Nicki Minaj Hints At Another Alternate Version Of “Pink Friday 2”

There is no doubt that Nicki Minaj is giving fans what they want as of late. The Trinidadian rapper, singer, and songwriter has been doing so ever since the release of Pink Friday 2. However, we can trace that trend back to the original in 2009. The New York-based superstar put out several versions of her debut LP including a deluxe, complete edition, “… Roman Reloaded”, “… Roman Reloaded (Deluxe)”, “Roman Reloaded The Re-Up”, and finally a “… Roman Reloaded (Deluxe Edition)”. Fast forward to 2023-2024 and Nicki Minaj is doing the same thing. We currently have a “(Gag City Deluxe)” as well as a “(Gag City PLUTO Edition)”.

Well, it appears Nicki is gearing up for number alternate version number three according to a recent tweet. “PF2 #GagCityReloaded – the album”, she sent out to her followers on X. This is something that was indirectly hinted in her recent announcement of another leg of Pink Friday 2 World Tour. “#GagCityReloaded will be a beautiful, magical dream come true. Better than the 1st half & that wasn’t easy to do. 😐 New looks, set list changes, other secrets, ummmm new music? 😅Lemme think about it”, she said.

Nicki Minaj Already Announced A Gag City Reloaded Tour

She did so a few days ago on Instagram that the third run of this top-selling trek across the globe would be starting on September 4 and running through October 11. Special guest performers will include Tyga, Skillibeng, and BIA. With those dates in mind, there’s a good chance that Nicki releases it this Friday or next, but nothing is known as of now. Even though this all very fresh, fans are already going bonkers online. “NICKI DONT PLAY W ME FHDHHDDBHD”, one user replies. “EXSQUEEEZE MEEEEE?!??”, another adds. You better believe that the Barbz are ready to feast, and Nicki’s got them wrapped around her finger.

Tyrese Refuses To Squash DJ Envy Beef In Return To “The Breakfast Club”

Tyrese came back to The Breakfast Club after some previous clashes, and fans couldn’t be happier with the results. But that’s not because of how entertaining, funny, or easy this new conversation was. Rather, it was because of the emotion and honesty that he shared concerning his divorce, his grief, and his current mindset. Of course, that’s not to say that it was all tearful expressions and deep thoughts, as the multi-hyphenate and the radio hosts also chuckled along the way. He even embraced Charlamagne Tha God at one point, and overall, fans are happy to see him back and in good spirits with the crew.

Well… Maybe not all the crew. If you didn’t hear, Tyrese claimed that DJ Envy tried to ban him from The Breakfast Club last week amid their ongoing beef. Their issues, stemming from how they’ve spoken on each other’s relationships and on their personal bond, have dogged them around for the past year now. It’s hard to identify exactly what caused all this, since it’s one man’s word against another. Still, Envy reportedly didn’t say anything during this Breakfast Club interview, and fans wonder whether he was even in the studio.

Kanye West Catches Big Break In Boogie Down Productions Lawsuit

Kanye West has reached a settlement in a copyright lawsuit regarding his use of an uncleared sample from the catalog of Boogie Down Productions in his song, “Life of the Party.” Both sides will pay their own legal bills, but in announcing the settlement, no further details were made public. Phase One Network, which owns Boogie Down’s copyrights, originally filed the lawsuit back in 2022, alleging Ye used the 1986 song “South Bronx.”

“The communications confirmed that ‘South Bronx’ had been incorporated into the infringing track even though West had yet to obtain such license,” Phase One’s lawyers wrote. “Despite the fact that final clearance for use of ‘South Bronx’ in the infringing track was never authorized, the infringing track was nevertheless reproduced, sold, distributed, publicly performed and exploited.”

West’s team argued that KRS-One previously promised other artists that they “will not get sued” for sampling Boogie Down’s catalog. He apparently made the comments during the 2006 documentary, The Art of 16 Bars. KRS-One said: “I give to all MCs my entire catalog.” Phase One wasn’t moved by the argument, instead saying it was irrelevant as Boogie Down didn’t own their own recordings. “Movants cite to no law to support such a theory. KRS-One also could not have placed the Work in the public domain as he did not own it,” they wrote.

Despite settling with West and the Yeezy brand, Phase One will still continue to take legal action against the company behind the Stem Player platform West used to release Donda. Russell Simmons wants people on social media to stop criticizing his friends for supporting him after several celebrities have come under fire for visiting him in Bali. Addressing his followers, the music industry veteran argued that he’s more innocent than several former presidents of the United States. He’s faced allegations of rape and sexual misconduct in recent years.

“I have never spoken to a policeman about anything,” he began. “I have never spoken to a judge, civil or criminal, about anything. From what I can tell, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, President Trump, all have more credible claims against them than I do.” From there, he brought up having taken nine lie detector tests and asked whether any of the men he just mentioned had done the same. “Knock it off. I love you, I just don’t want my friends attacked. I wish you all the best, but just leave my friends alone. Don’t attack them for visiting me,” he concluded.

Well, that was quick. Fans of Lil Yachty and Drake’s collaborative chemistry breathed a sigh of relief when it became clear that the former is now following the latter on Instagram. Moreover, this is because social media users initially went into a frenzy due to the Atlanta creative unfollowing the Toronto superstar, which eagle-eyed followers spotted on Tuesday (August 20). Of course, a lot of the controversy behind this is that the duo has a strong personal bond. Also, they picked a very inconvenient time to spark this sort of thing, as the rest of the world has intensely tallied up Drizzy’s enemies in the rap game for a couple of months now.

It’s also the fact that, based on some online teases, Drake is gearing up to officially release the track “Supersoak.” However, it seems like this cut no longer features Yachty. The Let’s Start Here. artist had initially leaked the original collaborative version of this song to Kai Cenat after they failed to clear the sample. The reason why is because the sampled artist, Mr. Hotspot, refused to do so unless they made a clean version of their link-up.
