Cruch Calhoun Is “Tapped In” With Dave East & Dre Mac On New Song

Cruch Calhoun and Dave East just returned with a new track “Tapped In” featuring Dre Mac. While all of these rappers hail from the West Coast, the instrumental on here throws it back to California classics. Moreover, this mix of energy makes for a track that is as smooth as it is biting.

Furthermore, the song’s instrumental samples Dr. Dre’s iconic “F**k Wit Dre Day (And Everybody’s Celebratin’).” However, the soaring G-funk synths contrast well with some additional sharp drums featured on this new single. Though East and Calhoun are frequent collaborators, they had some special things to say about this track in particular.

“Dave and I are ‘Tapped In’ again and staying in tune,” Cruch expressed.  “With ‘Tapped In’ I wanted to create a track where we could put our East Coast vibes on a West Coast classic.” Moreover, his next album Soul’d Out will drop on February 17th this year.

Meanwhile, the East Harlem MC spoke fondly of his working relationship with Calhoun. “I always love working with Cruch,” he stated. “‘Tapped In’ is the perfect blend of East Coast and West Coast music; and mixed with Kamillion’s production, perfectly blends the two sounds.”

However, the consistent nods to Harlem on this track are unsurprising. Dave East recently contributed to Godfather of Harlem‘s soundtrack with his song “DAMN.” Also, he even interpolated some classic Biggie lyrics to shout out the rest of New York.

Still, what did you think of Cruch Calhoun’s new track with Dave East, “Tapped In” featuring Dre Mac? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out some quotable lyrics from the single down below. Huncho Bookie Teams Up With Rob49 For “Line Em Up”

Houston hip-hop artist Huncho Bookie has teamed up with Rob49 for his newest single, “Line Em Up.” The song was released with a music video directed by SPXRK showing Huncho Bookie and Rob49 rapping in a packed-out kitchen.

For the song, Huncho trades in his usual guitar and piano loops for a more hurried percussion-packed production more fitting of a Rob49 track.

The feature for Rob49 comes after he was reportedly among at least 10 injured in a shooting outside a Miami Gardens restaurant, earlier this month. The Licking restaurant, which is reportedly co-owned by DJ Khaled, is where the shooting went down.

Rob49 had been on Instagram Live hours before the incident filming with French Montana, C.E.D. Mogul, and more. The crew appeared to have been shooting a music video. Rob49 appeared on a track off of French’s latest project, Coke Boys 6.

“[He asked to] call his mother and see if we can get spare car keys and make sure, you know, he’s OK, and then the gunshots went off,” Mogul told FOX8, before adding, “At least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle.”

Despite not having a verse on the song, Mogul had been at the shoot to watch the filming.

Deante’ Hitchcock’s First Single Of 2023, “U Were Right I Was Wrong” Is Here

Previously described as “hip-hop’s real certified lover boy,” Deante’ Hitchcock is heating things up ahead of Valentine’s Day with his first single of 2023. On Friday (January 27), the Atlanta-based artist dropped off “U Were Right I Was Wrong,” and many listeners haven’t been able to get it out of their heads since.

The recent release tells the story of the lyricist and his partner in the midst of an argument. “Do ya love me? / Say ya do and won’t put nothing else above me,” he flirtatiously requests early in the first verse.

Later in the song, Hitchcock insists that “all the pretty girls round the world, they gon’ feel us” before explicitly launching into his second verse.

“I’mma d*ck ya down, I’mma d*ck ya down yeah / Without the sex I’d love ya still,” he rhymes at that point. “I’mma love you right like Johnny Gil / Shoutout
Houston, Texas keep it trill.”

According to a press release, Hitchcock has a “slew of new music” dropping throughout 2023. Last year, his biggest arrivals were a single, “Alone,” as well as his Valentine’s-themed EP, Everyday The 14th.

Finally, he closed out 2022 with a two-pack effort – Callin’ All My Children. This saw the rising star getting in touch with his southern roots and retro influences. Besides putting his own talent to work, Deante’ also called on Big K.R.I.T. and Westside Boogie.

Tay Money Hypes Up Her “Donk” On Latest Single

Among our many New Music Friday posts yesterday (January 27), came Flo Milli’s “Conceited” remix. It saw her link up with Lola Brooke and Maiya The Don to bring even more braggadocious energy to the TikTok-favoured original. In that same realm of bad bitch bops chiefly comes a new single from Tay Money, “Donk.”

The quick and cute track is presently stuck in the heads of many upon its debut. In her usual fashion, the Texas-born rap diva markedly drops bars about her curvaceous figure and talking nasty to men.

