He hails from the historic and colorful city of Philadelphia. Artists who have been contributing to its exuberance include Lil Uzi Vert, Armani White, and Tierra Whack. However, 2Rare might need to start being in those conversations, especially with songs like “C4.”

He may not be as innovative or creative as those names, but he is trying to perfect the club anthems. “C4” may be one of his best outings yet. Especially since the 23-year-old rapper is bringing along some artists who know a thing or two about making bangers. In this instance he is working alongside Rob49, and Detroit rising star, Skilla Baby.

One of the standout qualities of this song is the lush and carefree production. Of course, it’s got the traditional resonant bass, hi-hats and kick drums. However, the twinkly sound effects laced on top when 2Rare’s chorus pops in, gives it an early 2000s feel in a way. Each rapper also breathes some extra life into “C4” with their high energy and sometimes hilarious bars.

Eminem Teases Release Date For New Music (And It’s Very Soon)

Eminem has been taking a unique approach to the rollout for his upcoming album. He announced The Death of Slim Shady with a true crime parody video, and then he had an obituary for Slim printed in the Detroit Free Press. It’s looking like The Death of Slim Shady will be Eminem’s most ambitious album in years, and based on the latest piece of material released, it won’t be long until fans get to hear what it sounds like.

Eminem posted a video of a text exchange on his Instagram. The contact info at the top reads: “All contacts,” and the message that gets sent out reads: “And for my last trick!” This video furthers the notion that the upcoming album will be the end of the line for Slim Shady as a character. The biggest revelation, though, is the time in which the text message is sent. The message says Friday, May 31 at 12:00 AM, which means fans can expect something major to happen on this date. It’s not made clear what the “something” will be.

The most likely outcome is a new single. Some fans took to the comment section to theorize that Em is dropping the entire album on May 31, but the video teaser announcing The Death of Slim Shady stated that it will drop in the summer. Seeing as summer doesn’t officially start until late June, it’s safe to state that Eminem will be sitting on the album for a bit longer. The Detroit rapper first teased the idea of new music back in January. He told Shade 45 listeners that he was “working on a little something,” and also teased a potential collaboration with 50 Cent.

“I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad,” Eminem said. “We need another 50 album, like, really bad. 50’s on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour. I told him whatever the f*ck he needs from me, I’m here.” Em even entertained the idea of an entire joint album. “That sh*t’d be crazy, though,” he posited. “An album with me and him.” Em and 50 attended the unveiling of Dr. Dre’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March. 50 also made a cameo in the Death of Slim Shady announcement video.

Sid Sriram Drops A Calm & Heavenly New Single With “One Day God”: Stream

Whether it’s Carnatic music, indie rock, or R&B stylings, Sid Sriram is always here to impress, captivate, and emotionally resonate. Moreover, he just released the new single “One Day God,” which almost leans into more ambient territory thanks to a relative lack of melody, atmospheric synths and string arrangements, soft guitar licks, and largely disjointed or improvisational-feeling lyrics. The “Moments Of Weakness” creative’s subject matter is one of indignation, speaking on children dying and deities feeling disappointed in how we’ve let the world turn out. “When will we learn?” he sings towards the last third of the song, which outlines a tender and gut-punching melody with much more clarity.

Furthermore, Sid Sriram made more of a healing, calming, and meditative cut with “One Day God,” although the passion throughout is still palpable. The string swells eventually overwhelm the rest of the production in a powerful way, and his voice is just as evocative and compelling in its softest whispers and most boisterous cries. It’s a very beautiful song, and one worthy of the artistic accomplishments of years past like the LP Sidharth while pushing things in even more of a new and unique direction. The Chennai, India-born, California-raised artist builds a new and more tranquil appeal with this record, and one that we’re very excited to see develop and evolve further down the road.

Recently, Homixide Gang came out with a brand-new banger called “R50.” They had been teasing this new track for quite some time, and on Friday, they finally released it with a music video. KILLY Rocks A Unique Delivery Over A Wintery Beat On “FR33ZING”

KILLY, Canadian/Filipino rapper, has been an active voice in 2024. The soon-to-be 27-year-old has dropped multiple singles and two-packs over these first five and half months. He began the year with POP 2, a twofer of tracks with Fourfive and Dom Corleo back in February. Then, in early March, he flew solo on ALL CAPS, which featured the self-titled cut and “GLEE.” Finally, at the end of that same month, he linked up with Bedoes 2115, mlody klakson, kittiesloverage, 2115, and francis for “EMBASSY / AMBASADA.”

Now, KILLY is back with a new solo effort that sticks to his dark trap rap roots called “FR33ZING.” Out of all of his drops this year, this is arguably his most intriguing and best. He has a pretty distinctive auto-tuned voice to begin with, but he experiments a little more this time around. KILLY goes into a deeper register to fit the frigid beat he is spitting over.

