Nicki Minaj is not the biggest fan of A.I. technology in music, and as such, fans can’t tell whether a recent tweet is her joking or not. Moreover, she recently reacted on Twitter to an artificial intelligence-generated cover of her hit song “Super Bass,” but in the style of 1970s soul and funk. “I hate yall so bad for this,” Queen Barb quote-tweeted the cover itself, and it’s kind of hard to tell whether she’s serious or she’s joking. After all, sometimes that language isn’t as mean as it comes across on paper, but it’s also entirely possible that she’s tired of seeing A.I. take over in this way.

Furthermore, it’s very understandable why Nicki Minaj would want her classics preserved, especially in the face of edits without her approval. That being said, it’s very clear to see that no one, whether it’s a person or an A.I. generated creation, will be able to replace her sheer energy and passion. These are the kinds of qualities that make the ongoing Pink Friday 2 world tour a record-breaking and wondrous run for fans, which they couldn’t be happier with. No matter how hard the computer tries, it will never be able to capture crowds’ imaginations, joys, and spirits quite like that.

The social media user allegedly accused her of being a “cokehead” all the way back around 2022, when the lawsuit emerged. The Trinidadian MC requested a status update on the case, as apparently the defendant took a long time to reply and still didn’t meet an extension. In addition, she accused the blogger of unfulfilled compliance with discovery requests.

Meanwhile, there are some other legal issues on Nicki Minaj’s horizon right now, but it seems like they will all stay pretty controlled. It’s not like any of them have been able to stop the Pink Friday 2 world tour’s success, nor its headliner’s massive reach. But what could one day get in the way is if A.I. technology runs rampant and cheats musicians out of their likeness, voice, image, and therefore money. Censori, on the other hand, sported one of her iconic nude bodysuits, her hair slicked back into a bun.

Witnesses also caught a glimpse of what appeared to be the Chicago MC’s Tesla Cybertruck in the parking lot. Reportedly, the couple had a lively conversation while they enjoyed their meal. Unfortunately, a mixed-up order may have also prompted an argument with their server.

Kendrick Lamar is reportedly taking a victory lap after fans declared his victory in the Drake beef, and what better place to do it than his home city? Moreover, according to the Wall Street Journal and AllHipHop, he agreed to buy a house in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles for over $40 million. It’s a 16,000-square-foot home from a trust connected to Viet Dinh, former chief legal and policy officer for the Fox Corporation. Reportedly, the Compton rapper would be paying over twice as much for the property than what the previous owners paid for it in 2019, which was $19.5 million.

Furthermore, this comes after Kendrick Lamar’s Brooklyn apartment came up as a jab during the Drake beef, specifically on Drizzy’s “Family Matters.” While these claims also linked to infidelity accusations surrounding his partner Whitney Alford, many fans believe based on Instagram posts that she also moved to this apartment. However, it’s unclear who is moving into this new home, as they keep their personal and private endeavors pretty close to the chest. We know thanks to albums like Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers that their complex relationship remains a supportive and caring one.

Kendrick Lamar featured his house on the “Not Like Us” cover art, along with Photoshopped child sex offender pins placed on top of it. Also, it was unfortunately a victim of a shooting in the Bridle Path neighborhood recently, which left one security guard shot and in the hospital. At press time, the motive, method, and connection behind this scare hasn’t been confirmed, so it’s worthless to speculate on whether this rap battle had anything to do with it.

In any case, it seems like Kendrick Lamar has a new home to enjoy in Los Angeles as his West Coast anthem continues to enjoy massive hit status. Whether or not this is the end of the Drake beef is a question we won’t be able to answer for at least a few months. Or at least, until someone throws the first subliminal the other’s way. In the footage, the Bad Boy Records founder seemingly kicks her multiple times, later attempting to drag her back to their room. The disturbing footage is now making its rounds online, and unsurprisingly, many think it’s the smoking gun the public needed to make up their minds about the mogul.

