Fly Anakin Shines On New Single, “Blicky Bop”

Fly Anakin continues to be one of underground hip-hop’s greatest talents. Just a couple weeks into 2023, it appears as though he’s keeping his foot on the gas.

Fresh off his successful year in 2022, the Virginia native is evidently looking to keep his momentum going into the new year. Earlier this week, Anakin dropped off his newest single, “Blicky Bop.”

It serves as the first single for the “No Dough” rapper’s forthcoming album, Skinemaxxx (Side A). The project will be produced entirely by fellow Mutant Academy artist, Foisey. It’s set to arrive later this year, on April 5.

On “Blicky Bop,” Anakin shows off his knack for witty rhymes and his singular vocabulary that make him such a unique emcee.

“Too bad I won’t be there for your ass, you made me mad today / N*ggas I ain’t seen in years, don’t trust you dawg, I’m sad to say / Told them hoes, ‘Don’t call my phone, don’t care if it’s my birthday’ / Richard Pryor want enough, I gave you more of that free bass,” he raps in the first verse.

Additionally, an accompanying music videos comes along with the new track. The trippy visuals help contribute to the song’s vibe, as Anakin’s hurried flow effectively compliments the spacey production.

The 28-year-old’s latest offering is his official debut album from last year, the stellar Frank. Featuring some frequent collaborators like Pink Siifu, Nickelus F and Big Kahuna Og, the 17-track project finds Anakin further showcasing his storytellinh abilities and unique flows. Furthermore, the production and some of his vocal deliveries draw from classic R&B and Soul music.

Millyz Drops Fiery New Song, “YOYO”

Millyz is gearing up to have another great year in 2023. As he continues to bring his momentum into the new year, he returned on Friday (January 13) to drop his brand new single, “YOYO.”

Produced by Rvssian, the booming 808s combine with the bright strings to provide the Massachusetts rapper with a drill-inspired backdrop. Over the beat, Millyz takes his turn at effortlessly flexing his lifestyle and rapping abilities.

He wastes no time showing off his lyricism. “I seen my dawg turn b*tch and I seen real turn fake / There’s too many rats and snakes / Stick in the back of the Wraith / Tell ’em ‘back up,’ need space,” he kicks off his first verse.

“Shorty a demon, face of an angel / My diamond chains get tangled / I’m in the field, stripes like a bengal,” the 31-year-old explicitly continues in his second verse.

Additionally, an accompanying music video also arrives alongside the new song. During the entertaining video, he turns up to his new banger at various different locations.

Over the course of the past several years, the 31-year-old lyricist has been consistently working towards keeping his Blanco series alive. The most recent addition is the fifth instalment, Blanco 5. The 17-track tape was released last August and boasts features from the likes of Jadakiss, Fivio Foreign, Mozzy and others. The original instalment saw its release in 2018.

Millyz is also a frequent collaborator of Chris Webbby and the late great DJ Kay Slay. Additionally, he appears on Jadakiss‘ last solo album, 2020’s Ignatius. On “Gov’t Cheese,” he joins DeJ Loaf and Nino Man for an expressive song about fighting through tribulations.

Logic Drops First Single, “Wake Up” From Forthcoming Album, “College Park”

Logic has flirted with retirement from the rap game before. However, it really seems as though the Maryland native loves hip-hop too much to actually commit to never releasing another album.

On Friday (January 13), the 32-year-old dropped his brand new single, “Wake Up.” Featuring Lucy Rose narrating the outro, the track finds Logic candidly reflecting on his journey and career thus far. He does so in one lengthy, conscious verse.

“I went through the worst, but I made it out / Like the Alpha Omega, to show me which way it could go, yeah, he laid it out / Instead of just sittin’ on a beach, I’m reconnectin’ with the streets / It wasn’t payin’ attention, I was prayin’ for a cent,” raps the future father of two.

