Maino Recalls His Ex-Girlfriend Getting Shot During Taxstone Shooting

Maino recently told his side of the story of Taxstone’s shooting, an incident amid a Troy Ave beef which hit the podcaster with a 35-year prison sentence for his role in the incident. During his latest appearance on VladTV with DJ Vlad, the host first clarified some false reports about the New York City rapper playing a role in the shooting. They posited that he actually had nothing to do with it at all, although the MC and Vlad revealed that he does have a personal connection to it. Apparently, his ex-girlfriend was also shot during this incident, and while he didn’t speak on what he saw as a witness to the shooting, he did contextualize his thoughts on the matter.

“I said exactly everything that I said about it already, I don’t want to keep harping on that,” Maino began. “And I don’t want to keep giving life to n***as that I don’t believe even deserve life, you know? Once you work out a deal with the prosecution and get on the stand for your own wrong deeds, to work out a deal with the prosecution and go get on the stand and point your finger at another n***a, it ain’t no me and you. We ain’t into nothing.

Maino Speaks On Taxstone Shooting With DJ Vlad

“S**t happens, though, Vlad,” Maino continued. “That’s the thing, like… You know, I come from a world where we’ve had gunplay accidents, right? ‘Cause I see things on the Internet. ‘N***as shot your girl!’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She got hit by mistake, right? When I was 14 years old, I shot my friend in the stomach by mistake. We was playing with the gun, some s**t happened, and then I shot him in the stomach by mistake. I didn’t mean to shoot him.

“We still friends to this day,” Maino explained. “I’ve had a lot of gun accidents. That’s not the only [one]. S**t happens. When you playing in some type of life and you a young n***a, things can happen. When you outside and you involved in back-and-forths with other Black males, and you playing with guns and s**t like that, s**t can happen. Everybody knows that. Friendly fire is a thing, right? I’ve watched that happen many times. […] When you understand the context of that, then you can understand who I am and the way I deal with things. So when you talk about her getting hit, she wasn’t hit on purpose.”

Bronny James couldn’t help but comment on a picture of Parker Whitfield on Instagram, labeling her “so pretty,” as caught by TMZ. The flirty remark comes after the two attended the Paris Olympics together, earlier this month. That move quickly sparked dating rumors on social media. While Bronny is the son of NBA star LeBron James, Parker is the daughter of the daughter of Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Dondré Whitfield. Outside of the trip to France together and the fact that several members of the James family follow Parker, further details on their relationship are unknown.

At the Paris Olympics, Parker joined Bronny as they watched his father, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant, as well as the rest of Team USA, take home a gold medal. LeBron’s performance throughout the tournament ended up notching him the Olympics MVP award. It’s his third time winning a gold medal with Team USA.

Bronny’s Instagram comment comes after the Los Angeles Lakers selected him in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. The team’s owner, Jeanie Buss, recently said that the “sky is the limit” for the 19-year-old. “We have to let the kid have an opportunity to play and prove that he should be in a Laker uniform,” Buss said on the Petros and Money radio show. “And everything that we’ve seen from him and about him and his work ethic, just some of the things he’s had to overcome being the son of a big star. He works hard, he’s dedicated. He really wants to do this. And if we can have a roster of players with that same mentality, then I think the sky is the limit.”

That was certainly the case over the weekend when Brown sat down with the Aunt-Tea Podcast for a conversation with the likes of Tokyo Toni, Tia Kemp, and Karlissa Saffold. At one point during the conversation, Brown spoke on his relationship with Keyshia Cole. It was a short-lived relationship and Brown has his reasons why. Essentially, he claims that Cole wanted something serious and he didn’t. He also made the generalization that older women want to be “boo’d up.”

Tokyo Toni disagreed with Brown’s assessment. Floyd Mayweather has been engaging in some truly ridiculous exhibition matches as of late. Overall, these matches do not have an official winner and most of the time, they are simply a money grab. That was certainly the case over the weekend as Mayweather had a rematch against John Gotti III. If you remember, the last time these two fought, Gotti tried to fight Mayweather in between rounds and was subsequently expelled from the match.

