Nicki Minaj Tells Fans To Stop Asking Questions Amidst Ice Spice Beef

Nicki Minaj had quite a bit to say on August 21. The rapper didn’t name names, but she made lots of statements that all felt based around a few specific people. The people in question? The pair she went and unfollowed on Instagram the same day: JT and Ice Spice. Minaj cut ties with the up-and-coming rappers. She then proceeded to criticize younger rappers who go and sign with white owned record labels over her own Heavy On It imprint. THEN she wagged her finger at her fans and claimed she’s through talking about “other people.”

There’s obviously a lot to unpack here. We already covered Nicki Minaj’s comments about labels, which you can check out here. The rant about “other people,” however, was perhaps the most intriguing piece of content that Minaj generated on Wednesday. The rapper addressed her fanbase directly, and said she has no plans to discuss people who are outside of her inner circle. “Don’t ask me about nobody,” she asserted. “If you don’t see someone around me, don’t ask me about them.” Nicki Minaj then advised curious parties to direct any questions at these other people.

Nicki Minaj Told Barbz They Don’t Know The ‘Truth’

“Go and talk to them,” the rapper added. “The truth of the matter is that y’all don’t want to know the truth of the matter.” The last line reads a bit like a Minaj bar, but it does also suggest that there’s more to the story than fans are getting to see. It’s not a stretch to infer that the rapper is talking about JT and Ice Spice. Nicki Minaj has had very public falling outs with both of these artists. In the case of Ice Spice, the relationship went from mutually supportive and collaborative to contentious in the span of a year. Minaj and Spice worked together on “Princess Diana” in 2023, and now they don’t even follow each other on Instagram.

In May 2024, texts claiming to belong to Ice Spice leaked online. The texts saw the “Munch” rapper complain about Nicki Minaj, calling her “ungrateful and delusional” and likening Minaj to her mother. From there, the alleged Ice Spice texts blasted Minaj for being “jealous” of the fact that the younger rapper owned her masters. Real or not, these leaked texts were seemingly the straw that broke the camel’s back. Minaj and Spice are on the outs. Don’t ask Minaj about it though, per her request.

Nicki Minaj Calls Out Rappers For Signing With White Record Labels

Nicki Minaj had a bone to pick on Wednesday night. The rapper decided to hop on social media and air out her frustrations with the upcoming generation of artists. She initially made headlines for unfollowing the likes of JT and Ice Spice on Instagram, but Minaj had bigger fish to fry. The Young Money icon had a serious issue with the fact that so many African American artists are choosing to sign with record labels owned by white people. Minaj went on to contrast this pattern with the label she owns, Heavy On It.

“Motherf*cker tell somebody they don’t want to sign with Heavy On It,” she noted. “But then they’ll go and sign with the white peoples. And guess who the white peoples finna call?” Nicki Minaj then names herself. “They always get the attention of the Barbz.” The rapper took things a step further by claiming that the upcoming version of her album, Pink Friday 2, will be limited to Heavy On It signees. The names she considers worth spotlighting. “You will be surprised,” Minaj noted. “And I’m not talking about doing ad-libs on any songs. If your name is not on Pink Friday 2, they’re not a Heavy On It artist.”

Nicki Minaj Wants More Artists To Sign To Her Label

The Heavy On It connection seems somewhat connected to Nicki Minaj’s problems with Ice Spice. It was widely speculated that Ice Spice was signed with Heavy On it in 2023. It was later confirmed, though, that the “Munch” rapper had inked a deal with Virgin Records. Spice’s debut album, Y2K, was just put out through Virgin. Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice experienced joint success with their single “Princess Diana.” That said, there has been nothing but tension between the two since. The fact that Minaj unfollowed Ice Spice on IG is further proof that things are not friendly between them.

It’s worth zooming out and looking at Nicki Minaj’s record deal. The rapper signed to Young Money in 2009. Lil Wayne and Birdman were the figureheads of Young Money, but the label is part of Universal Music Group. Who owns UMG? Lucian Grainge. The same Lucian Grainge Kanye West ranted about when he was dissing Drake on the “Like That” remix. Nicki Minaj may be frustrated with the decisions that younger artists have made, but she’s technically guilty of the same sin she’s accusing them of.

Nicki Minaj Previews Drake & Juice WRLD Collabs Ahead Of Next “Pink Friday 2” Deluxe

Yesterday, August 20, Nicki Minaj sent out a tweet that had the Barbz truly elated. “PF2 #GagCityReloaded – the album”. Yes, if two expanded editions of Pink Friday 2 weren’t enough for you, a third alternate version is on its way. However, we are currently being left in the dark about when it will release. That remains true today as well, according to AllHipHop. Nicki Minaj hopped on Instagram Live for about 45 minutes late last night with over 4,700 fans tuning in, presumably to hear any sort of extra news.