“And on a beautiful autumn day in 2011, Logic and his best friends drive through the slums of College Park in a Chevy Impala,” narrates frequent collaborator, Lucy Rose, come the track’s end. She goes on to perfectly paint the picture of Logic’s come-up and success.

The song serves as the first single to his forthcoming album, College Park. It will be his debut independent album, after finishing his contract with Def Jam with last year’s Vinyl Days. The project comes out on February 24 and will feature RZA, Redman, Joey Bada$$ and more.

Furthermore, the single’s album cover is reminiscent of Logic’s classic 2014 album, Under Pressure. It will certainly be interesting to see whether or not College Park follows a similar format.

Quotable Lyrics:

Gucci Mane & Kodak Black Deliver On New Song, “King Snipe”

Both Gucci Mane and Kodak Black had extremely busy years in 2022, dropping multiple projects each. The rappers are evidently looking to stay hot as they enter 2023.

On Friday (January 13), the duo dropped their brand new collaborative single, “King Snipe.” The “Both” rapper took to his Twitter account to tease the song on Tuesday (January 10). “Guwop and Zuwop dropping another classic Friday,” the Alabama native writes in his tweet.

Kodak kicks things off with a triumphant verse. “When them bullets had came my way, I say, ‘I bet Kodak ain’t dyin’ / We put murders backwards after, we turned red rum to wine / I’m that n*gga that smack all the smackers, so I’m the biggest stepper,” the 25-year-old raps with confidence.

“I’ve been true to this from the jump / When I do it, consider it done / F*ck a shooter, b*tch, ’cause I’m one / On point like I’m a dot,” he subsequently raps as part of the track’s hook.

When Gucci comes in for his sole feature verse, he spits a verse reminiscent of his prime mixtape days. “Told her ring up, they didn’t know the amount / Expensive new ferries, I couldn’t even pronounce,” he spits.

The new song also arrives with an accompanying music video.

Of course, this is certainly not the first time that Gucci and Kodak have released music together. Their first track “Vibin In This Bih” is a standout on the Florida native’s 2016 mixtape, Lil Big Pac. Most notably, however, they collaborated in 2018 for the mega-hit, “Wake Up in the Sky” with Bruno Mars.

Offset & Hit-Boy Link Up For “2 LIVE”

Offset and Hit-Boy have united for an entertaining new single in “2 LIVE.”

Although he does handle the production on the new upbeat song, Hit-Boy also comes through to spit a verse of his own. He helps in delivering the catchy hook as well.

“Ain’t no such thing as too thick, she wear a waist trainer in the crib / Started an OnlyFans, gettin’ tips, seven-six-two, her ass that big / Marni sweatеrs, ran it up at Websters / She can make a post breakup feel better,” raps the “Racks in the Middle” producer.

Offset follows suit and continues the infectious energy. “She get crazy, I blew eighty / We got faded, I woke up, bought her Mercedes / Racks on top of the table, she got Birkins, alligators / She was a waiter, but she left you for my paper,” raps the 31-year-old to kick off his verse.

The “Ric Flair Drip” rapper dropped off two singles last year. The first of which is “54321,” whose beat comes from Baby Keem with the help of Mike Dean and others. He subsequently released “CODE” with Moneybagg Yo in August.

Additionally, he also makes an appearance on SleazyWorld Go‘s fiery track from last year, “Step 1.”

Offset’s last full-length release is still his 2019 debut solo album, FATHER OF 4. In 2017, he connected with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin for the monstrous collaboration, Without Warning.

However, the new song does serve as Offset’s first release since the tragic passing of his cousin. Long Live Takeoff.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Drops New Single, “Her Old Friends”

It’s been nearly three years since we last got blessed with a project from PARTYNEXTDOOR.

However, it appears as though the Mississauga native is gearing up for a new full-length release. On Friday (January 13), the “Break from Toronto” singer returned to drop off his brand new single, “Her Old Friends.”

