The Houston, Texas producer continued his series of Beats That Collected Dust with the third volume. On the singles side of things, he has worked with some underground names and more mainstream artists too. Namely, he teamed up with Westside Gunna and Rome Streetz on “Runway.” This time, he is back, but with a rerelease of song from 21 years ago.

Dame D.O.L.L.A Adds Five New Tracks With “Don D.O.L.L.A Life Lately Edition”

Damian Lillard is known for killing it on the hardwood. He is one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA. But, if you did not know, he has consistently been scorching hot on the mic since 2015. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard came out with his first full project The Letter O in 2016 and one of the standout moments from that record was “Loyal to the Soil” with Lil Wayne.

Since, then Dame D.O.L.L.A, which is his rap alter ego, has continued to drop quite a bit of material. In fact, four more tapes have been released since that point. Dame definitely enjoys stepping into the booth and finding that creative release whenever possible. He was able to do that once again this year with Don D.O.L.L.A.

Omarion Released Sped-Up Version Of “Post To Be,” Fans Clown Him For It

2014 was a year of many big-time hits for the rap and R&B genres. One of them that sort of flies under the radar is Omarion’s “Post to Be.” It has tons of star-studded talent all over it. From the features of Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko to the production from Mike Free and Mustard it had the makings of a special song. Sure enough, it became just that. According to AllHipHop, some of these charting numbers are insane. In its debut, the track reached as high as No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Omarion and the producers did a great job of making it a versatile song too. You could play it at the club, a beach or pool hangout, or cruise to it during the summer. After nine years of the song sitting on the shelves, it sits at nearly 448 million streams on Spotify. However, even with the major success of the single, Omarion is seen as more of a one-hit-wonder to many. Sped-up versions of songs are becoming more and more popular as of late and he decided to hop on the trend.

Well, that may not have been the best idea it turns out. The sped-up version was released a couple of days ago and fans were not enjoying it one bit. “Cobra” has turned a new leaf for a lot of haters of Megan Thee Stallion. Instead of coming back with the familiar sound we have come to expect from the Texas rapper, she surprised a lot of people. Easily her most personal song to date, Meg unleashes all of her demons that she has been doing battle with for quite some time. Many listeners, even Joe Budden, had nothing but praise for it.

Now, to build upon the hype of the song, Megan decided to bring an interesting twist. If you have heard it, you know that includes some guitar, including some killer shredding toward the backend. It really added to the raw emotion and lyrics that she provided. So, Megan went ahead and recruited an alternative metal band to assist in transforming the cut.

She called upon Spiritbox, a Canadian-based band, that includes the talents of guitarist, Mike Stringer, and vocalist, Courtney LaPlante. Billboard got some quotes from LaPlante and Stringer, as both thanked Megan for the opportunity. LaPlante said, “Thank you Megan for allowing us the opportunity to collaborate on your already iconic new song “Cobra.” I am beyond grateful to you.” Stringer goes, “Thank you to Megan for trusting us to mash up both of our worlds. Nothing but respect, and gratitude. It’s an absolute honor.”
