Ransom Unleashes His Third Project Of The Year With “SPOIL THE ROD, SPARE THE CHILD”

It has been a busy year to say the least for Brooklyn’s own, Ransom. The storied career of this hip-hop artist will go down as one that is iconic but also underappreciated. A true wordsmith and intimidating MC, Ransom has been pumping quality since the late 2000s. Already this year, the prolific rapper has put out two EPs and an album to boot.

The first of which was the LP, Directors Cut 4. It featured artists such as Nicholas Craven, Che Noir, Tali Kweli, and more. Then, after that, only a couple of weeks went by before we were delightedly treated to Ransom’s first EP of the year with Deleted Scenes 2. That was a full collab effort with Nicholas Craven in the booth. The song titles were cleverly named after movie titles of different genres.

Mike also laced the stacked tracklists with great writing and storytelling on tracks like “MOTHERLESS” and “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS.” Finally, the production credits here are more than respectable. JID & Lil Yachty Offer Two-Track EP “Blakkboyz Present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh”

JID and Lil Yachty are two artists who are known for operating within two different lanes. Firstly, the former is an incredible MC when it comes to rapping fast while also telling a story. Secondly, Yachty is mostly known for his ability to give you autotuned melodies and a mix of genres. However, he has proven himself to be quite the spitter when he wants to be. That said, it still felt pretty unlikely that these two would come through with a collaborative song or even a project.

However, they stunned fans this week when they revealed that they would drop two new tracks together. They are doing so under the duo name Blakkboyz, and fans are curious if this could lead to a new album. That said, they are testing the waters with these two songs. The first of these songs is called “Half Doin Dope” which features BabyTron. Moreover, they also came through with Van Gogh, which doesn’t have any other artists listed.

Trippie Redd Previews New Songs With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

Despite multiple delays, it seems like Trippie Redd’s A Love Letter To You 5 is finally arriving soon, as it’s scheduled to drop tomorrow (Friday, August 11). Moreover, there have been a slew of singles for the project as well, whether it was to hold fans over for the delay or as part of the rollout process. Regardless, we’ve gotten a lot of heat from the Ohio native as of late, and it looks like this new album will bring us that much more. Furthermore, Trippie recently teased two new tracks on his Instagram, one featuring Lil Wayne and one featuring The Kid LAROI. He seems quite excited to finally share this with fans, as he often is with them on social media.

First up is “I’m Mad At Me” with Weezy, which takes things back to a more old-school hip-hop sound with a beautiful sample chop and crisp boom-bap drums. With the iconic lighter flick and all, Tunechi comes through with a steady and charismatic flow after Trippie Redd opened the snippet up with some bars of his own. It’s clean, soulful, and an exciting shift for Trippie considering his most prominent and popular output. All in all, it’s exactly what longtime fans want from such a versatile figure in the rap game.

Trippie Redd’s New Material With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

On the other hand, “Wind” with The Kid LAROI features impassioned vocals from him and a slinky bassline. From the melody and instrumental aesthetics, this is more up the MANSION MUSIK MC’s traditional alley. It’s moodier, more languid, and the lyrics are more heartbroken. In fact, it seems like this track is going to show off a lot of vocal chemistry between LAROI and Trippie Redd. For example, their singing tones and inflections are quite similar in this snippet, especially with Trippie’s dramatic and climactic chorus.

Meanwhile, previous singles like “Left 4 Dead” already gave fans a taste of the sounds the 24-year-old will play with on ALLTY5. He’s nothing if not a musical chameleon, which makes any project all the more exciting to listen to. We’ll see if “I’m Mad At Me” and “Wind” are album highlights, or if there’s even better cuts on there. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Trippie Redd.

