On this date in 1995, Queens legends Onyx released their second full-length album All We Got Iz Us under Rush Associated Labels and the JMJ Records imprint.

It is reported that Def Jam Records’ Lyor Cohen offered Fredro Starr $1 million in 1994 to record Onyx’s second album while he was on the set of the movie Dangerous Minds. Fredro agreed, prompting him, Sonee Seeza and Sticky FIngaz to record 25 tracks for the new album, with only 15 of the songs making the final cut under the late Jam Master Jay’s directive. Two of the albums’ tracks, “Live Niguz” and “Last Dayz”, made it to 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 17 on the Hot Rap Singles, respectively. Onyx also created their own label, Armee Records, to which they signed the rap collective All City and Queens rapper Panama P.I., who also appeared on All We Got Iz Us.

This project received mixed reviews from the media. Still, it reached its level of success with tracks debuting in several silver screen classics, including Martin Lawrence and Will Smith’s Bad Boys as well as Eminem’s 8 Mile and Hip Hop documentary The Show.

Salute to Sticky Fingaz, Sonee Seeza, Fredro, All City, and JMJ for making this album a part of Hip Hop history!

Cardi B. Wishes Death On Offset In Barrage Of Angry Tweets

Cardi B Burlesque

Cardi B Burlesque

There is no secret that Cardi B and Offset have had their share of public blow ups, but a recently deleted assortment of tweets from Cardi B suggests that there’s a lot more tension between the two rappers than just an estranged couple who just can’t seem to agree on anything.

After Cardi’s recent run-in with Child Protective Services, in which an alleged prank caller called the agency to file a complaint against the rapper and how she cares for her three children. This prompted the agency to make a 11pm visit to the “Bodak Yellow” star’s residence and rightfully Cardi blew up on the unknown perpetrators on social media.

“So I wanna make this very f—ing clear, and I can’t even breathe right now,” she said in the video, captured by fans and shared on social media. “Motherf—ers have taken s— too f—ing far when you mess with my f—ing kids.”

Just a day later, Cardi put her estranged husband Offset in the crosshairs of one her social media rants and this time, it doesn’t seem like there’s any intent on coming back from it. Cardi wanted to make it clear that she has nothing positive to say about the Migos member and even hinted towards wishing him death.

“Bro I wish the worst on this man,” she asserted. “I never hated somebody soooo much and these b*tches be so [thirsty] to have him.”

However, even in the heat of her insults and obvious hate, Cardi assured other X users that Offset was not the one who called CPS on her and that she was emphatically sure that he was in no way involved. Nevertheless, this did not keep Cardi from wishing the worst on the father of her three children.

In the early days of Def Jam, there were only a handful of groups managed by then founder and owner Rick Rubin and the Beastie Boys were one of those initial Def Jam groups. One of the first solo artists on the label, a teenager at the time who called himself LL Cool J, was actually scouted by the Beastie Boys’ Ad Rock, who tells the story in an exclusive interview of how he brought James Todd Smith to Rick Rubin in 1984.

Ad Rock, whose real name is Adam Horovitz, claims that he made the beat for LL’s 1985 seminal hit “I Need A Beat” on an 808 drum machine that he’d just purchased with his last $250. Rock said he was stuck between choosing a guitar or the drum machine, but the burgeoning Hip Hop legend chose the latter, which was instrumental in the spawning of the production of the Beastie Boys’ debut album License To Ill in 1986.

Elon Musk Calls Eminem a ‘Diddy Party Participant’ for Supporting VP Kamala Harris

Elon Musk isn’t happy that Eminem is supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the election. With news breaking of Slim Shady introducing former president Barack Obama at a Detroit rally, Musk would levy a wild allegation on Em’s name.

Seeing the message, Musk wrote in regards to Eminem: “Yet another Diddy party participant.”

You can see it below.

As far as the accusations, it’s highly unlikely Eminem was at any Diddy “freak off.” Eminem took some very vicious shots at Diddy on his new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de grâce): Expanded Mourner’s Edition, where Em recruits Shady Records’ Westside Boogie and Grip while he delves into Hip Hop’s most reputed unsolved murders and he pulls no punches about who the culprit is.

On “Fuel” Shady goes in on the troubled mogul, rapping, “So who’ll be picked next, whose name gonna be next up? / Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effect of Tupac’s murder / Like facial tissue, whose clock should I clean next? Puff’s? / ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up? / Like gee, never turned himself in, who knows all the murders there’ll have been?!?”

The original version of Fuel featured J.Cole’s artist JID, who, among other things, criticized Diddy for the infamous Cassie video.

The Bad Boy founder always denied any involvement in the shooting deaths of either Big or ‘Pac and there’s no evidence that he will be subpoenaed in Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ ongoing murder trial in Vegas.

Eminem fans are actually upset with his latest offering, complaining about the long wait for an album that only contains three tracks.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Doesn’t See Menendez Brothers as ‘Danger to Society’

Erik and Lyle Menendez are just days away from a possible recommendation of new sentencing for their past crimes. Still, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón says the brothers are not considered a danger to society.

“Based on everything that I know, I don’t believe that they are,” Gascón said to PEOPLE in an interview. “Quite frankly, they probably haven’t been for a very long time, if they ever were. I think this is not like they were going around killing people or robbing people on the street.”

