Quavo Continues To Experiment With Country On Teddy Swims & Luke Bryan-Assisted “Georgia Ways”

Throughout his career, Quavo has always been viewed as the most versatile of his now former rap group, Migos. We have seen how effortless it is for him to crossover into other genres. Pop is one that he most frequents. Collabs with Liam Payne, Justin Bieber, Halsey, Bebe Rexha, and more are just a few examples. But lately, the Georgia MC and singer has been pushing his limits and going through a more intense creative renaissance overall. The interpolation of Lenny Kravitz’s “Fly Away” counts, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Quavo has been showing love to the country scene, with “Tough” featuring Lana Del Rey being the first example back in July. When we saw this collab, we didn’t know what to expect. However, it went over really well and it’s actually his most popular song on Spotify right now with over 175 million streams. Now, he’s diving even deeper into the roots of the genre with this new single, “Georgia Ways.” The music video of him and the songs guests– Luke Bryan and Teddy Swims– fishing in the Georgia backcountry accurately describes the vibe of it. Each of their verses hear them highlight the things they remember/love most about their Georgia roots. It’s a state anthem for sure and it could be another future streaming darling for Quavo.

Georgia boys pullin’ out sideways (Georgia)
In the south we ball, how about them Dawgs?

Skepta Is The “Alpha” And The “Omega” On Lex Luger-Produced Single

It’s almost been a full year since UK grime icon Skepta announced his next album, Knife and Fork. It will be his sixth studio effort, and first rap tape since his 2020 joint effort with Chip and Young Adz, Insomnia. In terms of solo bodies of work, we got our last serving in the genre from him in 2019 with Ignorance is Bliss. He’s been doing some incredible work in the house space with some spare loosies. But the time is near for Big Smoke, and we cannot wait. Unfortunately, a release date remains hidden from us. It’s got us feeling we will receive the LP sometime early next year.

But of course, we are hoping it arrives before 2024’s end, as there are still a few weeks remaining. He’s been keeping fans fed with four and potentially five promotional singles since the title reveal, though. “Jangrova” with Idris Elba, Tribal Mark, and ODUMODUBLVCK got things started. “Gas Me Up (Diligent),” “Tony Montana,” “Miss Independent,” and “Why Lie?” with Flo Milli then followed suit. All of that brings us to “Alpha Omega,” a big boss cut with some terrific production from one of the trap legends, Lex Luger. If you know your Greek alphabet, alpha is the first letter and omega is the last. He’s essentially letting everyone know that he was here from the start and will be at the end thanks to his work ethic and hunger to be number one.

I’m the Alpha and the Omega, the star player
You’re a liar, big capper, a pump faker
Seen you around, but you’re never involved, a spectator
Can’t you see the Spirit of Ecstasy? This ain’t a Bentayga (Huh?)
Nah, how we’re livin’? I’m never quittin’ (Woo)
V ‘Bach whippin’, Rollie ain’t tickin’

Roddy Ricch & Terrace Martin Will Blow You Away With “Lonely Road”

Roddy Ricch has some fans questioning just what the heck is going on right now. Today, the California rapper was supposed to deliver his long-awaited third studio album, THE NAVY ALBUM. However, that is not the case, as instead he let fans know across his social media platforms that it will be ready by 2025. “THE NAVY ALBUM 🐺 2025.” There was additional explanation as to why this is now the case, but Apple Music says it will be out on February 21. The project is going to contain 16 tracks, and interestingly, “911” is not listed as one of the singles.

Instead, “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Lonely Road” with producer Terrace Martin are the only certified inclusions. The latter is essentially an apology for the album not arriving today, but it’s much more than a consolation prize. In fact, we feel this could be Roddy Ricch’s best song yet. This future closing track hears him continue on similar themes from “Survivor’s Remorse” about his growth and struggles. However, instead of feeling uneasy at times, he’s thankful for the obstacles he’s gone through. Turbo also has his imprints on this cut, but it’s not what you traditionally get from him. Roddy expressively and passionately spits over a drum-less beat with Martin absolutely killing with the saxophone. It blew us away and we feel it will do the same to you.

Been a whole lot of choices, I been hearin’ Satan

Been on a lonely road so long (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Still tryna find my way back home (Oh, oh, oh, oh)
Doggy, these streets got me scarred (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Streets got a n**** wondering, when will my day come?

Lil Baby Is Going To Reach The End Zone No Matter What On “Touchdown”

Lil Baby is naming his next album, WHAM, which stands for Who Hard As Me. With a title like that, fans should expect some extremely braggadocious and confident trap bangers. However, it could be more than just a collection of those. There could also be a nice mixture of themes that still tie into what Baby is shooting for. On his latest single, “Touchdown,” the Atlanta native is rapping with a hunger and tenacity that has frankly been missing from him his sound for a little bit. Of course, he’s got a different mindset now, as he’s one of the biggest MCs in the game despite the recent vibe around his music.