“Crown got me stupid / Ass keep on moving (booty) / He ask me how I’m doing / I ask him how he gon’ do it (nasty),” she rhymes near the mid-way point of “Donk.”

Along with the new single, Money also dropped an accompanying music video that sees plenty of booties shaking. Elsewhere in the clip, she later munches on a meal from Rudy’s Chicken, her bright red hair matching the teensy-tiny shorts covering her bottom.

On her Instagram page, the 29-year-old gave followers a preview of the salacious video. Trinidad James, Sally Sossa, and Lexy Panterra were all quick to show their support and hype her up.

In 2022, Money previously made her mark with her Girls Gone Duh project featuring Saucy Santana Flo Milli, and more.

The most popular titles to come from that effort are “The Assignment” and “Asthma Pump.” With any luck, we’ll see the recording artist continue to share female-first anthems all through 2023.

Stream Tay Money’s “Donk” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Additionally, check back later for our weekly Fire Emoji playlist update with more hot new song recommendations.

Toosii Drops Off “Magic Potion” Single On New Music Friday

After ending 2022 on a high note with the arrival of his deluxe Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do EP, Toosii couldn’t let the first month of 2023 come to a close without satisfying fans once again. This time around, the lyricist has caught our attention with his “Magic Potion” single.

The gritty, sensual effort landed on Friday (January 27) via South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records. The accompanying music video takes place in Atlanta and was directed by frequent collaborator NoRatchetss.

“‘Magic Potion’ is one of them street bangers you expect to hear when you in the club. It’s just about having motion and winning with a mix of having a pretty female that’s down to ride,” Toosii previously said of his latest release.

In the visual, the 23-year-old heads out for a night at the strip club, but later finds himself caught up in a Queen & Slim-style love story. As he heads out to pull a job, a dancer joins him. Unfortunately, things go sideways and they have to flee and evade the authorities pursuing them.

Prior to “Magic Potion,” Toosii grew his fanbase throughout 2022 thanks to titles like “Lonely” and “Love is…,” as well as “Keeper.” As for collaborations, he notably worked with 3Breezy on “Gangsta Wit It (Pt.2)” and Lil Gotit on “Take Care” also featuring Millie Go Lightly.

Stream Toosii’s “Magic Potion” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterwards, make sure to share your thoughts on the new single in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

Put a pic’ up on the ‘Gram, she throw the gang up when she posin’
And I slide on her any time, she don’t give a damn ’bout short notice
I told baby, if she was a flower, she would probably be a Lotus
Ain’t no drug, but that pussy keep me rollin’

Vic Mensa Rocks “STRAWBERRY LOUIS VUITTON” With Thundercat & Maeta On New Song

Vic Mensa just dropped “STRAWBERRY LOUIS VUITTON,” a wondrous new single featuring Thundercat and Maeta. While the last we heard from the Chicago artist was his Black Star Line Festival in Ghana with Chance the Rapper, he’s still grinding that music. Moreover, this new track sees Vic in a new sonic direction, integrating lush instrumentation and beautiful harmonies.

Furthermore, this new song will likely land on Mensa’s upcoming album, which he said is already done. Still, fans knew the 29-year-old to be a versatile artist from the jump. Moreover, he’s dabbled with hip-hop, electronic music, punk, and a few other similar genres. As such, “STRAWBERRY LOUIS VUITTON” might not even be the main sonic pallet on his next project.

However, with a lot of guitar promo on his social media right now, it’s not a bad guess, either. Overall, this song features a bright and layered soundscape for the artists to explore, with deep bass, steady percussion, and vocal harmonies galore. Also, contributing guests Thundercat and Maeta provide some amazing vocal contrasts to Vic’s emphatic rap flows and smooth vocal lines.

All artists soar over this production, and it makes for a soothing and remarkably chilled-out song. Given this trippy direction for the “Liquor Locker” artist, his most recent community effort makes sense. Moreover, he donated about $10,000 in gas (no, not that gas) and pre-rolled joints (yes, that gas) to Chicago residents.

Still, what did you think of this new Vic Mensa song, “STRAWBERRY LOUIS VUITTON” featuring Thundercat and Maeta? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out some standout lyrics from the single down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the track on your preferred streaming service. As always, stay tuned to HNHH for the best new music every day.

Quotable Lyrics

Voulez-vous coucher, you sweet like shea butter too avec moi?
Sweet like, I love more the Crème Brûléе, you sweet like Häagen-Dazs
Sweet like Baby Bash and Frankiе J, suga, that’s way too fly
Judgin’ by the way your mama look, I bet you stay this fine, the way your DNA designed

Q Looks For “LUV (I KNOW I WANT THIS FOR REAL)” On New Song

Florida-based artist Q is back with a new dance-infused track, “LUV (I KNOW I WANT THIS FOR REAL).” Moreover, the track follows earlier soulful singles, such as the track “Stereo Driver” from September of 2022. While Q’s an up-and-coming talent, his raw skill and creativity brightens up even older sounds.