Tiffany Haddish Denies Knowing Dale Moss After Kiss, Previews New Songs

Tiffany Haddish recently spoke to Andy Cohen about the rumors flying around that she kissed former football player and reality TV star Dale Moss. Moreover, the actress and comedian straight-up denied knowing who he even was before remembering a brief conversation that they had at Cannes Lions, where she also twerked with Lizzo onstage. Not only that, but she denied all claims that they got together, explaining that Moss approached her when she was talking to someone else. “OK, so, he gave me a hug he had said something, and I told him his breath was stinky,” Haddish stated. In fact, she even suggested that he fabricated the story and was actually kissing someone else.

Outside of the rumor mill, Tiffany Haddish actually has a lot to look forward to in the foreseeable future. For example, the 43-year-old is apparently looking to revive her rap career, and previewed two new tracks at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards. One of them features Lil Jon, while the other features none other than E-40, and both are incredibly energetic. Maybe she’ll drop in time for the summer, but if not, the cuts will surely heat up those colder months if they hit.

Tiffany Haddish’s New Music

Still, it hasn’t been all peaches and cream for the star. Last year, she addressed backlash and a lawsuit over a skit that she made alongside Aries Spears through which they allegedly harassed a young pair of siblings. “This is me happy to see how my God works,” Tiffany Haddish wrote on Instagram concerning the online hate. “Some people said things to me, and God went ahead and showed me who they really are. Thank you for that God. I know you got big things for me to do and I can’t have user and fleas on me while I am completing my assignment you gave to me. I Love you Father God. Oh could you make sure that anyone who post something negative on my page gets cr*zy Diarrhea to where their booty hole hurts. I Love you Amen.”

Meanwhile, she faced pushback for something else just a few months ago, this time for an insensitive tweet about the Jonathan Majors situation. The public has been on her for a minute, but she continues to find success and push that to the side. Hopefully her next moves focus on herself and not on others. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Tiffany Haddish.

Kendrick Lamar Songs From 2013 Surface Online

Kendrick Lamar has been on top of the rap game for a decade, and even his leaks get more buzz than a lot of big releases. Moreover, two new songs from the Compton legend from 2013 just surfaced online, these being “Crooked” and “Burn.” The former is a West Coast banger with chopped organ samples, a G-funk-inspired synth, and sharp snares. On the other hand, “Burn” has some jazzier tendencies, like warm piano chords, dynamic bass, and a simple backbeat. Of course, both are lyrical gems, with Kendrick’s storytelling, hard-hitting phrasing, vivid detail, and shifting flows on full display.

Furthermore, every new leak from the “Hood Politics” MC continues to prove the consistency and interconnectivity of his catalog. However, that’s not even referring to the quality of the track, although his consistency extends to that, as well. Instead, it’s fascinating to see the thematic and narrative throughlines in his career stretching all the way to Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. His personal experience lended him a nuanced but still gritty perspective on race, violence, and morality, and it’s one that he’s been perfecting for years.

2013-Era Kendrick Lamar Tracks Surface

Still, that’s not to say that Kendrick Lamar has only stuck to that comfort zone throughout his career. The 35-year-old is as prone to dropping an introspective track like “Father Time” as he is a banger like “DNA,” which recently celebrated its sixth anniversary. With that said, leaks also give fans a peek at the creative process it took to get to landmark albums like To Pimp A Butterfly. If these leaks are our only reference point, we can assume that he started off making grimier and more classically hip-hop centric tracks. Eventually, that turned into the fusion of jazz, funk, soul, rap, spoken word, and much more that became one of the best albums of the decade.

Meanwhile, it’s staggering to hear quality leaks like these at the same time as the pgLang boss reaches some of his highest commercial peeks. It’s like we’re constantly seeing two sides to Kendrick, which is unsurprising given his artistic attention to the concept of duality. Still, it’s crazy to think that ten years after recording, these songs would’ve still hit hard at the highest-grossing rap tour of all time. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kendrick Lamar.

21 Lil Harold Shines On New Single, “Out Of Time”

21 Lil Harold is preparing to have a busy year in 2023. Coming off a breakthrough year in 2022, the Slaughter Gang rapper is keeping his foot on the gas.

