Missy Elliott is still rocking. The legendary rapper has been headlining the first solo tour of her career, and it’s gone fantastic. Fans have been impressed by Elliott’s stage presence and energy this far into her career. On Monday, though, the rapper decided to share the spotlight. Missy Elliott brought out Lil Kim on the Brooklyn leg of her tour, and the reception was rapturous. Fans were thrilled to see two iconic female emcees share the stage together. Especially since Elliott and Kim rarely crossed paths in the last couple years.

Lil Kim came out and performed her 2003 hit “The Jump Off” before a screaming crowd. Then, her and Missy Elliott joined forces to rap their 1997 collab “Not Tonight (Ladies Night).” It was a special moment, especially given Kim’s status as a Brooklyn icon. Missy Elliott and Lil Kim may have very different styles on paper, but the two rappers collaborated frequently during the 90s and 2000s. Missy Elliott helped to write Lil Kim’s 2001 smash “Lady Marmalade.” The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Kim and company a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

Missy Elliott And Lil Kim Have Been Friends For Decades

Missy Elliott and Lil Kim’s personal lives have taken priority in recent years. The latter told Entertainment Tonight that the birth of her son slowed her musical output in the mid-2000s. That said, Kim made sure to give Elliott some love. “I’m just really excited to see my friends. Missy Elliott is my sister,” she gushed. “She’s a long-term friend and just someone that I love dearly.” The last time Kim and Elliott appeared on a song together was the remix to the 2017 single “I’m Better.” The remix also featured verses from Trina and Eve.

The love goes both ways. Missy Elliott told VH1 that she was an enormous fan of Lil Kim’s music, and knows several lyrics by heart. “Like, I know every lyric, cos you hear people sing with conviction – she rapped with conviction,” Elliott asserted. “You believe every word she said […] She’s such a sweetheart, but she could knock if you buck if it gets down… Before me and Kim are friends, I’m a fan.” You can see the chemistry between these two rappers throughout the years, and it’s still obvious on stage. Fingers crossed these two will link up for a new song in the near future.

50 Cent Suspects Alleged Diddy Tapes Are Keeping Peers “Quiet” Amid Legal Saga

50 Cent has been a particularly vocal critic of Diddy amid the Bad Boy Records founder’s ongoing legal saga. He frequently trolls his longtime rival on social media and also produced a docuseries about the debacle. In a new interview with US Weekly, he gave fans an update on the eagerly anticipated project. He also shared the simple reason he decided to take it on in the first place.

“I’m the only person in hip-hop culture that has produced any hit television. Why wouldn’t I be the person to produce it?” he began. “And I’m not on the tapes. See, some of the people who have been around in the culture who are not saying anything—that’s because they’ve been to the parties… They don’t know what part of their experiences are on tape.”

“So it keeps them quiet,” he continued, “And it looks like I’m the only guy, but I’ve been [saying] for years that something’s not right.” Diddy’s been hit with various lawsuits in recent months, the first being filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie in November. He’s also been accused of sexual assault, abuse, and more by several others.

In March of this year, two of the music mogul’s mansions were also raided by Homeland Security as part of a federal human trafficking investigation. 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film and Television sold his Diddy docuseries to Netflix in May. LA Reid’s Attempt To Have Sexual Assault Lawsuit Tossed Gets Rejected

LA Reid did not get his way in court on August 13. The legendary record producer was slapped with sexual assault charges in 2023. He has attempted to get out of said charges, and even put in a legal request to have the case tossed. Judge Valerie Caproni did not budge, however. The New York judge rejected LA Reid’s request on Tuesday. The charges leveled at the producer will proceed, and accuser Drew Dixon will be allowed to pursue unspecified damages.

LA Reid’s attorney tried to remove 10 sections of New York Penal Law Article 130 cited in the lawsuit. Dixon pushed back against these attempts, deeming them “inappropriate” and a waste of the court’s time. Judge Caproni ultimately saw things Dixon’s way. “It is difficult to understand any prejudice caused by additional citations to other portions of Article 130,” she told the court. “Because Defendant has not met his burden, his Motion to Strike is denied.” Dixon’s lawsuit, while filed in 2023, pertain to incidents with LA Reid dating back to 2001.