If that’s true, then the Queens, New York MC certainly fulfilled their wishes. As we said, she wasn’t able to give a drop date, but here are the words straight from the source. “I will be doing a deluxe version of Pink Friday 2. It will be called Pink Friday 2 Gag City Reloaded. It’s going to be out soon. Do I have the exact dates for you? No. Is it coming out this week? No. But it’s coming”. However, that was about the only disappointing part of the whole Live because she would go on to preview several tracks that could be on this deluxe.

Nicki Minaj Gives The Barbz A Taste Of Several Tracks

Some of them included Drake and Juice WRLD collaborations. However, it seems like the former won’t be on Gag City Reloaded as she was playing a version of Camila Cabello’s “HOT UPTOWN” with her on it that didn’t see the light of day. “I’m not on it but the song is out”. Later, Nicki would go on to play two, “Anxiety” and “Mamita”, with the latter having potentially multiple guests. Fans were enjoying the former and it turns out to be one of her favorites as well. “Isn’t that so beautiful”? Finally, for Juice WRLD, she’s really hoping she can get him on it. “It would be incredible for me I think to have Juice WRLD on this album. Because before he passed that’s what we were talking about. He recorded a bunch of stuff when he was in my studio, but I don’t like to exploit people, and people’s deaths and stuff like that”.

“Blonde Hair” was one of the tracks that made its way onto her IG Live. Overall, there’s a lot of excitement around this upcoming deluxe and it seems that there’s a chance for a lot of extra material. What are your thoughts on Nicki Minaj sampling these new tracks with Drake and Juice WRLD for Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Reloaded)? Which one is your favorite out of the bunch? Nicki Minaj Has An Idea For A Tour That Fans Of Her Classic Material Will Love

From 2007 to 2009, Nicki Minaj had a run of mixtapes that included Playtime Is Over, Sucka Free, and Beam Me Up Scotty. The releases were important for Minaj’s career, as they served as the lead-up to her classic debut album, 2010’s Pink Friday. It looks like Minaj wants to honor that era with a new tour.

A few days ago, Minaj announced a new leg of the Pink Friday 2 World Tour. On Monday (August 19), Minaj polled her fans on X (formerly Twitter), asking what songs she didn’t perform on the first tour leg they’d like to see her bust out during future shows.

Well, one fan asked for Beam Me Up Scotty cut “Envy,” Minaj responded, “We’ll save that for the mixtape tour guys. Another idea I had a while back.”

At this point, it seems like the mixtape-focused tour is little more than idea at the moment, especially with the new Pink Friday 2 World Tour dates being at the forefront of Minaj’s mind. But, she at least feels strongly enough about the concept to publicly talk about it on social media, so time will tell.

There’s certainly still interest in the mixtapes: Beam Me Up Scotty was reissued in 2021 and it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Nicki Minaj Hints At Upcoming Tour Dedicated To Mixtape Releases

Nicki Minaj may have dozens of classic singles on her albums, but she made a name for herself on the mixtape circuit. She dropped beloved releases like Sucka Free and Beam Me Up, Scotty in the late 00s, before linking up with Young Money. Minaj has rarely looked back at this period of her career, but a new tweet from the rapper suggests that is going to change. She was discussing set list preferences with her fans on social media, and hinted at the possibility of an upcoming mixtape tour.

Nicki Minaj asked what songs her fans wanted to her during her current Pink Friday 2 tour. Of course, fans flooded the comment section with suggestions. When one Barb suggested a song from Minaj’s mixtape days, though, the rapper pushed back against the idea. The reason? She’s saving the song for something down the line. “We’ll save that for the mixtape tour guys,” she wrote. “Another idea I had a while back.” She included a playful gif of Prince with the tweet, suggesting she knew good and well that her fans would freak out over the news. The rapper was right.

Nicki Minaj Added Her Breakout Tape To Streaming In 2021

Nicki Minaj has looked fondly upon her mixtapes in recent years. The rapper released an abbreviated version of Beam Me Up, Scotty on streaming platforms in 2021. She explained her rationale for the drop during an Instagram Live. “This is just to get back to the basics a little bit,” she noted. “To the essence of why I started rapping.” There was also a pointed effort to bring back “mixtape Nicki” on her most recent album, Pink Friday 2. “I’m creating music like how I used to create music,” she told Power 98.3. “When I first started rapping on mixtapes… Being in the moment, staying present in the moment and seeing what happens.”

Nicki Minaj has also flirted with the notion of dropping another mixtape in the vein of her Young Money brother, Drake. Minaj told Paper Magazine that she nearly recorded a joint mixtape with Future back in 2017. Unfortunately, plans for the release ultimately fell through. “It’s very hard to make those types of ideas come to fruition,” she explained. “But when they do come together like the Jay and Kanye West [project], then it’s magic for sure.” Hopefully Nicki Minaj follows through with her mixtape tour plans.

