is a better rapper than Eminem to which “The Real Slim Shady” clapped back at him on his last song “Realest.” All of the controversial statements have fallen on deaf ears as people continue to discredit him.
More fans are now taking issue with a new claim from The Game. At a recent performance, he gave a little history lesson to the crowd about how Kendrick Lamar and Nipsey Hussle got their careers going. In the video from thehiphopwolf, The Game flexes his influence and the mark he has left on the rap game. In his speech, he takes credit for putting people onto the aforementioned artists. He says, “I took Nipsey’s CD, put it in my pocket. I took Kendrick on tour when Kendrick was Jay Rock’s hype man.” He concludes his message, by stating, “I put the west on my back. So when n***** say ‘I’m him,’ no n****, I’m him.” Many fans think he is being delusional with one person saying, “Game act like E40, Too Short, Cube & Snoop haven’t existed while he was putting albums out lol these dudes BEEN had the west on their back.” However, The Game’s ego may be too big for him to admit that.
What are your initial thoughts on The Game proclaiming that he has been carrying the West Coast rap scene on his back? Do you think these comments are valid or outlandish? Is The Game a top-five West Coast rapper? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around The Game, as well as the rest of the music world.

Dave East remains a beast on the mic. Although the past few years of his career has shown him expanding well-beyond music, his efforts in fashion and television haven’t derailed his career in any capacity. He’s still dishing bars and feeding heat to the masses. However, it feels like he’s been returing to the core of his come-up in recent times. Following a slew of freestyles, including his take on Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock,” he returned this week with a new single titled, “Clarity Part 2.”
The new record serves as a spiritual successor to his collaboration with the late Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux. The record marked one of their first joint efforts together and continued to rank high in their respective discographies. In the sequel, Dave East comes through with even more gems, flexing his sharp flow and even sharper wordplay. It’s another excellent addition to East’s catalog but hopefully, he has a new project on the way soon.
Over the past few months, Dave East’s provided fans with an influx of music to dive into. However, it seems like one of the next projects on his itinerary is a health-inspired effort alongside Fabolous, Maino and Jim Jones. The four artists, who are frequently spotted in the gym together on social media, joined forces for “Fit Lit” last year. Their upcoming effort appears to expand their chemistry further.
In terms of a solo album, Dave East seems to be hard at work cooking up new music. In 2021, he revealed that he worked with J. Cole on new music when the Fayetteville native told him to play with his tones. In a recent interview, he said that he’s applied the critique to his upcoming project. “For him to be who he is at the level he’s at and give me that game like that, give me that little bit of advice just to help my own shit out.” He added: “I definitely apply it to what I got going on. My new album, you definitely going to hear some of that in there. But yeah, big shout out to J. Cole.”

DJ Drama‘s Gangsta Grillz series has had a resurgence in the last couple of years. Already multiple projects in this year, including his own album, DJ Drama revealed to XXL who else he would love to work with.
“I’ve had the conversation with Stove God [Cooks],” Drama said. “I would love to do a project with him. I think a GloRilla ‘Gangsta Grillz’ would be fire. Maybe even like Ice Spice or maybe Lady London. So many dope females out there.
“Obviously, a lot of people have always wanted the EST Gee Gangsta Grillz. Don’t get me started, so many people. I mean, would love to do a Brent Faiyaz ‘Gangsta Grillz.’ It is endless. I think that’s one thing that’s dope and potent about ‘Gangsta Grillz.’ It’s a platform and gross-generational.”
Drama would also reveal the Gangsta Grillz De La Soul project hasn’t gained a lot of traffic yet. “There’ve been a lot of conversations, especially between me and Pos[dnuos], something that we’ve talked about for the last, like two, two-and-a-half years and really trying to bring it to fruition.”
DJ Drama is delivering back-to-back MVP-caliber years. In March, the mixtape legend and iconic DJ and producer have released his sixth studio album, I’m Really Like That.
The new album brings in Tyler the Creator, Wiz Khalifa, Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Nipsey Hussle, Gucci Mane, 42Dugg, Symba, LaRussell, and many more. Production on the drop includes DJ Cannon, Helluva, Cash Money AP, and more.
The album follows the street single “Forever,” which brings in a group of Hip-Hop elite in KRS-One, Jim Jones, Fabolous, Benny the Butcher, and Capella Grey, paying homage to the late and legendary DJ Kay Slay.
“I’m excited to share this project with the world,” says DJ Drama. “I’ve worked hard on this album, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. I’m grateful to all the artists who lent their talents to the project and my fans who have been rocking with me since day one.”

