Usher Taps Keke Palmer To Star In New “Boyfriend” Music Video

Keke Palmer is teaming up with Usher to turn some real life drama into a new music video. Last month the pair were wrapped up in a news story together when a dress Palmer wore to one of the R&B legend’s shows in Vegas got some surprising attention. The drama was sparked by Keke’s partner Darius Jackson who took issue with her outfit in a series of social media posts. Now, they’re making the most of the high profile drama.

Usher just dropped his new single “Boyfriend,” his third new song of 2023. For the video he fittingly nabbed Keke. In the accompanying video the pair have a chance encounter in where else but Las Vegas. Even the lyrics of the song itself seem to reference the viral drama. Throughout the song Usher makes references to somebody’s boyfriend looking for him, presumably because of perceived advances he’s making on girls. Check out the perfect new video below.

Usher And Keke Palmer Keep It Real

Though Usher hasn’t released a new album since 2018, he’s stayed busy. “Boyfriend” is his third new song this year and second release in just the past few weeks. Back in March of this year he opened his 2023 with the non-album single “GLU.” Earlier this month, he teamed up with Summer Walker and 21 Savage for a new single called “Good Good.” Subsequently the song instantly became a success debuting at number 68 in its first week on the charts.

Last month, Usher announced that he has a new album on the way soon. He previewed a song called “Comin Home” which is expected to appear on the project. The two singles he’s released since then are also expected to make the cut. What do you think of Keke Palmer and Usher addressing their drama in a new music video? Sexyy Red & Sukihana Get Raunchy On High-Energy Single “Hood Rats”

Sexyy Red is someone who has been having a huge moment in the game right now. Overall, a lot of this is thanks to her song “Pound Town” and her album Hood Hottest Princess. In fact, her success has been so impressive that Drake added her to his tour. At this point in time, there is nothing that can stop her. This is Sexyy Red’s world, and we are all just along for the ride. Although, this is not a bad thing by any stretch, as her charisma and ability to craft catchy songs have been infectious to watch.

Over the course of the last week or so, the artist has been teasing a new song with her good friend Sukihana. Of course, Sukihana has also been making some huge waves online. In many respects, Sexyy and Suki are very similar in their subject matter. However, that doesn’t mean they are the same. They take different approaches to punchlines, while Suki also seems more into the shock value of her bars. Well, today, the two dropped their new song “Hood Rats” and it certainly lives up to their reputations.

Lil Tecca Teases New BNYX-Produced Track

Lil Tecca recently gave fans a sneak peek at the new BNYX-produced track he’s been working on. In the clip shared from DJ Akademiks’ page, the 20-year-old rapper looks eager to share what he’s been working on. However, fans seem divided on its quality. “This n*gga sounds the same in every song. He suffers from the dominque jones syndrome,” one fan commented.

“Those record company streaming bots is going to be the only things bumping this,” another person wrote, whereas one fan offered a different perspective: “Ohhh brother i swear yall the same ones saying that music b sounding the same and when someone drops something a lil different from all the shit we hear yall say its trash. This song dont even sound terrible.”

The track’s reported producer BNYX (pronounced Benny X), has previously worked with several industry heavyweights. Among the artists on the list are Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and more. It is unclear when the track will be released, but hopefully, the finished product will help fans decide whether they like it. Lil Tecca has yet to reveal anything else about the tune. The upcoming track has not been discussed by BNYX either.

Earlier this year, the rapper was roasted for sampling Brandy and Monica’s 90s hit, “That Boy Is Mine.” Overall, the sample contributes to a pretty woozy and low-key cut with minimal drum patterns that are mostly carried by Tecca’s vocal delivery. Unfortunately for him, fans are tired of sample songs being so prevalent and “mid” in today’s hip-hop landscape. Of course, sampling is nothing new in the genre, as much as people like to complain about their prolificacy. In fact, sampling is considered a foundation of hip-hop by most leading figures, fans, and other community members. However, there have been a lot of hit rap songs that use sampling as a way to boost their track’s profile or entice more listeners into tuning in.

Lil Kim Says “RIP” To Takeoff In New Song Preview

Lil Kim recently graced the stage at NYC’s Yankee Stadium in honor of the 50th anniversary of hip hop. The 49-year-old performer blew the audience away, even going on to give them a preview of a new track. She teased the unreleased song, “Nice Ice,” which includes a shoutout to another hip hop icon, Takeoff. In June, Lil Kim shared a snippet of “Nice Ice” with Instagram followers, claiming that somebody had leaked it. According to some accounts, she has also previously performed the song live.

“She said she could keep up, then I know for sure the b*tch lyin’ (That b*tch a cap)/ And all that designer don’t make you bad, b*tch stop tryin’ (Uhum, uhum)/ Leavin’ this b*tch gotta take off (Wooh)/ R.I.P to that n***a Take Off (Wooh),” she rhymes. Listeners appreciate the sentiment, and are eager to see the release of the full song though a release date has yet to be announced. Takeoff was tragically shot and killed in November of 2022, leaving behind his former Migos groupmates, family, and of course, countless fans.

Lil Kim Mentions Takeoff In “Nice Ice” Teaser

Lil Kim is far from the only performer to pay homage to Takeoff amid his unfortunate passing. One of his former Migos groupmates, Quavo, has an entire album dedicated to the late artist on the way. Rocket Power is scheduled for release on August 18, and is intended to “keep the Rocket name alive.” Quavo says the LP details his healing process following Takeoff’s death, “embodying all [his] emotions.”