He’s not going to be dropping tracks like “Freestyle” very often, as that era was about him trying to prove himself. But in that same breath, he does sort of have pressure on him right now. Generally speaking, folks feel his quality has been slipping since the release of his Lil Durk collab tape, The Voice of the Heroes. So, with songs like “Touchdown,” which has a real go-getter’s mentality, it’s going to be critical for Baby to have tracks in this vein. It’s a simple record in terms of what of it’s trying to do, but he just sounds livelier on the dark Wheezy production. It could take some a while to come back around, but this a solid return to form for Lil Baby, all things considered.

Got the ball in my hand, I can’t fumble this s***

Farruko Scorches Anuel AA In New Diss Track “San Miguel”

It looks like yet another feud is heating up for Puerto Rican trap and reggaetón star Anuel AA, as Bayamón, Puerto Rico’s own Farruko dropped a diss track against him titled “San Miguel.” For those unaware, it seems like their feud really popped off when the latter named Eladio Carrión as his favorite boricua trap artist, which seemed to rub Anuel the wrong way. AA is no stranger to battles and conflicts within the reggaetón and wider Latin music scene, whether that’s with Bad Bunny, his ex girlfriend KAROL G, or many other artists within Puerto Rico and Latin America as a whole.

Basically, Farruko challenges Anuel AA to prove his supposedly fake street status and respond with artistic merit, not with social media antics. Will that actually happen? Probably not, but depending on how far “San Miguel” goes, we might see a response track. It’s certainly a contrast to Anuel’s other beefs, such as his volatile clash with 6ix9ine, that were more Twitter fingers than (lyrical) trigger fingers. Still, this new diss track is more of a warning shot than anything, and if it progresses, we could definitely enter into much uglier territory. Hopefully it doesn’t escalate too far.

Farruko’s Anuel AA Diss Track, “San Miguel”

Regardless, Anuel AA has other strong controversies to contend with that don’t relate to his beefs with Farruko or other Puerto Rican reggaetón stars. For example, his public support of Donald Trump resulted in a lot of backlash from the boricua community and from Latin America as a whole. Of course, Anuel probably doesn’t care very much since Trump won the election and he pretty much thrives off of scandals and negative engagement just as much as he enjoys the praise and support of his rabid fanbase.

Elsewhere, some fans are calling Farruko out for his turn to Christianity, which this Anuel AA diss track seems to contradict. But given just how many beefs the latter has, others don’t mind seeing him go toe to toe with yet another opponent. We’ll see what comes of “San Miguel” and how else this feud could evolve, especially considering everything that’s already on Anuel’s plate beef-wise.

Ghais Guevara Is Down “4L” On Outstanding New Single

If his recent singles – including “Flowers,” “Leprosy,” and “Camera Shy” – are anything to go by, then Ghais Guevara will drop one of 2025’s best albums very soon. Moreover, his next project Goyard Ibn Said continues this persona and releases on January 24 of next year. The Philly-based rapper and producer just solidified his upcoming LP’s greatness with another track drop: “4L.” It’s a bouncy, progressive, exciting, and pretty conflicted banger with some amazing sample flips and instrumental additions.

Also, it certainly helps that Ghais Guevara’s witty charisma and compelling turns of phrase make the rapping display on “4L” an absolute treat. The song is kind of conflicted, as mentions of men cowering in darkness and of sin-loving honor roll girlies seem to point to primal urges clashing with present realities. It’s all a tad vague, but these lyrical mentions are certainly evocative and work well with the rambunctious instrumental. Also, this is nothing new for Goyard. His condemnations of political and economic systems pair with his more grounded and quotidian perspective as a hip-hop head, resulting in timelessly resistant anthems.

What’s most impressive about “4L” and the other Goyard Ibn Said singles, though, is just how much Ghais Guevara seems to have improved his songwriting chops and the complementary elements of his music. There was definitely more controlled chaos in his earlier work like BlackBolshevik and There Will Be No Super-Slave, and while we aren’t ruling the possibility of that out for his next album, this refinement and focus doesn’t compromise on talent, skill, message, or ethos.