Nicki Minaj Hints At Another Alternate Version Of “Pink Friday 2”

There is no doubt that Nicki Minaj is giving fans what they want as of late. The Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter has been doing so ever since the release of Pink Friday 2. However, we can trace that trend back to the original in 2009. The New York-based superstar put out several versions of her debut LP including a deluxe, complete edition, “… Roman Reloaded”, “… Roman Reloaded (Deluxe)”, “Roman Reloaded The Re-Up”, and finally a “… Roman Reloaded (Deluxe Edition)”. Fast forward to 2023-2024 and Nicki Minaj is doing the same thing. We currently have a “(Gag City Deluxe)” as well as a “(Gag City PLUTO Edition)”.

Well, it appears Nicki is gearing up for number alternate version number three according to a recent tweet. “PF2 #GagCityReloaded – the album”, she sent out to her followers on X. This is something that was indirectly hinted in her recent announcement of another leg of Pink Friday 2 World Tour. “#GagCityReloaded will be a beautiful, magical dream come true. Better than the 1st half & that wasn’t easy to do. 😐 New looks, set list changes, other secrets, ummmm new music? 😅Lemme think about it”, she said.

Nicki Minaj Already Announced A Gag City Reloaded Tour

She did so a few days ago on Instagram that the third run of this top-selling trek across the globe would be starting on September 4 and running through October 11. Special guest performers will include Tyga, Skillibeng, and BIA. With those dates in mind, there’s a good chance that Nicki releases it this Friday or next, but nothing is known as of now. Even though this all very fresh, fans are already going bonkers online. “NICKI DONT PLAY W ME FHDHHDDBHD”, one user replies. “EXSQUEEEZE MEEEEE?!??”, another adds. You better believe that the Barbz are ready to feast, and Nicki’s got them wrapped around her finger.

What are your thoughts on Nicki Minaj teasing the release of a Gag City Reloaded version of Pink Friday 2? When do you think she is going to drop it? Are you planning on going to a tour stop when it starts? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Nicki Minaj’s Original Verse For Kanye West’s “Monster” Leaks Online

Nicki Minaj’s verse on “Monster” is the stuff of legend. She bodied the likes of Kanye West and JAY-Z, and proved herself to be one of the best female emcees of all time. Today, Minaj’s most vocal critics are in agreeance that she did her thing on the 2010 single. The reverence that the genre has for “Monster” is what makes the recent leak so intriguing. A brief snippet of Nicki Minaj’s original verse leaked online on August 19. The leak is notable because Kanye West claimed to have made the rapper rewrite her verse multiple times.

The snippet is significantly shorter than the final Nicki Minaj verse, but the similarities are obvious. The rhyme scheme is similar, but the opening lines are different. “Go get them eggs and ham, they greener than doc Suess,” she raps. The lines that follow match the final version, with references to “Barbie” and the killer doll Chucky. The delivery, however, is much less eccentric. It’s clear that Nicki Minaj decided to amp up her personality when recording the final version, and it was to the song’s benefit. The “Monster” verse gained relevance again in December 2023, when Kanye West and Nicki Minaj got into a very public spat.

Nicki Minaj’s Verse Was Almost Cut From The Song

Kanye West asked Minaj’s permission to release their collab “New Body,” but the latter refused. West then criticized Minaj during a listening sessions. “I made that girl rewrite her verse 3 times for ‘Monster,’ he stated. “I supported her career. So I don’t know what it is.” Nicki Minaj took to social media to clarify her stance on “New Body” and the rejected clearance. She felt the window for the song had come and gone, since she recorded her verse three years prior.

“Regarding Kanye, that train has left the station,” Minaj explained to her fans. “No disrespect in any way, I just put out a brand new album. Why would I put out a song that’s been out for 3 years? Come on guys.” Ironically, Nicki Minaj had to fight to get “Monster” verse on West’s album back in 2010. “It was like an hour long call where I tried to convince him to let the song stay on his album,” she wrote on IG. “He felt this verse would end up being the talk of the album.” West’s instincts proved correct, and the rest was history.

Remy Ma Almost Fell For A Nicki Minaj Reference On “Family Feud”

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj’s beef is well-documented at this point, and while things died down a while ago, it’s still hard to ignore. Moreover, the former recently participated on Family Feud, and a particular fill-in-the-blank question led to a pretty interesting reaction. The prompt was “[Blank] Friday,” which led many eagle-eyed fans to spot the Bronx femcee’s small laugh when she heard the prompt. A lot of fans figured that she thought of Minaj’s album Pink Friday first, but she instead gave “Black Friday” as an answer. While we’ll probably never know whether or not Steve Harvey chose to be cheeky with this, fans ran with that narrative regardless.