His mixtape, LARRY, arrived in March last year. Dedicating the project to his late friend, the deluxe version came just a month later, featuring “Good Times” with Offset. Along with tracks like “Robbin Season” and “Damn” with G Herbo, the Atlanta native showcases his storytelling abilities and unique delivery. Thanks to his infectious energy and candid reflection, it’s clear why he’s 21 Savage‘s protegé.

On Friday (January 6), 21 Lil Harold dropped off a brand new single, “Out of Time,” along with an accompanying video. The song further cements him as one of the most promising rising stars in the game.

Although the song clocks in at just under two minutes, the “Savage” rapper makes his presence known. A choir sample kicks off the new track before the booming 808s enter and Harold wastes no time in flexing. “500, Richard Millie / I can see me now, I’m turnin’ up my city / I got these young b*tches goin’ crazy, all these freak h*es / I know you gettin’ money back then, but your car repoed,” he raps with ease in the first verse.

His official debut album, After the Curse, is set to release next Friday (January 13). “Out of Time” serves as its third single, along with the aforementioned “Robbin Season” and “Damn.”

Make sure to stream 21 Lil Harold’s “Out of Time” on either Spotify or SoundCloud below. Comment your thoughts afterwards. Finally, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest releases.

Quotable Lyrics:

Got no respect for no sucka, no busta, no b*tch n*gga
Better hop down, b*tch, ’cause I’m a rich n*gga
Why your boyfriend stay mad?
‘Cause he ain’t it, n*gga

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Shares PnB Rock-Assisted “Needed That”

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie is fresh off the release of his fourth studio album, Me vs. Myself. The 22-track project boasts features from Roddy Ricch, Kodak Black, Lil Durk and more.

The long-awaited album was originally slated to arrive on November 4. However, this turned out to be the date that Drake and 21 Savage released their collaborative effort, Her Loss.

PnB Rock (L) and A Boogie wit da Hoodie attend the A Boogie wit da Hoodie Album Release Party. (Photo by Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

As a result, the “Drowning” rapper decided to delay his release. “Sorry but album dropping in December now, Drake was dropping the same day and I’m not with that,” he wrote in a statement to his Instagram Story.

After much anticipation, Me vs. Myself finally saw a release on Friday (December 9).

Three days later, the 27-year-old is back to drop off a bonus track; the PnB Rock-featuring “Needed That.” Appearing on the deluxe version of the album, the collab is placed at the very top of the original tracklist.

The reflective track finds the duo dealing with the effects of a failed relationship. In the process, they can be heard turning the negatives into positives. “Stabbed me in my back, you had me bleedin’ bad,” croons PnB Rock. “Did it to myself, I guess it’s all my fault,” A Boogie continues.

Additionally, the song serves as the Highbridge native’s effort to celebrate his late friend’s life. The Philadelphia-born singer and the New York native had a close relationship and were frequent collaborators.

For example, “Beast Mode” alongside YoungBoy NBA and “Put You On” are two of their most successful tracks together.

Furthermore, this feature is the first posthumously-released verse from the “Cross Me” singer. It’s only right that it arrives on a new song from one of his closest friends in the industry.

Unfortunately, Rock was tragically murdered in September. The “Selfish” singer was reportedly eating at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffle restaurant in Los Angeles when he was the victim of an armed robbery. He was only 30 years old.

Regardless of the initial delay, it certainly seems as though the album release worked out. Friday would have been the father of two’s 31st birthday.

Finally, stream A Boogie’s collab with PnB Rock on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterwards, make sure to share your thoughts on the new track below.

R.I.P. PnB Rock.

Quotable Lyrics:

Tryna drown my pain out with this Styrofoam
And on days when you see me I be all alone
Birthday in December, she left me in the winter
Everything was different, that’s what I remember