Ghais Guevara’s “4L”

Quotable Lyrics
All that glory don’t mean nothing, though we took it on the chin,
‘Til the gravity from tension starts to cave us both in,
We was tripping and relapsing, we fell victim to the passion,
Stay provoking me with rhapsodies, you about to make it happen

Evilgiane Delivers Cross Cultural Collab With Rojuu-Assisted “Family Mart”

Evilgiane’s reach just keeps growing and growing. “FAMILY MART,” his newest single with Spanish-speaking rapper and singer, Rojuu. The latter is 21 years old and hails from Barcelona, Spain. This marks their first collaboration and given their similar styles of cloud rap, trap, and emo rap, it’s a perfect marriage. The English translation may not do the lyrics total justice, but this single is about Rojuu losing trust and love for a girl. Moreover, this relationship sounds like it weighs on him at times. However, given the success Rojuu is now seeing, it’s helping him cope with the pain.

Speaking of winning, the youngster has been doing so for a little bit now. He’s been releasing music since 2017, so when he was about 14! It’s been a grind for sure, but he’s got some hits under his belt now such as “Umi,” “Cuando Sonries,” “Twilight,” and more. The same could be said about evilgiane, who knows a thing or two about working your way up the totem pole. His work ethic has landed him hits with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem, Veeze, Maxo Kream, and more. Check out “FAMILY MART” with the music video link below.

Mike Delivers Touching Tribute To His Late Mother With “You’re The Only One Watching (Showbiz)”

Losing a parent is one of the most painful and traumatic things any human can go through. For Bronx, New York underground darling, MIKE, he tragically lost his mother, Anuoluwapo Sandra Akinboboye. He’s brought her into his music countless times throughout his career. Overall, it sounds like their connection was beautiful and loving beyond belief. Back on his 2019 project, tears of joy, he included this tear-jerking voicemail from her. “I don’t even know what to say, you are such a golden child; my golden child. My blessed boy, you shall be blessed forever — ever. I shall not die.

MIKE consistently returns the love back to his angel above too. She’s truly my angel! So thank u, n happy birthday to my mama 🕊#” MIKE has a ton of spirited releases in this vein, but “You’re the Only One Watching (Showbiz)” might be near the top. Self-produced under his dj blackpower alias, he incorporates a show-stopping soul sample along with some more words from his Nigerian mother speaking in her native Yoruba language. Overall, it’s just plain heartfelt and it’s going to be a great track on his 2025 album, Showbiz (Man in the Mirror).

Redman Previews His Long-Teased Album With Money Anthem “Dont Wanna C Me Rich

One of hip hop’s most charismatic MCs and greatest pure spitters of all time has returned. New Jersey native Redman, aka Funk Doc, is here with “Dont Wanna C Me Rich.” It’s another official release from his long-awaited (understatement) sequel album, Muddy Waters Too. The original 1996 tape is one of his classic efforts, so him even deciding to follow-up on it is exciting news in and of itself. However, it remains in limbo, as Redman has been teasing it since 2015, according to Genius. Since then, he’s put out several potential singles, especially in the last three years.

“80 BARZ,” an exercise in stunning double entendres and wordplay is one. Additionally, 2022’s “Jane” and “So Cool” are also candidates, especially given all of their production styles and similar cover arts. For now, though, the one we can safely say will make the cut is “Dont Wanna C Me Rich,” thanks to this recent IG post from Redman. “NEW MUSIC ALERT… “Dont wanna C me Rich…” From the Muddy Waters 2 Album.” Genius also says this is expected to drop in 2024 and with the 28th anniversary of Muddy Waters coming up (December 10), maybe Redman will celebrate by dropping the sequel? That’s our hope because this track and the others we mentioned are stellar. Check out “Dont Wanna C Me Rich” below.

Kodak Black Continues His Lengthy “Versatile” Song Series And Announces New Mixtape

Kodak Black is unconscious! The Pompano Beach, Florida native is already prepping another mixtape, according to his Instagram page and a press release. It’s going to be out this Friday, which he’s hilariously dubbing it “BLACK FRIDAY,” and it’s going to be called TRILL BILL. The project, which is based on one of his nicknames, Kutthroat Bill, will be his third overall tape of 2024. The year began for him with his label’s debut mixtape, Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies on Earth. Then, just a few weeks ago, he would deliver his first solo effort, Dieuson Octave, which is titled after his government name. In conjunction with this exciting news, fans are being treated to a Thanksgiving Eve single, “Versatile 4.”

If that song title sound familiar, that’s because this a long-running series within his discography. For those who don’t know, this all began back in 2017 on his Project Baby 2: All Grown Up LP. These tracks are undoubtedly some of the longest in his career, with the first one clocking in at just under seven minutes. The second would land on the deluxe of that aforementioned project and is a whopping 9:42 long. Then, the third would drop about three years ago, coming in at a more listenable 5:36. Overall, these tracks are to showcase Kodak Black’s ability to perform on an extended listen. Depending on how big of a fan you are of his, these might be for you. In that same breath, we can also see why some might overlook release from him like this. Regardless, check out “Versatile 4” with the link below.