Roddy Ricch took off in 2018 and hasn’t looked back since. He’s one of the younger artists from the West Coast looking to lead the way for years to come. However, just a few years in, the Compton rapper has been able to make songs with some of the biggest artists in music. Roddy Rich’s collaborations have made for some of his best work. He was able to make a song with the late Nipsey Hussle before he was murdered.
On the West Coast, you have YG, Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, and Vince Staples, to name a few. Like these artists, Roddy Ricch is next in line to be a star. However, he may already be looked at in the same light as his peers. Besides Kendrick, Roddy has the most Grammy nominations and wins. After collaborating with Mustard, the 24-year-old has continued making music with high-profile artists. Clearly, he gets the respect of his peers as he has been on plenty of features. Arguably, he’s one of the leaders of the new school. Let’s take a look at some of Roddy Rich’s biggest collabs.
Within a short time, DaBaby became one of the most beloved rappers in Hip Hop. He secured his first No. 1 record with “Rockstar.” This gave Roddy Ricch his second No. 1 song and another Grammy nomination. Just a couple of years in and success with songs like these have Roddy on many people’s radars.
There are not too many artists to do it like 50 Cent. The Queens rapper is a legend in Hip Hop. Although he does not make music as much anymore, his name on a record is still valuable. Before Pop Smoke’s untimely murder, the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper believed the Brooklyn rapper was just like him. They joined forces for “The Woo” and tapped Roddy Ricch.
This Roddy Ricch collab put Roddy in an exclusive category. Pop Smoke was soaring to new heights, and with the guidance of 50 Cent, who knows what he could have been. Not many artists can say they were on the same song as the “Dior” rapper. Roddy Ricch can. Not too many artists can say they have a hit with 50 Cent. But Roddy Ricch can.
“Stunnaman” – Birdman ft. Roddy Ricch & Lil Wayne
Birdman will forever be a part of Hip Hop history. He and his brother, Slim, created one of the most powerful record labels in music. Before Roddy Ricch was born, Cash Money Records took over Hip Hop. In the late nineties and early 2000s, they were a force to be reckoned with. The label had Lil Wayne before he was a teenager and saw him become one of the best rappers Hip Hop has seen right before their eyes. With Wayne, Cash Money Records eventually added Young Money Records, which birthed the leaders of this generation in Drake and Nicki Minaj. On “Stunnaman,” Roddy Ricch finds himself amongst Hip Hop royalty rapping alongside Birdman and Wayne. There are not too many people bigger than these two in Hip Hop. This Roddy Ricch collab is a gem.
“Racks In The Middle” – Nipsey Hussle ft. Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy
Hip Hop felt a void when Nipsey Hussle was murdered. His music, message, and spirit were something Hip Hop had never seen before. Roddy Ricch described his relationship with Nipsey and how “Racks in the Middle” came about on The Breakfast Club. He clearly valued his relationship with the Crenshaw rapper as he explains they were friends before music. Hit-Boy has been a go-to producer for years, and Roddy has already rapped over one of his beats early in his career. “Racks in the Middle” was the last song we heard from Nipsey before he died. It earned all three artists two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. They won the latter at the 2020 Grammy Awards. This Roddy Rich collab will always be a highlight in his career.
“Pure Souls” – Kanye West ft. Roddy Ricch & Shenseea
There are not too many people, in general, bigger than Kanye right now. He makes headlines whenever he is out in public. His music remains a topic of conversation whenever he drops. For his Donda album, he tapped Roddy Ricch for “Pure Souls.” This Roddy Rich collab came as a surprise. This was big for both artists as they let go of their quick feud. After Ye posted a video of him urinating on one of his Grammy Awards, “The Box” rapper took to Instagram to disapprove of Kanye’s antics. The feud did not last long, as “Pure Souls” was born shortly thereafter.
“Cooped Up” – Post Malone
“Cooped Up” is one of the lead singles from Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache album. Though it is early in his career, Roddy finds himself on another radio hit. Post Malone is one of the biggest stars in music today. “Cooped Up” is the first collaboration between these two. Roddy excels on the pop-rock-Hip Hop track showing his versatility. Joining forces with the likes of Post Malone only increases Roddy’s popularity across all audiences. This Roddy Ricch collab can be played in any setting.
“Ballin’” – Mustard
In 2019, Roddy Ricch and Mustard combined for two hit records, “Ballin’” and “High Fashion.” The former gave Roddy his first Grammy nomination of his career. Mustard already proved to be a hitmaker years before he linked up with Compton artist. This collaboration elevates Roddy’s resume as ”Ballin” may be the most important song in his catalog. He has Mustard to thank for that. The producer/artist is known for making great music with California artists, such as YG and Tyga. This Roddy Ricch collab was one of the best songs in 2019.
NBA star Russell Westbrook jumped on social media with his wife, with Westbrook going through a bracket of the best rappers of all time. The Cali native made it a point to say that Nipsey Hussle was the best on the list, above Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, Ice Cube, Redman, Lil Wayne and the Notorious B.I.G.
Westbrook also put Ice Cube above Redman in the brackets and Dr. Dre ranked higher than Biggie. The bracket came down to Nipsey and Hov, to which of course the Cali native chose Nip.