LA Reid Has Denied Drew Dixon’s Accusations

Dixon, who previously worked under the producer, claimed that she was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions. She went on to accuse LA Reid of making work increasingly difficult for her after later advances were rebuked. Dixon’s lawsuit states that Reid slashed the budget of Dixon’s projects, and effectively forced her to leave her position in 2002. “This litigation is not only about the horrific physical assaults that Ms. Dixon had to endure,” the suit added. “[It’s] about the irreparable damage done to the rare and blossoming career of an extraordinary talent.”

LA Reid has denied these accusations. The producer claimed that Dixon blamed him for her career struggles and is turning to the Adult Survivors Act as a means of exploitation. “Plaintiff is using those laws to springboard claims of career frustration and disappointment,” Reid’s filing stated. “For which there are no timely or cognisable causes of action.” LA Reid posited that Dixon took advantage of the Adult Survivors Act, which gives her an “inappropriate advantage.” Further details on the LA Reid and Dixon case to come.

She went on to add another four medals to her previous collection of 10 overall, which included seven golds. After it was all set and done, the Columbus, Ohio native snagged another three golds in addition to a silver. He teased the diss on X last week, announcing plans to perform it at an upcoming Trump rally. While many thought this was a step too far, others were looking forward to hearing what he had cooked up. It doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon, however, as the rapper recently announced that he’s opted to drop a pro-Trump anthem instead.

In a post shared on X last night, Lil Pump revealed his new plans, also sharing that he’s being backed by Trump’s team. “Not dropping a diss song,” he began. “I know some ppl wanted it but it would hurt what we are fighting for which is to get President Trump in office. Can’t stoop down to the liberals level IM DROPPING A PRO TRUMP SONG WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE TRUMP TEAM!! YES THIS IS BIG!!”

Lil Pump Announces Pro-Trump Song

Lil Pump’s latest announcement certainly doesn’t mean he’s changed his stance on Harris. In fact, earlier this month, he said that he’ll be leaving the country if she becomes president. This seems extreme, although it doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise. In the past, Lil Pump has already shown his support for Donald Trump with wild hairstyles, rants, and even a tattoo. With that being said, his declaration left social media users split. While some couldn’t bear to watch him go, others think they’d get over it pretty quickly.

Tyler, The Creator Wants To Apologize To Eminem For His Initial Harsh Criticism Of “Recovery”

Tyler, The Creator and Eminem have a bit of a complicated relationship with one another. Growing up, the former was a huge fan of the latter. In fact, he cites him as one of his influences for getting into hip-hop. During this new interview with Maverick Carter via his show, Mavericks with Mav Carter on YouTube, Tyler talks about how the Detroit legend taught him the basics. “I love Eminem. That dude taught me how to rap. I learned how to put words together in rhythm because of some of the Eminem stuff I was hearing and storytelling and things like that”. While this adoration still remains true, as we learn later in this chat, the last several years would have you thinking otherwise.

One of Em’s biggest supporters has been uber critical over the last several years of his records, especially toward the end of the 2010s. The Death of Slim Shady MC also respected Tyler when he started getting to the industry, so when he heard these digs, Em felt bothered and hurt. It led him to eventually diss the multi-hyphenate on “Fall” which is on his Kamikaze record. Since that time, it seems these two have been pretty silent on each other up until today. After essentially just growing up and being more understanding, Tyler feels really awful and guilty for what he’s said. He specifically cites his initial harsh dismissal of Recovery, one of Em’s most personal records to date.

Tyler, The Creator & Eminem Have Not Always Been On The Best Terms

Tyler credits the Netlfix series Painkillers for helping him realize how unfair he was being to someone who was battling a lot to put out a project like that. “When [Recovery] came out I f——g hated it. Publicly was like, ‘This s*** is wack.’ Didn’t like it and after watching [Painkillers] I felt so bad about those tweets and things like that because thinking from his perspective someone like me publicly saying that stuff and him off drugs and being clean and getting to a point in life where that’s behind him and me implying, ‘Nah, this s–t is wack’”. Later, he adds, “He probably felt like I was attacking him. I thought I was just like, ‘I don’t like the music.’ He was in a different part of his life and probably felt like I was attacking him. Now I feel so bad about saying that stuff because my perspective was so limited”.

Towards the end of the discussion, Tyler hopes that him and Em can meet so he can personally apologize. “I felt terrible. If I ever see him, I want to tell him that in-person”.