He was clearly locked in for this studio session, as his energy level and animated adlibs are proof of that. The “Killamonjaro” MC does a great job of bringing a cadence that matches the wintery vibe. The instrumental is also a nice change of pace, with its cold chimes and bells and rounded bass. We recommend “FR33ZING” over anything we have heard him put forth in 2024.

RXKNephew Makes It Clear That There Are “No Handouts” On Latest Single

If you are not familiar with RXKNephew, you better get with the program! He has been thriving in the underground scene of New York and has developed quite a unique sound. Nephew brings an unorthodox flow that you really are not going to find anywhere else. On top of that, his is also a wild card, as each release is a blind listen. His approach varies from track to track. From stone-faced to tongue in cheek, you really cannot go into a new song and expect anything. It is why each release we cover of his is always so intriguing. Today, RXKNephew has dropped another single called “No Handouts,” which follows up on a bevy of records. One of them includes his commentary on the now lingering Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef.

He did so by hopping on the “BBL DRIZZY” diss instrumental that Metro Boomin released about two weeks ago. However, he did not just focus on them. RXKNephew name dropped Rick Ross, Kanye West, Gunna, Meek Mill, and more. “No Handouts” also supersedes “Money Can’t Replace Time,” which is a promo record for his upcoming project Till I’m Dead 2. That is due at the end of May, and “No Handouts” could be another title to appear on his seventh LP of the year.

Like “Money Can’t Replace Time,” Nephew is taking a more conventional approach, both instrumentally and with his flow. There is a slight discrepancy between how his rapping matches up with the beat. But for the most part it follows suit. “No Handouts” is one of his darkest tracks, especially beat wise, which is provided by Brainstorm. It is trap-flavored and switches up a couple of times to an even more cavernous level. RXKNephew has one with “No Handouts.”

GloRilla & Snoop Dogg Have A Trippy Smoke Sesh In “High AF” Music Video

Many felt that GloRilla was trailing off a bit in 2023 after not having a hit for quite some time. However, the script has been flipped on its head in 2024 so far. The rowdy Memphis, Tennessee rapper has changed that narrative with her new mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang. Led by the February lead single “Yeah Glo!” and her first-ever collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, “Wanna Be,” it was one of the stronger releases in April. Undoubtedly, the latter is a song of the summer candidate as it sure to be played at loads of outdoor parties and clubs. On top of notching that track with the Texas femcee, they are now touring together. Now, GloRilla can check off working with Snoop Dogg off her list with the music video for “High AF” out.

This is now the third cut to receive the visual treatment, as the two promotional records are the others to have some. “High AF” is self-explanatory, as Big Glo raps about recreational smoking and the common side effects. The accompanying music video does a hilarious job at bringing the lyrics to life. Consequently, there is a scene in which GloRilla is “cooking” some weed over a stovetop.

Furthermore, she gives the visuals some weed street cred by calling on smoking legend Snoop Dogg. He makes a few cameos throughout, showing off his new spiked beverage, Gin & Juice, in the process. Lupe Fiasco Sounds Cool As Ever On His New Single “Samurai”

It would be a colossal understatement to describe Lupe Fiasco as “good at rhyming.” From a technical standpoint, he’s one of the gifted rappers to ever touch a microphone. It’s less of an opinion and more of a statement of fact, two decades into his career. The issue with Lupe has never been his songwriting. It’s been his instrumental choices. Lasers, his third studio album, was perceived by many as an act of career sabotage due to its commercial sound and cheesy radio hooks. That was 2011, though. Lupe has been on an absolute tear over the last decade, and “Samurai” suggests he isn’t stopping anytime soon.

“Samurai” is the lead single for Lupe’s album of the same name. It’s an apt title, given the rapper’s interest in Japanese culture, and his verbal proficiency. It would be on the nose to say that Lupe is the rap equivalent of a Samurai, but we don’t have to worry because he says it himself here. Lupe skates on this new song, dishing out double and triple entendres about the state of the world. There’s a wistfulness to the rapper’s verses, and seeing as its the first song on the album, it’s safe to assume the rest of it will bear a similar feel.

Lupe Fiasco Continues To Lyrically Dazzle

The instrumental is an absolute winner. Lupe Fiasco has gradually honed his ear for beats over the last few years, and he’s fully come back around to the jazzy sound that fans fell in love with on his first two albums. “Samurai” feels like a sonic successor to classic Lupe cuts like “Sunshine” and “Paris, Tokyo.” The comparison might be lofty, but it’s apt. Lupe’s previous single, “LLC,” is not listed on the Samurai tracklist. Still, the quality of all these songs has us excited for what actually makes the cut.