Produced by OG Parker and G Ry, the song finds PND criticizing his girl’s old friends. Specifically, he puts the blame on them for her past behavior. “F*ck all my b*tches’ old friends / Y’all let that girl f*ck anybody / She out here catchin’ every body / Told her not to lean on anybody,” he croons to kick off the song.

“B*tches when they see me, all they greet me, show me love / I’m with b*tches wearin’ VVs, flawless, they don’t f*ck with scrubs / But I just need my shawty back / Richer than I ever was,” he goes on to plead in the first verse.

The Canadian singer’s last album is 2020’s PARTYMOBILE. Backed by singles featuring Rihanna (“BELIEVE IT”) and Drake (“LOYAL”), the project contains the OVO artist’s signature R&B sound with some toxic lyrics. It also contains a remix to “LOYAL” with Bad Bunny.

Later that year, the 29-year-old also dropped PARTYPACK, a seven-song EP comprised of songs that hadn’t priorly been officially released to streaming services. It includes the fan favorite “PERSIAN RUGS,” as well as “BUZZIN” with Lil Yachty and Murda Beatz.

On January 2, OVO Sound took to their Instagram account to tease new music this year. “OVO SOUND ’22 NEW SOUND ALL ’23,” reads the caption.

The label is certainly living up to the hype thus far. Only two weeks into the new year, “Her Old Friends” serves as their second official release. The first of which is Popcaan‘s latest single “We Caa Done,” which features Drake.

Fredo Bang Celebrates Fatherhood With “Lullaby”

Fredo Bang had the internet talking after he announced that he welcomed a newborn into the world. Now, he shared a new single to commemorate the milestone in his life.

This afternoon, the rapper unveiled his latest single, “Lullaby” while fans reel in from the announcement of his newborn child. The cover art of the single shows Fredo Bang holding his baby close in front of a Christmas tree. In the song, the rapper dives into his melodic strengths while showcasing his vulnerability. It’s another strong effort from Fredo Bang, who shared his album, UNLV in October.

This morning, the rapper shared a photo of himself with his newborn child on the ‘Gram, which evidently left people talking. However, what was meant to be a celebratory post turned into a point of curiosity for his fans. While many began trying to identify the child’s mother, Internet sleuths discovered that he shares the child with an Instagram-famous lesbian couple, Annie and Sevyn Buffins. Though some believed he was the father of both of their children, Annie cleared the air shortly after.

“So lemme get this straight… you think Fredo & Sevyn made Parker? We did do IUI.” She wrote. “We never lied. We just never said how Payton came about. Kept that to myself until I was ready. Now I’m wrong for doing what was best for me lmao gah damn.”

At this point, Fredo hasn’t said much about the online discourse but we’ll keep you posted if he does. For now, press play on his new single, “Lullaby” below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Rarelyalways Announces Debut Album Along With “LET’S” Single

Rather than waiting until New Music Friday, this week we’ve got some tracks to share with you on Monday. Coming through with “LET’S” is London-based artist Rarelyalways, whose latest arrival is sure to help start your week on a high note.

The single arrived earlier today (January 9), along with another titled “Voice note 0142.” Together, these form the preview for the rising star’s debut album, Work, due out later this year.

Along with “LET’S,” Rarely collaborates with director MadeInEden on the accompanying music video. In the clip, he engages in a pillow fight on a snowy rooftop in London.

“Got rid of the bronze, ‘cuz your rare like gold / Weighed up the cons, still pursuing goals,” he raps. “I ain’t finna front, this ain’t the real one, hold / I trust, ain’t gotta look thru your phone.”

A press release reveals that the artist’s early musical influences came from the time he spent drumming alongside his father. Rarely went on to attend the prestigious BRIT School, where he fine-tuned his skills before landing gigs in South London.

His sound has been described as “the intersection of hip-hop and experimental jazz wrapped in an ominous, abstract style.”

Rarelyalways’ debut album is set to debut on March 10. Both of today’s new arrivals will appear on the tracklist, alongside unreleased songs like “Msg” and “Fire.”

From the looks of the project’s Apple Music page, no features will appear on the 14-track effort.

