He also goes after Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is dating AA’s former interest, Yailin La Más Viral. They had a child together and now the rainbow-haired rapper is taking care of the kid with her. The bar that addresses this is, “I know I’m a piece of s***, a snitch is taking care of my daughter.“ Because of this, the song is gaining attention, and fast.

C Stunna recently unveiled his new track “Vibin,” which arrived alongside an energetic accompanying music video. The boastful, bass-heavy single sees the Florida-based rapper spit menacing bars about opps, making money, and more. The track follows his 2021 album Stone Cold Stunna. While it’s unclear when the rapper plans to unveil his next full-length project, he’s managed to hold fans over with an array of singles over the past year, including “Play,” “Copy Paste Delete,” “Feel Myself,” and more.

“I’ve always loved music my whole life,” C Stunna says of his background. “I can’t do anything without a song or instrumental playing. I grew up in a home that always had some type of music playing also. My environment inspires me.“

Killer Mike Adds Damian Marley For Reggae Flip Of “RUN”

After taking a break with Run The Jewels and El-P, Killer Mike decided to make a big comeback on his own this year. In fact, it had been an 11-year return in the making. His last solo effort was released on May 15, 2012 with R.A.P. Music. That was until June 16 of this year, when Mike unleashed perhaps his best record to date, with MICHAEL. It has done so well for the Georgia legend that is up for a handful of GRAMMY nominations.

It is easy to see why it could win Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance categories. There are so many fantastic records on this LP. “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” is the key player here, but “RUN” with Young Thug is another fun one. The great additional tracks and remixes have also helped bolster the legitimacy around Mike’s self-titled tape.

Jack Harlow has had a big 2023 already, but it looks like he is not slowing down anytime soon. Back in the early stages of the year, the Louisville, Kentucky rapper dropped his more lyrically-focused record, Jackman. It was an all-killer and no-filler type of album. With just 10 songs at around 24 minutes and change, Harlow was spitting about some personal battles, white men in the rap game, and more. LPs like that do not really do well numbers-wise and that was the case for him too. However, he seems to be going back to what he does best.

That is to make catchy singles that slowly work their way into your head. His latest crack at this formula is “Lovin On Me.” It draws heavy inspiration from one of Jack’s biggest idols, Drake. He nabs the melody from “The Motto,” and adds a little element of what makes him who is. The track is doing serious numbers right now, with over 65.5 million streams on Spotify already. After being out for two weeks, it takes over the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Uproxx.

This now gives the 25-year-old his third consecutive number-one hit. The tracks to do this before it are “First Class” and “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X. In another new development amongst the top 10, we have up-and-comer, Tyla, with her summer-ready groove, “Water.” This dropped back in July, but it has just reached the upper echelon of bops. It slips and slides right into the tenth spot. Tyla’s first bonafide breakthrough track is just over 200 million plays. Conway The Machine & Wun Two Deliver A Laidback Quickie With “Cosca”: Stream

Conway The Machine’s already had a prolific 2023, but do you think that this refined machinery stops at anytime? Well, if you do, you’d be sorely mistaken, as he’s gearing up for his next project PALERMO dropping towards the end of the year, which is a collaborative effort with producer Wun Two. Moreover, they’ve already dropped a couple of singles for the album, including “Montagna” with Goosebytheway. By comparison, this new single “Cosca” is shorter, more somber, but nonetheless fiery and dexterous on behalf of the Buffalo native. As such, it’s a short but welcome addition to the tracklist that could serve as your bite-sized introduction to PALERMO.

Furthermore, Wun Two came through with a dry and easy-going boom-bap drum pattern, and chose some wavy instrumentation to fit this vibe. For example, the infectious guitar loop throughout is what gives “Cosca” its more tender and laidback sound, as its woozy tone and playing invokes a haze of smoke. Still, the brightness and warm nature of the beat emerges with the watery and simple synth chords that appear more prominently towards the end of the song, complimented by some deep bass tones. As such, it’s well-contrasted and lush enough for Conway The Machine to sound boastful and relaxed on it while still delivering some animated ad-libs and inflections. Given his history of collaboration, one that his new Drumwork album exemplifies, it’s no surprise there’s a lot of chemistry here.

Conway The Machine’s “Cosca” With Wun Two: Stream

Lyrically, the Griselda affiliate doesn’t tread any new ground here: his history in the streets, his proximity to women, using these as balances for his own mental struggles… you get the idea. Actually, it’s one of his simplest lyrical displays in recent memory, but given the short and breezy nature of this single, it comes as little surprise. Either way, these two were still able to provide another compelling taste of Palermo, which should close off the “We Outside” artist’s year with a bang. The emotionally charged chorus and the relatability factor in the lyrics made it stand out. For this latest effort from Wiz, it is not really hitting the same buttons.