Furthermore, the last “update” we got concerning Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj were some odd claims from Hazel-E. She claimed that Remy, the Migos, Suge Knight, and many others actually received payment to sabotage Nicki’s career. Of course, rumors like these are pretty frequent and common when it comes to the discussion around these two female rappers and many others. Even though we’ll probably never see evidence of this, some fanbases will still use it as a talking point either way.

Remy Ma Dodges A Nicki Minaj Reference On Family Feud

However, despite Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj’s long and contentious history, some fans still think that they can bury the hatchet. In fact, the latter seemed to hint at a reconciliation while promoting Pink Friday 2, but that never manifested for that album’s rollout. Still, with so much beef going around in 2024, it seems as good a time as ever to either re-engage or reconsider. After all, this combative year could also result in more amicable moments of coming together rather than continued battle.

Meanwhile, Remy Ma doesn’t really want to talk about any of this beef, for the most part. For example, she avoided a question about Nicki Minaj and Latto beefing at the 2023 Grammys. Maybe Remy would rather speak on her own experiences with femcees rather than other ones. Regardless of whether or not these two eventually make up and set their issues aside, it’s impossible to not think of their spat whenever their names come up together.

Nicki Minaj Has Reportedly Reached A Settlement With A YouTuber Who Alleged The Rapper Was A ‘Cokehead’

YouTubers looking to carelessly discuss the private matters of Nicki Minaj have been put on notice. The “Barbie World” rapper has reportedly secured a major legal victory against one commentator on the platform.

According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj’s court case with YouTuber Nosey Heaux (real name Marley Green) panned out in her favor. In the outlet’s report, it states that the pair reached a settlement over the content creator’s September 2022 claim that Nicki Minaj was a “cokehead” and “shoving all this cocaine up her nose.”

As part of the settlement, according to TMZ, Green must publicly acknowledge that “everything she said about Nicki Minaj using or abusing cocaine was false.” Green must also publicly admit that “she never had any evidence of Nicki Minaj using or abusing cocaine or any other drug.”

Green’s past video did include several harsh remarks about Nicki Minaj’s son, affectionately known as Papa Bear (whom she shares with husband Kenneth Petty).

In additional to the previously mentioned retractions, Green has supposedly agreed to several other stipulations. Green is not to publicly discuss Petty and Papa Bear. Online, Green has reportedly agreed to not repost others comments about Nicki Minaj doing anything or partaking in anything, both illegal or unethical.

Although Nosey Heaux can no longer push the narrative. Unfortunately, for Nicki Minaj, it has already been subtly used by her foes in songs such as Uproxx cover star Latto’sPut It On Da Floor” and “It’s Givin.”

Akbar V Claps Back At Latto For Not Naming Nicki Minaj As The GOAT Woman Rapper

Akbar V is speaking up for former onetime collaborator Nicki Minaj, arguing that she is the greatest female rapper of all time after Latto dubbed Lil’ Kim as the true G.O.A.T. The Love & Hip-Hop alum and rapper took to X/Twitter Wednesday to respond to Latto’s claim that the Brooklyn rapper is the most impactful woman in hip-hop history.

Minaj and Latto have been feuding since 2022, after a war of words that began when Minaj interpreted a tweet from Latto as a subliminal shot. They have not engaged with each other publicly since a lengthy back-and-forth. The public aspect of their beef all but ended when Latto mentioned that Minaj’s husband is a registered sex offender. Fans interpreted Latto ranking Kim over Minaj as an intentional slight. Kim and Minaj also feuded publicly at the beginning of the latter’s career. Akbar V appears to be one of those people.

Akbar V Responds To Latto’s Claim That Lil Kim Is The GOAT Female MC

Latto first dubbed Lil Kim as the greatest during her Complex conversation with sister Brooklyn Nicole, where she first referred to herself as the greatest before recognizing the “Crush On You” rhymer’s impact. “But like, the GOAT is Lil Kim, for sure. Fashion icon, timeless music, timeless looks, gon’ forever be a staple, in not only rap, but female rap. And she the GOAT because she is a queen for real, like, off camera, she a queen […]I love her, and she ‘Big Mama,’ too. It’s just a ‘Big Momma thang,’” referencing both Kim’s track of the same name, as well her own song, “Big Mama.” Akbar V, like many Nicki Minaj fans, disagreed, and wanted her perspective to be known.

While Latto recognizes Kim as the number one female rapper, she acknowledged Minaj back in April when she named the Queens MC in her top 3, though she refused to say her name. “Gotta say Kim,” Latto told Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 radio station when asked about her favorite female rappers. “Imma say Left Eye, rest in peace Left Eye. And shawty,” which fans quickly interpreted as a reference to Nicki Minaj. Latto’s a Lil Kim fan, even though it is possible that some part of her consistent praise is digging at a former friend and musical influence.