Furthermore, this track has an incredibly infectious ’80s vibe to it, from the passionate vocals to the static-infused drums. Also, the down-pitched vocals that come in at certain points of the song give it a lot of character. Following previous singles, which saw him stray into sultry R&B and soul, it seems Q has a vintage skillset.

Still, the track’s production quality is top-tier, so the dated production feels intentionally charming, not sloppily arranged. What’s more is that the music video is just Q dancing, and what else is better to motivate you to get up?

Moreover, this track just has a really fun and danceable atmosphere. Even with repeat listens, you can continually find new details and melodic phrases to latch onto. Furthermore, it’s a testament to Q’s dynamism and charisma as a vocalist and instrumentalist.

Also, the track features some structural and dynamic changes, like bringing out the drums and slightly changing the song’s swing. Overall, these elements combine to make a highly enjoyable experience that should have fans foaming at the mouth for a full-length project soon.

Still, what did you think of singer Q’s latest single, “LUV (I KNOW I WANT THIS FOR REAL)”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and peep some quotable lines from the track and its music video down below. Also, if you haven’t heard this bop yet, you can find the song on your preferred streaming service. As always, come back to HNHH for the freshest finds in music each week.

Quotable Lyrics

I think I found it, I can’t seem to stop it (I know I want this for real)
The love is goin’ crazy (I’m sick and tired of fallin’ of in love), I think I need to stop it, wait
I think I found it, I can’t seem to stop it (That love is distant for real)
The love is goin’ crazy, I think I need to stop it, wait

Ray Vaughn Builds “Sandcastles” With Ab-Soul On New Single

Ray Vaughn tapped TDE labelmate Ab-Soul for a new track, “Sandcastles.” Moreover, both MCs deliver impassioned, emphatic, and high-impact verses over a heavy banger beat. With a new project coming soon from the recent signee, Vaughn might just make his big splash this year.

Furthermore, the last we heard from the Long Beach native was back in August of 2022 with the Isaiah Rashad-assisted “Dog House.” On that track, Vaughn matched Rashad’s often low-key but intoxicating delivery over a smooth beat. This time around, it seems he’s boasting and matching the energy of one of TDE’s premier MCs.

In fact, the California label has a lot to celebrate recently. Moreover, Ab-Soul just dropped his long-awaited album Herbert to critical acclaim last December. While Ray Vaughn isn’t featured on that project, this new single displays some strong chemistry between their performance styles. Both have their energy on high, command fast and aggressive flows with ease, and add a lot of conviction to the track.

Meanwhile, the instrumental is a mid-tempo banger with heavy bass, sharp snares, and eerie piano chords. For those enamored by this beat, producer Wallis Lane worked with the likes of Mac Miller, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and many more. Even if it falls into an engaging bounce assisted by the MCs’ triplet flows, you could remix that melody into some creepy stuff easily. Throughout the verses, the instrumental relies on muted plucked strings and ethereal synth pad samples to switch things up.

Still, what did you think of Ray Vaughn’s newest single with Ab-Soul, “Sandcastles”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and peep some standout lines from the track below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the song on your preferred streaming service. As always, check back in with HNHH for the best new drops in hip-hop.

Rae Sremmurd’s “Sucka Or Sum” Single & Music Video Have Arrived

The wait for SremmLife 4 is nearing its end. While the Mississippi natives haven’t unveiled an official release date for the highly anticipated album, they have shared a string of singles in recent months.

To kick off 2023, they’re back with more new music in the form of a single and music video called “Sucka Or Sum” on Friday (January 27). As Complex notes, the brothers previously teased the Jaxx-produced track on Twitter while kicking back in the studio.

Since hearing the infectious beat, fans have been eager for Sremmurd to drop some fire, and they’ve certainly delivered.

On the chorus, Swae Lee obviously has questions for listeners as he sings. “How you gon’ try to play me like a sucka or somethin’? / How you gon’ try to play me when I’m knowin’ what’s up?” the 29-year-old asks.

Other singles to come from Rae Sremmurd lately include “Community D*ck” with Flo Milli and “Denial,” as well as “Torpedo.” All of the aforementioned titles are expected to make an appearance on SremmLife 4.

The group’s last project, SR3MM made its debut back in 2018. Across three discs, the 27-song effort saw appearances from Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Future, Juicy J, and more.