RJ Payne Taps Lloyd Banks For New Single, “BANKS MEETS PAYNE”

RJ Payne is undeniably one of the most consistent names in the underground hip-hop scene. His work ethic combines with his lethal bars to make him one of the most respected emcees in the game.

On Friday (January 6), he returned to drop off his newest single, “BANKS MEETS PAYNE” featuring none other than G-Unit rapper, Lloyd Banks.

On the new link-up, the two rappers do what they’re both best known for; spit relentless bars. The “BULLETS AND BROKEN GLASS” rapper kicks the track off by immediately asserting his presence and dominance. After declaring that everybody else in the rap game is dead, he gets right to it.

“We did a lot more than heat up the game / I feel we flammable / Empty the clip like, ‘keep the change, you filthy animal’ / They built a cannibal, tell the killers, ‘come chill with Hannibal,” Payne raps explicitly. The murderous bars and horror movie inspiration are characteristics evidently riddled throughout the rest of his discography.

Banks fits right in over the haunting production, subsequently spitting a verse reminiscent of his prime days. “Ripped out my patient coat, a few screws loose / I’m a schizo rappin’, no compassion,” spits the “Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley” rapper during his verse.

The fiery new song represents the duo’s first time officially teaming up on a track, but we certainly hope it will happen again soon.

One of Payne’s most successful songs to date follows a similar format. It’s 2020’s “Butcher Meets Leatherface,” which finds him squaring off with Benny The Butcher.

Last year alone, the Brooklyn native dropped three projects. The first of which, BEAUTIFUL PAYNE 4, arrived in January. The seventh instalment of his notorious IF COCAINE COULD TALK series came in March, followed by the seven-track BLOOD ON MY CHAINSAW in April. Furthermore, the original mixtape in his aforementioned ICCT series came to streaming services before the year’s end.

Make sure to stream RJ Payne and Lloyd Banks’ “BANKS MEETS PAYNE” on Spotify down below. Comment your thoughts on the track afterwards. Finally, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest music releases and news.

Quotable Lyrics:

These rappers hatin’, I ain’t movin’ an inch
Stupid decision, shootin’ stars, superhuman event
Cocaina, they think a n*gga come from Cuban descent
Itchy trigger finger, don’t make me shoot at you in defense

NBA YoungBoy Embraces The Rage On New Song “Black”

Youngboy is still on his grind, and he quickly reminded us of that as we entered the new year. NBA YoungBoy just dropped his latest album, I Rest My Case, on which the opening track “Black” is a standout. Moreover, accompanied by an energetic music video, it’s Youngboy’s foray into rage music à la Playboi Carti or Yeat.

Still, it’s not his first attempt at buzzy synths, distorted bass, and a high-pitched drawl delivery. In fact, the Louisiana rapper experiments with the rage genre on a couple of tracks from I Rest My Case. Moreover, the next couple of songs in the tracklist also go in that sonic direction. Namely, these are tracks like “Louie V,” “Swag On Point,” and “B***h Yeah.” If you’ve been looking for a different direction from YB, now’s the time to check I Rest My Case out.

However, if you’re still a die-hard for the 23-year-old’s sound, “Black” carries over a lot of similarities to his most popular work. Moreover, the energy and aggression are still palpable, and his higher pitch doesn’t distract from his rapid-fire flows. Still, it’s not surprising to see YB in this rage lane. His Gangsta Grillz tape Ma’ I Got A Family featured Yeat on the track “I Don’t Text Back.”

Meanwhile, some fans caught YB while he was filming the music video for “Black.” It was a crazy moment for fans, as the Top rapper engaged them with a snowball fight. Also, if you peep the video, you can see these crowds around the rapper in a few shots.

Still, what did you think of NBA YoungBoy’s rage-tinged album cut “Black” from I Rest My Case? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, you can peep some standout bars and the music video down there as well. As always, stay logged in to HNHH for the latest greatness from the rap game.