For those who don’t recall, Cassie sued Diddy late last year, accusing him of sexual assault, domestic violence, and more. The footage appears to corroborate some of her allegations, though the suit was settled almost immediately after she filed. The now-viral footage of Diddy and Cassie’s hotel incident may not be the only evidence out there pointing to his alleged abuse, however.

More Disturbing Diddy Footage Surfaces

In a resurfaced clip circulating on social media, Diddy shouts at someone hiding under a blanket, who many speculate could be Cassie. It’s unconfirmed whether or not she’s the individual under the blanket, though commenters find the clip unnerving, regardless of who it may be. At the time of writing, it’s unclear exactly when the footage was originally posted online, but it’s included in posts as far back as 2019.

Diddy has yet to address the footage that surfaced yesterday, though Cassie’s lawyer Douglas H. Wigdor promptly issued a statement. “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light,” he said via email. Diddy & Cassie Footage Is “Disturbing,” Los Angeles D.A. Remarks In Statement

Diddy is in hotter waters than ever on the Internet thanks to an alleged video of him supposedly assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway. Moreover, this clip is quite the disturbing one, and spread virally online due to the scandalous nature of his numerous sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations, whose claims also include more abhorrent behavior. However, it seems like this might not result in the immediate legal action that some users probably expected. Furthermore, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office issued a statement on Friday (May 17) on the matter, explaining the situation.

“We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles,” the L.A. D.A.’s Office remarked of Diddy. “We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch. If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted. As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”

L.A. D.A.’s Statement On Diddy & Cassie Footage

As such, it seems like -– at least, in this legal capacity -– there will be no immediate repercussion or pressed charges against Diddy. Of course, that could change quickly, especially if Cassie’s lawsuit within the statute of limitations also included a police report. But that’s an unclear detail, and it failed to change any sort of indignant reception or reaction to this alleged footage. Folks are going quite wild over it online, and for good reason given its intensity.

Meanwhile, there are other celebrities and pop culture figures that chimed into the debacle to either defend Cassie or protect Diddy. But this alleged video definitely ruined him in many’s eyes after what was already a staggeringly disturbing process for most. We’ll see what else comes of it in the near future, if anything at all. Kendrick Lamar is winning 2024. The rapper has been crowned the victor in the highly-publicized battle between him and Drake (rightfully so). He scored his second solo number one with “Not Like Us,” and he also secured number three and six hits with his other Drizzy disses. It gets better. Lamar’s iconic victory has inspired fans to dig back into his catalog and stream his albums at a rate they haven’t been streamed in years. The proof is in the numbers. The rapper’s seminal 2012 debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, is selling like a new album.

DJ Akademiks, the man who championed Drake throughout the battle, ceded Lamar’s dominance. He pointed out the rapper’s debut was on pace to sell 26K copies the week of May 12. To put this staggering number into perspective, the album’s first week of sales (with a hit single) was 242K. This means Lamar has amassed over 10% of his original first week sales without doing any sort of promo or repackaging. It all stems from the quality of the music. The 26K in sales will be enough to push Good Kid, M.A.A.D City into the top 20 of the Billboard 200. Another staggering achivement for an album that’s over a decade old.

Kendrick Lamar’s Debut Is Back On The Charts

The irony of Good Kid, M.A.A.D City doing so well in 2024 is that Drake is featured on one of the album’s biggest songs. “Poetic Justice,” the album’s fourth single, peaked at 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number eight on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, eventually going 2x Platinum. The rest of Lamar’s catalog has also seen a sharp spike in popularity. Billboard reported that streaming for Lamar’s music went up a staggering 49% from May 3-6. By comparison, Drake’s numbers were down 5%.

Good Kid, M.A.A.D City has also maintained its critical standing. Many cite it as the greatest hip-hop debut of all time, and one of the genre’s greatest albums, period. It’s frequently been compared to the likes of Illmatic and Ready to Die. It currently has a Metacritic score of 91, which is his second-highest behind To Pimp a Butterfly. Drake’s highest Metacritic score, by comparison, is Nothing Was the Same with a 79. K. Dot fans stay winning.