“I’ve learned to turn tragedy into triumph,” he told fans last month. “I had to dig deep into my purpose and find the power to keep striving.” He also joined forces with the other 1/3 of Migos, Offset, at the 2023 BET Awards, paying tribute to Takeoff. Their performance boasted a massive image of the fallen Migos member, and received a great deal of praise from fans and peers alike. Cardi B, Offset’s partner, also consistently rides for Takeoff following his death.

2RARE And Blueface Join Forces For “2HUMPY”

2RARE and Blueface are here for a brand new song called “2HUMPY.” The track is now the 15th single that either features or stars him this year. 2RARE has worked with some established names in the rap game such as French Montana, NLE Choppa, and Lil Durk. He continues to blow up and this new collaboration with Blueface is further proof of that. But first, let us take a quick look at where 2RARE has come from, for those who do not know.

He legally goes by Naseem Young and put all of the pressure on himself to make it big in the music industry. He fully dedicated himself to rap in his teenage years, and this came after a realization that the life of a rap star would be a more fulfilling career path for him over school and football. The song that launched his career was “Big Bag,” released independently in 2019, which allowed 2RARE to sign a joint deal with 10K Projects, Homemade Projects, and Internet Money Records.

Fun Is One Word To Use

2RARE and Blueface have something here with “2HUMPY.” It is an easy breezy listen and it is all about a shout-out to those with a lot of junk in the trunk. The beat almost seems to sample “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot and it adds perfectly to what the song is aiming for. These two might need to collaborate more in the future.

What are your thoughts on this track “2HUMPY” with Blueface and 2RARE? Have you heard 2RARE’s music before, and if so what is your favorite song of his? What are your thoughts on all the recent drama with Blueface and his love life? We want to hear all of your thoughts and opinions, so be sure to leave them for us in the comments section below. Money Man Gets Gritty On “Fear No Man”

One of the most prolific rappers alive, Money Man is back again with a new single. This one is the lead single to his next album and it is called “Fear No Man.” This comes fresh off the heels of his 2023 project Red Eye which was released on March 17, 2023. For those who might not be familiar with the rapper, here are some key points to know.

Even though Money Man has a lengthy catalog already, he is still fairly new to the rap game. The Georgia rapper, born and raised, whose legal name is Tyson Jay Bolding, started his career off by creating when his own independent record label, Black Circle Family. It was named after his 2016 debut album, Black Circle. Jumping ahead, Money Man inked a deal with Cash Money Records, but with his success, he wanted to depart. He had to cough up $250,000 to leave and he went back to Black Circle.

The beat from Yung Lan, James Maddocks, and Jester is moody trap ballad and it works to perfection.

Ghostface Killah Returns And Taps Remy Ma For “YUPP!”

Ghostface Killah has returned to music with a new track entitled “YUPP!” featuring his fellow New Yorker, Remy Ma. The pair honors their East Coast roots but trading bars over a gritty beat. The track couldn’t come at a more perfect time, as Hip Hop celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The song is reportedly a part of the rapper’s upcoming album, on which he’s collaborating with the media and content company Mass Appeal. This would be his first project since 2019’s Ghostface Killahs.

Coming in at just over three minutes, the rapper’s bravado is more than evident. With a career spanning over three decades, the Wu-Tang rapper continues to prove he’s still a master at getting lyrical. Remy Ma works as the perfect paring with Ghostface, as the two share such ferocity when it comes to their delivery. It makes one wonder why did we have to wait this long for the pair to collaborate.

The Track Captures The Essence Of East Coast Hip Hop

As of today, neither Ghostface nor his team have released any new information about the upcoming project. It is also unclear when or if the project will be released this year. It looks like we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll keep you posted about new music from the Staten Island rapper.

In other related news, despite releasing some new music, Ghostface’s personal life has seemed to hit a sour note. In May, the rapper’s son, Infinite Coles, took to Instagram to call Ghost “the full definition of a deadbeat” and bring forth various claims. “I haven’t had a full conversation with you or seen you in over 15 years!” he wrote in the post’s caption. “You haven’t once tried to reach out to me to see how I’m feeling or how I’m doing. I have messages that literally show me reaching out to you and receiving no response for over a DECADE!”

Quotable Lyrics:

N*ggas will rob you and take your pharmaceuticals
Gonna be a lot of slow singing at your funeral
Didn’t I tell you, savages in the night (YUPP)
And you don’t even know it’s on site (YUPP)

Jay Worthy, Wiz Khalifa & OHGEESY Team Up For New Single, “From The Jump”

Jay Worthy, Wiz Khalifa, and OHGEESY just came together to craft a club-ready West Coast banger with their new single “From The Jump.” While this is a pretty atypical collab considering all artists involved’s typical output, it’s a welcome and successful crossover. Moreover, each MC is able to fit the sunny and bounce-heavy beat with ease, as lengthy or small as their contributions may be. For example, Jay and Geesy come through with some elaborate verses that see them flexing and boasting about their possessions and greatness. On the other hand, Wiz takes over chorus duties, complimenting the instrumental well with his vocal melody and tone.

Furthermore, the beat contains some infectious piano leads, plucky bass, and crisp fast hi-hats to give it that West Coast flavor. However, this might not be the pallet you’re used to if you’re a Jay Worthy fan, although OHGEESY certainly floats on this with ease considering that it’s right up his sonic alley. Readers might know Worthy for his collaborations with the likes of Harry Fraud, on which he flexes his lyrical pen a little bit more. Still, there’s more than one way to make a great song, and it will be at the very least refreshing for you to hear him tackle this. If anything, it just sets up his success for more experimentation and lane-switching in the future.

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh and Taylor Gang legend kind of hops on anything and everything when it comes to production styles. As such, his delivery and energy unsurprisingly resonates on “From The Jump.” He’s on a new music run of his own, so hopefully these rappers make some more heat for fans soon.