He added that the decision would come by the end of the week after speaking with internal government units. “That also plays a role. Because they’re not just sort of an agnostic presenter. They’re going to be presenting what they think should be the outcome. I expect one will be saying, ‘No relief,’ one will be saying, ‘Yes, provide relief,’ and I’ll evaluate both of them.”

After the recommendation, a final decision will have to be made by a judge.

Just cause the District Attorney doesn’t see them as a threat, Gascón notes some in his office do not believe the molestation claims the Menendez Brothers presented as reasons they killed their parents. “There are some people in my office that believe that there is no evidence of molestation. I don’t agree with that, but that’s certainly the position that some people have taken, and they believe that they should stay in prison the rest of their life.”

Polo G Announces Fall Tour: 'THE HOOD POET TOUR 2024'

According to a recent report from TMZ, Taurus Bartlett, who is known to the Hip Hop world as Polo G, was arrested over the weekend after police found a loaded gun in his car during a traffic stop in Los Angeles.

Polo was allegedly speeding in the San Fernando Valley on Saturday afternoon when police pulled him over. After the LAPD conducted a search of his vehicle, during which they retrieved a loaded handgun. He was arrested and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon.

The “Hood Poet” rapper was recently caught with an illegal weapon in a hotel room in NYC back in April after housekeeping found a handgun that the rapper left behind. He’s also still facing weapons charges from last year after police in Burbank, California caught him and his team with several weapons.

Polo is currently still behind bars, which can actually create an even larger issue due to the fact that his Hood Poet Tour with Skilla Baby is set for its first stop on Thursday in Denver.

adidas Debuts Bad Bunny & Messi Exclusive Sneaker, Cleat Campaign

Today, adidas Originals announces a one-of-a-kind partnership between two global superstars, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, and soccer legend Lionel Messi. The Bad Bunny & Messi Collection celebrates the incredible connection between music and sport, two passions that unite fans across the world, and pays homage to the individual legacies of Bad Bunny and Messi, while cementing adidas’ role in culture.

Bad Bunny has long admired Messi, referencing the soccer superstar in his music, including five mentions in his latest album. Messi, in turn, has expressed his own admiration for the Puerto Rican artist, revealing that seven Bad Bunny tracks are included on his personal pre-game playlist. As two adidas ambassadors, this collaboration reflects a deep mutual respect between the two stars — two titans in their fields — pushing the boundaries of their respective crafts.

The Bad Bunny & Messi Collection draws inspiration from adidas heritage models, materials, and colorways from its rich brand archives. It features two of adidas’ most celebrated silhouettes – the adidas Gazelle and the adidas F50 cleat. The F50 has been worn by Messi throughout his playing career and is widely recognized as one of the best soccer cleats of all time. The Gazelle has evolved from being worn in indoor soccer gyms to a lifestyle footwear icon and one of Bad Bunny’s favorite styles.

Screenshot 2024 10 21 at 2.04.15 PM

Each model in the collection pays tribute to individual trophies honoring Messi’s status as the best male footballer in the world, with gold hues inspired by the prestigious trophy and design elements like the ‘X’ stripe heel that reference Messi’s number 10 jersey number. The blue accents connect the designs to adidas’ heritage, blending tradition with excellence. Both the Gazelle and F50 models feature the signatures of Bad Bunny and Messi on their famous stripes, symbolizing their mutual respect and enduring legacy. The shoes also sport the Trefoil and Badge of Sport logos, along with the inscription ‘Bad Bunny Para Messi’ on the tongue. These designs transcend their original athletic purpose, fostering a new community that merges sport, music, fashion, and creative expression.

“Messi’s last name has become its own word, a synonym for greatness, courage and heart,” said Benito Martinez Ocasio. “Watching him play with the passion he does is a privilege. I compare the love he feels for his country and his sport to the love I feel for music and Puerto Rico. Collaborating with him is an honor that so many people dream of and I never even imagined I could achieve it. Today, I feel so grateful to be able to represent our culture with the GOAT.”

“This campaign celebrates our fans. Seeing people who follow me and support me does more than just inspire me, it makes me feel very grateful. I always try to give everything I have on the pitch, so it’s great to see that there are people who appreciate that effort and always support me, even in bad times,” said Lionel Messi. On the collaboration with Benito, he commented, “Music is connected to many aspects of my life, and Bad Bunny is an artist who is never missing from my playlist.”

To coincide with the launch, adidas is releasing a campaign that commemorates this groundbreaking partnership by honoring the millions of Bad Bunny and Messi fans who have voiced their devotion through social media, in the stands, and beyond, over the years. At the center of the campaign is a touching letter, crafted from the heartfelt words of fans on Instagram, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter). This powerful message is brought to life in a short film featuring Messi and Bad Bunny, who read excerpts from the letter which begins with a soulful truth for both stars, “this country wouldn’t be the same,” says Messi, “… if you were born anywhere else,” continues Bad Bunny.

With a focus on creativity and excellence, this collection redefines the interplay between soccer and music, creating a moment that will resonate far beyond the worlds of sport and entertainment.

The Bad Bunny & Messi F50 will be available globally at RRP 300 EU. The Bad Bunny & Messi Gazelle will be available exclusively in North & South America at RRP 180 EUR. Sign-ups for the collection will be available on the CONFIRMED and adidas flagship apps starting October 21st, and in adidas flagship stores starting October 26th.