In this latest fight, it was a referee who was actually removed from the proceedings. As you can see in the clip down below, Mayweather was given a penalty by the match’s original ref. However, Mayweather got angry and began to yell at the official. Eventually, he fired the ref and told him to get lost. From there, a new ref came into the fold and the match continued. It was all very bizarre, but that is par for the course when it comes to these exhibitions where the stakes are simply too low.

Floyd Mayweather Knows How To Put On A Show

Fans were not happy during the match, whatsoever. There were choruses of boos throughout the proceedings, and it was very clear that some felt as though their time had been completely wasted. It is unfortunate, but that is what you get when you go to these fights now. Hopefully, Floyd gives us something a bit more exciting the next time he steps into the ring. Otherwise, fans may begin to turn on him even more.

Hailie Jade says she can’t watch the music video for Eminem’s song, “Somebody Save Me,” without getting emotional. She discussed the track, which the legendary dedicated to her and her siblings, during an episode of her Just a Little Shady podcast. The music video features footage of her as a child while Eminem reflects on how his struggle with drugs and alcohol affected his parenting choices. “Another pill as I start to spiral / Message to my daughters / I don’t even deserve the father title/ Hailie, I’m so sorry / I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital,” he raps.

“Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I guess I’ll say watched, but I refused to watch again — the ‘Somebody Save Me’ music video is out and I did watch the thing,” Hailie said. “I watched it in its entirety. I don’t think I can do it again. I definitely cry every time I hear it at all. Between that and ‘Temporary’ … I mean, I can’t. I audibly sobbed I think for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary.’”

GloRilla Takes Swift Action Following R-Word Controversy

One of Memphis’ leading ladies, GloRilla, has been one having such a fantastic 2024. It’s been a mini resurgence of sorts, with some people out there feeling that her career was on the downswing. However, those theories are currently out the window as she has put out hit after hit it seems. “Yeah Glo!”, “TGIF”, and “Wanna Be” are just a few to list off. Unfortunately, the uber-confident MC put herself in a little bit of controversy this past weekend. GloRilla posted a snippet of an upcoming single on her social media and in the preview, she drops the R-word.

“Me and my b**** r******d,”, she openly states on what figures to be a song titled “Holon”. This led to heaps of backlash. “Why are we still using the R-word in 2024? I can’t get with this one”. “Ion like that R-word so it’s a no for me”. These are just a couple of disappointed reactions from fans online. Some were trying to defend her word usage. However, it is a very sensitive thing to say in any context. In fact, the Special Olympics says it’s even a form of hate speech.

Drake Backtracks After Teasing Round 2 With Kendrick Lamar

Drake may have been the one to label the Kendrick Lamar battle as “good exercise” and step away from their back-and-forth, but he apparently is still itching for another round. Moreover, a lot of his new “100 GIGS” material, whether its tracks or its footage, is about his place in the rap game amid his many beefs this year. Not only that, but Drizzy’s social media activity via his @plottttwistttttt IG burner also indicate that he’s feeling quite boastful and confident. In fact, he posted a Story of Rasheed Wallace proclaiming: “We will win Game 2,” which obviously sent many fans into a frenzy. Even DJ Akademiks tweeted the same thing this morning (Monday, August 26).

However, it seems like Drake only wanted to make this bold prediction for just a little bit, as he deleted this Instagram Story quickly. As such, Kendrick Lamar fans and OVO supporters alike are now theorizing as to what he could be leading up to. As for the latter group, they think that the 6ix God will eventually release footage of him “plotting for a week and feeding the information” to K.Dot during their battle, which he claimed on “The Heart Part 6.” Another theory is that this isn’t literally about a second round, but rather about him rising above his many rap rivals and still seeing massive success despite their efforts.

Drake’s Since-Deleted Boast About “Winning Game 2”

Either way, it looks like Drake doesn’t want to boast about this “Game 2” any further, but the message was already clear. Cole buying CDs of Born Sinner upon its release that year.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors that Kendrick Lamar will drop something very soon, but it’s anyone’s guess as to whether it will have anything to do with Drake. Some fans think that he’ll be more than happy to engage again, especially if his sworn enemy is on a high horse online right now, albeit a since-deleted one. Others doubt that the Compton lyricist will pick the carcass apart again, and argue that silence speaks volumes. We will see…
